Phillipa Ashley is a number one bestselling author of more than thirty romance novels, and having enjoyed several of her previous books, I was really looking forward to this one. A Wedding Under the Cornish Sky has that familiar blend of charm, warmth and gentle escapism she does so well, and it was a pleasure to dive back into her storytelling.
When Zennor was enjoying her dream Cornish wedding to Trev, she was stunned when a very drunk Matt — her first love — appeared to sing at the reception and blurted out that he’d seen Trev kissing one of the waitresses. Five years later, with the marriage long over, Zennor is living alone in St Ives and building a business with her best friend. The last thing she expects is for Matt to return to the area and turn out to be her new landlord — and she’s convinced she hates him for ruining her wedding… doesn’t she?
What really lifts the story is the gorgeous Cornish setting, with its sweeping beaches, rugged cliffs and that soft, golden light that seems to settle over everything. Phillipa Ashley captures the landscape so vividly that you can almost feel the sea breeze and hear the gulls overhead. Another great story from Phillipa Ashley, I so enjoyed this one. The main character, Zennor, was beautifully written and I had a huge amount of empathy with her. The wonderful Cornish setting made me start dreaming of glorious summer holidays and this book is just ideal reading for on the beach or by the pool. Just perfect.

Another great book from Phillipa Ashley!
Zennor , the main character, is easy to empathise with and as the story goes on, one easily becomes attached to the outcome and emotional about her life and the decisions she has to make. Being set in Cornwall only improves the story.
Summer reading at its best.

An easy read. This was a let yourself go with the flow of the story. Lost loves, old heart aches, new challenges and a happy ever after at the end. The ex husband was as narcissistic as I thought when he was first introduced so that wasn't much of a shocker. Yet there were other twists and turns within the plot.
