I was blessed with a mother who instilled the love of reading in me at a young age. That progressed into a passion for the written word in all forms, which led to my writing. Every day I have new stories and new ideas roaming through my brain, the characters chomping at the bit for their turn to be front and center and have their story told. Today that love of storytelling translates into my desire to write and share my stories with others. I write in many genres, but I’m currently concentrating on romantic suspense and paranormal.
My day job is about as uncreative as it gets. I do medical transcription, spending numerous hours at the computer each day trying to decipher the mumbled, garbled and often unrecognizable words the physicians are dictating, in an effort to make a complete and comprehensive patient record. It’s almost as bad as trying to read their handwriting!
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, I’ve lived in various places throughout my youth, from California to Hawaii and back to Florida (Key West), before finally settling in Texas. I make my home outside Dallas, Texas with my spoiled black lab (Missy).
I am a member of Romance Writers of American and the Dallas Area Romance Authors (DARA), where I’m an active member; you can find me at the local meetings each month.

Home after 10 years if Liam has his way
The love of his life was buried 10 years ago. Now his brother hands him a picture of her with the words she is alive. He has to see for himself. Before he can make arrangements to bring her home he gets word that his Dad had a heart attack he had to rush back home.

Great story of love and betrayal. I never suspected who did the betrayal till just before the reveal. Carlo makes a great white knight. The DEA plot line was very engaging. Seeing all those diverse sources pull together to resolve the situation was a great way to bring in more characters without being confusing. Can't wait to see next book in series.

Ultimate Betrayal is the fourth installment of Kathy Ivan’s New Orleans Connection. In this suspenseful romance, she chronicles the romantic journey of Macie Branson and Carlo Marucci. She is the daughter of his boss and is a forensic accountant for the FBI. He is a field agent under the supervision of her dad. He returned from an undercover assignment and goes on to a vacation in Key West. She and her sister and two young nephes just happen to be facationing at the same B&B. Her sister, Michelle , is a divorcee. Her husband was an abuser. When someone kidnaps Michelle’s two sons, everyone assumes it is the ex husband. However he is dead so now time and energy are dedicated to identify who is behind the kidnapping. Carlo reaches out to an old friend, Samuel Carpenter, the Ghost. Ghost is an independent contractor and a great and loyal friend. Carlo also reached out to the Lamoreaux cousins, Remy and Max. Readers met them in earlier installments in this series. Will the new team discover who is behind the kidnapping and why? Will the boys be safe? Do Carlo and Macie fall in love? To discover what happens you must read this book.
Yet again, Ms. Ivan has outdone herself in this character-driven romantic suspense plot. I enjoy her skill in creating complex characters—both primary and secondary. Readers witness their dreams, strengths, and vulnerabilities. She allows readers to journey along with her characters as they work out their fears and challenges. I am fascinated how Ms. Ivan includes different characters into her plot from previous books in the series. Doing so allows readers to get to know each of the Boudreau/Lamoreaux families and appreciate this tight knit, open, and supportive family. The two-prong plot—romance and suspense-- this one enhances a basic romantic plot line with rising points in the plot arch. Nicely done, Ms. Ivan.

I'm really enjoying this series and all of the macho men in Kathy Ivan's imagination, especially Carlo Marucci, who is an ex-con who now works undercover for the DEA. He's in Florida on much needed vacation when two boys he's seen around the pool with their sexy aunt are kidnapped. His boss at the DEA asks him to help with the case and Carlo is only too happy to lend his expertise. Ultimate Betrayal is a fast moving and well constructed romantic suspense thriller that kept my attention from the very first chapter with a finely woven mystery and plenty of bad guys to go along.
