About the author

Dr. Rajendra Prasad is a Condensed Matter physicist, whose chief interest lies in the Electronic structure of materials. Currently, he is working on topological insulators, multiferroic systems and amorphous semiconductors using density functional theory and LDA + U methods. Dr. Prasad is also interested in compuational materials design, molecular dynamics simulations and genetic algorithms. Apart from core courses, he has offered electives like Mean field theories of disorder, Computer simulations in physics and Electronic structure of materials. He is a fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India and member of IPA, MRSI, APS and IAPT.
