She isn't supposed to care about the ranch.
She definitely isn't supposed to fall for the oldest Chance brother.
And she's absolutely not supposed to trust him with her heart a second time.

Summer Daniels built her life on land she doesn't own, for a family that could take it back the second Jaxon Chance decides he wants it. Even though she works for Lucky Chance Ranch, Wildflower Farms is hers—the one thing she's built entirely on her own. She's got no interest in reliving the past, and even less interest in the infuriating hockey player who broke her heart on his way out the door after high school.

Jaxon Chance built his whole identity on hockey. A career-ending injury just took that away, and it's sent him back to the last place he ever wanted to be—his family's horse farm, now failing under a mountain of debt. The only way to save it is to run the place alongside his three brothers, under the terms of a will that gives them no choice.

What he didn't plan on was Summer Daniels, running her business on his family's land, making him remember exactly what he walked away from.

But somewhere between their first fight and long days working the horses side by side, something shifts. Summer stops bracing for the day he leaves again. And Jaxon stops pretending he wants to go.

The farm is what brought him home. But she might be the reason he finally stays.

Jaxon Chance has never planned for anything but hockey, so when a career-ending injury takes him back to his family's horse farm he's not happy. Jaxon and his three brothers plan on selling the farm, but the terms of a will make them reconsider. For Summer Daniels there's more than the farm at stake. She's built her life and Wildflower Farms on land she doesn't own, and no infuriating hockey player will take that away from her!

We've seen glimpses of Jaxon in the author's Perfect Crush Hockey series, about different players for the hockey team Carolina Crushers. Now he's got his own book and the honor of starting off a new series, where we will get to know all four Chance brothers. We can already see their relationship and how close they are and I love that! I also like that they all became athletes: two in hockey, one in football and one in baseball. I'm looking forward to read about the others in future books!

Jaxon and Summer are both extremly stubborn and as teenagers they competed about everything. This attitude still exists when they now meet as adults, and they continue to fight over everything. I'm getting slightly frustrated before their attitudes start to change! The chemistry between them is palpable and I'm very happy that we get dual POV's.

I've never been a horse girl, so the environment of a horse farm is pretty uninteresting for me. I learn a bit about horse breeding and the life at a ranch, but I'm definitely more interested in the cowboys than the horses! 😉

I recommend "One Wild Chance" to those who'd enjoy a sweet, closed-door, second chance, rivals to lovers cowboy romance with grumpy/sunshine vibes, forced proximity and found family!

I’ll start out saying I’m really not usually a fan of cowboy books. They just aren’t my thing. But this book may have changed my mind!! I absolutely loved everything about it. I love how it’s a horse farm, I always really enjoyed horse books!

Summer immediately became a favorite, her sweet personality, with a little sass. 😅 It took a little bit for me to like Jaxon, but I definitely do now! He starts out so stubborn and defiant, especially towards Summer, it he softens up fast and they become super cute characters together. 🩷

I also didn’t know this was going to have hockey vibes in it - Jaxon is an ex-hockey player, but it still talks about it a lot and he becomes a hockey coach, but I was so excited for that to be in it! That always makes a book for me. 🤭

I will be checking out this author’s backlist now, for sure!! I highly recommend this book if you enjoy a cute cowboy romance, rivals to more, forced proximity, slow burn, and sooo much more!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

No swearing

I absolutely loved One Wild Chance. I thoroughly enjoyed the rivalry, the banter and the slow shift to something more. Jaxon and Summer slowly start to open up to each other, learn more about who the other truly is, and learn to trust and lean on each other. This one had some incredibly sweet and incredibly swoony moments! I cant wait to follow the rest of the Chance brother’s stories!

"Why can't you just let someone do something for you?"
"I've never really had anyone who wanted to."
"Then let me be the first."

Thank you to Grace Worthington for my advanced copy. All thoughts are entirely my own!

cowboys and hockey ❤️

This sweet and clean romance combined two of my favorite genres, cowboy romance and hockey romance 🥰. Hero, Jaxon, was in the Perfectly series playing in the AHL for the Carolina Crushers. After a career ending hockey injury, he returns home to his family’s ranch, and to the girl he has always loved. Summer, heroine, is a cowgirl who loves horses and Wildflowers. Seeing this couple find their way to falling deeply in love, after being rivals and competitors, was so swoony and romantic. The scene with them talking through the door was one of my favorite romance scenes ever. I can’t wait to read about the other Chance brothers finding love. This is a great start to a new series. Highly recommended 😍

Once again another amazing read by Grace! I am so excited for the rest of the family’s romances! If you like rivals to more, second chance romance, small towns, cowboy/hockey players, you will love this!

Jaxon is back home to settle the family’s ranch with his brothers. What he doesn’t expect is a will that requires him to stay put and work alongside Summer. Summer and Jaxon have a past together as close friends who had chemistry. But when school was over, Jaxon took the first trip out of their town and never looked back, until an injury has him sidelined and having to decide on a different future. He doesn’t plan to stay on the family farm, but with Summer and him both locked into the will’s stipulations, they are having to be around each other a lot more than they planned. Soon the sparks start flying, but they both have too much to lose here. This time it’s a business arrangement that if it goes south, her future and his whole family’s future goes up in flames. It’s a risk they neither want to take. But perhaps they can both plan a different outcome...

This one was definitely a slow burn romance for sure, but the tension was there from the start and I was rooting for them. I loved the banter, the competing, and that first kiss! Wow! I can’t wait for Wyatt and Larissa to have their moment.

I received a complimentary copy. This review reflects my honest opinion.

Ohhh, this meet-cute, or meet-funny, or second chance meeting—whatever you want to call it—was so much fun to read! I was laughing at these two characters. Poor Summer having to run into Jaxon Chance again that way. And Jaxon not expecting to see Summer right away when coming back into town. Ha! You're going to laugh and love it! And the fun just keeps going from there with these two. The enemies to more, the forced proximity (having to work together on the ranch), second chance together, and so much more kept me completely engaged and turning the pages.

This Chance Brothers Ranch series is going to be so much fun! Now I just have to be patient for the next books to release. But in the meantime you can definitely read this one, over and over again, or go read other books by Grace Worthington. Because they're definitely worth it! I'm so glad I discovered her as she has become a favorite author and an auto read for me!

Summer and Jaxon have fantastic chemistry together. They can keep the banter going and as a reader kept me engaged in their relationship. All of the history of it, of their families, of their friendship to more to less and then back to more! Oh yeah. It's a fun and wild ride! I loved all of the ranch aspects and the flowers and horses. *Happy Sigh* While I was reading this, I was in the middle of getting cut flowers and making arrangements for a wedding and this just was the perfect backdrop for that! I really felt like I was right there on the ranch with these two. And on the rink as well! I loved how that all played out and added to this story. It's a delightful rom-com but also so much more than that. I loved the themes of family, found family, building a beautiful life together, and the sweet love story! It's all so wonderfully written and woven together.

And I have to say, that cover! Isn't it just gorgeous?! I love the colors of it all! And I can't wait to see what the next book covers in the series will be like. Are you ready for all of these Chance brothers? *Raises Hand* I am!!!

Content: Clean. There are only sweet kisses and no language. There are mentions of abandonment by parents but written in a sensitive manor.

I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

I don’t know about you, but when it comes to new series, even when they’re written by auto-buy authors, I get a little nervous.  I know to trust the process and take it as it comes, but I’m still on the edge of my seat!  I didn’t need to worry about this one, Grace Worthington can write me a cowboy story any day of the week if it’s anything like this one!

Jaxon isn’t the stereotypical cowboy though; we have seen him off/on in her ‘Perfect Crush Hockey’ series, but now that he’s injured it’s a whole new story!  Jaxon, along with his brothers, reluctantly return to their small hometown in Kentucky for the reading of their mom’s will and boy, were they surprised by the contents.  With being forced to retire, Jaxon is being forced to saddle up and face the place that he left in the rearview mirror 14 years prior.  All he wanted to do was get in, get out and find a new gig of being a hockey coach anywhere that would take him… he didn’t account for her standing in his way!

Her being Summer Daniels!  Summer has been working at the Lucky Chance Ranch since she was 16 and being the thorn in Jaxon’s side- creating a rivalry of sorts!  She learned the ropes from him and stayed on even after he and his brothers moved on.  She was even gifted a plot of acreage to grow her flowers for her small business!  Now she must work alongside the forgotten cowboy to make the ranch thriving again, so she can keep her flower business blooming!  Summer’s life lately hasn’t been easy with her mom being put into memory care and navigate the emotional and financial rollercoaster of all that too.

Over the course of this story, you read the occasional flashback to better understand the tension between our FMC and MMC – they’re worth it!  I feel like they were put in at the exact right time to help us understand the tension in the present day!  The banter is first rate, and nothing goes left unsaid between these two!  True to Grace’s style, she gives us a hint of what pairing is coming next even if we’re left in the dark for until the next book!  I know this book is going onto my shelves; it’s only a matter of time!  Job well done!

*Thank you to the author, Grace Worthington for letting me be part of ARC Team! *

I finished this book a couple of days ago and have been trying to find the best way to describe my feelings. I had a feeling I would like this book based on the title and the blurb. One Wild Chance exceeded my expectations. I felt as if I was hanging out with friends while reading this book. I found myself connecting to almost every character, especially Jaxon and Summer. What a beautiful story! I loved the way Grace portrayed the emotions of every character; it felt so real, as if I was experiencing them myself.

One of my favorite things about this book is the community of Golden Springs. I loved the way the Chance brothers supported one another and, no matter what, stood by each other. The way everyone in the town of Golden Springs supports each other had me wishing I could live there. I loved the way that they didn’t just stand by Chance brothers’ side, but Summer’s too. The community, like this one, is what I love about the found family trope.

Summer and Jaxon. I liked the pacing and the way Grace portrayed their relationship. I adored the way that Jaxon was always there for Summer, supporting her, helping her, and letting her know that he was there. It had me smiling every time. I hoped that Summer would see how much he cares for her. I loved the fact that this was a closed-door romance. I enjoy reading open-door romance, but I also love reading romance that has emotional depth and focuses more on relationship development and storytelling. The emotions will stay with you long after you turn the last page.

it was pretty cute! 🥰

(Reviewed on my husband’s account)

4.25 stars

It’s been a while since I’ve read a Grace book, so I was happy to dive into it. The cover was stunning, and it’s the start of a new series, so I thought it would be fun to read!

Overall, the story had some great moments! I loved the deep conversations Jaxon & Summer had once they laid down their snarky attitudes. They had made a lot of wrong assumptions about each other in the past, and they needed time in each other’s proximity to let down their guards. Summer’s relationship with her mom was super sweet, and it made me feel sad for the future moments she may never get to have with her. I liked the text exchanges & brotherly moments among the Chance boys. Those made me grin and want to know their future stories, too! Also, their first kiss was wonderful🔥😏.

I think the storyline with Blaine got a bit old after a while, as playing the jealousy out just felt unnecessary in the later chapters. There were times I wish the crazy townsfolk got a bit more page time, since I think they would’ve added even more humor to the book.

If you like cowboy romcoms with an independent FMC & broody MMC, this is for you!

Summer and Jaxon. What a sweet love story this was. LISTEN. THE MAN GOES OUT TO A FLOWER FIELD TO SAVE HER FROM A RAINSTORM. This story was all types of swoony. There was the classic rivals banter, a shared history from knowing each other when they were younger, and so much chemistry. I loved these two together. I loved how they worked as a team once they realized they needed to have each other’s backs. Definitely recommending this one to everyone who loves a man in a cowboy hat.

Grace Worthington is one of my absolute favourite authors, so the moment I saw that gorgeous cover — and realised this story was set on a farm — I was already halfway in love. And the setup delivers. Hardworking Summer, determined to build her business, and Jaxon, fighting to save his parents’ farm from debt… the push‑pull between them is perfection.

The chemistry hits from page one. Their “date” had me grinning, their first kiss had me squealing, and the swoony things Jaxon says? I melted. ‘I’ll always come for you, Wildflower… There was never a version of this where I didn’t show up for you.’ AHHHH. That’s the kind of line you highlight, reread, and then clutch the book to your chest.

And I have to mention *the wall moment* — their palms pressed on either side, the tension humming between them. My heart genuinely did a little flip.

This quote sums up the whole beautiful, aching, hopeful journey: ‘I’ve always been waiting for you.’ It’s tender, it’s romantic, it’s everything I want in a clean slow‑burn.

I loved every second of this book.

I received a complimentary copy of One Wild Chance and was under no obligation to leave a positive review.

I had such a good time reading One Wild Chance by Grace Worthington! This was a wonderful beginning to the Chance Brothers Ranch series. It has a Kentucky horse ranch, a former professional hockey player, interesting family dynamics, and a second-chance romance—all things that made this such an enjoyable read for me.

I really liked Jaxon and Summer together. Because they had a history, there were past hurts and feelings for them to work through, but the ranch kept bringing them back together. I loved their chemistry and banter, and I enjoyed watching their relationship develop. It was sweet, romantic, and closed door, which is exactly what I was hoping for.

I also enjoyed meeting Jaxon’s brothers. The author gave me just enough about them to make me curious about their stories, and I am already looking forward to continuing the series. I really liked the family element, and the ranch gave the story such a warm and meaningful setting.

I did have one question that stayed with me. Since all four brothers are professional athletes, I wondered why they couldn’t combine their resources to pay off—or at least significantly reduce—the ranch’s debt. It is possible that I overlooked an explanation, but I would have liked a little more clarification about the financial situation.

That question didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed Jaxon and Summer’s story. One Wild Chance was heartfelt, romantic, and completely satisfying. It was definitely a five-star read for me!

Such a cute and fun cowboy romance! I loved the chemistry and rivalry. Summer and Jaxon were so entertaining. I loved to learn about their childhood rivalry. This cowboy romance also ties in some hockey romance and I can't wait to read more from this series! The slow burn and how the feelings started to shift into something more, was perfectly done. I couldn't put it down and can't recommend it enough!

Jaxon Chance couldn’t wait to leave his hometown while Summer has found her purpose and passion at his family’s horse farm. I loved the familiar setting and seeing Jaxson’s attitude towards the farm and the legacy that his parents left behind.

Summer is an amazing lady who is not only a savvy business woman, doing everything she can to see the Chance Farm succeeds, but she is also a thoughtful daughter, making sure her mother is taken care of. This is the first book in the Chance Brothers Ranch, and it is going to be so fun to see what the other brothers’ stories will be.

Tropes and Tidbits:
enemies to more
opposites attract
found family
forced proximity
business partners
famous brothers
Bluegrass state
hate kissing

ONE WILD CHANCE is a light enemies-to-lovers trope set in a small town between two people who knew each other in high school and are thrown together again. There are fun relationships between brothers, a close best-friend relationship, horses, and then the community of this small town. An overall sweet romance.

I liked the characters in this story. I especially enjoyed the ribbing between the brothers. There is some fairly strong enemy banter in the beginning between the two love interests. That settles a bit as they are forced to work and depend on each other. I like that there is already a history between them, so the romance isn't starting from nothing, but instead has a foundation. Then that grows as they get to know each other as adults. There are some sweet moments between the main characters with some kids, the horses, and some of the older generation on the farm. The romance is very sweet.

I also had some issues with the story. The characters and their reactions were all over the place and not consistent at all. Nor did they react the way you would think to each other in a lot of their interactions. They both felt a bit immature, especially at the beginning, and didn't act consistent with their own character backgrounds. It honestly felt a bit messy and made it hard for me to fully invest.

In the end, was it what I wished for? This is a quick, light read for fans of second-chance romances, set in small towns, with fun banter between brothers and enjoyable characters.

One Wild Chance by Grace Worthington is book number one in her new Chance Brothers Ranch series. Summers Daniels has worked at the Lucky Chance Ranch since high school. She started Wildflower Farms, but is not entirely hers as it is on the Chance Ranch. Jaxon Chance has had a career ending injury in hockey, and hockey has always been his whole life. When he comes home to his family’s horse farm he needs to stay and work the ranch to keep it is in his family. He has always cared for Summer, but have they both grown up enough to really see each other?

I absolutely adored Jaxon and Summer’s love story. I was so engaged in the story and loved watching Summer and Jaxon mature, fall in love and realize what was right in front of them. They had great banter, chemistry and a strong friendship which was brought to life on the pages in this Rival to Lovers story. I loved the small-town setting, the ranch, and meeting all four Chance brothers who are professional athletes. I was absorbed in the story and can not wait get to know the other Chance brothers better.

There was a sweetness about the book which was like being wrapped in a warm hug. I loved One Wild Chance and very highly recommend. This will be a 2026 highlight for me and I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.

One Wild Chance by Grace Worthington is a contemporary romance with a mix of humor and seriousness.

Worthington does well writing the rub between the MCs. This was a genuine enemies-to-more, where they genuinely had beef with each other. I also liked the family dynamic between the brothers, and how Jaxon's parents had created a "second home" of sorts for Summer.

There are several funny parts that made me laugh. The chaos only a small town can have, and the constant gossiping all created scenes that will have readers laughing out loud. There are also several solemn parts, especially when we're reading the interaction between Summer and her mom, who has early-onset Alzheimers, and when the deaths of two secondary characters are being discussed.

The romance is just a little "more" than my usual preference. There's a brief line about her thinking about him pinning her against the barn wall and basically wondering "what if", and some of the kisses are a lot heavier and lean into heavy make-out sessions. But watching the two actually fall in love was cute.

Out of the remaining three bothers, I think I'm most looking forward to Grady's story.

Cowboys, small-town romance, AND a former hockey player?!

One Wild Chance by Grace Worthington, published by Poets & Saints Publishing, was such a sweet small-town romance!

I loved the setup-four professional athlete brothers returning home to their struggling family ranch with absolutely no idea how to be cowboys. 😂 Add in a grumpy former hockey player, a stubborn wildflower farmer, and plenty of unresolved feelings, and this was such a fun start to the series!

Jaxon and Summer had such an entertaining dynamic, and I really enjoyed the rivals-to-more aspect of their relationship. There’s just something about two characters with history being forced together that makes all that tension and yearning even better! I also loved the cozy atmosphere of the ranch, Summer’s wildflower fields, and the old barn. And, of course, I appreciated getting plenty of romantic chemistry while still keeping everything sweet and closed-door! 🌸

🌸 Cowboy romance
🌸 Rivals to lovers
🌸 Forced proximity
🌸 Second-chance vibes
🌸 Small town
🌸 Closed-door romance

“Kissing Jaxon Chance would be something I’d remember for a lifetime, and it might ruin me for good.”
I just read One Wild Chance by author Grace Worthington published by Poets & Saints Publishing and thought it was a cute romcom. This story is in dual POV which I really liked and I think helped me understand the characters more. Jaxon Chance is returning home to care for his family’s farm as a way to earn his inheritance after suffering a career ending hockey injury. He doesn’t want to be there and finding out he has to work beside Summer, the girl he always kept at arm’s length, is not helping matters.
The enemies to lovers vibes were super strong in this one and built up the tension so well that when that first kiss finally happened, let’s just say it was an excellent “hate-kiss” that curls the toes. I loved how resilient Summer was and that she held her own. It was also fun watching Jaxon step up and be the person she needed. The workplace proximity upped the ante too and overall, I enjoyed the story and the characters. I recommend this book.

This was my first book by this author and it was a sweet and light enemies to lovers trope type of story. The premise of the storyline is good and I am curious how it will play out with the rest of the brothers in the upcoming books. The setting is a beautiful farm in a small town where every one knows everyone.

The characters are well thought out but I felt like the enemies to lovers situation was rather quick in becoming that trope. I think a bit more angst could have been good for the storyline. Sometimes their actions regarding situations was a bit all over and things seemed to resolve too quickly which didn't seem realistic. I know its fiction but it isn't a fantasy story so it should at least make a little bit of sense. That being said the theme of the story was sweet and they did have good mushy heart moments, as I like to call them.

If you are looking for a quick sweet read this is the book to pick!

He came home to save the farm. Falling in love was not part of the plan.

Ohhh I loved this one! But really, there isn’t one of Graces’ books that I don’t love!! There’s just something about her books that feel tender, emotional, and full of heart and they get me every single time, add in the fact that this one was a second chance trope, and I’m hooked!!

Summer is stubborn, determined, and has big dreams for the ranch and her wildflower business. Jaxon came home after losing his hockey career to save the family farm.. these two were trying to turn an old barn into a wedding venue and you KNOW their old feelings ain’t staying buried. Their banter, the rivalry, the forced proximity, and especially all that unresolved yearning had me swooning!

Another great read from Grace Worthington. How can you go wrong with Cowboys, hockey players, enemies to more and wild flowers? It’s always fun to read about characters who start off cold and closed off and end up opening themselves up and falling into the best love ever. Grace wrote this perfectly. I’ve never read a book of hers I didn’t like. And the banter between these two was hilariously perfect. A few times I had to remember to quiet my laughing but sometimes the laughter just came out.
I’m looking forward to reading more about the Chance brothers.

I was a little nervous by the start, as enemies to lovers is not my favorite, but this one wasn't really that. I'm curious to see how the series unfolds with the ranch, new couples breathing new life into it. I loved seeing Jaxon evolve from where he was at the beginning. I was also happy that Summer got what she needed, especially from her mom. I will definitely be continuing this series

I have very much been in the mood for cowboy romances lately, so when I saw that Grace Worthington was writing a cowboy series, I was thrilled. After all, I've loved all of her other books that I've read so far... and thankfully, this one was no exception. If you have read her previous books may recognize Jaxon from the Crushers/ Perfect Crush series. Though you don't need to have read that series to enjoy this one, as a fan, it was fun to see a familiar character and get his story... and what a story it was! While Jaxon has been playing professional hockey until an injury sidelines that career, Summer has been working with his mom to run the Lucky Chance Ranch and build her own flower business. When his mom passes, he finds himself having to return to and run the ranch thanks to a condition of the will. And let's just say, things get off to a rough start between these two upon his return... the banter drew me in right away and I couldn't get enough. I loved seeing the history between these two and found myself rooting for them to get their chance at love... and at saving the ranch. The chemistry was just as great as their banter, and their story truly had such a beautiful feeling of coming home and found family that I adored. This was such a great start to the new series, and I absolutely cannot wait to see what is going to happen at Lucky Chance Ranch next!

One Wild Chance is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.

I have been a fan of Grace Worthington’s writing for years. I have loved all of her wonderful books, but I do have to admit that I think this one might be my new favorite of hers! I absolutely fell in love from page one. Summer and Jaxon were two people I enjoyed reading about tremendously. Summer’s storyline really stood out to me because of her strength and determination. It broke my heart that she was so alone and had to carry so much on her shoulders. I loved reading how she found happiness and someone to share things with.

Jaxon’s storyline with giving up his career was very interesting. At first, he wanted nothing more than to leave and never come back. However, after some time around the ranch, he realized that he belonged there.

Grace Worthington always amazes me with her wonderful writing. This book is one of my favorite reads of this year, possibly of all time. I am jealous of those who get to read this book for the first time again. I will be rereading it so many times. If you haven’t picked up one of her books yet, this is the perfect place to start. You will fall in love and be excited for this series to continue!

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

I did not want to put this book by Grace Worthington down. It just kept me wanting to read more. The characters were so great. The plot is intriguing. Everything about it is just so great!

Jaxon is a character who has played hockey in this author's series about the Carolina Crushers. But he's been injured, and gone home to his family ranch in Kentucky. Little does he know that due to the requirements of his parents will, he'll be forced to stay there and learn how to run Lucky Chance Ranch. And even worse, Summer Daniels is still there.

I loved Summer. She's the kind of girl who makes things work for her. She is running her own flower shop, and keeping her bills paid. I love the way she was with Jaxon. She did not give in to him, even when he thought she should. I love that Summer did not give up at all, even when things seemed to be stacked against her.

This enemies to lovers story has my heart. I'll be thinking about this one for a long time!
