I’m a longtime romance reader turned author, writing stories where women choose their own fate and the monsters aren’t always the villains. Paranormal, sci-fi, and fantasy romance keep me fed—and I’ll never say no to a fated mate with dangerous hands and a soft spot for the one they’d burn the world for.

This was a ARC received from the author.
Even spicier than the 1st book. The mysteries continue but are revealed beautifully in this 2nd book in the duology. The FMC became more & more comfortable with her newfound gifts. The MMC learned to lean in to trusting her instincts.

Marica Black delivered again! Sai and Hakeem are fantastic, and have both grown since their first book. The passion between them sizzles, and it is so fun to watch the real love grow. Of course, this all happens in the midst of deadly vampire political intrigue, with some solid witch interference, and it is particularly fun to watch Sai come into her powers. Look out anyone who ticks her off! Yet another fantastic story, and I really hope King gets a story down the line—he was deliciously intriguing on the periphery of this one. Spicy, paranormal romance, strong heroine, Black vampires, and lots of fun!

I loved this book, I loved the premise and pacing of this book . I loved the relationship between Hakeem and sai. Sometimes her stubborness annoyed me but I understand as someone with a particular kind of parent ,I understood her need to close herself off and just do things herself . I infact know all skinfolk ain't kinfolk but I didnt see the twist coming lol. Also if Chem doesnt get a spinoff I will riot . I love stories that are unapologetically black but dont lose their integrity and this one did a great job.

I absolutely loved this sequel! Sai is still being stubborn, and Hakeem is still making sure she’s good. I love how patient he is with her, and even when he has to put her in her place, he always does it respectfully.

We also get to learn more about Hakeem and his sister’s past, along with discovering more about Sai’s father. And let me just say, I am Robert and Andrew’s BIGGEST HATER. I cannot stand either of them!

One of my favorite things about this book is Hakeem and Chem’s friendship. Even though Chem is Hakeem’s first-in-command, he still jokes around with him, and I love that dynamic between them. Honestly, I hope Chem gets his own spin-off because I would love to learn more about him and his story!

Overall, this was such a good read, and I’m loving this series more and more. Marcia Black has me invested in these characters, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Finally!! All the begging I did for a part two was worth it. There were so many plots working at one time. Maria Black definitely curated an amazing part two. Hakeem really stepped his game up in this book. Sai was still her but we get to find out so much more about her. Actually part two connected so many dots. Without giving any spoilers, just know I was hooked from beginning to end! A must read! Side note: I love me a vampire with golds. Hakeem is my man okay?!

Received an ARC copy of this book. This was a good duology! (Read book one just before reading this). Glad Sai finally learned to trust Hakeem and lean on him when needed. Loved the way real-life issues like racism can be viewed in a paranormal setting. Will be reading the other book(s) related to this series and more from this author in the future.

Marcia Marcia Marcia!

Now this is how you bring everything full circle. Its nothing like a man giving you space and crowding you at the same time. Sai and Hakeem complimented each other perfectly. I shed tears of laughter and empathy. It was so good!
