WELCOME BACK TO THE CABRERAVERSE!!

Jones 2023 by Devin Cabrera is a visceral delight. Jones Jepsen is everybody's favorite serial killing ghost and he has returned to the spotlight in 2023 after spending three decades lying beside his beloved in her grave. This story is the kind that feels effortlessly cool while still being deeply engaging. The narrative moves with this easy confidence, stitching moments and characters together in a way that feels intentional and electric. This also shows how talented Devin's writing is as he weaves a multitude of characters and perspectives that would feel overwhelming, but instead blends them to bring to life a horrific narrative. Everything feels lived‑in, like you’ve been dropped straight into a specific slice of time and place and told to keep up. There’s a real sense of momentum here, where scenes flow naturally into one another, and the story never loses sight of what makes it compelling in the first place.

What really sold me, though, is how enjoyable it is to exist inside this world. Cabrera knows how to balance humor, heart, and sharp observation, making the story feel both grounded and wildly entertaining. There are cameos, and appearances of characters you might never see coming (because they may or may not be of this mortal plain). The connections between characters feel organic, the dialogue crackles, and there’s a playful energy running through the book that makes it hard not to smile while reading. Jones 2023 is a story that you will LOVE if you've taken a special interest in Jones Jepsen like the rest of us. And if you needed an extra push to start this trilogy, then let this review be it. THIS SERIES IS A DELIGHTFULLY BLOODY TIME! Mallets swing, top hats flourish, and gore abounds. OH, and if you were curious exactly how Welcome to Nightmare Island starts out, then this book will lead you perfectly to that moment. It is not one to miss!

I wasn't expecting there to be a third entry in the Jones saga, and this one confirms Jones as a classic supernatural "back from the dead" killer! The way Devin built more on the world he's created in this book was fantastic. Getting to step back into Briarwood with the familiar settings and new/old characters was as fun as anticipated.
Overall a really fun read and another example of why Devin is such a great horror author!

Thank you to the author and the publisher or publishers for all your hard work! I'm leaving this review voluntarily and happily! Take a look!

Third time is definitely the charm! The gore was definitely high in this one. Carnage and rage top notch and of course Jones was PERFECT! This book definitely has me needed to read the other books written by Devin Cabrera. There are new characters involved and old ones as things get tense and dark quickly. I wasent sure how this one was going to end but I think they wrapped it up great. No cliffhangers in my opinion. Of course I do have some questions about some things but they could be answered in the other books hes written.

All three of Jones books together make for a great dark story. Not only that we get to see what hes gone through and what makes him tick. Hes a violent, dangerous, bloodthirsty monster that will kill anything or anyone that gets in his way.

Reading these books I know im definitely going to read the other books so I can see what all really is going on here.

There is no better way to end this series than with a perfect cliffhanger that leaves you spinning in a dozen different directions. 🤯

In this third installment of the Jones saga, Devin Cabrera delivers an absolute masterclass in CHAOS. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, Jones is reunited with a long lost family member he believed was dead....🫢🤫
And naturally, by going on yet another, epic killing spree. 🩸

But the real shocker? Just when you think no one can outsmart him, a "ghost" 👻 from his past steps in for the win and absolutely crushes him. I am still reeling from that ending!

If you like your suspense dark, bloody, and unpredictable, you need this on your TBR immediately.

A HUGE thank you to this author for allowing me to be on His ARC team for this book!!

I had to read this. I read the other two, so I had to finish Jones' story. Jones is honestly the ghoul you love to hate. Though, I felt sorry for him. He was dealt a bad hand in life that followed him into death. I have to admit I'll miss him and his carnival mallet.

There seems to be slightly less in the blood and gore department than in the other two books, but the storyline itself is mostly solid. There's a handful of moments I found myself slightly confused, but none of it was detrimental to reading speed or pacing of the story.

There's a few more of Mr. Cabrera's books I've had my eye on and with Jones resting as well as he can, it might be time to pick some of those up while I wait to see what new terror this author comes up with.

This was a great installment of the Jones series! I got it knocked out in less than 24 hours. It would have been in one sitting if work didn't get in the way.

While it's not required to Devin's book, "Nightmare Island", I would recommend reading it prior to the Jones series, but especially this particular book. It's a great tie-in --spoliler-- to how Jones Jepsen finds himself imprisoned at Nightmare Island.

Initally, it was a roller coaster ride! Was Mark and his friends going to play Scoot-Doo and find themselves solving the mystery of Jones Jepsen? Does Jones Jepsen have nightmare-fueled abilities like Freddy Krueger??

The deaths were as brutal as ever. There were some good twists as far as character introductions.

Must read for any fan of slashers!

Jones strikes again! I have loved every single one of the Jones books and this was no different. This one had me feeling all the emotions. I was scared, sad, happy, and even shocked in so many parts of this book. There were twists I wasn’t expecting that literally made my mouth drop. I also loved that it tied into Welcome to Nightmare Island which is how I originally met Jones. All in all this was another incredible book by Devin. (He never disappoints) But I will say I’m sad to say that it’s over. I’ve felt so connected to Jones the more I read about him. He has definitely become one of my favorite serial killers. Definitely pick this book up!!

Jones 2023
He’s bacccckkkk and no one is safe. Every 30 years, Jones Jepsen claws his way back from the grave for vengeance, but this time something feels off. He’s more unhinged, more brutal, and far less focused on revenge. Now it’s all about the kill.
I fell absolutely in love with this one. The chaos, the intensity, and the sheer unpredictability of Jones made it impossible to put down. What really stood out was how well everything connected back to the previous books. The interwoven details tied the story together so nicely and made the whole experience even more satisfying.
If you’ve been following the series, this is a must read. If you haven’t, now is a great time to start.

To be a part of Jones Jepsen's chaotic world is to get inside of a killer . "Jones 2023" starts with a group of college kids doing a project. They pick the fateful massacre that occurred in their town, with the killer being the ghost of Jones.
What ensues is the town under seige once again by this ghost killer. It also answers what happened to both families involved in the original 1963 massacre. And our introduction to Monster Island.
A must read for fans of Devin's work. He blends past and present seamlessly and keeps you wanting more.

Thanks so much for the ARC copy, Devin! I enjoyed this one thoroughly but kind of sad now that it’s over 🥺 Getting the backstory for Jones Jepsen was definitely worth a trilogy. This new side of Jones is pure evil and goes by no rules. You feel a slight tinge of pity for him right at the end since you know what he had endured before but quickly remember everything he did to get to where he is. This was a wild ride and I loved every blood soaked bit of it!

ARC from Devin Cabrera! This was a great ending to the Jones triology. His story made you feel some pity for him but I love how Devin expanded this world and included Welcome To Nightmare Island in this. There wasn't as much destruction and gore as the previous two but to wrap up this story the way it was written was perfect

I really like this author and enjoyed the other two books in the series. However Jones 2023 didn’t resonate with me as much. At times, the level of detail felt excessive and left me a bit confused in certain parts. I would still recommend this author and would be open to reading future works, but this one wasn’t my favorite.

Jones is back at it again but this time it’s 2023! I enjoyed the reference to other books Devin has wrote and how the previous Jones books were tied into this one. This book was a great addition to the Jones saga and gave snippets to Nightmare Island! Well done Devin well done!

Jones is back again! Jones 2023 is a great addition to Jones' story. You get to learn more about Jones and the history of Briarwood, while Jones does what he does best...plays with his mallet

I loved the first two books but felt this one was just not on the same level as the other two. The first two just had so much destruction and had me sitting on the edge of my seat for what Jones did next. This one has me lost at some points. There were details that I didn't follow and didn't know if i was reading the correct book. With that being said it was still worth reading I just didn't enjoy it as much as the other two.

I do enjoy this author and can't wait to read more of his books.

Book #3 in Devin Cabrera's Jones series and it does not disappoint!! Jones comes back even more evil and sinister to terrorize Briarwood but in the end....he learns some valuable lessons. Or does he?

Such a good conclusion to the series. Loved it and the tie in into another of his books, Welcome to Nightmare Island. I highly recommend reading every book in this series.
