Everyone thought being someone's mistress would be easy, but not everyone knows what goes on behind closed doors.
"Cheater" that's all she sees when she gazes into the mirror.
"I should be wearing a fucking scarlet letter" she growls towards her reflection.
Full of guilt and disgust, Haley's mind reels to the man that caused it all - that disgusting, cheating man. That cocky smirk and those egotistical remarks made her scowl with annoyance and frustration.
But it was those glorious full-bodied muscles gleaming beneath the beads of sweat that both of their bodies produced during that oh-so-sensuous act which entrapped her thoughts. The feeling of his body pressed against hers, the ripple of his abs rubbing against her flesh – it all was enough to cause her body to shiver, even now, when she was on the brink of a full-blown meltdown.
Haley pulled her muddled hair into a ponytail, and tried to remain calm. Afterall, people cheat all the time. She wasn’t the one cheating, right?
Wrong.
No matter how much of a lying and deceitful ass Preston was, she was still as guilty – if not more so. She was guilty not only of sleeping with another woman’s husband, but the father of the children she had been the nanny of since the oldest one’s birth twelve years ago.
Note to reader: This is part one of two, and ends with a cliffhanger. It is filled with a lot of steamy loves scenes and definitely not recommended for readers below 18!
I like how the story started though I kind of wished it started where... the two were exchanging subtle glances or it started when they first did it together, I mean, what pushed them at that moment, how they ended up like that, what caused the build up?
I love how guilty Hailey felt and yet she couldn't stop herself from remembering what happened and when she came face to face with Preston, she was once again, boneless, or something.
I love taboo stories, especially if the heroine is the mistress!
It was all good...then the author wrote Marissa's POV. I read it at first, then skipped when she talked about her quitting her job and so and so. I skipped most of her POV's and chose those I think is necessary to read.
I also didn't read the sex scenes between Marissa and Preston, that's just gross! He was a friggin asshole! He had sex with her! over and over! Damn him!
I skipped quite a lot, those unimportant or uninteresting conversations and most of the wife's POV. I kind of wished that it was written in 1st person, I would have felt more attached to the characters.
Haley's gonna get pregnant, right? I hope so, then she'll leave and he'll go after her and find out that they're pregnant!! I mean, come on Hailey! Just leave! I love you but have some self respect! or atleast make it hard for him or make him jealous or whatever!
This was a really well written book. Not your usual story of infidelity. One of the parties actually felt guilty. You don't hear that very often. Would of like to find out the rest of how it goes after the confession.
