This was good. Nadir always stresses me out honestly because no character is ever safe lol.
I liked Lucifer, although he was a menace to society lmao. Two faced in a good way. Hey, he kills people in his spare time but he's not missing church with his mama okay! lol. He was bout it but Ima need for him to be a little more sharp when it comes to his circle. How his right hand doing all that and he don't know? He the "King of Stapleton" and a easy lick seem like lol. Maybe the abuse from his childhood made him vulnerable. But Im still not over the whole "bring me her pussy" and he literally brought it in a box LMAO.
I already knew Paula was fake from all that hating stuff she was saying to Dawn about Lucifer. Bird brain behavior.
Dawn seemed ready to be Bonnie and that was irking me lmao like, it's dangerous outside please stay away from this man. At least he tried to warn her. A very hardheaded young lady. But she got that from her mother because she for sure wasn't listening to nobody.
What's going to happen to Dawn? At least she's adapting to the lifestyle and not being dead weight. Kudos to her.

Solid Urban Thriller
This was recommended as an Urban Romance. The blurb and marketing felt this would be Romance focused. Instead this is a solid Urban Fiction story. Set in the early 1990s circa 92-94 the story is set to follow the current king of the streets Lucifer, his crew, and burgeoning romance with Dawn. Each piece of the puzzle gets explored. The pacing feels extremely off and that's due to the fact this is a part 1. There are some twists and betrayals quick story overall. The frantic energy is there and I did care to know their outcomes but again this unfolds like an episode of BMF. The intimacy was lacking, the sex scenes weren't really there but the mindset of a hustler was the star of this show. The crime seemed realistic and the mystery behind the whodunit style crime intrigue was stellar. The book had issues with transitions in moments and overall pacing. Immediately recognizing this was not a Romance, helped round out the edges of feeling like the romance arc was lost completely.
