I loved this book. It’s a fresh breath of air in the character department. Ivy is a strong, intelligent, and independent woman who doesn’t take anyone’s criticism. I can’t wait for Scottie and Cash’s book. I already love them both.

In comes Callahan Eli Moore, the handsome and cocky Captain of the Reign’s and the vein of her existence, four years ago a car accident cost him & his teammates the playoffs & guess who has driving the other car? The odds of it being Ivy were slim to none yet as she walks into the arena one thing is certain things are about to get heated pretty fast. Working together while trying to maintain a professional relationship is going to be nearly impossible, specially once they start spending more time together and begin to realize everything they thought they knew about each other might be wrong. Their chemistry on and off the ice is undeniable, one mistake could cost them everything, as the lines between them start to blur will they follow the rules or their hearts?
So let me start by saying OMG I was hooked from the very first line! The tension between Ivy and Callahan was breathtaking! The story was fast paced and kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to know the exact moment things between them would reach a tipping point. I was also rooting for Iveline as a woman in a male dominated field and loved how no matter what she always stood her ground and didn’t make herself small to fit in with everyone else. She was such a strong FMC and even though she didn’t need him to Callahan was always so protective of her and defended her in front of anyone who doubted her. Loved watching the relationship between the two of them evolve and Iveline’s walls start to come down so she could become more vulnerable, not only with Call but with her dad, the team and her friends, there was so much character growth on her part and I was honestly proud of her.
The way Soldera wrote this book left me wanting to immediately reach for book 2 in the series, I’m already in love with all of the side characters and the found family they became and can’t wait to read all of their stories.

The way this book transformed my emotions from being completely angry to laughing and kicking my feet is insane. This book is about power, and from a females perspective in a male dominated work environment - which I absolutely loved.
FMC Ivy has hidden in the St. James family name for so long, she’s worked her ass off getting to where she is now as a coach for ice hockey. But just because she is a ‘woman’ and the daughter of a general manager everyone automatically thinks it’s just been handed to her. She’s had to stand up not only for herself but for the sport, making her cold and hard.
MMC Cal is a professional ice hockey captain and Iveline is his team’s new coach. Immediately they all have the same opinion as the majority of men in this sport - just a woman living under her father’s name, with probably no input. But, oh my.. this is where the story starts and it had me hooked.
I absolutely loved Ivy’s character, she stands up for her self and doesn’t take any shit, but you find out about the soft inner child. The relationship she has with her father is clinical and emotionless. Her best friends seem to be her only family, which just clenches my heart.
I wasn’t completely connected to our MMC, I was more connected to his best friend Cash. I would have like to have the same emotions I felt about the side character as the MMC. However it does in no way distract or interfere with the plot and the way he acts - if anything I liked him more as the story continued, but not on a deep level.
I loved the writing and for a debut?! Hello? This was incredible! From the heartfelt moments to the found family was amazing - the journey we went through with the team will live rent free in my head. I also loved the way Soldera shortened the names for the POV especially for our FMC - it’s like a connection to the character personally as she’s reclaiming herself through the book as we read.

I finished reading Uncoachable by Soldera Krauze and I LOVED it ❤️🏒🥅

🏒 Uncoachable is a contemporary sports romance featuring a professional hockey player MMC, a professional hockey coach FMC, forbidden romance, workplace tension, slow burn attraction, found family, emotional healing, witty banter, and a beautiful exploration of choosing love and real life over legacy.
🏒 Our MMC: Callahan Eli Moore ❤️
Callahan completely stole my heart.
He's confident, charming, loyal, supportive, emotionally mature, and endlessly devoted to the people he loves. Beneath the reputation of a star hockey player is a man who genuinely listens, respects boundaries, and isn't threatened by strong women.
What I loved most about Callahan was the way he loved Ivy. He never tried to compete with her, diminish her accomplishments, or make himself the center of her story. Instead, he admired her brilliance, respected her authority, and supported her dreams just as fiercely as she supported his.
Watching him slowly realize that there are things more important than hockey was one of my favorite parts of the entire book.

Ivy was such a refreshing heroine.
She's intelligent, ambitious, fiercely competent, and completely unapologetic about taking up space in a world that constantly questions whether she belongs there.

Watching her learn to trust, love, and build a life beyond her career was incredibly rewarding.

By the end, I wasn't just invested in Ivy and Callahan's romance—I was invested in everyone.
And judging by those epilogues, I am already emotionally invested in Cash and Scottie's impending disaster as well. 🤭

The slow build felt natural and believable, and every interaction between Ivy and Callahan made me want to keep reading.

Soldera's writing was engaging, funny, emotional, and incredibly easy to read. The dialogue felt natural, the humor landed consistently, and every character had a distinct personality and voice.

What I appreciated most was that the story never lost sight of its characters.

This is probably the only area where my feelings were a little mixed.
The spicy scenes were good, but they weren't particularly memorable for me. I've read stronger spice in other romances, and those scenes ended up being my least favorite part of the book.
That said, the chemistry, tension, emotional connection, and relationship development more than made up for it.
For me, this story was never about the spice.
It was about Ivy and Callahan.
And that part absolutely delivered.

I loved the ending. ❤️
Not only did Ivy and Callahan get a satisfying conclusion, but we also got to see them simply living their lives together.
Those domestic moments made everything feel real.
The epilogue perfectly captured what I loved most about this book: two people choosing each other, choosing happiness, and choosing a real life over a manufactured legacy.
"We've chosen love over the league."
That theme carried so much emotional weight throughout the story, and seeing it come full circle was incredibly satisfying.
And then Soldera gave us a second epilogue introducing Cash and Scottie...
Which was basically a formal announcement that Book 2 is about to bring absolute chaos. 🤭
The tension.
The banter.
The intimidation.
The mutual attraction.
The complete certainty that Cash is already doomed.
August cannot come soon enough.

First off, a book that gets me out of a 4 month reading slump is something that gets a big big big applause 👏🏼
Second, this debut novel by the amazing Soldera deserves a price ! I love it when indie authors show what they are good at, and show the people who say that ‘indie authors aren’t real authors’ that they are wrong!
The only thing I would’ve loved more, was more scenes while they were playing ice hockey!!! I just love sport romances so much and you learn so much from them!
Sometimes, I was so into reading it, that I read a scene and was like; wait where are we right now and who is in the room with them…
Overall; a perfect debut novel from Soldera!! I can’t wait to read the other two books that are coming this year❤️

first of all, I LOVED THIS BOOK!
just everything about this book felt right, the tension, the setting, the jokes, the friendships, everything. I really love how Soldera portraided the way women are treated in work places (or anywhere reallly). I think this message is very importent and I think Soldera did an perfect way of showing this and bringing attention to it.

A really good time
Uncoachable was my first ever sports romance, and I had a really good time with it.
First of all, I think it’s worth mentioning that Soldera Krauze is only 19 and English isn’t her first language. If I hadn’t known that going in, I honestly wouldn’t have guessed. Nothing stood out to me in terms of the writing, and I was really impressed by how mature the story and its themes felt.
I absolutely loved Ivy. She felt different from a lot of female main characters I’ve read. She’s incredibly strong, knows exactly who she is, stands by her morals, and isn’t afraid to stick to them, especially in a world that isn’t always welcoming to women. At the same time, she isn’t perfect. She can be cold and shut herself off emotionally, which made her feel like a real person rather than an idealised heroine. Cal was a great match for her, and I loved watching their relationship develop. The slow burn was done really well, and I appreciated that the romance wasn’t driven by a miscommunication trope for once. Their chemistry felt genuine, and you could really see why they worked together.
My standout character was definitely Cash. I have a feeling he’ll be a favourite for a lot of readers. I also really liked Scotty, and I’m excited to see where her character goes if this becomes the series it’s planned to be.
My only real criticism is that there was a little too much hockey for my personal taste. Some of the play by play game scenes felt longer than they needed to be. That said, if you’re a hockey fan, I can imagine those will be some of your favourite parts.
Is this the best book I’ve ever read? No. But was it an enjoyable read with likeable characters, a romance I wanted to keep reading, and a story that kept me invested? Absolutely. I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a slow burn sports romance.

soldero you smashed this out of the park. How are you 19 and write like that. I really enjoyed the writing style, it was so descriptive and easy to read.

I enjoy a sports romance but I do find them lacking at times as the sport in question is jus a backstory and the romance is at front centre, but this really focused on all things hockey with I loved. We have locker room talk, training on the ice, matches. I enjoyed the team moments.
You will love our FMC and MMC iveline and Callahan. Iveline is strong, sharp and focused on her goals, she can hold her own. I enjoyed how she took control of her hockey team, learnt who they were as indviduals as well as a whole and helped them be better and earn there respect and loyalty.
Callahan is the captain and he is instantly smitten. He is charming and protective .
The two together had chemistry of the charts, it was a slow burn, I was eager and inpatient for it to speed up but when it did it built up to a strong connection.
Overall this book has a lot going for it and I enjoyed the story .
Excited for this to be first in a series and we will get more from the rest of the players. Excited to read cash and Scottie’s story.

You’ve got a badass FMC who a female hockey assistant coach and she’s fighting the never changing battle of “women in sports”. You then have the grumpy coach who is a “distraction”.
This is honestly one of the best women in sports ice hockey books I’ve read!!

This was my first ever sports romance and I really enjoyed it. For a debut novel, I was really impressed with Soldera's writing style and the themes she used within this book. She did an incredible job of highlighting misogyny in sports and it was interesting to learn more about hockey!

This book had me hooked from the start! The tension?The yearning? Absolutely perfect.
Iveline is such a badass FMC. She knows what she wants and doesn’t let anyone stop her from getting it.
I genuinely found myself getting so invested in all of the characters, I wanted to join the team and be friends with every single one of them. I read this in a buddy read where we only read one chapter a day, this was so hard to stick to because I wanted to eat it up!

I absolutely loved this book.
What stood out most for me was the FMC. In a world where hockey is still very much male-dominated, she constantly faces misogyny, doubt, and people questioning whether she belongs. But she never backs down, never shrinks herself, and never apologises for who she is. She's strong, determined, and fiercely capable, making her such an easy character to root for.
And then there's the MMC... honestly, he was everything. He respects her ambition, gives her the space she needs to fight her own battles, but knows exactly when to step in and take control. The balance between them was perfect. Their relationship never felt forced—it grew naturally through trust, respect, chemistry, and undeniable attraction.
And that kiss...
After all the tension, frustration, longing, and moments where you could feel them fighting what was between them, the moment they finally kissed was absolutely worth the wait. It wasn't sweet or tentative—it felt explosive. Like months of restraint finally snapping. The anticipation leading up to it made the payoff even better, and I was grinning from ear to ear when it finally happened.
The supporting cast deserves a mention too. Every character felt distinct and brought something different to the story. They weren't just there to fill space—they had personalities that made me laugh, added depth to the world, and left me wanting more of their stories as well.
This book gave me strong characters, fantastic chemistry, plenty of tension, humour, and a romance that felt earned. I was completely invested from start to finish and didn't want it to end.

This was my first time reading a romance novel fully grounded in the real world, and it took me a moment to adjust to how internally driven it is. The story is not propelled by external plot in the way I am used to. Instead, it lives in the tension between perception and identity, in the quiet unraveling of a woman who has spent years building herself into something untouchable. Once I allowed the book to exist on those terms, I found it incredibly compelling.
Iveline is such a strong and believable protagonist. Her need for control, her composure, and her emotional restraint are not just personality traits. They are survival mechanisms. As a woman in a male-dominated field, and as the daughter of someone who already holds power within that space, she has learned that she has to be sharper, colder, and more controlled than everyone around her just to be taken seriously. That conditioning is written with a lot of nuance, and it made her feel deeply real to me. Watching her slowly confront the idea that strength does not have to mean isolation, and that she does not have to be untouchable to be respected or safe, was the emotional core of the book and the part that stayed with me long after I finished.

I’m still in awe of how well-written this book was, especially considering it’s a debut novel. Everything about it worked for me, the storyline was a solid 10/10, the characters were unforgettable, and I loved every emotion this book made me feel.
The story follows Iveline (Ivy/Coach Talvi), who is appointed assistant coach of a hockey team managed by her father. As a woman in a male-dominated field, Ivy constantly has to prove that she deserves her position not only to the players and the public, but also to her father. One of my favorite things about her character was her confidence. She knew her worth, stood her ground, and never doubted her abilities. But beneath all that strength, she needed someone to remind her that she deserved to be loved and cared for too and that’s where Callahan (Cal) comes in.
The tension between Ivy and Cal was incredible. With Cal being the team captain, they were completely off-limits to each other, which only made their chemistry even better. What I loved most was that Cal wasn’t Ivy’s knight in shining armor because she never needed saving. Instead, he was the person who showed her that she mattered and deserved the same care and support she so freely gave to everyone else. Their relationship developed at the perfect pace, and I loved watching it unfold.
The side characters were another highlight for me. They were all so lovable, and seeing them become a family that looked out for one another, especially for their coach made my heart so happy. The found family trope is one of my favorites, and this book delivered it beautifully.
I also have to give credit to the author for the hockey aspect of the story. As someone who knows very little about the sport, I actually felt like I learned a thing or two while reading. The games were written in a way that was engaging, easy to follow, and added so much to the overall story.
There were so many incredible quotes throughout this book that choosing a favorite was nearly impossible, but this one stayed with me:

- The writing was... for a lack of a better word: boring & cringe. 90% of the book consists of scenes like this:
"I didn’t expect that from her. I didn’t expect a lot of things. I didn’t expect the way she laughed when her friends showed up, or the way her voice softened when she told Nico to breathe before his shift. I certainly didn’t expect the way she looked at me in the bar that night—like she couldn’t decide whether to push me away or pull me closer."
Just very bland and matter of fact and trying to sound important - which can work but loses its effect after the third time in a row.
It was kind of "tell, not show" - good writing is supposed to be the opposite.
- There was not a lot actually happening, instead, people were constantly observing each other and thinking about each other. So the relationship felt very underdeveloped

Just very bland and matter of fact and trying to sound important - which can work but loses its effect after the third time in a row.
It was kind of "tell, not show" - good writing is supposed to be the opposite.
- There was not a lot actually happening, instead, people were constantly observing each other and thinking about each other. So the relationship felt very underdeveloped

This was a very heartfelt sports romance with very relatable characters and also issues women face in today’s world.
I loved the focus on men powering over women in too many different ways, and Ivy breaking free from that hold. I connected with the side characters more than the main ones in this story, I absolutely loved Cash and I cannot wait to read the next book about him. Also loved Noah and his friendship with Ivy.
Special mention to the fact the English is not Soldera’s first language and she absolutely smashed writing her debut novel out of the park!! Love you girly🖤🖤

This was such an impressive debut! More than just a sports romance, it’s about proving yourself in a male dominated world, and I loved watching Iveline earn the respect she deserved.
The hockey was a huge part of the story, which I really appreciated. The training, matches, locker room moments, and team dynamics all felt authentic. The slow burn romance was impeccable, and I’m a sucker for the “he takes care of her when she’s sick” trope. It gets me every time!
Soldera’s writing is engaging, emotional, and incredibly easy to read. It’s hard to believe they’re only 19! Overall, this was an addictive read with strong character growth, found family, and a romance that kept me hooked. I can’t wait for the next books in the series!

What stood out to me in particular was the accurate and detailed hockey analysis.
The fmc in the book was written well and believable, as an assistant coach and how much it is to take on, her mental health struggles, ie burnout, her relationship with her dad and the hockey world in general. I really enjoyed this and will continue on into the next book in this series. It was a breath of fresh air in regard to sports romance, it felt unique in its specificities of the main characters- they were well fleshed out.

I loved so many things about Uncoachable! The fmc is everything! I connected with her instantly. She faces a lot of doubt and misogyny being a woman coach with an NHL hockey team. But she was bold, witty, unapologetic and held her ground. I loved seeing her growth from her name owing her to her owning her name.
The MMC was charming and protective. Loved how he respected her on and off the ice but took control when he needed too. *Wink wink
Slow burn but the sexual tension was hot and their chemistry was off the charts!
The other characters had their loveable quirks and personalities and I could picture this big hockey family really loving and caring about each other.
When I was getting towards the end of the book I started to tear up because I didn’t want it to end! I genuinely knew I would miss these characters!
The author really did her research with this book and the writing and storyline were top notch. I’m not sure how I’m going to read another sports romance after this because I don’t know how it could get any better than Uncoachable! I need book 2 now!!

If I could add one song to the playlist in the beginning of the book, I would add 'It's a man's man's world' by James brown, because yes it is a man's world, but it would be nothing, NOTHING without a woman or a girl and I think it describes this story perfectly. That song kept replaying in my head non-stop while reading Uncoachable.
Soldera wrote Ivy so beautifully, such a strong, powerful woman, surviving in a man's work field. Keep your head up high and stay confident. Yet for the right person she becomes a soft and gentle version of herself. Cal is that person for her and he has honestly touched my heart, their story has. He will crawl for her to the ends of the earth, and I believe we all need a man like this.
I think many of us will and can relate to Iveline Talvi St. James on multiple occasions, I know I did and it made me tear up. This is Soldera's debut novel and she has done such a wonderful job in bringing her characters alive, full of passion and bittersweet moments.

A five-star read that delivered everything I wanted from a sports romance. The characters had incredible chemistry, the storyline kept me interested, and the emotional moments felt genuine. I loved the way Iveline refused to be treated like she didn’t belong and how Callahan had to confront his own assumptions about her. Their journey from enemies to something much deeper was beautifully written. If you enjoy strong female characters, stubborn heroes, workplace tension, and a romance full of sparks, this book is definitely worth reading. I’m already looking forward to more from this author.
