“Folks are usually about as happy as they make their minds up to be.” ― Abraham Lincoln
If you discover that you’ve been stuck in a goal for a while, try restating it in “who am I” terms rather than “what I want” terms. For instance, rather than saying “I want to lose a certain amount of pounds.”, say “I am someone that manages herself by keeping my weight around the healthy weight which is a good range for my length and age.” Be as certain as you can. Observe that “I want to be somebody that helps others” could mean everything from a clerk in the supermarket to a medical expert. Concentrate on who you strive to be. After that ask your self what actions could be fit with your desire “to be” rather than “get”.
