THIS IS A DARK EROTIC HORROR - READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS (THERE ARE 80 OF THEM, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED)

FYI THIS REVIEW IS GOING TO CONTAIN A LOT OF EMOTIONALLY NECESSARY FOUL LANGUAGE.

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST! I knew this book was going to be brutal before I even read the dedication but FUCK!

Part 2 of Iris and Silas' story starts with a bang, a very loud, very violent, very distressing bang!
I have been emotionally invested in Silas Riggs since the very first time he's mentioned in Crawl Space and book 2 does not disappoint.

The downright obsessive love these 2 have for each other is horrifically beautiful. They were meant for each other and that is evident on every page they are mentioned.

I absolutely love that they will quite happily burn the world down for each other and that now Silas has found his voice again, the way he worships Iris is just *chefs kiss*. I think most women dream of a love like this and having someone talk to them and about them the way Silas and Iris talk about each other.

This book is heart breaking on so many levels, I wont spoil it but if you have read Crawl Space you'll probably already know where I am coming from.

I wont lie though, I cried A LOT while reading this book. Like a fucking lot! There were parts that were so emotionally beautiful, I cried. There were parts so brutally heart-breaking, I cried. There were moments when I thought "Are you fucking serious?!" and cried.
And the final chapter nearly left me needing to buy a new kindle.

I felt every single ounce of emotion in this book and I cannot fault it in any way.

The spice was hot af but still romantic and beautiful. God damn Silas Riggs is just everything you want in a traumatised Serial Killer with a heart of gold.

Now, as I mentioned at the beginning of this review... there are 80 trigger warnings! There are some scenes that made me feel physically sick (do not eat immediately before or during the reading of this book) and this is JN's very specific brand of messed up, food ruining, unhinged fuckery.

I can only thank JN Bamforth for giving this story the ending it deserved and for letting me read it early.

5 stars all day long, even if it did emotionally ruin me for other books ;)

Oh my god I knew from book 1 that book 2 was going to be darker, more tramatic and heartbreaking and it absolutely was! I laughed, I cried, I yelled and I was speechless! All the emotions in under 300 pages! The villians in this duet are the worst, literally vile and I hate them SO MUCH! Honestly I didnt think it was possible to love Silas any more than I did, but after this book I 100% do!

I dont generally rate the FMCs but Iris is a god, an absolute powerhouse of an FMC and I adore her. The ending of this book is PERFECT, absolute perfection and I am so glad it finished the way it did!

Favourite Quote: “Tell me what you’re laughing at, boy!” I roll my eyes, forcing the laugh back down. “Oh bore off you dusty cunt. It’s just an inside joke that’s all, don’t get all jealous because you’re feeling left out.” “An inside joke?” “Yep.” I cock my head to the side. “It’s a fucking party up in here, but you’re not invited. Sorry.”

I fell in love with Silas and Iris in crawl space so I ran to this book to see how their story ends! To put it simply “oh my god” is what was running through my head the entire book. Be ready to feel every emotion possible when it comes to the silent killer and his little demons story!

To say that I fell in love with the characters again would be an understatement. They far exceeded my expectations in this book! Everything about them is amazing. Finally getting to know why Silas is the way that he is had me in awe, shock, appalled, and down right sad at times! I had no idea that I was going to feel every emotion possible!

If you’re not scared I dare you to continue to love Silas and Iris by stepping into their world… again 😏

Touch her and die
Touch him and die
Possesive MMC
Bad ass FMC
I always loved you.

4/5 spice level 😏

We follow Silas and Iris into Salem Penitentiary, and are under control of Doctor Thorne. He's completely unhinged (he could be a patient!), and obsessed with Silas, and the mummy issues are... a lot.
What i liked was the same vibes as Crawlspace which made me fly through it.

What didn't work for me was the end bit of the book did feel rushed.

Overall this was a fun, messed up read but didn't quite meet the same level as the previous book.

Absolutely. Fucking. Phenomenal.
I devoured book 1 and left no crumbs. Immediately was a favorite of mine and I was enamored with daddy Silas. So many times I love book 1 and then book 2 falls short for me. This, however, not a chance. ‘Twas fab!!!! You killed it babe.. incredible. Chefs kiss. Can’t stop thinking about it and I’m so thrilled with their ending !!

Foreword: I was not paid to read this advanced reader copy of Straightjacket by JN Bamforth and I was not told to leave a positive review. The official release date of Straightjacket is October 5th.

"Did you miss me, little demon?
Cause I sure as hell missed you.
I suggest that you tell your other book boyfriends to get the fuck outta my way.
Daddy Silas is coming home."

Straightjacket is the second book of the Deadly Love Duet, and the first is Crawl Space. The sequel does not disappoint, and it is my genuine, brutally honest opinion that both of these books are 5 stars.

Crawl Space introduces you to Iris and Silas. You learn about them and the trauma that they have experienced as individuals, and you fall in love with the characters as they fall in love with each other. Their unconventional relationship and love life is gripping and page turning. The suspense, horror, and gore keeps everything just as interesting and complex. Crawl Space ends on a cliff hanger, and Straightjacket picks up right where it left off.

Straightjacket picks you up, and drops you off into a mental institution. This book is depraved in the way that American Horror Story Asylum is. In this book, you see how Iris and Silas never lose sight of their undying love for each other, even in the worst possible circumstances.

The ending of Crawl Space infuriated me, and the ending of Straightjacket made me cry. The only thing that bothered me about this book duet, was the fact that I didn't read them back to back. My memory is hot, steamy garbage, and I forgot some details in book 1 that were continued in book 2. I highly suggest these books, but read them consecutively so that you can get the whole experience without missing a beat.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ARC REVIEW ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Well… what the actual fuck did I just read? 😂🖤
Straight Jacket is the perfect combination of erotic horror, chaos, spice and “OH MY GOD DID THAT JUST HAPPEN?!”
This book took me on an absolute emotional rollercoaster. I cried. I laughed. I gasped. I stared at the page in complete disbelief. And at one point I genuinely had to question whether my stomach was strong enough for the grotesque scenes because J.N. Bamforth does NOT fuck around. 🤢😂
The twists and turns kept coming, and every time I thought I had figured out where the story was going, the book basically grabbed me by the throat and went “WRONG.”
And the spice? 👀🔥
HELLO.
The chemistry, tension and downright unhinged moments had me needing to fan myself one minute and reconsider my life choices the next.
But the horror… THE HORROR.
Those grotesque scenes hit me right in the gut. I could practically feel my stomach turning while simultaneously being completely unable to stop reading. There are some moments that will be permanently living rent-free in my brain. Unfortunately. 😂
This book somehow manages to make you feel everything—horror, humour, tension, emotion, disgust, anticipation and oh-my-god-I-need-to-know-what-happens-next desperation.
It is dark, twisted, filthy, disturbing and completely addictive.
Basically:
🖤 I cried.
🖤 I laughed.
🖤 I gasped.
🖤 I gagged.
🖤 I needed Jesus.
🖤 I absolutely did NOT put the book down.
An absolutely feral 5⭐ read for me.
If you like your romance dark, your horror grotesque, your spice HOT and your plot completely unhinged, then Straight Jacket needs to be on your TBR.
The perfect erotic horror. I am both traumatised and delighted. 😂🖤🔥

WOW. Just… WOW. 😭
Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this Arc @jnbauthor_

When I tell you JN Bamforth came in and slapped me across the head with a banger, SHE DID. Crawl Space was great, but Straight Jacket? Absolutely fxking awesome. I read this ARC in ONE SITTING. Once I started, I genuinely could not put it down.

We pick up immediately where Crawl Space left off, which I LOVED. Silas and Iris are captured and taken to a facility where things get… well… depraved AF. The gore, the trauma, the psychological torment, and ESPECIALLY the doctor??? ( I wanted to put my foot in a couple of people’s 🍑)

This author has a talent for throwing these completely unhinged wildcard characters into the story and oh my does it work. The doctor was so twisted and demented that I genuinely wanted to crawl out of my skin. The perfect villain for this book.

And Silas and Iris? In real life, I would ride for these two. Their devotion to each other is EVERYTHING. I love how fiercely they cling to one another even when everything around them is falling apart and full on trauma fuel .

The plot was strong throughout, but that ENDING?! I was genuinely spiraling. INSANE. And there was a major discovery that I absolutely didn’t see coming.

And the blood and gore: 💋 . I also laughed a few times. I love to find a slither of light in a room full of darkness.

I HIGHLY recommend this one if you’re looking for something dark, disturbing, violent, and completely unhinged. Just know going in that the trigger warnings are NOT playing around. There is some seriously sick shit in this book—but that’s exactly what we came for.

Arc review -

Firstly Thankyou so much for the opportunity to read this as an arc! After the first book I couldn’t wait for this and needed to be reunited with Silas and iris asap!

This was an absolute beauty of a book and completed the story amazingly! The start put me through a whirlwind of emotions and left me worrying for how our characters were going to be left.

Iris truly let go in this book it seemed, I loved her from the first book but seeing her become even more of a force to be reckoned with was great!

It was beautiful to watch Silas going from the mute masked hidden man to this articulated, emotionally driven man who loves so strongly for the people he cares about. He’s definitely someone you would want on your side and definitely wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of!

J.N Bamforth knows how to write some of the WORST villains who are disgusting and down right depraved, wouldn’t change it for the world though. Definitely make sure you’re not eating in certain chapters🤣

The ending made me tear up a bit and without spoiling a lot comes together and closes the story off at a beautiful point. Sad to not read more about Silas and iris but they deserved their happy ending!

"I ram my cock so far inside of her that im sure im tickling her tonsils" is one of my favourite quotes🤣
Firstly, make sure to read BOOK ONE before reading this.
The absolute chaos of what happens in Salem Penitentiary is diabolical, the therapy, the abuse its sickening but, in the midst of everything Silas is still on his knees begging because he really will do anything for Iris. He even has a good boy kink ;)
Iris truly comes out of her shell, I mean damn that girl has a spine. She will go to hell for her man.
This book was EVERYTHING.
Dolly, WHAT?! Oh what a twist. I didnt see that one, that had my jaw hanging.
I kind of felt bad for Peter when he was a boy then i was just like ew no your fucked mate. Like EW i thought James was bad. Dirty dirty man.
And Lily. Oh my heart. Such a beautiful ending. Im so glad it ended how it did, its a shame it took so long.
My man Bennet, another twist i did not expect.
I loved how the grandmother was involved, she knew all about Silas and really cared for him. She cared for Iris so much.
Strawberry swirl ice-cream, Milkshakes are BANNED from the household. So beware if you eat those, dont whilst reading this!

Straight Jacket by J.N. Bamforth

Crawl Space is my absolute favourite book, so going into this one, it had A LOT to beat… and somehow, I absolutely loved it. 😭🖤

This story had me feeling so many emotions. Iris is such a strong, unhinged FMC — but in the absolute best way. She is fierce, unpredictable, and I was completely hooked on her.

But Silas… 🥹🖤 He just has my whole heart. I genuinely don’t think anyone could even come close to him. There’s just something about him that completely ruined me for everyone else.

And that scene with the doctor and the mother?! 👀 That was just the icing on the cake… or should I say the vanilla milkshake? 🤣 If you know, you know.

I absolutely loved the storyline and the way everything came together. The plot was dark, twisted, emotional and completely addictive. It kept me invested from beginning to end, and I honestly didn’t want to put it down.

My monster.
My silent killer.
He dragged me through hell and claimed me as his own.
But I’ll do whatever it takes to bring him to heaven.
Until the end.

This one absolutely delivered. 🖤

J.N. Bamforth has done it again.
I was swept up mind, body and soul into Crawl Space and the unconventional love story of Silas and Iris, I was utterly speechless when StraightJacket was sent to me. I couldn't wait to see how this unfolded.

It kicks off directly after the first book and is go go go from the first page until the very end. It holds everything that you loved from the first book and manages to add on to it. Full of action, tension and twists and turns.

Pitch black is not for the faint hearted and there is an extensive TW Menu at the start of the book.... make sure you familiarise yourself with them because Bamforth does what she does best, and this book is graphic.... and WE LOVE IT!

I feel the story unfolds very organically and it still holds the book 1 magic. The only reason I can't give it a rating of 5 is that for me personally I found the ending to get a bit muddy. We have bonus chapters and epilogues where were jump forward in time and go back as well and I found some of it to be not very clear; and the bits I wanted more details on didn't go in to depth. Does this mean I didn't absolutely eat this up?! Of course not....I would eat Silas for every course 🤤

Would 1 million percent recommend this book to everyone with a pulse and I cannot wait to see if we get anything else in the Silas/Iris universe!

ARC review
This book picks up right when CrawlSpace ends. The mmc and fmc are locked in an asylum that is reminiscent of the asylums from the 1800s. Torture, 🍇, and experimentation are the norm.
Truly a horror erotic story StraightJacket will make you angry, sad, sick, and downright murderous! I wanted to jump into the book and help Silas and Iris!
The book is well written and the plot is interesting and kept me invested.
We get some background on Dr Thorne and how he got his start in psychiatry. We also get some background on Iris’ grandmother and how she and Silas interacted.
Overall, I stayed up late to finish some chapters. I thought about the book while I was at work and couldn’t read. I was invested from start to finish.
Certainly this genre isn’t for everyone and people should check the trigger warnings before they get into the book. The Trigger list is pages long lol. So please protect your mental health.

After being pulled into the story of Silas and Iris in Crawl Space, I was desperate to read the continuation of their story. It simply couldn’t end there.

In Straightjacket, we are taken to Salem Penitentiary, where the evil and twisted Dr Thorne has our Silent Killer and his Little Demon.

Straightjacket continues the same twisted horror, jaw-dropping grossness and thigh-squeezing hotness. Nothing can keep our two lovebirds from their life together… even in death.

I absolutely lapped up the additional chapters, and the insight from Lilian was a gorgeous addition to the story.

J.N. has woven another story that will have you hooked, disgusted, flustered and absolutely heartbroken throughout. Get the tissues ready guys because this one will hit you in the heart.

4 solid stars and 4 habanero chillies!

ARC!

I had the chance to continue Silas and Iris’s story early, and honestly… what an experience! ❤️

From the very beginning, I couldn’t put this book down. I was thrown through a million different emotions — I laughed, I cried, I screamed, and I probably questioned my life choices a few times along the way. 😂

Iris is a badass bitch (sorry for the swearing, but there really is no other way to put it! 😂), and I absolutely adore her.

I never want Silas and Iris’s story to end. I’m not ready to say goodbye to these two! 🥹

Only J.N. could put me off a certain food forever, but somehow, that’s exactly what makes her books her. 😂

Yet again, she has completely blown me away with another brilliant book. The emotions, the characters, the story — she never fails to amaze me!

Another absolute winner from J.N. ❤️📚

This one is difficult to rate because i genuinely love Bamforth's writing and CrawlSpace left me desperate to find out what happened next.

Unfortunately, Straight jacket just didn't quite reach the same heights for me. I went into the institute expecting some truly horrific shit after everything that had been built up, but surprisingly, that side of the story felt quite tame.

There were still flashes of what i loved about Crawl Space Thorne and Alice...If you know you know. Iris's increasingly murderous side has some great moments, and i liked finally getting closure for Silas and Iris.

But the pacing felt slow before suddenly going at 100mph towards the end, and Silas and Iris's relationship became a little to lovey-dovey and co-dependant for me.

Now i really must say that i didn't dislike this but it was just i was expecting a little more...

Oh I’ve been so desperate to get my hands on this book…and it was so worth the wait.

Salem Penitentiary is not something you survive, Silas and Iris are trapped in hell and the devil is in charge.

If Crawl Space wasn’t bad enough Straitjacket will tip you over the edge! It’s definitely a rough ride for Silas and Iris.

Doctor Thorne is beyond vile (I don’t think I’ll ever look at clotted cream the same!) BUT don’t worry, Iris becomes even more badass than before, we meet Dolly and Polly. And even though I like to think everyone has already fallen in love with the masked, mute killer that is Silas Riggs, this book will cement that he is in fact one of the best MMCs EVER.

If you like your books to be gore filled, spice heavy and ripping your heart to shreds, Straitjacket is definitely for you.

I honestly have a love hate relationship with Bamforth's books because they are always a goddamn rollercoaster ride and I come out with the worst whiplash!!

Straightjacket is the sequel to Crawlspace which had me FERAL for one of our main character's, Daddy Silas. Straightjacket picks up from there, and throws us straight into more emotional mayhem, I was emotionally distraught by the end.

I cannot say it enough, but Jordan writes the most depraved, horrific and grotesque stories, and I absolutely devour them. The smut was immulate, the plot twists were shock inducing and the characters, *Silas*, were everything!

The perfect conclusion to a soul destroying duet and I am so in love. Jordan has a deeply dark and disturbed imagination, I am in awe.

Please ready trigger warnings - there are ALOT!!!

Straight jacket 🤪

This is another one that I simply could NOT wait to dive into! Being one of Bamforth’s little corpses meant I got early access & my days did this not disappoint!! 😮‍💨👏🏼

Silas & Iris are a force to be reckoned with!! Being in a mental institution is meant to break them but they still find there were to show their utter depravity!! 🤣

I can’t say much without giving spoilers but I think I might of loved this that touch bit more than crawlspace! Be prepared for your heart rate to board that rollercoaster 😅👏🏼

Thank you as always Jordan for allowing me to be part of your team & ARC read for you. Now can we all wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAAAY 🎉 & happy release day 🫶🏻🤎

I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

I was so curious to see where Iris and Silas' story would go after Crawl Space, so when I got the email with the ARC yesterday I obviously couldn't wait to start reading.

One thing I really loved is that it picks up right where book one ended. I personally love when sequels do this because you're immediately thrown back into the story without having to wait forever for things to get going.

Just like the first book, this was so easy to read and once I started I just wanted to keep going.

Sometimes I finish a book and feel like it really didn't need a sequel, but that definitely wasn't the case here. Straight Jacket actually felt like a fun and exciting addition to Iris and Silas' story and I loved getting to spend more time with them.

And that ending was so good. I really enjoyed where the story went and I'm glad we got this continuation.

Definitely recommend this series if pitch black erotic horror is your thing, but please take the warnings seriously because this book is very, very dark.

And maybe don't eat while reading it. Trust me. 🤣

After the events in Crawl Space Silas snd Iris have been taken by Doctor Thorne. What are Silas and Iris in for now, obviously nothing good. Will they survive this nightmare of this penitentiary or was it all a waste? Two rabid feral lovers in one place but kept apart. Definitely a story full of rot and gore. Honestly thought i could handle the clotted cream.. I have no clue why I thought that. At one point I was ready to end Silas' pain or torture myself. I would absolutely recommend this book and the first I the duet. Like always check your triggers first.

Wow. Just wow... I absolutely loved this. This is one of those books that makes you feel possibly every possible emotion.  I give it to Jordan, as someone who has a strong stomach, congratulations because after reading Thorne's chapters, I feel physically sick 🤢😂

If you have a strong stomach, and you love some ... Or, a lot ... of horror with your dark romances, this may be the book for you - be sure to read Crawl Space first though! Who knows, this might be the first book to make you feel sick!

Amazing and disgusting all in one book!!!

When I knew we were getting a continuation of Silas & Iris’ love story I jumped for joy! The trauma they endured and the love that continued to shine through the darkness was beautiful and the spice was spicing!!!

Dr Thorne definitely had my stomach churning multiple times and who knew there’d be a new idea to receiving head 👀 IYKYK….

Definitely check your triggers - some of mine were in this book but not heavily enough I couldn’t read it, plus I knew I had to finish their story. Especially when you get hit with unexpected twists!!!

Thank you Jordan for giving me the chance to read early!

Truly what can I say? Iris and Silas are truly my babies and what they went through was horrifyingly traumatic and devastatingly beautiful. There were parts that I wanted to throw up, others that had my heart aching, you are truly going through every emotion possible

The plot twists? I truly have no words. I hate to see that this duet is over, but what a way it ended!

5* read, this one will stick with me for a while

Wow.
This book, I ATE within a few hours. I loved crawl space so I knew I would love this just as much and have been desperately waiting for it to be released.
Once again food has been absolutely destroyed and I love this is Jordan’s signature style throughout all of her books.

The emotions were certainly a rollercoaster where I felt sick, giggled, bawled and smiled but honestly I’ve loved following Silas & Iris’s story throughout this duet

I do really recommend reading the long list of triggers before reading, as usual, as there are a lot of graphic scenes including emotional trauma’s

I will never not recommend Jordan’s books!

I will start by saying please check the triggers before your read!

Im not sure what I was expecting from book 2 but this wasnt it....its was so much better. I love asylum setting and this was one of the craziest, unhinged asylums. There was a part in this book that made me physically gag, the descriptions really built a picture and 'head fuck' now has a whole new picture for me 😂
The love story in this book is next level and the ending was perfect.

She's done it again!!
We finish the story of Iris and Silas the man who lives in the walls!
Again J.N Bamforth has put her all in to the details and deep and dark were they!

We follow silas and Iris trying to free themselves from a mental asylum amd the hands if Dr Thorne who may as say is sick!!!
We fall more in love with Silas and pray they get the ending they deserve

The book was dark and gripping, sick and twisted. But oh was it good!

Omg this was such an excellent sequel to Crawlspace. Iris and Silas are absolutely endgame and will do anything to be together even when death is staring them right in the face. Was it brutal? Yes painfully in some parts but it made their ending all the more satisfying. Behind every scary man is their equally if not scarier woman. JN you have done it again.
