Grab your blanket and get ready to cuddle up with this timeless collection of Peanuts goodness! Featuring brand-new adventures with Charlie Brown and the gang alongside classic strips from legendary creator Charles M. Schulz, this is the perfect read for old and new fans alike. Whether you want to take a seat at Schroeder's piano or seek counsel at Lucy's psychiatric booth, this volume features all your favorite friends in the neighborhood and has something for everybody.
While not quite as good as the previous volume, this is another strong collection of new works well in keeping with the spirit of Schulz. Miss Crabby Pageant and New Shoe Zoom stood out as the strongest, although the Airtist was one of the most unique Peanuts stories I've come across that still felt like Peanuts. The art is good as always, and everything stands strong as a continuation of Schulz' legacy.
This volume was actually very good! I loved the stories in this one, especially the new ones “Give it a Shot”, “Miss Crabby Pageant” and “December 16th” (my personal favorites). The interviews with the current artists were very interesting. They definitely all say that maintaining Schulz’s style and voice in his characters and stories is the most difficult challenge. Well, I will say this: they maintain his voice very well. They kept the tradition going. I think they would have made Schultz proud.
I didn't really know what to expect from this book, but I loved it! Read it online which was a feat for me, since I prefer print, but I really liked the format. It was interesting to see all of the different ways that the Peanuts characters could be drawn and they're very impressive. Each segment was a little different and it made it fun to read. I laughed out loud at some of these and my two favorites were the ones about Schroeder and Beethoven's birthday and Lucy and Schroeder. I'm really glad my library has these from Hoopla to check out for free! I'm going to read them all!
