I enjoyed this new to me author and I would try more of their books, for sure. My attention span wavered at times and this did take days to finish though. I think the book could have been tightened up and made a little shorter. There are some wonderful aspects that still made it an entertaining read and I think a lot of fellow omegaverse readers would also enjoy.
Written in first person, multi-POV with all the mains. No ow/om drama, however their instincts do get them a little possessive of each other at times (the guys literally get growly over someone else speculating that she could be courted by a pack she hasn’t even met and would have no interest in anyway). All of them had some experience, with light mentions. The MMCs had never shared an omega before (yay) and at least one of them had never knotted anyone before. The FMC hadn’t been with an alpha for her heat in a while and I don’t believe had ever been with more than one partner at a time.

The h is a hair stylist who owns her own omega-friendly salon. She focuses on helping other omegas as well. One of those omegas who works for her is accosted by an alpha and the h whoops him. She was a boss lady and has skills not common to other omegas. I was cheering and then came a bit of fallout because she needed to consider security to protect her staff and business for the future. I did struggle a bit with her as a businesswoman in this capacity. The h was competent and capable, but then hesitant over certain decisions that were so obvious, there was some disconnect. Her brother requests a favor from his bosses and one by one, these alphas meet and fall head over heels for the h.
The guys were fun and hot. Each was very distinct and the author did a wonderful job of building moments between the h and each guy, as well as highlighting them as a pack together. The guys have a pack bond that they communicate through too and it’s sometimes hilarious. It was also interesting that one of the guys is the alpha of the pack of alphas so he had the role of protecting his pack and doing things like ensuring they didn’t tip over into rut, for example. One of the other alphas was neurodivergent and had no filter. I loved when he didn’t understand something so would bluntly ask. It was also heartwarming how reassuring the h was with some of his insecurities. The twins have their own personalities, plus had that brotherly bond and concern for each other.
The story is more relationship-driven, with some plot elements related to actual security needs. I was surprised at some turns this took. I didn’t love some of them and there are times when the “not like other omegas” energy is very strong. She was also very concerned about perceptions related to her business. Leading to the h not always making the wisest initial choice and needing some rescue or talking down from a panic. She does take ownership of poor reactions though, which calls for some vulnerability. The whole group has moments that create a solid sense of intimacy on the emotional level.
Plenty of intimacy on the physical level happening here as well. Very spicy book with one on one scenes and multiple partner scenes. There is a heat scene. They do start getting steamy before being committed to a relationship, because that’s what the h is comfortable with (again, 5 year plan). When the h makes it clear to them that she does want more from them and they start sharing I love you’s, it was very satisfying.
There’s no third act breakup. The relationship takes most of the book to formerly define with courtship and claiming. The third act is focused on some public scrutiny that occurs and that solidification of bonds. The end is HEA with a fully bonded group and them in love.

I'm really pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. It's been awhile since I've read an omegaverse that I really liked. This is a fairly low stakes omegaverse (considering most of them in this genre tend to be super dark). I really liked the FMC, and all of the MMCs are distinct and enjoyable characters. I'm OBSESSED with Sylvan - by far my fav character. I've never read another MMC quite like him (e.g., someone who seems to be neurodivergent / on the spectrum). I went in with low expectations / picked this up on a whim, and I'm really glad that I did.

A perfect 4 star for me. Caveats below, but really I just enjoyed this one and it was the perfect escape for me and that's all I care about rn.

This one is definitely insta-lovey, a little bit of a fast burn, and I'm gonna say it was bordering on erotica with plot bc if it was just a romance, there was basically no plot...but the spice was spiceingggg. I've read many knotting scenes, but some of these were of the better ones. The bark play was a really nice twist. The FMC was given this ability basically just for the sex scenes and I'm not complaining at all. It was hotttt going both ways and I made a new tag just for it because finding this book again two years from now to recommend it if I only put it under the CNC tag probably won't happen.
No OW/OM drama. They haven't even ever brought a woman to their house before. These characters are devoted and sweet even though none of them saw this coming or planned for it to ever happen. Conflict is external and mostly handled off page. Hey, I said there wasn't a ton of plot, but it did set the page for future characters I hope the author writes about.
Also I really like how this author writes omv. While there were some aspects I didn't like (scents came and went), there were a little more shifter aspects here than most omv and I liked that. Would have liked to have seen more world building though, especially with the conflict that was happening around them.
The FMC is an independent businesswoman with highly sought-after talent, a 5-year plan, and no time for alphas to interrupt that.
The MMCs are successful businessesmen with a company to run, and no thoughts about settling down, since none of them have ever agreed on the same woman.
But they all agree on her. 😈
“You might have tried, at first. But my brother and I, we’re relentless.” There’s no lightness in his tone or his gaze. “I’ve never planned for an omega, never wanted one, but I want you.”
And the flirting was good, the dirty talk was also good, but Sylvan's unintended flirting?? Be still my heart.
“I tell you and your brother I’m not looking for anything, and then you send Sylvan in?” I hiss.
He’s still chuckling slightly. “I’m not following...”
“Yeah, right.” I roll my eyes. “The man who can’t lie? Telling me all the things an omega wants to hear? Master of seduction Sylvan!”
They communicated well here, but there were also moments of miscommunication but they were brief and handled with more communication, so I really don't know what that to use in that area....
It was a little long, but it was also mostly spice and I never have a problem with that....😘
Some continuity errors, but nothing huge enough to take me out of the story. Also a lot of size kink bc she's tiny, and they let us know allll the time.
No third act breakup.

95% smut and 5% plot. It's a good change because of the lighthearted tone of the whole relationship between them, but there's barely any plot and the plot that does exist, is very shallow and short-lived.
Revea is strong and knows how to fight but we only ever see that in play once throughout the book and the rest of the book she's just simping over them, so it kinda felt like the whole "badass packless omega" was just for show and not at all different from the rest. Kinda disappointing especially when in the Inferno saga written by the same author, we see a really strong and badass FMC who really lives up to these adjectives.
Unfortunately, for me, this book fell short. If you don't care about the plot and want something more lighthearted, this book is great. But if you need more than just smut to be hooked, I wouldn't recommend this one despite how much I loved Sylvan.

If you love omegaverse, then this one is for you! 👏😮💨 Even better, let this be your introduction. It is so good, everyone is likable, and it was the perfect dynamic on all ends and non-toxic. The spice was so good, and I loved how they were so attentive to her and made sure they didn't overwhelm her. Keep in mind, their services usually extend to notable people who need security and protection services because they're widely recognized. For her, that wasn't the case. Ironically, when she went viral for protecting another omega, she DID need their services because now she was everywhere and needed protection. I fear I love omegaverse. It's a guilty pleasure, and I love everything about it. I loved Syl almost going into a rut and calling Kaiden for backup. The GAG!!! The heat scenes were TOO good. I was having a blast reading this. Syl wanting to bite her and not understanding that it was too soon. He is such a lover boy, and he doesn't even know the half of it. I have an attachment to him the most. I'm president of the Syl protection club! 👏😌💅

EVEN ME??? He doesn't even realize he is so lovable. 🥹🤏🩷 I could CRY. He is so precious, and I can see why others wouldn't understand him. I get him (he is so me). He is blunt and doesn't understand certain social cues, and many things have to be explained to him in black and white terms so he can understand. I love that Revea gets him and does not make him feel different. She is just patient and never makes him feel bad for not seeing what most people might get right away. 🥺He is unintentionally funny and charming, but he doesn't even realize it until the others point it out. It's so him! It's happened to me too, so I understand him entirely. I LOVED all his interactions with her because he speaks what's on his mind, and sometimes he tries to understand certain reactions he gets, but Revea always explains something he doesn't get. Total sweetheart.🥹💞✨
At times, the others tried to reel him in and stop him from saying or doing certain things, but Revea just found it amusing and wholesome. I loved that she knew where it was coming from and that he never had bad intentions. They did get off on the wrong foot when he called her security cameras inadequate, but he hated seeing her hurt (even though he truly did not know what he did wrong because, in his eyes, he stated a fact). She quickly understood that he was not being intentionally hurtful and stopped taking what he said to heart. Other girls had never understood his behavior, and he had never liked or been interested in anyone else, so it was a win for Val and Luc when Syl automatically approved and said he liked her. They cheered! He was the one who found her. He's extremely smart and always makes sure she's safe and protected. He does extreme things to do so, but it's how he shows he cares 💗💫🥹🩷. He even upgraded her to first class on her trip because he wanted her to be more comfortable. I could go on and on about how precious this man is. He is used to apologizing when he's unsure if he has said something wrong, but she told him to stop because she knows what he is trying to get across. I think it's so sweet that he found his person and vice versa, so he doesn't have to mask himself and pretend to be someone he's not because Revea loves his blunt personality and how he doesn't filter his thoughts. Syl, don't ever change! He also talks you through it. 😮💨🫡👏 This man is perfect, no complaints.🩷💖✨

He was down bad from Day 1 just like Luc. Val never gets overemotional, but he leaned into his brother and felt like he had to leave with him or else he didn't know how he would've reacted to Revea saying she needed space. He was hurt (I was hurt too for them). Once the blackmail plotline was revealed, he took care of Revea when she got sick. They all did, but he had experience as a medic, so he was extra gentle and concerned. He just wanted to make sure she was taken care of and safe (like the rest of the pack), but to see someone who is usually closed off be all soft with her was so wholesome. He also has a freaky side to him like the rest. The way it was hard for him to hold back because he wanted her that badly. His alpha would take over and fight with Luc over who could have her first. It was too good, I fear. He always said sorry too. I love him. He was definitely on the more reserved side of the bunch but he’s super protective.

This man was down bad as soon as he saw the CCTV footage and volunteered his security services (even though he is not the pack alpha) because he wanted to meet her. He knew Val would've wanted her too, so he made sure to get his brother to see her after he got hooked from the moment he saw her. Luc is a mastermind! He set his mind to something and went after it. He is definitely a forward person, and it took Revea off guard because she is so business oriented and independent and didn't want a pack. But Luc made her feel cared for and reinforced that she CAN have both and that he would never take those parts of her identity away from her. He loves to see her succeed, and he is even more turned on by the fact that she can bark him into submission. When she got back from her LA trip and ghosted them, he wanted to fight for her, but Kaiden stopped him from going in person. He also wanted to respect her choice for space but didn't really understand where it was coming from because they had really good communication while she was gone. It took Rue calling because he got a similar message from his sister to snap Luc back into worrier mode and out of crash out mode. He was out here begging for her bite. I love when they beg!

He hadn't even met her, but he trusted them when they said Revea was the one for them. As soon as he saw her, he understood exactly what they saw in her and even offered his pack whenever she was in heat. He is so sweet, especially when she was pushing them away and felt like she was in danger. He was so gentle with her and made her feel safe and protected. He went to get her and even said he would leave if that was what she wanted. At the end of the day, he had the utmost respect for her and wanted her to have autonomy as an omega. On the other hand, Revea also loved when he used his bark on her, and he always made sure she was comfortable with it and apologized if he thought he went too far. We love a considerate alpha! He knew how to calm everyone down, and that's why he's the pack alpha! This was so good because Revea was still able to be this independent, successful omega and devote herself to her business while still being doted on by a pack. She can be successful and have love. Two things can be true simultaneously. These were the perfect alphas for her because they loved that she was so ambitious and driven, supported her, and wanted her to succeed.

I would reread this book. It was so entertaining, and I wish this author had more. The writing was just so fun and easy to get into. The ending was so perfect because they were not getting the hints that she wanted the bite, so she had to get it herself after they said they did want her but didn't want her to regret it. I love them!!! 🥹💖

The spice was so good, and I loved how they were so attentive to her and made sure they didn't overwhelm her. Ironically, when she went viral for protecting another omega, she DID need their services because now she was everywhere and needed protection. I fear I love omegaverse. It's a guilty pleasure, and I love everything about it. I loved Syl almost going into a rut and calling Kaiden for backup. The GAG!!! The heat scenes were TOO good. I was having a blast reading this. Syl wanting to bite her and not understanding that it was too soon. He is such a lover boy, and he doesn't even know the half of it. I have an attachment to him the most. EVEN ME??? He doesn't even realize he is so lovable. 🥹🤏🩷 I could CRY. He is so precious, and I can see why others wouldn't understand him. I get him (he is so me). He is blunt and doesn't understand certain social cues, and many things have to be explained to him in black and white terms so he can understand. I love that Revea gets him and does not make him feel different. She is just patient and never makes him feel bad for not seeing what most people might get right away. 🥺He is unintentionally funny and charming, but he doesn't even realize it until the others point it out. It's so him! It's happened to me too, so I understand him entirely. I LOVED all his interactions with her because he speaks what's on his mind, and sometimes he tries to understand certain reactions he gets, but Revea always explains something he doesn't get. Total sweetheart.🥹💞✨

At times, the others tried to reel him in and stop him from saying or doing certain things, but Revea just found it amusing and wholesome. I loved that she knew where it was coming from and that he never had bad intentions. They did get off on the wrong foot when he called her security cameras inadequate, but he hated seeing her hurt (even though he truly did not know what he did wrong because, in his eyes, he stated a fact). She quickly understood that he was not being intentionally hurtful and stopped taking what he said to heart. Other girls had never understood his behavior, and he had never liked or been interested in anyone else, so it was a win for Val and Luc when Syl automatically approved and said he liked her. They cheered! He was the one who found her. He's extremely smart and always makes sure she's safe and protected. He does extreme things to do so, but it's how he shows he cares 💗💫🥹🩷. He even upgraded her to first class on her trip because he wanted her to be more comfortable. I could go on and on about how precious this man is. He is used to apologizing when he's unsure if he has said something wrong, but she told him to stop because she knows what he is trying to get across. I think it's so sweet that he found his person and vice versa, so he doesn't have to mask himself and pretend to be someone he's not because Revea loves his blunt personality and how he doesn't filter his thoughts. Syl, don't ever change! He also talks you through it. 😮💨🫡👏 This man is perfect, no complaints.🩷💖✨

I don’t know how they look away, because she is bewitching.
He was down bad from Day 1 just like Luc. Val never gets overemotional, but he leaned into his brother and felt like he had to leave with him or else he didn't know how he would've reacted to Revea saying she needed space. He was hurt (I was hurt too for them). Once the blackmail plotline was revealed, he took care of Revea when she got sick. They all did, but he had experience as a medic, so he was extra gentle and concerned. He just wanted to make sure she was taken care of and safe (like the rest of the pack), but to see someone who is usually closed off be all soft with her was so wholesome. He also has a freaky side to him like the rest. The way it was hard for him to hold back because he wanted her that badly. His alpha would take over and fight with Luc over who could have her first. It was too good, I fear. He always said sorry too. I love him. He was definitely on the more reserved side of the bunch but he’s super protective.

This man was down bad as soon as he saw the CCTV footage and volunteered his security services (even though he is not the pack alpha) because he wanted to meet her. He knew Val would've wanted her too, so he made sure to get his brother to see her after he got hooked from the moment he saw her. Luc is a mastermind! He set his mind to something and went after it. He is definitely a forward person, and it took Revea off guard because she is so business oriented and independent and didn't want a pack. But Luc made her feel cared for and reinforced that she CAN have both and that he would never take those parts of her identity away from her. He loves to see her succeed, and he is even more turned on by the fact that she can bark him into submission. When she got back from her LA trip and ghosted them, he wanted to fight for her, but Kaiden stopped him from going in person. He also wanted to respect her choice for space but didn't really understand where it was coming from because they had really good communication while she was gone. It took Rue calling because he got a similar message from his sister to snap Luc back into worrier mode and out of crash out mode. He was out here begging for her bite. I love when they beg!

He hadn't even met her, but he trusted them when they said Revea was the one for them. As soon as he saw her, he understood exactly what they saw in her and even offered his pack whenever she was in heat. He is so sweet, especially when she was pushing them away and felt like she was in danger. He was so gentle with her and made her feel safe and protected. He went to get her and even said he would leave if that was what she wanted. At the end of the day, he had the utmost respect for her and wanted her to have autonomy as an omega. On the other hand, Revea also loved when he used his bark on her, and he always made sure she was comfortable with it and apologized if he thought he went too far. We love a considerate alpha! He knew how to calm everyone down, and that's why he's the pack alpha! This was so good because Revea was still able to be this independent, successful omega and devote herself to her business while still being doted on by a pack. She can be successful and have love. Two things can be true simultaneously. These were the perfect alphas for her because they loved that she was so ambitious and driven, supported her, and wanted her to succeed.

I would reread this book. It was so entertaining, and I wish this author had more. The writing was just so fun and easy to get into. The ending was so perfect because they were not getting the hints that she wanted the bite, so she had to get it herself after they said they did want her but didn't want her to regret it. I love them!!! 🥹💖

Revea is fiercely independent, which isn't necessarily a positive in this world. Omegas are seen as fragile and to many people only valuable in service to their alpha's. Revea's worked hard to build a life and business on her own. So when the Vale pack shows up to provide security for her business and are completely smitten, she is hesitant to start something.
These are the kind of alphas I like in omegaverse. All in and completely obsessed but not overly pushy. They want her, they tell her right from the jump that they do but the reasons they like her are the same reasons she isn't jumping head first into a pack. I really liked that despite a few freak outs for drama's sake (there needs to be a little drama), Revea and the guys have some real and honest conversations. They admit when they mess up, that they are scared, communicate their needs. They had such different goals at the beginning and I thought this did a great job of showing the very real growing pains of starting a pack. It all felt earned.
If you read this for nothing else, Sylvan alone would make it worth it. It isn't expressly stated but it's obvious he is on the spectrum. Has no filter and takes everything literally. I loved that the other guys were constantly trying to reign in the 100% brutally honest things he would do and say but it just made Revea like him that much more. His accidental seduction was hilarious. Women crave honesty!!
Minus a star because the last half was basically spice. Good spice, solid spice, but it was a lot. There is also a weird plot line where Revea ghosts everyone for a couple days. The reason why felt out of character from what we had learned about her so far. Felt like drama for drama's sake but overall this was a fun, omegaverse with a very strong willed omega and men who worship her.

Did I enjoy it anyway? Hell, yeah.
So, this book is not for inexperienced readers, so if you haven’t already read any Omegaverse stuff, I don’t recommend starting from this one.
Overall, it was okay.
MMCs were tolerable, the only thing was that they all were shallow, and some of their individual qualities were shown at the extreme, I guess, so the readers were able to differentiate them easier.
I’m not sure I liked how one of the male characters’ neurodivergence was portrayed. It looked like he was a very naive child. I think, it could have been more subtle. Cause I felt bad for him almost all the time.
Also, the FMC is a total Mary Sue. Not only was she an independent, strong and powerful woman, but she also was an absolute beauty and everyone was almost dying to get to her. She was flawless, and this was kinda off putting.
And last but not least the book was about 80% smut and 20% plot. But this is something I have expected, so not a problem. But I would have loved to see getting to know you moments and dates
Overall, could have been worse, but I guess if you are into the genre, this book would be fine.

The first third was good, then it devolved to all smut and illogical, out-of-character actions.
How is she this super independent, bad ass omega who is supposedly good under pressure, but gets a bit of pressure and completely falls apart, isolates herself, and spirals into mental outcomes that make zero sense? How are you playing up all this tactical thinking because she has a military family background and she's sooooo different than other girls, er I mean omegas, but can't think her way out of a paper bag?
What was the point of excluding scent matches and fated mates only to have them fall into insta-love/lust, being obsessed with her and her scent, and the need to possess her?
The bark play was weird. Having an omega trained to resist a bark is nothing new. An omega who can bark an alpha into submission? That doesn't compute for me.
Is Sylvan a grown man or a child? I honestly couldn't tell. At the age he is supposed to be and as intelligent as he is supposed to be, why has he not learned how to mimic social interactions? One confused apology, fine. An entire book of confused apologies was irritating.

3.5 stars: I found the concept refreshing as the main heroine has her own business and despite her designation, she manages to put in the time and effort into her endeavours. I particularly liked the fact that she offers position to those in need, other omegas who have found themselves in less than fortunate circumstances or those that have been through some traumatic experiences. Another aspect, which I did greatly appreciate were the main male characters, each one was quite distinct, had their own background stories that were slowly introduces as the story developed. Frankly, I liked them more than the FMC, they were consistent in their attitude, devotion and care.
Although I appreciated the good deeds of the leading lady, I found some of her choices quite irrational at times and a tad immature. It was not just in regard to the pack, but also when it came to her brothers. One gets the sense that there is a close relationship between the siblings, but some of her choices kind of contradicted that for me.
In terms of romance, there was certainly greater emphasis on the physical aspects, which would be expected in an Omegaverse. However, I thought that the guys were much more emotionally attached to her than she was. At least that has been my perception of the entire story. I liked the story though it could have been a tad shorter and for me some parts felt unnecessary. I have read another book by the same author, which I absolutely loved, but this one simply did not flow as smoothly for me.
Overall, this was a pleasant read and I would be interested to read more books by this author.

This reverse-harem romance (mfmmm) features alpha/omega dynamics. I appreciated how the story focuses on omegas reclaiming their independence and highlights the strength and caring nature of the MFC. The MMCs, *swoon*, are consistently supportive and always by her side. Including a neurodivergent male character adds to my interest! The romance is intensely spicy and fiercely fought for, making it a compelling read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Initially I was really hesitant of the amount of men for a contemporary leaning omegaverse standalone but each of them were well developed and easily stood out, both in the book and for what I’ve read in the genre. In reality? All omegaverses are 2 maybe 3 stars becuase they're all smut no plot (this one included). HOWEVER I'm rating this one on my very professional omegaverse ranking system. It's just better than they usually are and the vibes are there so 4 stars. I ate it up ngl
What sets this one apart from others in its genre is the FMC. Usually they're meek, quiet, wounded, and needing saving from "strong alphas". Not this one though. She's strong. She's independent. She grew up around strong military alphas and learned some traits, to the point she thought she was going to be an alpha. So it was refreshing that she wasn't avoiding eye contact, and could easily bark back.
It was very light for it being an omergaverse, at least when it comes to the main characters. No third act breakup. The plot was somewhat there but we aren't here for that anyway. Smut was good.
Yes its insta lust, but it's an omegaverse so that's basically required. Our MMCs have uniqueness and are absolutely on their knees for our FMC. All good things for the genre.

This was my first ever omegaverse and I am sold, the sisterhood Revea has with her staff and the brotherhood dynamic of the pack is just beautiful, they really look after each other 🥹 Revea learns it's ok to not do it all by yourself and it's really healing to see an FMC accept help. The spice is 😘 I was giggling and kicking my feet at some of the scenes and of course MK brings us to the edge, I love that Revea doesn't just take it she gives it back too and the boys are obsessed!!

Shear Instinct by indie author M.K. Michelle is one of the best Omegaverses I’ve ever read. It’s an immediately endearing and wholly satisfying standalone that I binge read with a singleminded focus: more, more, more.
An ex-military pack of four distinctly different but powerful and protective alphas. One spitfire salon-owning Omega with pink hair, high heels and a bark strong enough to stop an alpha in his tracks (and from c*mming in his pants). I loved everything about it. Down bad and all in alphas willing to respect boundaries but not afraid to give chase and communicate intent? Yes. A thousand times yes.
Shear Instinct is low-stakes with a guaranteed HEA but it’s not quite cozy. It’s grounding in how uncomplicated and refreshing it is. It doesn’t sacrifice emotional depth or plot, though, and it’s not without navigating complex and nuanced relationships. Very good for a debut omegaverse. The different setting was interesting and fresh. I liked that nearly all the story focused on advancing the relationships instead of adding extra "real life" scenes that ultimately would have been unimportant filler.
There were some author choices that never work for me personally: bark play, having a pack/lead alpha directing sexual contact, and BDSM activities during a heat. I also think the specific scents of all the characters needed to be used more.
I can see why people liked this so much, and I'm interested to see what other omegaverse stories this author writes.

The way this was good as fuck???? Hello????? Like I’m taken aback? Spicy as heck, great plot, interesting characters?? It had it all. The only thing is that it did kind of have a bit of a pacing issue towards the end BUT it was not bad at all. It just kind of slowed down and took me out a bit. And I wanted to see more of them in the “after” yanno? But I literally devoured this in a dayyyyyy it was so good. Spice scale 4/5 🤪🤪 the barking from EVERYONE?? Girl everyone was freaked out as fuck, hallelujah. And even more than that I LOVED the characters. Syl specifically had me tearing up OFTEN and Luc. Val felt like the only one slightly pushed to the side at times. But Jesus this was GREAT

Holy shit, there are genuinely no words for me to explain how good this was. I don’t normally post reviews but M.K. Michelle always manages to come up with the most perfect masterpieces ever. This was my first time reading omegaverse and once I saw that my girl published this i had to immediately get myself a copy.
If this is your first time picking up her books, I 100% suggest reading her ongoing series because i LIVE for that.

This was a fantastic book! I really enjoyed the different take on OV in this one! I love Sylvan so much, I wanted to give all the MMCs a hug at multiple points. They were so down bad for Revea from the beginning even though she was fighting it for over half the book basically. They were slight miscommunications but were always resolved quickly.

An Omegaverse where we have 4 ex military alphas and an omega with just as bigger bark as them 👀 yes please!!
M K Michelle has absolutely blown me away with this first dip into Omegaverse - i can honestly say this book was entirely unique to anything i have read in this genre. I loved our FMC Revea, an Omega raised by strong alphas she can hold her own and doesn’t need a pack, the fact she runs a hair salon which employs omegas who need a safe space immediately won me over as well.
Now let’s get started on the men! Luc with his charming personality, Val the quiet brooding one, Kaiden the pack leader who is ALL alpha 👀 and the one that won the part of my favorite, Sylvan, one of the best written neurodivergent (although this is not explicitly stated in the book its written so well it’s obvious) characters i have come across! His black and white view of the world and hilarious one liners made him so endearing and the way the pack explains things to him and gives him his space is honestly amazing.
Its so rare for a why choose to not feel rushed when its in one book, essentially you have to build four relationships where usually theres only one! This book did this so perfectly, each Alpha gets time with Revea and we see each relationship grow organically, while we do have complimentary scents this is not a fated mates world and there is choice in forming packs.
Now the spice!!!
The dirty talk, the twin sandwich, the heat spike and the last 20% of this book - just wow - and can anyone say bark play (a new trope i need in every future Omegaverse book please!!!). It never felt forced and each alphas personality shines through whether 1 to 1 or in a group - Revea also gives as good as she gets!!
I absolutely hope we get even more Omegaverse from this author - there were so many characters whose stories need telling in this book and i will be picking up any future books by this author!!

Wow, what a nice surprise that was. Honestly I have no idea why I picked this up when my tbr is so long and I have so many ARC reviews due not to mention a few betas in the stack. I’m soooo behind. 😅 But I’m f***ing glad I did. I saw this posted on the Reverse harem Reddit group and went to add it and thought, you know what I’m actually really in the mood for an omegaverse book and opened it right away. Bravo M.K. Michelle 👏 👏 👏 from reading the authors note not only is this her first foray into Omegaverse it’s only the third book I see listed on her profile and let’s just say you nailed it.
I was a little hesitant when I saw the no fated mates or scent mates in her worlds because that’s usually part of what I like in one of these but I ended up not even missing it.
The other thing I absolutely loved is… can you believe this… the FMC was NOT KIDNAPPED at any point in this book 😳. Ok so maybe the plot isn’t that suspenseful but idc what it might lack there it makes up for in tension. The spice is oh so decadent. This RH book is ALL about the banter, relationships, and tension. I absolutely could not put it down, was huddled in my bed at 3 am with my kindle hoping my husband didn’t wake up a notice I was still reading that late.
I usually like to give constructive feedback but honestly I got nothing. Maybe the cover isn’t the best, even that just needs some tweaking to make it to a more professional standard. And when you’re ready for audio don’t go too cheap you’ll need a dually narrated POV. I hope more people pick up this gem it’s fantastic.
PS Slyvan is what makes this a masterpiece RH Omegaverse read 😍 🔥 🌶️

Hands down, this is my new favourite omegaverse book! 😍 It had absolutely EVERYTHING I could want. Obsessed alphas, an independent omega, amazing chemistry, so many spicy scenes, and moments that had me giggling, swooning, and genuinely wishing I was the FMC.
I absolutely loved Revea. She was strong and independent, but it was written in a way that never felt frustrating or overdone, which is something I sometimes struggle with in books. She was easy to root for, and I loved watching her relationships with each of the MMCs develop.
Speaking of the MMCs… I adored every single one of them. Luciano, Valentin, Kaidan, and Sylvan all own a security company, and each of them had their own distinct personality, so they never blended together. I loved seeing how protective, caring, and completely obsessed they were with Revea.
The banter between the characters was so much fun, and there were so many sweet, funny moments mixed in with the spice that made me fall even more in love with the story. The pacing kept me hooked from beginning to end, and I never wanted to put it down.
This is an MFMM romance, and if you love possessive alphas, an omega who can hold her own, found family vibes, incredible chemistry, and plenty of spice, I honestly can’t recommend this enough. Easy 5 stars and a book I’ll be thinking about for a long time!

Refreshing, Necessary, and Incredibly Special
Shear Instinct is an incredibly special and refreshing take on the Omegaverse, de-centering patriarchal ideas of submission, gender roles and female autonomy, supported by the removal of scent matches and the inclusion of bark play. M.K. Michelle does an incredible job of disassembling fundamental Omegaverse tropes and rebuilding them in a way that emphasizes consent and empowerment. What she has done with the concept of barking, traditionally a method of control over omegas, has poignantly taken that oppression and transformed it into power, creating something new, consensual and, frankly, hot as hell.
Shear Instinct is a celebration of female community and everything a woman can do even when society tells her she can’t. It is also a stunning reminder of what relationships can be when we value communication, emotional intelligence and healthy boundaries. M.K. Michelle is a strong, necessary voice and I sincerely hope she continues to bless our Omegaverse community. Five stars.

I need everyone to understand that this book DRAGGED me out of a 9 month reading slump by the ankles. NINE. MONTHS. I was convinced my attention span was dead, my Kindle was decorative, and romance books no longer sparked joy. Then Shear Instinct came along and suddenly I’m ignoring responsibilities, staying awake until stupid o’clock, and emotionally attached to fictional people again.
For M.K. Michelle’s first omegaverse??? EXCUSE ME??? Why was it this good??? BECAUSE MK KNOWS HER SHIT AND SHE DELIVERED!!!!
The writing is ridiculously smooth. No awkwardness, no info dumping, no forcing myself through chapters. It just flows so naturally that I absolutely inhaled this book. The plot kept moving, the chemistry was INSANE, and every single character felt memorable.
And Sylvan… unfortunately that man now pays rent in my brain permanently. Easily my favourite. The intensity??? The devotion??? The vibes??? I’m unwell. 🤒
What really got me was how FUN this book felt while still having emotional depth. It had tension, possessiveness, humour, chaos, spice! literally everything I want in an omegaverse. You can tell the author had so much fun writing it because that energy jumps straight off the page.
Anyway. I’m obsessed. My reading slump is cured. Sylvan owns my soul. I need the next book immediately before I start chewing on furniture. 🪑

They’re always there for her, being protective and never letting any doubts she mights have about their relationship get them down.
They’re always trying to find ways to protect both Revea and their future with her.
I absolutely loved how each alpha meets and develops their own relationship with Revea, and how they become close and intimate in their own time. The intimate scenes are also incredibly passionate and steamy, and the bark play was super hot and original to read.
I can’t wait to read more from this author!
