He’s my protector, my confidante. Then one night he became more. I want him, I need him, and, if I’m honest with myself, I love him. I just don’t know if he’ll ever see me as more than what we’ve always been: friends. I don’t want to lose him but it’s getting harder and harder to keep my feelings to myself. Should I risk it all or play it safe?

She’s my light, my saving grace. The night we came together I knew I could never live without her. I want her to be mine: my lover, my friend. Maybe, if I can get her to see past all the reasons why we shouldn’t be together, she’ll be my forever. It just might be time to turn it up and go for broke.

This is Sera's and Cage story
Brace yourself you will get some mafia violence....

We make our way to the bedroom to grab the rest of our things and when I tie my boots and fasten the gun holster to my thigh, Cage's eyebrows go up.

but yet you'll still get the great sexy rock star love story.

Sera has gone through loss and pain from a young age therefore shielding herself. Cage is second in command to Lucy’s & Sera’s mafia grandfather and is just the right Alpha hotness to help heal her heart.

"I've waited long enough. I don't want to wait anymore, Fee. No more dancing around what we both want."

Enjoying the series. I'm on to the next one.

**Was gifted ARC for honest review contains spoilers**

Where do I even begin? Anne is a god with a pen! The Rockstars are back with book number three Sera and Cages story. First off let me say I'm a huge Jesse and Xander fan but after reading this? Cage has stolen my heart with his badass protectivness, sweetness and all around hotness! In the first two books as well as Xander Christmas you had bits and Pieces of Cage but this book you learn about his family, his name and his ties to the Mafia. I loved how I actually got to know Cage better and see how he had become the man he is. Then you have Sera, one of my favorite Blush babies. Sera had a rough as hell life, finding her parents dead and then losing the baby she had made with Cage...it sent you through an emotional roller coaster. the best thing about how Anne made Sera is that no matter the shit she had dealt with, the loss of her family and her baby she kept pushing on. Sera is a strong badass woman who falls in love and marry Batman...oops I mean Cage ;-) and finally feeling safe and happy what girl doesn't want that? of course you see your other favorite Rockstars, Xander *wiggles brows* being his amazing self as well as some Juicy. this was the perfect mix of rockstar/mafia in my eyes, never a dull moment and keeps you wanting more. I can't wait to see what Anne has in store next for the whole crew as well as everyone who is joining the Rockstars on their journey. I highly recommend this series and if you saw my fb page you would see that is true I tell everyone and anyone to read it. BTW this place needs more than 5 stars I give this book 10 stars!

Sera & Cages story

Love the Falling down series its hot, humorous and I love all the characters.

However as a rock romance fan this is more the story of Sera and Cage and I missed the elements from the other books throughout this read such as Xander and the other characters that made me love this series so much.

This is a good read cage and Sera are hot and their story good. Sera being part of a mafia family is seriously badass in parts. I missed her feisty, sarcastic character though I don't think it shone through enough in this.

Sera having conversations with her dead parents made sense at the beginning in a dream giving you insight to her history but when it continues through the rest of the book that was just weird for me.

I felt apart of the other books the humour the family feel their success I didn't with this although it was a good read but it felt separate more of a stand alone and I didn't expect that.

Looking forward to other books though, when they go on tour and all is back to normal in the world of falling down, I won't be put off because Anne does put in her books everything I need in a read which is a good mixture of humour, hotness, good plot and angst, my down fall is comparing it to the other books that I loved.

I have received an ARC copy of this book from an author in exchange of an honest review.

What can I say? She did again! But this time she didn't put together a sweet love with a little drama. NO this time she went all in and I was crying and sobbing like a lunatic. She broke my heart so many times in this book. But Sera's and Cage's love put it back together.

Sera is an ex model and a part of Blush group, but she is not only a pretty face and hell of a body, she is loyal, honest, hot tempered and would kill anyone who would dare to threaten her family or anyone she loves. From Being a sweet girl, after her parent murder she changes and she build a wall around herself that no one is able to penetrate. Until she meets Cage, who fast becomes her best friend, but few years had to pass until she decides to act on her true feelings toward him. And it's not easy. When Sera finally decides to trust him and give herself to him, she is hurt and runs away from him and everyone.

But cage, oh that damn handsome man, is not having any of that. He finally made her his and he is not planning to let her go. Ever. Cage, is the same as Sera. Loyal to people he loves, honest and protective. Everyone thinks of him as of a successful businessman, but only few knows his true nature - that he can be cold, ruthless and he can kill without batting an eye. But when he loves, he loves to death and with passion. And that's how he loves Sera.

This book was so emotional, so many things happened. Good and bad. Anne amazingly showed how the BFD are staring to be a real family and whenever anyone of them is in need, danger they are all there to help and support.

Of course, the best character? Xan MY man...God I just love that guy, he never ever stops to amaze me of how kind and loving he really is.

I can't wait for next part and all other that are to come! Brilliant job Anne!

P.S. I loved the song choice!

I have a problem. A really big problem! And it's this: having to wait for Anne's next book to be released!!! Ugh...I think she's trying to kill me, because once again she blows my mind with another amazingly fantastic Rockstar book. Sera & Cage...what can I say that would be equivalent to how hot and loving their story is? I don't think it's possible. So many emotions and feelings ran through me while reading Amplify. Love, longing, frustration, pain, humor, heartbreak, joy, fury, devastation, fear, passion...all of it and more! Sera is such a headstrong, confident, and remarkable woman, yet endures the same insecurities of the average woman. And Cage....WHOA! I think I can cook anything off of him, he is so HOT! Nothing like a gorgeous, passionate, romantic, dominating leading man to get your blood pumping! Throw in some mafia family members, and you have the recipe for an amazing read!

Not many authors can pull you into their book and make you feel as if you're living the story. And Anne is surely one of them. I have been hooked since the first chapter of Falling Down, and will continue to be hooked until she decides to type the final 'THE END'. And I hope that never happens! But until then, I absolutely, 100%, unconditionally recommend this book and series to everyone! Thank you, Anne! You truly know how to leave us wanting more!

I loved it! Cage and Sera are a beautifully amazing couple with so much passion. I love Anne's way of writing, she keeps you glued to your seat needing to know more. There is no wanting to know, it's a need to know what's going to happen next. She never leaves a side character out. She gives you a lil bit more about each of them in each book making you for fall more in love with them. I can't wait to read what the future holds for each and everyone of them.

Out of the 3 books this was my favorite. I love Mafia stories. But THIS one was epic!!!! I really love Sera, Model, Rock Star and the granddaughter to A Mafia boss. I will say the way she handled things with Cage really stunk. BUT then she realized all the BS from Carina I loved the way she handled herself. We;; done

*ARC gifted by author via blog tour in exchange for an honest review*

'Anne you are officially my pimp!!!
I've never had one author give me sooooooooooooooooo many hot men in one book!!!! *drools* (<- FB needs to make this emoticon.)
And here I thought I would be one man woman! Sheesh'

This was reaction at only 30% of the book. It true!! The book is filled with HOT guys! Smoldering hot and the most lovable girls! Well, almost all of them anyway.

There is just so much to talk about this book and I won't be able to that without giving away things that be read and then discussed.

As opposed to the first two books 'Falling Down' and 'Blush', which are sweet, sexy, mild angst-y and intense, and one novella Xander's Christmas , which for all intents and purposes is HILARIOUS!!! And why wouldn't it be, it is Xander after all we are talking about!

'Amplify' on the other hand is more intense. Its raw and more angst-y. Perfectly describing Cage and Sera's relationship. Not everything was sunshine and rainbows for those two.

Now to the characters...

Let's start with Cage Nicholas (<- Cage Nicholas, Nicholas Cage....)

In the author's words 'He's huge'!!!! pun totally intended, even though she wrote 'get your mind out of the gutter' Nu-uh. Not happening! How can you even expect us to!

You meet him in 'Falling Down', 'Blush' and Xander's Christmas.

He comes across as a person that one would thing twice before fucking (no pun) with him. He is loyal, hardworking, business mogul and a mafia. But it's not until you peel all those layers that you get to meet the real Cage.

Now that Cage, that Cage is cheesy, romantic, protective and the best of all he loves Sera to a fault. And he is not afraid of letting anyone know.

Serafina or Sera is a girl who you will love. She is perfectly matched to Cage. She is loyal, protective of the one's she loves, she is not afraid to speak her mind. But then I think it's a Russo thing because none of the Russo women have a problem in speaking their mind.

Even after being dealt with a bad hand when she was kid she came out really strong. Yes, she has her insecurities, she runs from Cage and what she feels for him, his past, her past, but who doesn't!!

This book perfectly showcases Sera and Cage's relationship. Raw, intense, unforgiving, forgiving.

The scenes that I particularly loved in the book:

♫ Xan MY Man!! He is absolutely hilarious! ( YES! I called dibs on him! Back Off!!)

♫ All action scenes

♫ Cage playing the guitar and singing for Sera *le Sigh!( You know what he was singing! Oh, you don't! Well go read the book!)

♫ The cemetery scene (Yes! Someone died! Oh stop with the gasping and widening of your eyes! go to Amazon and one-click the book, lady! Assuming its a woman reading this review)

♫ The bad-ass Sera scene! God, I absolutely loved that one! (Is it weird I replaced Sera in that scene with me? I don't know)

♫ The wedding ( Uh-huh. Are you really sure, it was Cage and Sera's wedding? *evil laugh* Yeah, well Anne never does what we think, does she?)

♫ Xan MY Man!! Oh wait I already mentioned him!

This book was different in so many ways yet keeping true to the author's writing style.

I give this book a definite 5 'Always and Forever' Stars

P.S. I want Interlude! Like, yesterday!

Original post: AMPLIFY by Anne Mercier: Got a Reaction from Me
http://fangswandsandfairydust.com/201...

Audiobook provided by publisher for review. No remuneration was exchanged and all opinions presented herein are my own except as noted.

I have been struggling with what to say about this book for a couple of days now. It is unusual for me to feel so strongly against a book. Since I am in serious lust with the Rock ‘n Roll Romance genre, there were some aspects of the storylines in the series I found interesting, but the bad in this entry in the series so outweighs the good that I do not recommend it. I will definitely not continue to listen to or read this series It’s tricky to justify the strength of my admonishment without using spoilers, but I am going to try.

Something positive: I thought Mercier made a good attempt at how a child would react to finding her parents dead. Also the Narrator does a great job with accents and emotive content.

Why do I feel so strongly?

Sex and Violence:

This book glorifies violence, in particular organized crime violence and it is treated so casually that I was repelled. This only occurs in maybe three scenes, but that was enough. Then the violence is treated as if it were an aphrodisiac I was stunned, angered even. I like sexy times in books a lot. Hence what I write about. But the combination of the two int he way it is done is very different from the adrenaline effect of fighting we see in OUTLANDER when Jamie says fighting gives one a “cockstand” after they’re attacked.

Sure, TV shows like “The Sopranos” also showed organized crime violence — and that was why I stopped watching it, but I don’t think it was turned into a fantasy to the degree it is here.

Of course, a little Domination also gets thrown in for good measure. We don’t seem to be able to have erotica these days with out a power exchange.

Seriously?

There are other ridiculous things, a character has been sick for days and cannot keep anything down but can have sex and give her guy a blow job and SWALLOW. And, that stays down when toast and everything else had been coming up. And, when two people are having sex in an unusual location and he enters his partner’s anus with a finger, don’t you wonder how he cleaned the finger off after?

And, ghost parents who can intervene from heaven, but ONLY when it’s really necessary. I guess in this universe God’s good with the mob.

Loose Ends:

A secondary, but still important character gets hurt but we never find out what happened to him or whether he survived. Also, there is some suggestion that a particular person killed Sera’s parents, but it’s never answered and in the first book it is said to have been solved and taken care of.

Communication Problems:

Stop and talk to the guy for heaven’s sake. Most of the conflicts between the couple are trumped up, mostly on Serrafina’s side, and her reactions are so out of proportion that it was just impossible to believe. This is a pet peeve for me anyway.

Bad Poetry

I was actually ashamed to listen to the terrible poetry the author was calling song lyrics.

But
Mostly, I was troubled by the violence in the story; how it was treated as a good thing, and something sexually exciting. Seriously, seriously troubling. Sure, this is not literature, I am not at all sure it is erotica even, and there’s no requirement that a book send a positive message into the world. But, the message I heard from this book is that violence is good and it’s sexy. As I listened, I struggled with what words could describe it and I thought written snuff-porn.

I don’t think I have ever recommended completely against a book, so this is a first for me. Almost a month later, I am still haunted by images in the story. Ugh.

5 Stars!

It's here!!! We are finally getting the down and dirty on Sera and Cage. This book was full of suspense, mystery, drama, angst, steam, and tons of twists and turns. This is an amazing five star series that will stay with you long after it's over.

This is Sera and Cage's story. These two are destined for each other but their road to happiness is not easy. Sera and Cage are in love with each other and always have been. They have treated their relationship as a hook up over time but it is more. When Cage is ready to lay claim, Sera runs when she hears lies being told. Cage decides to give her a little time then she is coming home for good. Will he get Sera to submit to him? Sera is in love with cage but she cant stop her heart from breaking over him. Trying to move on from him is hard but she has to try. She doesn't expect Cage to come and right the wrongs of the past so they can have a future. But not everyone is happy they are together and want to tear them apart. And there is the drama coming from the previous books. Everything is still uncertain. Will these two find a happy ending?

I loved Cage and honestly, I am claiming him as MINE. He was so alpha and strong and masculine but oh so sweet on the inside. I love how we got to see the softer side of him with Sera. You could tell he loved Sera. Yeah they had some bumps along the way but she was always his one. And Sera, I love that crazy strong girl. She surprised me with her amazing strength and loyalty in this book. And between the sheets... YOWZA! Cage is a beast. And of course I loved ALL the guys and gals from BFD so it was nice playing catch up with them.

This is an amazing series. I would not recommend reading any of these books as a standalone as the story continues from book to book with different couples.

I highly recommend this series!

This is one of my favorite series. I loved the first two books and couldn't wait for this one to be released. I was not disappointed. It had a very different feel than the earlier books. Not bad, but definitely different. The earlier books were more "light hearted", this one had a darker tone to it.
We knew most of Seras backstory, in this book we learn about Cages past. Neither had a great childhood. They both suffered loss at an early age, Sera had her family to help her through, Cage, had no one, and ended up on the streets and later got hooked up with Seras uncle, which led to his involvement with the mafia.
They have a lot of issues to work through, trust being the biggest. And Seras running instead of talking next on that list. But they do get there, it's a difficult journey, but a necessary one.
This book was an emotional roller coaster. The first third of this story, was heartbreaking, I was in tears more than once. The middle of the story, we get back to the happy group dynamic. Xander as always is hilarious. The end of the book is frightening. It has been hinted at in the earlier books that Sera has a temper and a short fuse. She has grown up in and been trained to protect herself by her mafia family. And we finally see her snap and go off her carefully maintained control. She is one scary supermodel when off her leash.
I only had one small disappointment with this book, and that was the length of it. The story itself ended at 74% on my ereader. Then there was the short story "A Very Xander Christmas", then several first chapters of new authors. While I liked the extras I would have like more Cage and Sera.
I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.

I have read all the Rockstars series so far and this is by far the one i love the most. I love the rest but i feel Sera gets a chance to shine and i have known she can from the first chapter of Rockstars #1. What i love is though the story encompasses all the Rockstar clan it is also an intimate story with sole focus on Sear and Cage and their relationship and how it is between the whirlwind world of the other characters around them also and how it all slots together. Cage he is my Rockstar man from this series, you can keep Jessie yeah i do like him but there is a burning intensity about him, that is always simmering away even when he is being all casual and smooth underneath it all he is about to boil over especially for Sera. OMG i felt for Sear and her 'illness' i also began to feel under the weather reading how she was. Got to love the Xan- Man as well as usual he is a laugh when around the group but also a glue to keep everyone together and he always helps people out. The best by far, if possible read the books in series order, if not i feel you will not lose much of the story you will get swept away with Sera and Cage instead.

Holy hotness. I can't say enough great things about this book. This entire series just rocks. Cage and Sera are one amazing couple. Sera is sisters with Lucy and I really got to know her in Falling a Down and Blush, but Amplify is were I got a girl crush on her. Cage is so much more than what I knew of him from the previous books. He is part of the mafia and he puts on a hard exterior for everyone but a Sera. I like getting to see a softer side to him. I am so glad they got their own book. After a one night stand neither knows exactly how each other feels for the other. Sera has been holding back her feelings because of a tragedy in her childhood. Never wanting to love someone because she is afraid to lose them. Cage is just the guy to break down her walls and make her understand that that's just life. Love while you can and enjoy it. Tomorrow is never promised. I fell hard for Cage. He is just the perfect guy. He is protective of family, trustworthy and did I mention in the mafia. I love mafia books. Once I started this book, I couldn't put it down. From start to finish I went through so many emotions. I highly recommend this book.

description

I really enjoyed this story - it was a perfect mixture of steamy, rockstar, and darkness. Sera and Cage are both badasses and I absolutely loved both of their characters. Sera lost her parents at a young age and has been raised by her aunt and uncle, Sera’s grandfather is the head of the mob so she’s, of course, tougher then nails. Cage is second to Sera’s grandfather and has always had eyes for Sera. The chemistry between the two is off the charts but Sera keeps running away from Cage.

I read this as a standalone and I couldn’t put it down! It definitely made me want to go back and read the first two books so I could learn more about the other characters – it was a bit difficult at times to keep up with each person and their relationship to one another. Especially since everyone calls Sera’s aunt “momma.” All in all a great book – though I’m not sure I’d consider it a “rockstar romance” we really don’t get a lot of the rockstar part of their lives. I still really enjoyed it and look forward to reading book 4.

Cage is H.O.T.

Sera's had been through the ringer when it comes to loss, grief and heartache. Yet she's still able to kick ass and take names! She's strong and feisty.

Amplify gives you death, tragedy, deceit, secrets, mayhem, mafia, music, friends, family, loyalty, laughter (lots and lots of LOL moments with Xander and company), tears and most importantly love.

I laughed and I cried.

Brace yourself for all that is Cage Nichols. He's hot, sexy, successful and a dirty talker to boot! Yum!! He knows what he wants, he's not afraid of going after it, and takes it with no apologies.
His take charge attitude can be appreciated by all he does business with, but Fee especially appreciates it in the bedroom (or wherever they may be) - O.M.G.

Omg I just got done reading Amplify by Anne Mercier and she has done it again. Sera and Cage have such a rough and raw background that plays into who they are today. My heart absolutely broke for Sera when her parents died. So I love the fact that you get to see Sera’s badass side and see how she deals with the mob business side of the family. Cage is exactly what you would expect dominant, strong, and assertive which is what Sera needs in her life to keep her from running. This book was great and can’t wait for more of this series. Of course throughout the book you have the togetherness that you expect to see with the band and family members.

Our girls need to know that having a good man is wonderful, but being able to protect yourself is beautiful. The guys...oh,my... the guys are swoon worthy. The anticipation for your next work of art is OUT of control, thanx to Anne Mercier for sharing her gift with us. Lucy & Jesse are my favorites....so far.

The prologue of this book killed me. Anne had me bawling like a little girl!
In this book you learn Serafina's and Cage's story. I love their story.
Serafina has trust issues due to her past but Cage tries everything in his power to tear down the walls that surround Fee's heart.
There was one part in the book towards the end that had me like "that doesn't make sense" but all in all I have FLOVED this book and am impatiently waiting for the next installment.

Re read this in order, so this is a revised review from Jan 2017. Holy Crap! Two stubborn people who were totally made for each other. Throw in the mafia, rock stars and a great group of friends. There is also quite a bit of suspense in this book and a bunch of happiness. This series never gets old and I love the steps that Anne takes us on in this group of characters lives.

Ok it starts out kinda a tear jerker with Sera finding her parents and when they come to her in her dreams. As in the previous books Cage was a bit of a mystery but when we learn about him and how he feels about Sera. holy hell there are some steamy scenes, but the best part is learning how Sera and Cage come to be.

Amazing book! Cage Cage and more Cage! More mafia in this one along with all the other loveable characters. This one was darker than the first two books but rest assured there's still hilarious moments with the guys and also those steamy moments we so love. READ IT!!!

The story has laughs, pain, anger, suspense, violence, loss, betrayal, and heartbreak. I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well I was kept interested in the story. I read it in one sitting.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books first.
Falling Down (Rockstar series #1)
Blush (Rockstar, #2)

This is more of Sera and Cage’s story. Sera and Cage are made for each other but someone is out to make sure that does not happen. Every time they start to make a relationship work the same person spreads lies and tells stories to make Sera run from Cage. Once Cage finds her he is going to make her see she is the only one for him and believe that he is all she will ever need. They still have to worry about the threat as that one issue has not been taken care of. But when it is taken care of it is such a spectacular way that you just might not see coming. Love that Sera is strong enough to take out the trash so to speak. Now can Sera and Cage get the ending that they both want? Or will more drama pop up for them to take care of?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. There are some tear filled moments and some anger filled moments in this story. But all in all I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

5 stars for the third book in the Rockstar series and in my opinion it is the best yet! Serafina Manzini has never had an easy life. Sera was twelve years old when she walked in to find both of her parents executed and had to be whisked away for her own safety. Sera was then raised with Lucy as one of the Russo clan. She has never gotten over her parents death and still feels like she has a huge target on her back by her grandfather's rivals which is why Cage and Damien were assigned to protect Lucy and Sera along with the regular security detail. Cage Nichols is not just your regular businessman that happens to own a bunch of investments in Los Angeles he also happens to be the number two man in the Russo Family Mafia. Growing up Cage had a drug addict father and a mother that worked herself to death to provide for him. Cage was beaten and abused as part of his daily life and he vowed never to go to that dark place again once Sera brought light to his life.
Sera and Cage have had an attraction that has spanned years and when they finally work out the logistics and get together everything and everyone try to stand in their way but Cage is determined to get his girl. This book was grittier then the previous two books with a bit more angst and drama but all in all it was a perfect mix for these two characters to find their forever :)

I Just couldn't wait to read Sera and Cage story. Yeah I love Jesse and Lucy to bits but while reading Book 1 and Book 2 you just keep on wondering what is it with Sera and Cage. Oh boy do you find out the whole thing.

Amplify is book 3 in this Amazing Series, and the whole twist of the mafia and the bit of darkness is what kept me going. It made you want to see what will happen next. Will they come out on top. (duh obviously since they the mafia but you still wonder).

We learn a lot in this book of Sera and Cage and why they are the way they are. We see how each one pulls the other one out of its shell and show what true love is. The love scenes is a bit more detailed and will have you fanning yourself to get cold. But I'm not going to lie to you Sera and Cage love is tested in some of the ways that will break most couples and will have tears running down your cheek.

This series is going to keep growing and will be huge. I would love to see Xander my man find love and see how he copes with it. But that just me.

I will recommend this book and series to anyone who is up for a little danger and romance mixed with crazy crowds and tears.

I give Amplify 4 Stars
