Don Camsell joined the SBS in 1974. From Oman to the hills of Port Stanley, from the bottom of Giralter harbour to the deep, cold, black waters of Loch Long and from the QE2 to the back alleys of Belfast, his new role demanded that he fought in just about every theatre of war - overt or covert.
An interesting read, if the writing style is rather rough. It was OK, always tempered with not knowing if it is all true or not. Becomes confused when you read accounts of the same events by someone else and they don't tally. Not sure what to believe. Fascinating, certainly. Really hope it is true...
A great read! Fascinating to get an alternative point of view. Hilariously anti SAS at times. I have read 2 memoirs by ex SBS folks and what is common to both is the human side, the humour of the cock ups.
