Some parts of this book were laugh out loud funny but maybe not as many parts as some other comedians books that I have read.
I found this book more a memoir of living with a disability and breaking down barriers that society impose on people with disabilities. Chris writes about his sight loss in a way that raises awareness whilst showing what can still be achieved.

Quite possibly my favourite autobiography. As well as coming across as being a thoroughly nice bloke, he’s also a great comic, a devoted husband and father and an advocate for not letting disability define what you can and can’t do.

As a comedy fan and definitely not a dancer, even the chapters about Strictly were an interesting read - I wish I’d watched his appearances now with Dianne Buswell! Hopefully they’ll be some highlights on YouTube!

Of course, adding to the “not letting disability define you” is the fact that Chris has also written an excellent book.

A very, very good example of its genre, and a thoroughly good read from a thoroughly nice bloke. Generally I wouldn't give any celebrity memoir five stars, but this walks the fine line of being very funny without rehashing his old stage material, and brings his blindness home with very personal feeling. Plus having worked one of his shows I can testify he's a perfectly decent man in the flesh, too, so what's not to like?

I enjoyed most of this book, the beginning, that told Chris's account of gradually losing his sight over a period of 25 years, and the end, about his incredible time on Strictly was very inspiring and a joy to read, the middle part about his comedy circuit was less so, for me.
The book gave me further insight on the difficulties faced by visually impaired friends that I have, they never fail to amaze me. Their courage and ability to embrace everything life has to offer it's incredible.

Absolutely loved watching Chris on the 2024 series of Strictly, and I wanted to know more about him and his career.
This book made me laugh out loud a view times and I'm very happy I've read it.
