Bombarded by memories from the past, Julian Quibadeaux must use the visions of his ancestors or he will be doomed to repeat their mistakes. Through these flashes, he sees the evils of his bloodline and secrets that had been hidden to him. His bloodline, since the time of Marie Laveau, has been cursed to turn into a Rougaroux, the Cajun werewolf. Murder and disastrous outcomes have plagued his family for generations. He must learn what he can before it’s too late…
However, he is not alone on his quest; he is helped by an old family friend who watches over him as the visions pour through his mind. But, if he can learn to control the monster within, he may, after all this time, tear down the walls of his curse.
As a young girl, Diana Marie Dubois was an avid reader and was often found in the local public library. Now you find her working in her local library. Hailing from the culture filled state of Louisiana, just outside of New Orleans; she lives with her three Great Danes and four spunky mutts. Her biggest inspiration has always been the infamous Anne Rice and her tales of Vampires. It was those very stories that inspired Diana to take hold of her dreams and begin writing. She is now working on her first series, Voodoo Vows.
This book takes you into Julian's family history. When we leave Julian and Rosie at the end of Voo Doo Vows he has left to deal with his curse.
While he has a lot to deal with he does it with the help of a family member that he didn't even know he had. We find out how the curse has progressed and how it affected each of his prior family members.
While he is dealing with all of this we learn more about him and how much he really does love Rosie. I now understand more of his reactions.
This is an insightful look into the curse that plagues Julian, Rosie's boyfriend. I think you should read Voodoo Vows first before reading this one. That way you have a better mindset... Diana does an amazing job of writing in heroines point of view however, that limits you to her feelings and knowledge of events.
Ghosts from the Past in from Julian's point of view. I loved it.
loved it! loved the whole series. This author is great. look forward to reading more of her books. I would recommend this book along with the others in the Voodoo Vows series
