Lights, Camera... YeehawHollywood starlet Sadie Clark has it all—beauty, talent, and a phone that never stops ringing. That is, until her cowboy-actor boyfriend dumps her in a viral social media post, and her red-hot career goes ice-cold overnight. Now, the only job she’s offered is a low-budget film on a Wyoming dude ranch. It’s not what she planned—but she’s surprised by how much she loves it… and by the real cowboy who’s impossible to ignore. Somewhere between heartache and “yeehaw,” she discovers her worth doesn’t come from headlines, and that God’s script is always better than her own.
This book was amazing!! All her books are literally SO good!! I loved Rhett and Sadie so much!! She has the best names for her characters they are so unique and pretty!! This book is so funny and Molly is hilarious and I was laughing at what she was saying like constantly!!🤣 Pat was literally so sweet and she definitely wanted them to like each other so bad!! She reminded me of Mrs. Bennet a little😆
This was my 3rd book by Cassandra Joelle, and was by far my favorite so far. I didn't love her last release (mainly because of the FMC), but this one was SO good! I loved the characters, the plot, the setting, and the faith in this story. This will be a hard story to beat!
Sadie (such a cute name!) is a new-to-Hollywood starlet with a hot actor boyfriend and budding career. That is, until her cowboy obsessed boyfriend tries to push her purity boundaries and then spreads lies that ruin her career. Left with no job prospects she heads home, only to have an indie Christian film company offer her a role filming in Wyoming on a ranch. Sadie eagerly accepts, and it's love at first sight when she steps foot on the ranch, and love at first sight when she first lays eyes on Rhett, the ranch owners' son. She tries to avoid her attraction to Rhett, because the last thing she needs is another romantic entanglement causing a scandal. But Rhett is a REAL cowboy– entirely too masculine and genuine compared to her sad excuse of an ex-boyfriend. While Rhett teaches Sadie how to ride horseback for her movie role, she teaches him to open his heart to love and take a risk when it's easier to stay safe. As the movie wraps, Sadie has to decide between a future in film or a life in Wyoming with Rhett.
The characters in this story were superb. I loved Sadie and Rhett and their romance. I loved Pat, Rhett's mom, and her warm-hearted meddling. Sadie's phone conversations with her best friend, Molly, were so sweet, and even Sadie's agent Janie had her back. Tommy, Sadie's actor boyfriend at the beginning of the book, was such a great example of someone claiming they are a Christian, while bearing zero fruit that show they actually follow Christ. He was entirely unlikable, and I loved that Sadie ditched him early on as soon as his true colors started to show. I also really liked that Sadie saw the dark side of Hollywood in general, and instead of chasing fame, she chose to use her talent in a God-honoring way. The ending to the story was so sweet and wholesome, and I really enjoyed it!
As usual, the story had moderate to strong faith content, and it was genuinely central to Sadie's thought life and actions. Rhett also had a strong relationship with God, and was willing to sacrifice his desires to honor Sadie's calling. Sadie demonstrated what it looks like to go through hardship with grace, and not to lower yourself to retaliation and resentment, but to instead pray for those who hurt you. It was entirely convicting to a personal situation currently going on in my life, and God used this story to reaffirm what He asked me to do (or not do) in response to the situation. A mark of a great book is that it has applications and takeaways for our own lives, and this book did that.
What I enjoyed: 🦝 Cowboy/ranch characters & setting 🦝 Themes of Hollywood shallowness 🦝 A kind, humble FMC 🦝 Strong, masculine, protective MMC 🦝 Pat & her cooking 🦝 Horseback riding training 🦝 Pink sweater wearing raccoons

If you are new to Cassandra Joelle books, I highly recommend this one as a great place to start. All of her books are adorable and faith-filled, but this one really checked of all of the boxes for what I love in a Christian rom-com!
Such a cute, quick read full of Jesus, banter, & cowboys 👏🏻
I absolutely loved the Molly & Sadie text threads & phone calls. Molly was so funny.
Insta-love is one of my least fav things, but this was still super cute!
📖: 1st person, dual POV 🤬: no foul language 🌶️: kisses only ⚠️: defamation of character, talk of past alcohol use (nothing drawn out or anything, just mentioning here)
Huge thank you to Cassandra for allowing me to be an early reader 🫶🏼
Content warnings ~ Actor lies about our FMC and ruins her testimony ~ A few non described kisses ~ Hand touches and hugs ~ Our FMC calls our MMC " hot" ~ the slang word " Heck" is used throughout the novel.
My summarization
The story follows Sadie and her life after someone spreads false rumors about her, She is an actress trying to find her footing in Hollywood as a Christian woman.
My thoughts
I have read a few books by this author so I expected to have a five star! This author never disappoints! Her books are always so sweet, so swoony and so clean! More than that though the face content is always spectacular! But for some reason I felt like the fifth content in this book was better than even her last books! ( Don't get me wrong the faith content has always been amazing) I loved how she emphasized purity and the importance of waiting on intimacy until after marriage!! We don't find a lot of books like that anymore even in Christian fiction, and I loved that so much!!
I also loved the insta love trope I know a lot of people do not like this but my husband and I instantly fell in love with each other and we've been married for 5 years so I know it works! Love at first sight is very real because I've experienced it! Not only was this trope well done, BUT there was no content other than this light ones that I mentioned that aren't really that bad LOL. There was no intimacy, there was no cursing and there was no scenes that made me uncomfortable.
This book is hilarious, and I loved Molly!! I just wish that we would get a book about her and her love story because she is hilarious! I loved the texting!
Cassandra is so witty, she had me giggling through the whole book!
I love how Christian values are throughout the story! The Characters were perfectly written and executed! I will always read a Cassandra Joelle novel. This one such a beautiful love story that feels like real life.
Thank you for continuing to have standards to write clean romance that even I would let daughter read some day. Thank you also for allowing me the opportunity to be an ARC on this book!!💕✝️
Always 5 stars! I love how the author addresses realistic temptations from the world and instead of letting her characters succumb to those temptations, she has them be realistic but stand strong and glorify God. Also, the scenery in this book was written so well I felt like I could hear the river, smell the fresh air, and see the sunrise.
I always love Cassandra’s book and this one was no different! I love how God is always the center of the relationship in her books. Rhett and Sadie were so sweet, I loved how they grew in their own lives and also into their relationship.
I loved this book so much! It was so cute and relatable, I was able to connect to the characters and understand how they feel in certain moments. And… OMG the ending was AMAZING! Get a copy right now!
I am really loving how Cassandra Joelle’s writing is developing. Each time I read one of her books, I think she can’t top it, and then she does. The characters are real, entertaining, Christian people that I want to learn more about. It is such a joy to spend my time reading her stories. In this book the FMC is an actress in Hollywood and the MMC is a small town cowboy. Also, pet raccoons…now you have to read it 😂. 5⭐️
