Before Britt can process the truth, violence strikes.

Determined to help rescue the child, Britt joins forces with FBI Special Agent Stein Nordahl, a man who has spent years hunting the assassin responsible for his own father's death. As the search intensifies, Britt and Stein uncover a web of secrets that reaches deep into the intelligence world. Forced on the run through the unforgiving Pacific Northwest wilderness, they face deadly ambushes, corrupt agents, and betrayals from people they thought they could trust.
But time is running out for Willow.

And in a battle shaped by secrets, betrayal, and faith, Britt must decide what kind of legacy she will claim.
She Will End This is a pulse-pounding romantic thriller from Colleen Coble and Rick Acker about family secrets, dangerous loyalties, and the choices that define us.
USAToday bestselling author Colleen Coble lives with her husband, Dave, in Arizona. She is the author of dozens of novels including the Rock Harbor Series, the Aloha Reef Series, the Mercy Falls Series, the Hope Beach Series, the Lonestar Series and two Women of Faith fiction selections, Alaska Twilight and Midnight Sea. She has more than 6 million books in print.
This pulse-pounding thriller has it all: hacked robotaxi, Mossad assassin, CIA operative, rogue agents, terrorists, and a kidnapping! Tying it all together is a wonderful faith thread about God’s protection and the warning about the seemingly innocent tiny steps we might take away from God.
The narrative centers on a daughter who innocently uploads her DNA to a genealogy website, opening a Pandora’s box of secrets and cover-ups.
“It changes everything, Mom. Everything I know for sure is a lie.”
What do you do when everything you’ve ever known is uncertain and quite possibly a lie?
The co-writing duo made it possible for me to instantly slip into Brittany Olsen’s shoes, allowing the shock of the cover-up and betrayal to keep me turning pages. I kept asking myself what I’d do in each of the circumstances Britt found herself in, and my empathy for her situation increased.
I appreciated the twists, the perfect pacing, the red herrings, the unpredictability of the characters, and the faith thread. I pondered how heredity and environment shape who we are as well as what kind of legacy I want to leave.
I had difficulty believing Britt’s romantic relationship as it seemed to appear out of nowhere. I must have missed the cues! I laughed at my notes attached to the following quote: “He hadn’t realized the depth of his feelings for her.” I added ‘Me neither, dude’ on my Kindle highlight.
I also found that the sections about the Flow (after the rustic Scandinavian cabin and after Schmuel) seemed to be randomly inserted and had little effect on the narrative … for me.
My takeaway? “Loyalty blinds you.” This is great advice to keep in mind as I journey along.
This is a standalone thriller and it needs to be on your night table!
I was gifted this copy and was under no obligation to provide a review.
A simple DNA test upends True Crime writer Brittany Olsen’s life. She learns her father is not who he seems to be, and her mother has a complicated past tangled in the CIA.
Before Britt can digest all of this new information, the president’s 5 year old granddaughter, Willow Hamilton, is abducted and Britt’s father is the prime suspect. Britt teams up with FBI Special Agent Stein Nordahl to locate the missing girl. Will they find her before it’s too late?
I love this writing duo! They create realistic thrillers that keep me on the edge of my seat. This story is full of family secrets, hidden identities, a manhunt, deadly ambushes, a dash of romance, and has a Pacific Northwestern wilderness setting.
This story kept me invested throughout. I enjoyed Britt’s no nonsense character and her relationship with Agent Stein.
I look forward to what these authors come up with next!
🎧The audio of this story was performed by Jane Oppenheimer. She did a wonderful job bringing this story to life.
Thank you to NetGalley, Thomas Nelson Fiction, and Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio for the advance copy of the ebook and audiobook of this story. All opinions are my own.
This book is one of the best suspense novels that I’ve read . With over 300 pages there’s a lot of riveting suspense and edge of seat moments. The further you read into this book the more you find out. There’s romance too and danger lurks in every corner. Readers will find it very hard to put this book down and the lights will be burning late into the night. Even though the story moves slowly you will find yourself being glued to the book. Of course there’s a few murders and chases that will make you want to chew your nails. This book has two Authors. Colleen Coble and Rick Acker. The story itself is about an author who is actually doing research for another book she hopes to write about a serial killer. She gets sucked into the actual search for the real serial killer who she wants to write her book about. This book is entertaining and realistic. If you love reading suspense you will enjoy this book. You won’t want to miss reading it. Let yourself get caught up in the story. I read an advanced readers copy of She Will End This. All comments and opinions expressed here in this review are my own. #SheWillEndThis #NetGalley
An action-packed romantic suspense story! A crime writer teams up with an FBI agent on the hunt for a ruthless assassin. Fans of Charles Martin, Jessica Patch and Davis Bunn will enjoy this thrilling novel set in the Pacific Northwest.
This quick-paced story mixes in modern day technology and current politics with a human interest side to make the characters come alive. The setting was a familiar one for me, so it was easy to picture the scenes in the forest and on the coast. The authors do a great job of bringing the story together with some surprising twists and turns. It was fun seeing a few "Easter eggs" with some crossover characters from another series mentioned.
There are a few brief pauses for questions of faith that the main characters wrestle with along the way, plus some deep family issues that need working out. Some gritty topics are touched on, but they are handled with care. A satisfying conclusion made all the angst worth it.
A terrifc read for fans of suspense thrillers with a clean romance. Recommend!

Wow, this was a page turner! I love these authors together, and this was their best book yet. It was fast paced and the characters were easy to root for. I also liked the switching of POVs as that gave more insight into the story from both the protagonist and antagonist view. Highly recommend for anyone who loves suspense.
I received an advanced copy from Net Galley. All opinions expressed are my own.
This is a Christian Romantic Suspense/Thriller. I read this book by listening to the audiobook, and I really enjoyed the audiobook. It was well done. This pulled me into it right away, and I could not put it down. This book took me on a crazy wild ride that I was loving the whole time. This book is filled with crazy twists and turns, and it is packed with action and suspense. The romance was in the background and there were no steamy times in this book, but there were a few kisses. I loved the connection and trust the two main characters had for each other, and I could feel it. This was a great read that I loved so much. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

She Will End This was a fast-paced, on-your-mark, go-and-don’t-stop-until-the-end kind of read. However, I didn’t enjoy this as much as I had the previous ones by these authors. I don’t know, but it was still an entertaining read. 3.5 Stars.
My gratitude to Netgalley and Thomas Nelson. All opinions expressed are honest and mine.
Do you love books that keep you guessing until the end and twists that you don't see coming? If so, this book is it! Even while I guessed about one person, the twist that came afterwards had me shocked. Britt has taken a DNA test to see if she carries the same gene for the disease that her Dad just passed away from. Little does she know that the test will put her right in the bullseye of a psychopath. Plus reveal a secret that her parents kept from her. FBI special agent Stein barely makes it into town right as Britt is in the process of being carnapped. While that might not be a word, you will understand it after reading the book. This book kept me up way into the night wondering what was going to happen next. Along with a plot to get highly sensitive material by kidnapping the president's granddaughter. You won't know who to trust. The only regret that I had while reading this book was, Why didn't I read it sooner? I want to thank Netgalley for allowing me to read this amazing book. Grab it as soon as it hit the shelves, you will be happy that you did. Just expect to lose some sleep.
I really enjoyed this book because I enjoy true crime and the main character, Britt Olsen, is a true crime author. The story follows with Britt finding out from DNA feedback that her father is not who she thinks. He is a trained assassin who has kidnapped the President's granddaughter and wants to now come after Britt. She and an FBI agent, Stein, work together to free the girl with a web of secrets to uncover along the way. I especially enjoyed all the twists and turns this story took that keeps you want to keep reading. I found the characters engaging and especially enjoyed how Britt uses her knowledge of how perpetrators think to problem solve along the way. I especially liked how Britt and her mom, Jenni, are Christians who love Jesus relying on their faith for strength. Overall, I found this book well written and would recommend this book to readers who enjoy suspense, mystery, and true crime. Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for providing an advance review copy. All opinions are my own.

‘Why did one family get shipwrecked while the other sailed safely through the shoals of suffering?’
Britt Olsen is a true crime writer and knows the minds of serial killers and psychopaths. However, she never expected to share DNA with one.
Following the death of her father from Huntington’s disease, Britt decides to enter a ‘23 and me’ style genetic testing to determine if she may carry the hereditary illness. But when the results show she has been lied to her whole life, she has a difficult conversation with her mum, discovering she was once a CIA Agent and that Britt is the daughter of her and a most-wanted assassin, Abbadon.
But as Britt tries to come to terms with her family’s multiple lies, violence strikes. Five-year old Willow Hamilton - the President’s Granddaughter - is kidnapped, with the prime suspect being Abbadon. Using her knowledge, Britt joins forces with FBI Agent Stein Nordhal to try and find Willow and of course, Abbadon. Stein has spent years looking for the criminal to avenge the death of his father by the assassin, but as he and Britts’ search deepens, they enter the murky world of intelligence.
As the investigation intensifies, and Willows’ time is running out, Britt begins to ask some difficult questions. Can she trust those around her? Does she have what it takes to stop Abbadon’s catastrophic plan? Are we defined by nature and the blood in our veins or nurture and how we are raised? Will she and Stein be able to find Willow and Abbadon and get the answers to years of trauma?
This fast-paced, compelling story has lots of twists, turns, action and red herrings, this is an excellent read for thriller lovers! I second guessed so many of the characters, which kept the suspense heightened and the ending was a surprise!
With AI, cryptocurrency, electronic communications and politics around data, this is a story with lots of modern elements. There is also betrayal, domestic tension and romance. Some difficult discussions are had and the writers deal with this sensitively, although trigger warnings should be read.
Thank you to NetGalley, Colleen Coble and Rick Ackers and Thomas Nelson Fiction for the ARC in return for an honest review.
This is probably one of the best books I've read all year! I couldn't read this fast enough and loved every page! I was gifted an ARC of this book and was so grateful because I loved it. The suspense was intense and the characters were well developed. The action was non-stop and I liked how the romance between Stein and Britt developed at a believable pace. Britt's rather ordinary life is shattered when she discovers that she is the daughter of an assassin! Can you even imagine that? I sure can't! She's a true crime writer but even she can't come up with something like that! She feels her whole life has been a lie! When her father comes after her to "claim her", her life becomes a nightmare. What's worse is that the President of the USA's granddaughter has been kidnapped and Britt's story becomes embroiled in that too. Stein is an FBI agent who has been hunting Britt's assassin father for years and this is his chance to get him. He has his reasons. He doesn't know that he will also find betrayal within the investigation and be on the run with Britt, the President's granddaughter and not know who to trust! I loved every word and it could have lasted several more chapters! I would have enjoyed that! I heartily recommend this book!
Brittany completes a DNA test and is shattered to learn that her father may not be who she thought, and her mother has a hidden past as a CIA agent. When Britt is nearly kidnapped, FBI Special Agent Stein Nordahl, rescues her, and together, they seek to bring down the man responsible, Britt's biological father. This man is also responsible for the kidnapping of the US Vice President's granddaughter, and Britt and Stein are determined to rescue the little girl.
This book has a lot of suspense, but Britt's numerous close calls and narrow escapes are too convenient and unbelievable. The relationship between Britt and Stein is predictable and therefore didn't add much to the overall tension in the story. I've read other titles by this author and enjoyed them, but this one was just a bit too far-fetched, making it an average read.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
Not a bad premise or story but way too many plot points for one book. I wish they would have narrowed them down and developed a few rather than sped through so many.
One of the things that I love about Colleen Coble is how well she does her series/trilogies and her standalone stories. I appreciate how she can tell a story over multiple books or in one book.
However, She Will End This left me wishing this had been a duology or trilogy. I felt that there was a lot to this story but so much of it felt rushed or disjointed. In the opening scene of meeting Britt, I wish as a reader I had some background before jumping immediately into the action. I felt for Britt upon learning her parentage was different than she thought. And I wish I had some time to see Britt grieve and try to understand what had happened. But because she's immediately thrown into the world of spies and spooks, there wasn't enough time for Britt to really sit with the results of her DNA test.
Enter Stein, an FBI agent, with an axe to grind. Again, we got very little back story into who Stein was and why the DNA alert mattered to him. I felt at times that I didn't really know or understand his motivations beyond what felt like simple revenge. And while revenge can be an excellent motivator, it didn't feel true to the character. And as a reader, I was left trying to figure out who Stein was and if he was trustworthy.
Stein and Britt are forced to be on the same team against a common enemy, Abbadon, Britt's father. He is well known in the spy world and he's never managed to get caught. But now that he knows about Britt, he has his eyes set on reuniting with his daughter. No matter what. Stein initially sees Britt as a means to end. A way to get close to Abbadon. But he also doesn't know if he can trust Britt or her mom. He isn't sure the story of them not knowing is the truth. This begins the game of cat and mouse. Britt constantly on the run and Abbadon chasing her until she is in his grasp. In addition to this storyline, there is the story of Willow, the president's granddaughter. She has been kidnapped by Abbadon and his henchmen.
Once the stories merge, I still felt a bit out of the loop. The game of cat and mouse was still happening. But then you add the tangled web of deceit happening with the president's inner circle and the intelligence agencies, you were never sure who to trust.
And then there is the added romance between Britt and Stein. I wasn't really rooting for this relationship. I didn't find it believable. Mostly because I felt neither character knew that much about the other. And while I definitely think you can fall in love fast and learn later, I missed the building of the relationship that Colleen Coble writes so well.
This is why I think a duology would have been an amazing way to tell this story. I feel that it would have given the opportunity to let multiple stories breath and give the reader a chance to buy into the relationships happening on the page. I would have loved book one to explore Britt's grief and her desire to stay one step ahead of Abbadon. And have book one end on the cliff hanger of capturing Britt and Willow. And book two follow their attempts to be rescued and/or escape. Plus the webs of deceit.
While I definitely found myself invested in the storyline, I was slightly disappointed by how rushed the storylines felt.
Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for this early digital ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
“She Will End This” by Colleen Coble and Rick Acker might just be their best co-authored novel yet. Brittany has lost her father to Huntington’s disease. She lives in fear that she carries the disease and will die from it as well, so she submits to testing in order to find out for sure if she has the disease or not. Part of that testing leads to some dangerous findings which spiral her life into a whole new dimension of danger. Stein is an FBI agent who has spent much of the past several years hunting for one specific criminal mastermind. This has not always been his primary assignment, but it is his personal assignment after this criminal killed his father (who also was an FBI agent). Britt and Stein end up thrown together. Britt learns some interesting truth about her family life that she had no idea about previously. Danger abounds. Deeper lies involving the government come about. Britt and Stein are in a fight for not only their lives, but for the lives of their family members and for the life of a little girl. This story just has it all, and the authors blended everything together so well that I just want another book like this one very soon!
The story flows so seamlessly and the action kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the book. The plot is spot on with just the right amounts of danger, conflict, information, and suspense without overloading the reader with hit after hit of horrible events or precarious situations. Yes, there is a lot of peril! Yes, there is a ton of suspense! But, this book does not feel like I am getting sucker punched by the plot in every scene. This book just hit all of the best things about suspenseful fiction for me. Also, the characters are interesting, they show good character arc, they are real-to-life and not fantasy-style characters. The villain is horrible, just the way a villain should be, but it is an intellectual, slimy, incomprehensible evil which makes them even more someone that I as a reader love to hate. The villain thinks so highly of themselves that it is like they do not even see their own evil. Faith is a backbone of this story, but it is not preachy or overdone at all, just a quiet, faithful, and consistent presence in certain characters to really bring out Truth and the way to hope, courage, and peace being through God.
I highly recommend this book. You will not regret it if you love suspense. Grab a comfy spot and hang on for the great ride through this literary escape.
Oh wow!!! I am not normally a big fan of romantic thrillers because to be honest the romance gets in the way of a good story but I am a BIG fan of this author. When I saw she had a new book out I just had to have and boy am I glad I did. I was captivated right from the start and the romance didn't get in the way, in fact I don't think the author took a breath throughout what with everything going on and all the action. I loved every minute. I loved the characters and might have even cheered when ever Britt got the upper hand. To say the author makes you care about the characters and what happens to them is an under statement. I think I was on tender hooks the whole time and most definitely was shaking my head when they trusted my suspect. I know this because my mum have me a funny look. As for the plot, well it could grace the silver screen, it was that good. Its a film I would watch, especially with knowing who the traitor was as if would mean I could sit back and let it play out. There was a lot going on, plenty of action, suspicion and heart. It's the type of story that you can't write much in the review without giving anything way and what you write won't do it justice. Just a great story and should be in everyone's must read list.
For FBI Special Agent Stein Nordahl going after Abaddon is personal, he is the man responsible for his father's death. So when an email lands in his junk folder from an ancestor site claiming he has a daughter, he hits the road to find out what she knows. Unfortunately for Britt the news comes as a shock as she never knew the man she thought as was her father wasn't. That's not the only secret her mother has been keeping either. She used to work for the CIA and has been planning for this disaster for years because Abaddon is not getting his hands on her daughter. Stein arrives just in time to save Britt from a kidnapping but with the assassin hot on there tail, they have to go into hiding, good job the CIA trained her mother well. At the same time Abaddon name has been linked to the presidents granddaughter being kidnapped. With Stein the expert on Abaddon he is torn rescue the girl which could end badly or stay with Britt and wait for Abaddon to come to him? I liked the narrator. She made a great story even better by bringing the characters and action to life. I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Get ready for a high-stakes, nonstop adventure full of twists and turns that just don’t stop! Colleen Coble and Rick Acker have taken things to the next level in this thriller that raises the stakes with every chapter. Make sure you set aside a lot of time to read, because once you start this, you won’t be able to put it down.
Britt Olsen has only just found out that her real father, Abaddon, is an assassin when he becomes the main suspect in a kidnapping case—and the little girl he kidnapped just happens to be the president’s granddaughter.
FBI Agent Stein Nordahl has been after Abaddon for years, and he suddenly finds himself working alongside Britt for a common goal: finding Abaddon and rescuing Willow Hamilton. Together, they face danger from all sides as Abaddon closes in— and not everyone on the “good side” is able to be trusted.
I occasionally get a little overwhelmed by books that have this level of depth, involving FBI, CIA, DHS, assassins and government-related conflicts, but this one was very well-written and the super high-stakes made everything feel so much more critical.
The inclusion of Willow’s childlike POV was cute, and she ended up being one of my favorite characters.
My favorite thing about this book was the unexpected wilderness adventure. I love all things camping/woodsy and when Britt and Stein found themselves trying to survive in the Pacific Northwest wilderness, I was ecstatic.
There are several twists, and I have seen a lot of people kept saying that the ending was such a shock, but I actually saw most of the twists coming aside from one little detail that had never occurred to me. Still, it was very well-done and the last twist especially brought more meaning to the book and wasn’t just there as a “gotcha” moment.
Another thing I really loved was seeing places from “I Think I Was Murdered” again, like North Haven, the Cathedral and Bestemor’s. Those were fun little Easter eggs in the midst of another great read.
There was a distinct part of this book I disliked, but that was only because it was stressing me out. The authors did a fantastic job writing it, actually, because it made my blood absolutely boil.
Favorite characters: Britt Olsen and Willow Hamilton
Final rating: 5 Stars
I was given an advanced reader copy of this book through Netgalley and was under no obligation to write a review.
Completed: October 2026 Format: audio-arc & e-arc from Net Galley Narrator: Jane Oppenheimer — really good and well-suited for a romantic thriller
Challenge Prompt: tbd
Book #96 of 2026: Talk about action! This is a fast-paced adrenaline rush with twists and turns. It held my attention and had me watching & listening for clues.
The main characters are Britt, a crime novelist, and Stein, a Special Agent for the FBI. Britt discovers through a DNA test that the man she knew as her dad cannot be her biological father. She also comes to learn that her mother had previously been a CIA spook AND that a very dangerous Mossad assassin is her bio dad. Abaddon has learned that he has a daughter and he means to capture her. Agent Stein Nordahl must protect Britt from Abaddon, the very man who murdered his own dad.
As they are on the run, it becomes difficult to know who is a friend and who is a foe. They come to rely on one another and see the good in each other. Their walls begin to crumble. Britt and Stein also have the pressure of protecting the granddaughter of the President whom they rescued from the clutches of Abaddon.
Things are not always good deep in the world of intelligence. I feel that this novel has a nod to real world truths. There certainly are some criminal elements as well as rogue intel agents, untrustworthy politicians, etc. The authors also include AI, crypto, FISA abuse, political corruption, location trackers, etc.
Both deal with family issues, personal issues, and a hesitancy to trust. Britt fears her warped biological connection may be more powerful than the good upbringing she has with her Christian mother. There is faith content but I do wish it had been a little more prevalent.
There were times I felt there was too much going on. On the other hand, I did still guess who the mole was well before the reveal. It is an exciting novel and I do recommend it as an enjoyable read.
* My thanks to Thomas Nelson and Net Galley for providing me with an advance copy of both the audiobook and digital book. My rating and review are both voluntary. My opinion is in my own words.
She Will End This was one of those books that hooked me from the very first chapter and did not let go!
Colleen Coble and Rick Acker make an amazing writing team. This story has everything I love in a good suspense novel—FBI, CIA, DHS, Secret Service, local police, even Israeli intelligence—and somehow, with all those players involved, I could never quite figure out who could actually be trusted.
The twists and turns were fantastic. At one point, I was so shocked by a reveal that I literally shut the book and stared at it with my mouth open. That’s when you know a suspense novel has done its job!
The story follows three viewpoints: Brittany, a bestselling true-crime author; Stein, an FBI agent hunting the man who killed his father; and the mysterious Arradon. Brittany and Stein quickly find themselves caught in a dangerous game where the stakes keep getting higher—and their enemy always seems to be one step ahead.
But what I especially appreciated was that underneath all the action and intrigue, there’s a deeper story about identity. Brittany has to wrestle with some difficult questions about who she is and whether her past and family history determine the person she will become. I loved that Coble and Acker didn’t shy away from the faith element, either. It felt like an important part of Brittany’s journey rather than something simply tacked onto the story.
This was truly an edge-of-my-seat, couldn’t-put-it-down read. I loved every minute of it. And as a longtime Colleen Coble reader, I especially enjoyed spotting some Easter eggs from past series!
If you love Christian romantic suspense with plenty of twists, intrigue, danger, and characters you can root for, definitely put She Will End This on your list.
Thanks to Thomas Nelson and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
She Will End This by Colleen Coble and Rick Acker had me hooked from the opening chapters. A true crime writer takes a simple DNA test and learns her real father is a notorious assassin, and from there it's family secrets, intelligence agencies and a race to save a kidnapped child. The premise is fantastic, and the first half moves like a movie.
What I loved most was the heart under the action. The relationship between a daughter and the mother who kept a painful secret was handled with real grace, and the faith elements grow naturally out of the family conflict instead of feeling preachy. The question of whether we're defined by our bloodline or our choices runs through the whole book, and the heroine answers it with her actions long before she believes it herself.
My frustrations came in the back half. With betrayal coming from every direction, I wanted the characters to be as cautious as I was. Instead, I was yelling at my phone more than once over who they chose to trust.
On audio, Jane Oppenheimer does a great job giving the characters distinct voices in dialogue. The story moves between four POVs in close third person with one narrator, so it took me a while to pick up on when the perspective changed. Once I caught on, it was much easier to follow. This is a locked-in listen, not a chores-in-the-background one.
It's a clean read with no spice, though it does have on-page violence, a child in danger, and a past assault that is implied and kept off page.
Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for the advance listening copy. All opinions are my own.
This fascinating story begins with the results of a DNA test Britt submits to learn whether she carries the gene for Huntington’s disease, the illness that recently took her father’s life. What she discovers instead shatters everything she thought she knew: her beloved dad wasn’t her biological father. Even more shocking, the test result triggers an alert to her biological father — a ruthless criminal and assassin known in the underworld as Abaddon. Britt Olsen, a successful true crime writer, suddenly finds herself thrust into the center of the most dangerous case she’s ever encountered. Now that Abaddon knows who she is, he is determined to claim her as his own and pull her into his merciless world — a world that currently includes the kidnapping of the President’s five-year-old granddaughter. When Britt unexpectedly crosses paths with FBI Special Agent Stein Nordahl, the two join forces to rescue the child. As the search intensifies, so does this gripping story filled with betrayal, long buried secrets, and threads of faith woven through the danger. The tension never lets up, making this a wild ride from the first page to the last. Having been an avid reader of all of Colleen Coble’s books, as well as every book she has co written with Rick Acker, I can confidently say this is their best collaboration yet. I received a complimentary copy of this book. All comments and opinions are my own.
Wow… this book took me on one wild ride! I’m not sure I’ve ever read a thriller where I kept thinking, *Okay, NOW I know what’s going on*—only to have the story throw another twist at me.
As a crime thriller lover, I loved that Britt is an author who uses her skills to solve cold cases as she writes her books.
As this part of the story develops, I was on the edge of my seat, almost as if I were sitting next to the evil scoundrel who was spying on Britt. I felt trapped in the car, wanting to escape and warn Britt of his presence. That’s how immersed I was in the story!
As Britt faces an uncertain future because of a genetic disease, she submits her DNA for testing. This opens a literal **Pandora’s box** of unfortunate events that take Britt on a long and tumultuous journey.
Right from the beginning, Britt is in serious danger when an autonomous car/taxi has been reprogrammed to try to kill her. From there, the action just keeps coming. There are secrets, betrayals, people who aren’t who they seem, and enough unexpected turns to keep me guessing.
What I especially loved was the feeling that I couldn’t completely trust what I was seeing or where the story was headed. Every time I thought I had something figured out, another piece of the puzzle changed. The pacing kept me turning the pages because there was always another question I needed answered.
**SPOILER ALERT:** And that ending! 😳 Finding out that Britt has an unknown half-sister—and that she is actually a mole in the FBI—was one of those *wait…WHAT?!* moments for me. I honestly did not see that coming.
This was definitely a **5-star read for me**. If you enjoy action-packed thrillers with mystery, danger, betrayals, twists, and unexpected turns that make you rethink everything you thought you knew, I highly recommend this one!
**This one kept me guessing right to the end.**
**I received a copy from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.**
When a DNA test shatters everything about the life true crime writer Britt Olsen thought she knew about her family, she is left deciphering the truth from the lies. A disturbing connection to her biological father, a disgraced Mossad assassin, and a kidnapped 5-year-old force Britt to take action.
Driven to find assassins after the death of his father, FBI agent Stein Nordahl jumps at the chance to help Britt track down the missing child, but also catch her father.
When corruption, lies, and betrayal break to the surface, can Britt and Stein uncover the truth? And, will Britt let her father’s bad blood define her?
My Thoughts:
You guys, Colleen and Rick’s writing partnership is one of the best things to happen to the romantic suspense genre!
This book was absolutely incredible and was bursting with secrets, depth, lovable characters, God’s grace, and so many twists. I can’t tell you how many times my jaw was on the floor.
I loved Britt’s character and the struggles she navigated while trying to find out what her legacy would be. She didn’t want to be defined by her father’s actions, and her journey to discovering her own identity was realistic and relatable.
Stein was the perfect balance for Britt. Their chemistry was perfect and I really enjoyed him as a character!
Now, can we just talk about the twists?! Good grief, I was GASPING! I read 200 pages in one sitting because I couldn’t put this book down. I can’t go into much detail without spoiling anything, but I needed time to recover!
She Will End This comes out November 10th, so be sure to preorder your copy!
Thank you so much to Colleen, Rick, and @thomasnelsonfiction the ARC copy! I received a complimentary copy of the book. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
Wow! Colleen Coble and Rick Acker took their next story She Will End This to new levels of nasty twistiness, and I'm here for it all! From former Mossad operatives to professional hits and treason, this plot will keep you on your toes from the first page to the last.
I love the edginess of the plot and the real evil of the villains; it's real. The authors don't water things down or slap any whitewash on the hard parts, but neither do they glorify them, and that's what makes this book great. The darkness is contrasted by good, light, and hope - sometimes quite directly - and that juxtaposition allows for the reality of the evil parts while highlighting how good wins out in the end. I love this kind of story.
I love these kinds of heroes, too, because they're all in for their side. Britt and Stein - even Willow - and are brave and make tough decisions based on what they think is right, not on their circumstances, and they are the kind of leading characters I love to read about: they may be afraid, or hurt, or traumatized, but they keep doing their best. We all need more heroes in our lives, right?
She Will End This has it all: slow-burn romance, heroic leading characters, icy villains, and even tech troubles. Don't sit on this one - be ready for release day and snag your copy now.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to listen to this ALC. I absolutely loved She Will End This and ended up listening to it in less than 24 hours because I simply couldn't stop. Britt Olsen is a true crime writer still coming to terms with the death of her father from Huntington's disease when she decides to take a DNA test. What follows is a shocking chain of events that completely turns her world upside down. Long-buried family secrets, her mother's past, and unexpected discoveries about her heritage all come crashing into the present with dangerous consequences. As if that wasn't enough, the President's granddaughter is kidnapped, and Britt finds herself caught up in the desperate race to bring her home safely. The way these storylines come together is brilliantly done, with plenty of twists, tension and surprises along the way. The narration was top-notch and added so much depth to the characters and emotions of the story. It kept me completely engaged from beginning to end and made an already gripping thriller even more immersive. This was a brilliant read that kept me guessing throughout. Fast-paced, compelling and packed with family secrets and suspense, it's one of those books that becomes impossible to put down. I can't recommend it highly enough and will definitely be looking out for more from Colleen Coble
Fair Warning. Before you begin this book, clear your schedule. Once you start, you will not want to be interrupted. I only wish I had known ahead of time. I almost had to call out of work to finish but alas, it was difficult, but I somehow exerted some self-control!
She Will End This captured my attention from the very first page! This fast paced, high-octane story had all the elements of a spectacular thriller. Co-written by Collen Coble and Rick Acker I was in awe by how seamless it was. If I hadn’t seen it for myself, I never would have believed that this was written by two people based on how effortlessly the story flowed.
Jam packed with kidnappings, betrayal, shootouts, family secrets, assassins, terrorists, CIA, FBI and other intelligence operatives, this suspenseful Christian thriller had my jaw dropping and my head spinning with all the high-stakes action. With plenty of red herrings and plot twists, this book kept me on my toes.
I had the opportunity to both read and listen to this book which I love to do as I find each to be its own unique experience. Narrator Jane Oppenheimer was absolutely exceptional as she breathed life into the characters and story. I could feel the tension and emotion at all the right points.
Thank you to Thomas Nelson Fiction and Uplit Reads for the gifted copies of the book. I am ready to go read it a third time!
What a ride! From the very beginning, She Will End This had me hooked. Who would’ve thought one simple DNA test could uncover so many secrets and turn someone’s life completely upside down?! Having taken a DNA test myself, this storyline definitely hit a little closer to home. Let’s just say I’m perfectly happy without any unexpected family drama! 😂🧬
The discoveries, kidnapping, unexpected alliances, and conflicts kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved how the suspense continued building, with one revelation after another. From start to finish, this was such an entertaining and captivating story!
I’m still fairly new to Colleen Coble’s books, but she and Rick Acker make an incredible writing team! Their storytelling flows so naturally, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
And can we talk about the narration?! Jane Oppenheimer did an outstanding job bringing this story to life! She captured the characters’ emotions and the intensity of every moment beautifully, making an already incredible story even better.
An easy five stars from me! I highly recommend this one to anyone who enjoys a suspenseful mystery filled with family secrets and unexpected twists.
A huge thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for the opportunity to listen to this advance audiobook in exchange for my honest review.
"She Will End This is by far the best book I've read this year. The author has been around for a while, but this is the first book for me. This book a ultimate read!
Synopsis - Britt is up and coming author that had several number 1 books sales. She was struggling with worry about having Huntington's Disease which was the reason for her fathers death. She had her blood sample put out there and her whole life changed for the worse till she met Stein an FBI agent. Together they were hunting for Britt's biological father, whom was a notorious killer Aboddon. During this time the granddaughter of the President of the United States was kidnapped by none other than Britt father.
My thoughts - The book was very well written with characters I fell in love with and so not so much. I loved the connection between Britt and Willow the missing child. There are several twist and turns which kept me intrigued. There are several place where the characters turn to God and his wisdom, protection and love. I hated for the story to end and wished it would continue.
I highly recommend this book and I give it a 5 stars!
I received this advance reader copy from the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are the and mine alone.
Wow! What a fantastic story! I would give this a 10 star rating if I could! These authors are great, and they have really outdone themselves with this one! Britt is grieving her beloved father's death from Huntington"s Disease, and bravely decides to take a genetics test. There she gets the shock of her life, discovering that another man is her biological father! Her mother confesses to have been attacked by a horrible man..."Aaron." When Britt starts being in dangerous situations which threaten her life, mostly likely by Aaron, Stein joins her for protection. Meanwhile, suspense increases as Willow, the president's granddaughter, is kidnapped, and found by the pair. As all three struggle to stay alive and catch the bad guys, Britt is further shocked to discover her warm, loving, faith-filled mother has a history, which emerges as a cunning, skilled operative and joins in! Several other people give aid, but they are not who they seem! This book uses a gentle faith ribbon to make a point of how faith can make an important difference in lives. I am truly impressed by this book and highly recommend it! It is with great appreciation from the publishers that I was able to read this book. The views expressed are my own.
