good story over told.
Somewhat cliched western which became prolix over the final third.
Nevertheless, good story and characters, although the protagonist seemed to lose some of his developed insight, knowledge and wisdom in places to suit the story. Still good enough for four stars!

Please make Hawk a series, Like the Great Crow Killer series.
I read every word Alfred Dennis writes. He is a Legend in Western Literature. This was such an enjoyable read. His characters are addictive. Any novel he writes stays on the bookshelf to read again. Highly recommend.

Excellent read
Another great book from this author. Full of action, death and love. Well written with great characters. Would highly recommend this book and all others written by this author.

powerful story telling
I appreciated the pacing of the telling. I appreciated the respect for the way of life for the Apache nation. Alfred Dennis is a great story teller.
