Abby Corman has built a gateway machine to parallel worlds but when she wants to be cautious in the testing before fully opening it she is fired. Her boss brings in a disgraced scientist who has already caused a horrific accident, looking for fame, they open it wide and the result is devastating. Hundreds are killed by the first pulse wave, Manhattan is in ruins and deadly creatures from parallel worlds start coming through killing many people in the building. A hunter calling Abby the Mother of None has come to kill her. Meanwhile, Abby's boyfriend David a former soldier has arrived at the building to save her. As each new pulse wave hits things go from bad to so much worse. Can Abby, her friend Rosa and others shut the Gateway and will David reach Abby in time? This is another awesome tale from Maberry that I highly recommend to fans of the Sci-fi/horror genres. I loved this book and I'm looking forward to the next books in the series.
