So you want to know a little about me and get a sense of who I am. Well the first thing I can say is that I absolutely hate talking about myself. So bare with me as I let you in on who I am.
My name is Elizabeth Hayes and I am from the Midwest. I have a few things I just happen to obsess over those include Hot pink and Zebra print, Unicorns, and cupcakes, and Books, I love to read and get lost in a book. I have thought about writing for a long time now and finally started to put words down. Ashlee and I are both new at this and our first book Finding Salvation is going to be thrown out there for you all to read. I must say I am having a hard time with this. I am the type of person that likes to know the outcome before I do anything. I want to know that this is going loved by most of you. The thing is I know that this book is going to be hopefully liked by some, hopefully loved by some, hated by some and just ok to some and I think I am finally ok with that. I am stepping out of my comfort zone. I hear that is a good thing. But with everything time will tell. So there you go! If you want to know more just ask.
To start off with I felt like I didn't know these characters. The background with Mel was quick and cut and dry, no further detail. She was a cold bitch. I didn't like her personality at all. I felt no connection to her whatsoever. She was a 23 year old stripper who was basically alone and wouldn't open her heart to anyone and had a fuck buddy relationship going with Gage for 6 months.
Gage had developed feelings for her. We never saw the feelings developing it was just known from the beginning. Circumstances bring them closer but Melody being the bitch she is denies her new feelings and goes and does what she normally does. Shoots him down in a bitchy way.
Gage fucks up because of course you can't have a book without someone being stupid and creating drama go separate them.
Something unexpected happens and here is where Gage's twin Chase becomes a dick, I really disliked him too. Why the hell was he always around. Get a life. Oh and I forgot to mention she has a half brother who was unnecessary to this story come live with her. I liked him I thought he'd be something decent for the book. Turns out he's a dick too. But not as bad as Chase, or maybe he is, I don't know anymore.
Some random thing happens in last couple of chapters that did not even need to be in this book. It came out of left field and was played up for like one chapter before it was all okay somehow. The situation was not even dealt with or expanded on, it happened and then that was it. Definitely would be a trigger for some.
This was just so UGGH to me. I wanted to skim more than half. I didn't connect with anyone, I didn't like the characters personalities and it was like one thing after another. Seemed like all possible storylines were thrown in. I can't truly explain what was so annoying without actually saying what each part was and giving spoilers so you'd just have to read it to understand.
The sex was blah. Quick and boring, typical. There was no epilogue and I was left with confusion as to what happened now and not in the oh maybe it'll be in the 3rd book kind of way more like nothing was resolved but was left as if it was all good. Didn't even make sense to me. It was quite abrupt.
