Small-town Oklahoma and the friendships they produce are embedded in Sharon Srock’s heart. After spending her first fifteen years on the move, living in fourteen homes and attending thirteen schools, she landed in a tiny central Oklahoma community and made it her own. As someone who’s been blessed to be a part of the same hometown church for more than five decades, Sharon writes stories of hope built from her own unique perspective—stories that demonstrate a sisterhood formed not by blood but by heart, where ordinary women are able to do extraordinary things thanks to the friends who surround them and the faith that pulls them through. Sharon still lives in the middle of nowhere, Oklahoma, with her husband and three very large dogs. When she isn’t writing, she loves to read, cook, and travel. One of these days, she’s going to figure out how to do all three at the same time.
This is a good book, well written, good storylines.... I really enjoy how the characters are connected and appear in each other stories. BUT......ARE THERE NO PERSONS OF COLOR IN GARFIELD??? There are constant reminders of how everyone is blue eyed, blonde, green eyed, silky Brown hair....Caucasian. A group of women in today's society.....and they are all the same culture? Even the people they helped....the ladies the brought into the circle as the stories progessed.....no one could be Latino, Asian, African American???? No one?? That certainly limits the marketability to readers.....and that would broadened the appeal. Again, good books, great writing, keeps you engaged.....but could be more diverse.
I really was blessed by these books. Ordinary women went through some awful struggles with God’s help and with the help of their sisters in Christ. I can’t wait to read the next books! Very well done!
I loved these books. I read the third book a long time ago and liked it, but it was much better this time after reading the books in order. Insightful, realistic, and uplifting. So good.
Wow !!! Three books in one, The first three book in the series, dealing with ordinary women and their extraordinary faith. The books deals with issues we all face and how the Lord helped them work through the issue. This is a must read
Awesome series that you'll want to read! Each book is inspirational as you read about a group of friends that depend on their Monday night Bible study and cheesecake chats. Read them all!
