If you like a fun, banter filled, love story that’s heavy on respect and connection with tons of pop culture references then this is the book for you. I absolutely had the BEST time reading this story. I adore movie/music/tv nods and had so much fun giggling at each one. The love story is just easy to read and cheer for without all the toxic masculinity and superfluous conflict. I’m a spicy girl, but I didn’t miss it at all. This book will just leave you smiling and your heart happy.

I am so excited to review S.Pedigo’s book Cosplay and Consequence (ARC). It has quickly become one of my favs. It is a “cosy” read, which like a fuzzy comfort sweater will be brought out again and again to soothe the frazzled nerves.
It is heartwarming, sweet, funny, fun and incredibly HOT!
The indie author S.Pedigo is infamous on tik tok as the hilarious and dry witted bagman (has a bag on his head). This same sense of humour is weaved throughout the book with its witty banter and nods to geek culture such as D&D, cosplay, comic con (à la The Big Bang Theory). Although these would definitely be enjoyed by self proclaimed geeks, the book is written in a way that is relevant to those of us who enjoy geek culture but are not fully immersed in it.
It is set in an imperfect world with flawed characters who love themselves and their family (found & by blood) passionately and without reservation. The woman are strong, independent and self assured while the men are kind, supportive, and considerate. It is through the coming together of all the characters that the happy endings are achievable.
The love story is reminiscent of one of those really great 80/90’s romcoms (think: 16 Candles, Bridget Jones’ Diary, 10 Things I Hate About You…). It starts off with a one night stand and mistaken identity. The two main characters are surprised by their developing feelings for each other and it is clear that they appreciation each other’s flaws, foibles and fabulousness.
Based on his socials, the author would like you to know that the book is closed door (most of the spicy stuff is not explicitly stated), but this is not a problem as it is full of smexual tension and what is shared is steamy enough to not disappointed.
And like any good geek culture phenom, justice is served: evil guys (who use and abuse others) get their just desserts and little guys (who carry the story) get rewarded.
They say good authors write the books they want to read. I don’t need to write it, here it is.
So if you like playful, fandom-inspired, romantic-comedies with steamy tension, this is the book for you.

A must read! I was in the worst months-long reading slump and Cosplay & Consequences by S. Pedigo was the cure. This quick, witty romance is everything I needed for a weekend read! Between the lovable characters, the fun setting, and the handsome love interest, I am obsessed with this story and S. Pedigo's writing! Every time life got in the way, I regretted having to put the book down and couldn't wait to get back to Danny and Jess's story.
S. Pedigo creates characters that you know and love right from the first page. They're relatable, sarcastic, funny, and human. Every character has faults that are both loved and loathed. Paige is my absolute favorite. Her sisterly sass has no ends, and every moment she had on the page brought a smile to my face. Jess is the sweet influencer MC who makes a quick critique of our handsome MC Danny. That one word, "Meh," sends her life into an upward spiral full of hilarity, romance, and life-changing connections.
Pedigo does a flawless job making this fast-paced romance feel like kismet (sorry Danny) despite contemporary views on how relationships should be built. They have the perfect chemistry, and I was ready for Danny to propose to Jess after that first encounter. And Danny? *fans self* WOO BUDDY! His image may only exist in my head, but his courting of Jess, his fatherly and brotherly love for his family, and his performance as Tyrst'an had me swooning!
Pedigo weaves a story where even the slightest detail plays a big role. Between the love of an obscure actor for his wife of many years, the unending torture that Danny endures at the hands of his personal trainer, and many, many more, this author knows how to tie in loose ends and then add a few more knots. Pay attention to EVERYTHING when reading this book. You will be greatly rewarded!

Funny, Fluffy and gloriously nerdy. The perfect light pick-me-up read for fantasy lovers who wish their favourite book boyfriend would find THEM at a fantasy convention.
Imagine calling the actor announced to play your favourite book boyfriend “meh” then coming face to face with him in an interview while panelling at a fantasy convention. *Proceeds to ask the world to swallow me whole*. This is exactly what happens to Jess after hooking up with a literal knight in shining armour at the same convention the night before. Foot in mouth chaos ensues but Jess doesn’t back down until Daniel proves he is the right guy for the job.
Cosplay and Consequences proves you don’t have to have spice in a book to have a kick-your-feet good time. The banter and tension between Jess and Daniel had me laughing out loud and honesty they may be my new favourite geeky power couple. I thoroughly enjoyed the many, MANY Easter eggs hidden throughout the novel and truly believe lovers of D&D, RPG gaming, Fantasy Worlds, comic-con and Kristen Boyce would absolutely adore this book.

Cosplay & Consequences by S. Pedigo was everything I wanted in a rom-com and more.
From the moment I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down. It’s the perfect blend of a fan-convention setting, a charming meet-cute, laugh-out-loud humor, and characters that feel like people you’d actually want to spend time with.
The chemistry between the main characters is fantastic. Their sarcasm, witty banter, and playful back-and-forth had me smiling from beginning to end. It felt natural, effortless, and made their relationship incredibly fun to follow.
One of my favorite parts of the book was all the pop culture and nerdy references. As someone who loves conventions, I couldn’t help but smile every time I caught another one. From Highlander (“There can be only one!”) to Critical Role, the references felt authentic rather than forced, making me feel like I was walking the floor of my favorite comic convention.

Cosplay and Consequences had me from the very first page. The premise alone is chef's kiss. A content creator torches a soap actor's casting online, they end up anonymously tangled together at a fantasy convention, and neither one has any idea who the other is. It's chaotic. It's romantic. It is exactly my kind of disaster.
The chemistry between Jessica and Daniel? Genuinely hot. Like, fan-yourself, read-it-twice hot. But what really got me was how fully realized these two characters are. Jessica isn't just "snarky girl online" she has layers. And Daniel is so much more than the guy trying to prove himself. The author gave them real interiority, real tension, and a romance that earns every single beat.
The fandom and convention setting is so lovingly rendered that it honestly made me want to dust off my own cosplay and start attending cons again. And if you know, you know about the Chinese food, no spoilers, but yes, I was immediately ordering takeout.
This is a story about two people who go viral for all the wrong reasons and fall for each other anyway. It's funny, it's swoony, and it's the kind of read I'll absolutely be coming back to.

I read this book as an ARC and it’s the first of S. Pedigo’s books that I’ve read, but it most certainly will not be the last! I absolutely adored this story! As a self proclaimed ‘spice reader’ I was prepared to be underwhelmed by the closed door/fade to black spice, but I was pleasantly surprised but the steam! The story is well written and has perfect pacing! The characters are endearing and the banter is top tier! I found Pedigo’s writing style to be reminiscent of Lucy Score, whom I have an entire shelf dedicated to in my home library! This is a book I could easily pick up and read a second time! I’m looking forward to its release date this August!

I loved the hallmark, fluffy and banter-filled relationship build. This book was like coming up for fresh air from the darker topics I usually read. It was fun and witty. The writing was sharp and so on point. The characters lived and breathed easily with the complex character build and descriptions, it was so easy to visualize. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who enjoys hallmark movies or cute contemporary romances as that is exactly what this embodies. I am not a person who RPG or D&D play, but it was well enough described in those parts that I followed along well! I truly believe that anyone who is interested in those games would find this book a hidden gem! Such a great read, it is definitely a feel good book that makes you root for the main characters the whole time! Thank you so much for letting me read it as an ARC! Obsessed.

It is not my usual go to genre. I am a fantasy gal. However, now and then I will read another genre if the book is good enough. This book was good enough. Ok it is not a complicated plot with lots of twists but that is what makes it such a charming book to read. The banter in it is really good and the characters are very relatable. I loved the fact it featured cosplay as well as a good game of dungeons and dragons. Yes, I am a D&D player and new DM. So this was a fun nerdy (in a very good way) read for me. It was an honour to be among the first to read this book. I would recommend this book for sure.

Sweet, funny, and original. I loved this adorable closed door romance. The characters, including the side characters, were well developed. The story would appeal to those who like a sweet romance with lots of banter AND those who enjoy cosplay, conventions, and DnD. As with most first books in a series, a side character stole the show, and I can’t wait for her story.
