War has come to Per-Siana. The King has left the palace to go defend the border. Three months after Ryn is imprisoned, soldiers storm the underground caves of the Mother City prison claiming the Intelligentsia put out orders to form burn divisions that will head into the desert to aid the Per-Siana army.
Ryn expects war to be terrible. She even expects to die. What she doesn’t expect is for the God Original to use her hands and feet to stir up hope in an otherwise depressing war.
After rescuing a famous Weylin noble, Ryn is gifted a golden mask she wears as she begins her journey across the desert with Burn Division XII. Under her real name, "Adassah", she battles B'rei Mira divisions, giants, and enemy kings, but most of all, the brokenness in her own heart.
But everything comes to a halt when she crosses Xerxes in battle. Because of her mask and changed name, the young King she once cared for has no idea who she is. Ryn is left with two reveal who she is so she can say all the things to Xerxes she never got to the last time she saw him, or keep her identity a secret in order to protect her burn division.
This book is inspired by the heart and supernatural battles of King David in the Bible and includes illustrations by Kyannah Durocher and Jennifer Kropf.
Jennifer Kropf spent her college years bored to death (nearly) in marketing and advertising classes, and graduated only to discover once and for all that her true passion is telling stories. She lives amidst lush Ontario farmland with her husband and three kids, reads obsessively, and writes even more obsessively. She thinks tea is gross and coffee is great and secretly wishes Peter Pan will show up on some cool summer evening and ask if she wants to visit Neverland.
I hate cliffhanger endings.😒 Seriously, I knew I was near the end, but I was still shocked when I turned the page to see “End of Book Two.” Well, Book Three should be out in 6 months or so.
Since I had my bearings from the first book, I enjoyed this more. I am still waiting for a completed redemption arc for a certain character, but I know it’s coming. Once that happens, all will be well, I just know it.💜
Okay, when I started reading, I was like, how did she know I was living through something like Ryn? (I mean, thankfully not a physical war, but yes, a spiritual war). I really wasn't winning, just surviving. So thank you, Jennifer Kropf, for allowing me to experience Ryn's next chapter. It was truly an honor and felt like a big hug to me (this is why you're my favorite author!). Now, to skip my emotional outbursts, let's start with the review.
About Ryn: I like that Ryn's story celebrates taking charge and choosing to stand firm in our identity—not one given by others or the world and its opinions, but the one that's true. She doesn't deny or hide what she is or where she comes from, and that's what gave her the strength to fight.
Now, the ironic aspect of this second book is that we get Ryn torn down (I kind of forgot where we left off, so I had to re-read Book 1). I wasn't surprised about her feeling hopeless; it made her relatable. I mean, I felt the pain, anger, and sadness Ryn experienced—most people do—so it was good to actually SEE a character with raw and relatable thoughts.
It is easy to believe when things are joyful and great, but when things go dark? I believe Ryn's character explores that aspect. Also, it was so well done, focusing Ryn's evolution as an FMC on her resilience during hopeless times. I mean, what is hope but a spark lighting the mist of the darkest moments of our lives? That simple fact of choosing to act even when you don't feel it gave her "Chosen Hero" trope a stronger foundation, at least for me.
We always get writers who make heroes something purely from fantasy or "magical," and they forget the bravery implied in living through trials and doubts about our beliefs. So, I loved that Ryn's development doesn't pause or skip the jail part; instead, her narrative makes it the foundation for her character development and the whole plotline.
About Xerxes: I liked that Xerxes is shown as skeptical of the mystical part of the war. He is shown as precise, strategic, and calculating (those are good qualities in war), but still hesitant to act on impulse or a gut feeling. That showcases that even through Book 1's development, his core personality doesn't change (yet). Another detail I love is his small comments, like in Chapter 13. It was funny that Xerxes's perspective has a very "tired dad" vibe because of the responsibility he bears, while his commanders still consider him a kid.
In the first book, we got to see a very different side of Xerxes compared to this book. In this book, we get the King and General behind the beast that was healed, but what made it interesting is that while the exterior changed, he still had to modify his interior. Also, I liked the fact that he loved his own people; the fact that during the war, in his perspective, his goal wasn't to win at any cost, but for his people to survive.
Now, I have to say, even with all the mature mentality of Xerxes, he was still stuck in love with Ryn. It was very funny reading the drastic change from his narrative being "I can do it alone, I don't need any help" to "I hope a certain maiden comes with that pretty dress." When I read those parts, I couldn't stop laughing and thinking, wow, he really hasn't noticed he's in love, how? Also, he was so Cardan-coded with the dramatic flair! By 2/3 of the book, I was very entertained by his unsuccessful rage-baiting towards Ryn.
About the dynamic between the MCs: Another new dynamic is that during the first part of the book, each MC fights their battles on their own as individuals while they're learning and evolving. Then, when they're stronger, they fight together. We always get MCs that complete each other, like the concept of soulmates, which is just romanticized codependency. So, I applaud that the romance starts with the MCs first knowing how to stand strong on their own, so that when they are together, they stand as a team and as equals.
Ironically, we can compare Xerxes's profile to Ryn's. Both of them were angry, sad, and stubborn; the only difference was that one of them was willing to let go completely of the perception of control.
The other day, I was reading about how we imagine hope as something fragile or easy to break, but in reality, we should imagine it as something dirty and full of scars, getting up and fighting every single time we are scared. I believe that part of staying hopeful or willing to trust was central to Xerxes's and Ryn's growth.
About side characters: I loved the sass from Reza, he's awesome! I love that his interactions with Xerxes were very mentor-like and parental towards him.
And Heva is the absolute hype woman! She's the best friend we need to hold us, our faith, and our convictions when everything wants to bring us down.
Also, I love the found family trope from Ryn's battalion. Through her conviction, everyone grew strong and fought with faith.
About the world-building and plotline: I have to say I'm biased toward the style of creative development that always comes from this author. The complexity of the religious and cultural diversity kept my curiosity piqued. It was very interesting to acknowledge some details and identify what they were based on, but I love the fact that they weren't just rewritten; they were created and introduced in a way that fits perfectly with the plotline and each narrative.
And the multiple POVs were a perfect idea to keep the narrative flowing. Since each perspective is interlocked with the other, it keeps the reader guessing when the MCs are going to clash or see each other, even if they are very close in proximity.
The structure of the world-building felt very Narnia during Prince Caspian with the fantasy-like battles, but also the shadow enemies (we know what they really are, but for "reviewing" purposes I'll call them that) reminded me of Realmbreaker as well as The Agapéd Bearer Series style of enemy.
When I was reading Chapter 34, I completely forgot it was the last chapter and literally screamed 'What?!' at the ending—not because of a crazy plot twist, but because I expected more chapters and suddenly there weren't any! The story had me so hooked that I wasn't ready to leave, and now I desperately need to know what happens next.
Final Thoughts: Now I've got mixed feelings. I'm very sad to have finished reading Book 2, but very excited for everyone else to read it! This book wasn't made to just be read, but to change hearts and thoughts. So, I can tell you with certainty that you're not going to be the same person who started the book.
So buckle up! If you're a reader looking for an inspiring story who enjoys banter like The Cruel Prince, fantasy that feels real like Narnia, and a narrative that comforts and strengthens your heart, The Songs of the Adriels is the series for you!
6/5 stars. This book was so good I couldn’t put it down, and I read it in one sitting. I was so excited, and this book delivered. Jennifer’s writing is so amazing. This review will kinda be all over the place, but here we go.
Ryn is so relatable. The hopelessness she feels, the anger she feels toward God, the feeling of being forgotten, is something I think we all feel. I love how the characters are written and reflect and resemble things we experience in different seasons of our lives. In our walks with God, we all have those moments where we ask where God is, why He isn’t helping us, and what He is doing. We have those moments where we don’t understand what he’s doing, and seeing Ryn go through this was so comforting, and it was written so well. This book showed me the importance of staying with God and how He never leaves us, but we sometimes turn our backs on him. And Ryn’s shock that El never left her despite her turning her back on him was so personal and special to me. Another thing that was so special was seeing Ryn come back to El and seeing Him welcome her back into His presence.
I love the descriptions in this book. I can easily visualize exactly what’s happening and what the characters feel. The pace was perfect, and I stayed hooked the entire time. In this book, we no longer see Xerxes as a troubled man; we see him as a king and warrior, and I really enjoyed the different aspect of his character. It’s such a contrast to the tormented king stuck on an island, and seeing him truly care about his people and their freedom was a chef’s kiss. It was also heart-warming to see Xerxes have someone to take care of him in the desert in the form of Reza. I loved their father-son connection and relationship. It was also nice to see Xerxes question himself, which makes him more relatable. These characters are written flawlessly.
This book is so different from the first one, and I love it. In the first book, you’re in a palace with magic and mosaic dresses. In this book, you’re in the thick of battle--spiritual and physical. And I loved the spiritual elements of these battles. I loved seeing Ryn call on the God original and her spiritual eyes seeing the truth of the war that the others couldn’t see.
My favorite thing was Xerxes acknowledging that he still loves Ryn. His rage baiting her to take off her mask was perfect, and everything regarding the mask and her secret identity was amazing. I loved it so much. Every interaction with the mask was tense. However, it was hard to see Ryn distancing herself from Xerxes while he wanted nothing more than to be with her. She was the only Maiden he wanted, and he kept count of the days she was locked away and truly worried for her safety and well-being. Maybe I’m wrong, but I saw this book as a transition as both characters grow and develop before romantically reuniting. That’s just my opinion. But I felt as if Ryn was guarding her heart from falling in love again. Again, I could be wrong.
I enjoyed seeing Ryn step into her identity as Adassah and grow and mature in her faith and confidence in God Original. I also loved Xerxes crashing out every time God reached out to him.
My only gripe with this book is the long chapters. Personally, and this is me personally, I like shorter chapters. It makes the book easier to digest. But even with these long chapters, I couldn’t put this book down.
“For a moment as she knelt there, she wondered if all those days and nights spent in this terrible prison wouldn’t have been so awful if she’d stayed in his presence the whole time.”
This book was well worth the wait! The Scarlet Star was one of my favorites last year, and I can already tell that The Gold Maiden will be one of my favorites from this year. Jennifer Kropf does such a good job with her writing and storytelling. I had a hard time putting this book down. Also, all of the art is absolutely delightful and the hardcover is stunning! There was tension, there were interactions that had my feet kicking or holding my breath, there was the constant reminder of God's goodness and love and patience as He waits for us. This is absolutely a series I'll be recommending for a long time to teens and adults alike.
Anxiously awaiting this read, as I don't love the cover. The aesthetic doesn't match the first book at all (which I loved with my whole heart). Makes me nervous!!!
This is a story of broken people. Of broken people who only break each other more. But beyond that, and more so, this is a story of redemption. A story where an imprisoned girl can grow into a powerful warrior woman who possesses the true Spirit of the Lord. A story where a broken king can learn that a true leader fights on a battlefield with the people, rather than sits idly on a throne. Where battles happen in a realm unknown rather than in the seen. “Rebuke the fear, go forward” is so much more than an encouragement or a motto, it’s a war cry, a cry for a future outside of darkness, one that stands against it. This book was amazing and awful, and you cannot fully comprehend that until you read it. There were times when I literally had to scream into my pillow. Many times. And yet I cannot but say that this story is incredible, and even though it’s not yet over (which I’m slightly mad about), I can feel where it’s going, and I can’t wait. One of the best parts of this book was seeing the growth of Ryn and Xerxes from book 1, they’re slightly older, a little wiser, and a whole lot more doomed. But this book (and the 1st one) taught me something: Revival happens when a woman of God learns to carry prayers in her heart and the word in her sword. There is a shift in the air when she fighting not only for herself but for the kingdom. A change in the wind when she fights with life-light in her soul to dispel the darkness in others. And if that can’t convince you to read it, I don’t know what will. I cannot, cannot, cannot, emphasise enough Jennifer Kropf’s ability of storytelling with power, grace, and integrity. The type of Christian literature brought by her work is simply not something you see (or read rather) everyday. So if you haven’t already, go read The Scarlet Star, and the moment you’re done, pick up The Golden Maiden, thank me later.
Disclosure: I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Everything in this review is my own thoughts and opinions. Happy reading!
Violence: moderate, not gory what's to be expected in a book about war. People fight, get killed, the like. A few mentions of having someone killed or someone dying. Characters get injured.
Romance: Clean. A kiss or two, closeness, liking another person, the like.
Cursing: Several world specific curses.
Magic: The king's advisers have magic from their 'gods'
Faith: a big part of this book. Praying, trusting God.
Other content: mentions of beings from the underworld, false gods, etc..
Thoughts: Why is it over? I would honestly love to read any books following these characters. I'm not even kidding, I love them.
Ryn: An awesome fmc all round She's inspiring, relatable, and also very sassy. On a more serious note, I really appreciated her faith and how big a role it played in her story. Ryn was struggling, and fell a bit, but got back up through God's grace. She wasn't perfect by a long shot, but she was trying to follow Him. I love it.
Xerxes: A drama queen, and hands down one of my favorites. Also, I love his train of thoughts. They're just so fun to read 🤣 But also, my dude, maybe don't dismiss the peaceful voice that's helped you out of tough situations several times. I get why he does from his point of view, but as a reader, it's a little hard to not scream at the book.
Heva: The friend we all need, and an amazing character in her own right.
Literally every character is great.
Now, onto the story. Upfront, it's a war book. That's the main external conflict in the book. There's also the political aspect of the first book, just dialed down a bit. In this book, I would say there's a bit of a friend group going on, which I love, but it's definitely not the main focus. The faith aspect really shone through in this one, and several of the quotes were just *chefs kiss* it also didn't hit you over the head with it, as other christian fantasy books sometimes do. What's there is revealed naturally and it actually adds to the story.
The romance is a little different, as it's more of Ryn trying to keep her identity hidden from Xerxes and him trying to figure it out. But they still had several sweet moments, don't worry. And the ending... Why, Mrs. Kropf, why? 😭
The only thing I didn't like was a bit of the romance. It might just be me, but I'm not a fan of kissing or things of that nature, but it wasn't too bad, and I'm aware that I'm quite alone on my hill, so I'll hold my peace.
In conclusion, I'll be awaiting the third book and the next chapter of Ryn and Xerxes journey.
Oh my gosh. Were to begin? Mrs. Kropf has done it again. This whole story had me at the edge of my seat, with baited breath, waiting to see how it unfolded. And Mrs. Kropf delivered! I loved every interaction between Xerxes and Ryn. The tension was amazing. I also loved how how clearly you can see how there the demons, and only through El Tsebaoth could she conqueror. And isn't that true for us? Honestly, I loved everything about this book and I could go on and on about all the amazing quotes in this book, but I'll stick to my favorite: "For a moment as she knelt there, she wondered if all those days and nights spent in this terrible prison wouldn't have been so awful if she's stayed in his presence the whole time." Ahhh. So good. Let's be honest, don't we all find ourselves farther away then we want to be from our Father? And lastly, "Oh, Oh that we would rebuke the spirit of fear with the great power in our lungs." Let's wake up. Jesus and His power are real. Let's take the Kingdom back. I loved how we got to see how both Ryn and Xerxes grow, and how real and raw Ryn was. I really appreciated how she had doubt and fear, but with help from Heva, (let's just have a round of applause to this lady. She rocks) Ryn wakes up again. And Xerxes. Oh Xerxes. He's trying so hard. Sigh. What can I say? I love him and seeing him [redacted for spoilers] Oh sorry, did that go out? Wink wink, guess you'll just have to go read it yourself. 😁 This book was so amazing and I am already dying for the third one. I loved seeing more of the incredible world, and meeting new faces.
*Thank you to Jennifer Kropf for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review*
Chilling and thoroughly captivating from the very first page! Watching the aftermath of the choices made in the first book unfold was absolutely gripping, and more than a few twists caught me completely off guard. There was sadness, disappointment, and despair, but there was also joy—even in the quietest moments and the gentlest whispers on the wind.
The sheer frustration of watching the two main characters dance around each other had me wanting to throw my book more than once! But what touched me most was the way this story explores faith—not just faith in a higher power, but faith in yourself and in the people who stand beside you. It's the heart of this series, woven beautifully into every battle, every choice, and every victory. It's a powerful message that will stay with me long after I turned that final page.
Now I'm desperately counting down the days until the next book because I have to know what the king is thinking. And that final scene? Adassah storming into the council, telling them exactly how things should be, then walking away like the queen she is? Absolutely iconic. I am so here for that!
This series has been such a blessing to me. Each book has arrived exactly when I needed it, leaving me encouraged, challenged, and deeply moved. I can't wait to see where this journey leads next because I know even greater things await.
I have been waiting for this book to come out for so long and it was worth the wait. The doubts are real and both Ryn and Xerxes admit and face them. Giving those doubts to the Ultimate Power is humbling for them and for us. Coming face to face with El is life changing and the powers of this world do not like when we listen to His voice.
This story will change you. It will encourage you to keep fighting. It will help you remember who you are fighting and WHO is fighting for you. It will make you look at who is in your life and what influence they are having. Yes, it is just a story, but is it? Is El trying to tell you something? Are you willing to listen? Ryn and Xerxes will NEVER be the same. This war is changing them and their decisions will change a nation.
The battles scenes are epic. The love story will still tug at your heart. (Will these two EVER get together?) The friendships will make you smile. Everything about this book is a masterpiece of His design and I'm so thankful for authors willing to listen and step out in faith and write the Truth. If you read nothing else this summer, read this series!
Hurry up and write book #3. I need to know how this ends. <3
⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ 4.75 The Gold Maiden by Jennifer Kropf is a magnificent, emotionally gripping sequel that completely lived up to the high stakes of the first installment. This second book in the trilogy is just as heart-wrenching as book one, keeping me entirely glued to the pages from start to finish.
The absolute highlight of this story is the incredible depth of character exhibited by the female protagonist. She is tested in every imaginable way, yet the resilience, strength, and grace she shows throughout every single trial are nothing short of inspiring. Alongside her, the male main character—the King—undergoes fantastic growth. Watching his character develop even further while navigating intense palace turmoil and deep betrayal added a brilliant layer of tension to the plot.
The only reason this isn't a full five-star read for me comes down to a minor personal preference regarding the romance. While the love between the two leads is entirely obvious, it felt like their feelings were continually brushed aside for reasons that grew a bit frustrating as the story progressed. Regardless of that minor grievance, the world-building, emotional weight, and character arcs are phenomenal. I am completely invested in this trilogy and cannot wait until book 3!
Where do I begin? With my love for this author or my love for this book? Either way book 2 in the Songs of the Adriels series is astounding. The king of PerSiana has gone to war to save his people from the warlord Alecsander of Brei’Mira. Ryn has been wasting away in prison feeling like the God Original has abandoned her. When the Intelligentsia goes against Xerxes orders and orders the prisons in all the provinces emptied to form burn divisions and fight in the war, Ryn thrust into the desert, leading her division. Miraculously, they win their first battle and she becomes known as the gold maiden, hiding her true identity, eventually coming face to face with xerxes in a last stand battle. The magnetic pull between Xerxes and Ryn leads to so many hold your breath moments of would you just kiss already?!?! I love these 2 and I can’t wait to see what comes next for them. All the characters are so well written, you actually come to despise the bad guys and cheer for the good guys. The extra bad bad guys are terrifying and the battle scenes are action packed. I have yet to read a book I didn’t like by Jennifer Kropf, she is phenomenal!
"At night, the desert was a vast, silvery cage of hills beneath a black, star-scattered sky. Perfect terrain for a kingly beast to roam."
This series is such a joy to read! I am loving the overall strength of faith theme and abiding in the Lord aspect of the story! As a mom of teenagers I love that it is a clean read and is so engaging and exciting! The further growth and development of the characters in this book was encouraging! There were definitely obstacles and struggles and seeing how Ryn and Xerxes approached each one was a good journey!
“I was wrong. I let myself go blind, didn’t I? Forgive me. I don’t want to live that way.” Her tears fell into the sand, her body trembling. “I surrender—again.”
The cliffhangers of the series have been excruciating, but leave me really anticipating the next book! I can't wait to see what happens in book three!
Highly recommend this book!
I was given an advanced reader copy, this is my honest review and opinions are all my own!
The Gold Maiden by Jennifer Kropf Ryn expects to die in battle... Awesome middle book of the trilogy! This one started just a little slower than book 1, as Ryn and Xerxes are separated and the war scene is quite different than the bride competition. But once Ryn and Xerxes meet up again, things really start moving, and I loved it from there on! Ryn being in disguise and Xerxes being just not quiiiiite sure it was actually her was so good. Loved the David and Goliath vibes, and now looking back, I'm seeing a touch of David and Saul in book 1 as well. So well done! Loved the Christian themes throughout. Just a touch of romance since the two main characters are forbidden from being together. Can't wait for book 3! I would highly recommend this series to lovers of clean fantasy! Genre: Christian fantasy Book 2 in Songs of the Adriels (must be read in order) Content: no spice or language, mild fantasy violence
I came into this series just expecting an Esther retelling, but I *love* the David and Joseph elements this book adds to the story! They were blended so seamlessly, and I loved every minute of it!
Ryn and Xerxes are amazing, and oh my goodness... the pining! The forbidden love! The secret identity! It's honestly one of my favorite books this year.
The faith elements are so well done! I think we all have those dark moments where we feel like we've been abandoned, and seeing Ryn overcome that was inspiring. One of my favorite moments is at the end when El finally tells Xerxes his name. Before he claimed to be a friend, because before Xerxes heard his name from Ryn, the name held no meaning to Xerxes. I can't wait to see how that moment effects Xerxes in the next book!
I was given an advance copy and these are my honest thoughts.
I am and will always be a huge fan of Jennifer Kropf! She has a way of telling the most breathtaking stories and leaves you wanting more. This particular book was even better than the first one. I really love our main characters Xerxes and Ryn. Not only does this book have peril and war but has a dash of humor and of course the best slow burn romance!! As a reader who loves faith themed books, I really appreciated the author tying in how faith can help you overcome the hardest obstacles. These character also reflect how when we falter in our faith God is always there and is in constant pursuit of us and wants us to follow Him. I can’t wait for the third book!!!!
Omg I was not prepared for another huge cliffhanger but the ride was so worth it! The spiritual warfare in this book is my favorite and so accurate in. I also loved that I just completed a word study on 2 Chron. 7:14 it was such a confirmation of my own on spiritual journey! Jennifer, you are truly blessed by God to write fantasy that is not only fun but edifying.
Lastly…. If my favorite couple doesn’t fine a way to marry in book 3, I might have to repent for words thought in my brain lol seriously though, I really love Ryan and Xerxes story 🥰🥰 they will live rent free in my brain for a very long time
Excellent! We pick us with Adassah i jail and then she and her guard and the rest of the inmates are drafted into burn units. These burn units are being sent to assist in the war to save her home. I love the growth of the characters. The belief she knows she needs for her god. And the different biblical references. You get to see Adassah come into her strength and courage. You get to see government corruption with the frustrated feelings that go along with it. There are a lot of battle scenes and some gore, but everything is written so well. I could not put this down and I loved every minute of reading it.
Long-awaited sequel to The Scarlet Star did not disappoint. The Gold Maiden is filled with adventure, drama, sass, and surrender. Relationships that continue to build, develop, and surprise all while fighting enemies both seen and unseen. In some ways the story felt like a parable wrapped up in the guise of retold fictional and factual tales.
Unashamedly Biblically-based, The Gold Maiden is a thought-provoking journey through an amazing world.
A powerful second book to the series. What intrigued me was this book could easily be read as a romantasy. It could also easily be read as a spiritual journey with fantasy vibes. Either way you read it, it is hard to put down. Ryn (Adassah) is a powerhouse, especially with the power of El on her side. Between cheering her on and seeing the tension between her and Xerxes, I couldn't put this down. The third book can't come fast enough. Thank you to the author for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own and freely given.
If I could give this book 10/10 stars I would. I loved it specifically because of the spiritual warfare aspect, something that I don’t find covered too often in Christian ya fiction books, but I think that’s what made this book a powerful read.
Yes, the romance between Xerxes and Ryn is beautiful but it’s a reminder that we do not just wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and the rulers of this world. It’s a reminder that through Jesus, we are victorious! I don’t typically reread books but I think I’ll be reading this again.
The first book brought me out of my reading slump several months ago when I discovered it for the first time, hooked me emotionally and then left me with a devastating cliffhanger.
I eagerly awaited this book and it did not disappoint. It was a wonderful continuation that pulled me in and had me reading all night like I did when I was a teenager. My only complaint is now I have to wait until November to see how it ends, but I'm incredibly excited for it!
First of all, if you don't recall the details (or the ENDING!) of book one, stop and do a re-read so you can enjoy this book to its fullest. (Speaking from experience, LOL)
Second, this book is very powerful and I think each person will view it somewhat differently, depending on their own journeys.
Third, this is a book that provides a message.
That's not to say there isn't plenty of tension and action, because there is.
I thought I loved Ryn's journey of faith the first time but as she grows deeper in devotion to El she is true warrior woman of the word. determination and willingness to do as God says is literally all we need when the world is in shadows. I dont get emotional at books often but this is BEAUTIFUL.
Please, please read these books you will not regret it!!!! She has done it again writing a book that left my heart full and my jaw on the floor. Some how she keeps pulling one over on me with her ending! truly the best books I’ve read in my 19 years!! I love her characters, the message, the romance ;), the tension all of it so good.
Take your kingdom back! What a riveting second book in this series! I loved the first book. But I absolutely love this second as well!! If you’re looking for an actioned pack, slow burn, page turner then this book is for you! I absolutely love the parallels to Queen Esther and the power of prayer it shows. I cannot wait for the next book! I needed it like yesterday!
This book was just as amazing as the first! I devoured every page and can’t wait for me!❤️❤️ This series has got to be one of my top favourites out of everything I have read. It was so hard to put down and I was always excited to get back to it.
I waited over a year for this just to be left on another cliff hanger 💔 I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH!! The message is so powerful, and it connects with me so deeply as a teenager in this world we live in.
