Note this before you read my review: I don't revel in giving books a lot of unpleasant comments since I know that it's really hard to create a published book. I am still a fan of all authors, even authors whose books I didn't exactly like, because, without them, I won't know what to do with my life. Possibly only this:

And this:

So authors, I salute you. Very much. And I don't really like writing bad reviews, okaaaaay?

So, on with the review.

THE PROBLEMS WITH THIS BOOK

1.) The 'marriage' thing
So, the main character (Harley) is going to be married to Carter. Everything is hunky-dory, except for one thing: Harley doesn't love Carter. Later in the book, she tells us that the reason she was marrying Carter was because her parents were forcing her. I am disappointed at this for reasons, namely:
* HEH ANO BA NAMAN TO 2015 NA ARRANGED MARRIAGE PA RIN ITU WTF (Translation: What the actual fudge? It's 2015, guys. No one forces their children to people they don't like to marry. What is this, the Victorian era? But let me clarify this: If the reason behind the arranged marriage was for business purposes, I would have been less disappointed. But the only reason behind this was because the parents were best friends with Carter's parents!
* I am very disappointed of Harley because she isn't one of those women who will fight to the death for what they believe. So, she's just going to let this happen? She isn't even going to do anything about it?

Wow. If I was Harley, I'd think of something. I would give up anything (heck yeah, I can start another career) rather than growing old with someone I despise. I won't wait for a time when I'll finally be in love with the guy. Do, or do not. There is no try.
* This isn't actually a reason but.. FACT: Harley and Carter were neighbours. Frickin' neighbours. Parents were best friends. Yet she only met him, like, twenty-something years later?

2.) The extremely predictable ending

If you read the synopsis, you could guess. My eight year old brother could predict this.
OF COURSE SHE ENDS UP WITH CONNOR. OF COURSE. THIS IS AS OBVIOUS AS HERMIONE GETTING AN OUTSTANDING AT HER O.W.L.S.

3.) The romance
As much as I actually hinted a smile during reading, the romance was just kind of... forced. It's as if the author was yelling, "NOW KISS!" at the top of her lungs whilst writing this book. Aaaaand, insta-love! Heck.. no.
"Why did he have such an effect on her? Heck, she had only met him this morning.
LOL OKAI FASTEST LOVE AWARD GOES TO HARLEY AND CONNOR!!!!
No surprises at all. No plot twists. As already said above, extremely predictable.

4.) The writing
Usually I don't really mind the writing, only the emotional impact of the book. But the author used a lot of exclamation points to the point that I actually started being uncomfortable while reading this book. And I don't really want to say this, but it actually felt like it was written by my 7th grade classmate (who is, by the way, ten years old). And I didn't actually learn a thing in this book. I've read two hundred books in the whole thirteen years of my existence (not only two hundred, maybe three hundred, I'm actually just really embarrassed to put here on GR the books I read when I was four) and I learned many things from a huge percentage of these books. But I didn't learn anything here. Well, except this: You can fall in love within five hours of meeting a person.

5.) THE CHARACTERS.
*Carter: You are very clueless, sorry, Do you not realize that your fiancée and your brother are actually busy being in love with each other and.. they're just right in front of you?
No? No?

Obviously a no then.
And he's kinda... harsh. Even if my brother and I don't really get along very well, I won't act like that. Because he's still my bro and nothing can change that. But you, you actually let your brother almost starve?

And it was all because of some irrational argument? I can't believe you.
But.. at least they made up at the end of the book.
*Lillian
I don't understand you. You mean to tell me, that you broke up with Liam just because he didn't arrive for a dinner? And you didn't even ask him why? What if his father died? Or he actually got hurt? Or what if his friend needed his help? Before you judge, before you act harshly upon something or someone, think about it first.
*Harley
Again, for just being like a pet. A pet that does anything its master commands it to do. Don't you have a brain of your own?

6.) Meaningless, childish dialogue
Don't make me even start about this.

7.) Eerily similar plot to We'll Always Have Summer (The Summer I Turned Pretty #3) by Jenny Han
Okay. Harley is basically Belly, Connor basically Jeremiah, Carter basically Conrad. Only difference is that the Jeremiah of this book was the one for the Belly of this book. At least Jenny Han's book was...!!! I won't compare.

FINAL VERDICT: Definitely a no for me. If you're looking for a cheesy, light read, read this. I don't know if you'll like it though. But still, I am clarifying, I am not a HATER of any author. Only speaking my mind.

Chasing Connor,
A romantic tale with lots of humour in it. I loved the main couple Connor and Harley especially the way they met for the first time. Both have no idea what they were getting into. Normally I don't believe into love at first sight but in this book the writer has shown the concept beautifully and even I have to accept that love at first sight happens sometime. All the characters in the book are hilariously sweet and justify their roles. The situations in the book were so funny sometimes that it was hard to stop myself from laughing out loud especially at night.
The lead, Connor is charming and sometime cocky, which of course add to his appeal. And Harley, what can I say about her, she's sweet, gorgeous and a bit emotional fool in my opinion (you will know when you read the book, which is free by the way)

I like the thing that there is no evil villain in the book that try to break the couple in love, yet there is someone who do break the which you will know when you read the book ;)
I feel pity for Carter but he's going to be okay I believe.
The only character I didn't like sometimes, even though she's hilarious, was Mrs. Taylor. A sweet considerate mother whom everyone loves but who became partial sometimes and that is something I don't like about her but I can't really fault her.
The book got romance, humour and thriller in it, all the aspects I love in a book. So in my opinion the book is great and something a romance lover should not miss. I love the fact that the book is for all age groups, you don't have to be above 18 to read it. Its quite hard to find a good romance book these days that doesn't contain adult stuff or bad language. SO MY SUGGESTIONS GO GRAB IT. YOU WILL LOVE IT :)

A Cute Romantic Read

Chasing Connor is a book filled with humor. Our main character is Connor who runs away from his house and comes back only to attend his brother's, Carter's wedding. However, he falls in love with Harley, who happens to be his future sister-in-law. Harley comes across us as a very calm and obedient character. The only reason she agrees to marry Carter is because her parents told her to do so. She is afraid to go against their wishes. When Harley meets Connor, she cannot brush off the feeling that she likes him too. Since there is a rift between two brothers, Connor promises "a lifetime in fifteen days" to Harley. But she needs more than just that fifteen days.

Connor is sweet, childish and even cocky at times. But this is what makes you fall in love with the character. He is presented to us as always being happy and playing around (in a good sense). He has a dog named Padfoot (By the way, I am #TeamPadfoot) and treats him like he is his own child.

The thing which makes this book more enjoyable is the fact that there is no evil. We have a supporting character, Mrs. Taylor (Connor's mother), who supports Connor even though she knows the truth about his feelings towards Harley. She encourages him to make Harley fall in love with her.

Sam says, "Love is a friendship that has caught fire." She is right. x

Overall, the book is really good and an easy read. There were few errors here and there, but I believe that can be corrected by proofreading. Somewhere it lacks a bit of depth and there were places where I felt that the story was going too fast. But if you put this aside and focus on the rest, I believe that it is a very promising book which holds the potential to grow. :)

Chasing Connor is an endearing tale of two people who fall in love as they are meant to all along. Their instant connection comes off the pages with ease from the very first time they meet. Connor Taylor is adorably perfect – a character you feel for, cheer on, and connect with throughout the story. Towards the end, you can’t help but fall in love with him yourself. Harley Evans is his perfect foil – sweet and innocent. She gets him, and he gets her and their chemistry and shared laughter is enough to make us sigh and wish they would get together already. But alas, if only love was that simple!

Carter Taylor is the big brother engaged to Harley Evans. There is no love lost between the brothers, and with Connor’s entry into Harley’s life, she is caught between love and duty. I love the way the brothers estrangement and the transformation in their relationship is seamlessly woven into the love story to give the plot its substance.
And I cannot help but mention Connor’s little puppy, ‘Padfoot’ amidst the story that already boasts of an enriching team of supporting characters.

‘Chasing Connor’ is as love should be – all heart and super fun while you are at it. It has all the ingredients to make you fall in love with Connor and Harley along with the story in its entirety.

Chasing Connor is a story filled with humor and romance. Two of my favorite things! It is a light hearted read which can be read by everyone. I love all the characters, even you know who. Never have I read a story where I've loved all the characters. The way the plot develops is really great.

Connor is sweet, cute, crazy and is the epitome of hilarity. He's like this puppy you cannot help but love.

Harley is smart and refreshing though I haven't always liked her choices.

Connor made me fall in love with him (now I feel I'm cheating on Alex) The story as whole is fresh and highly captivating. I adore this book.

To summarize it, Sam Ayers has outdone herself with this book!

Brief review: Amazing Summer Read.
To actually say: It is a great package of Romance and Humour. Where Connor is a cheery character, Harley adds a sparkle to their fun. As the author has stated, their love is a friendship that has caught fire. I couldn't agree more. The growth is terrific.
This author has a promising line of books and future.
Great read!

„Fall in love with me fast, Harls!“ - Connor

Chasing Connor has it all, friendship, love, heartbreak, humor. It’s a great book.

Chasing Connor is the story about Harley and Connor. Harley is engaged to Connor’s brother and when she meets Connor they instantly build a strong friendship. But soon both want more and Connor has only fifteen days to get Harley to fall in love with him. But Harley isn’t ready to just fall for him that easily, after all she’s engaged to his big brother.

It was easy to relate how Harley felt in her difficult situation – being in love with Connor while being engaged to his brother, wanting Connor and not being able to be with him. It is a great love story and shows that friendship is the best foundation for a relationship.

Reading how Connor and Harley met, until the moment they knew how they felt about each other made my heart beat faster. Their story is sweet, innocent and sexy and I couldn’t stop myself from reading until I was finished. They make you believe that true love can overcome anything.

„You promised me a lifetime in fifteen days,“ Harley whispered.
Connor looked down and raised his eyebrow. “What was that?”
“I want more than fifteen days, Connor,” Harley said, standing up. “I want a lifetime.”

Chasing Connor is a story about family and the choices we make. Harley is engaged to marry Carter, but really starts to doubt her decision when she meets his younger brother Connor. Connor left home five years ago, after a falling out with Carter, in which their dad sided with Carter. Harley is asked to pick Connor up at the airport. She is expecting a teen and is really surprised to see the gorgeous guy that actually is Connor. They hit it off and this really doesn't sit well with Carter at all. What is going to happen? Why not grab this book and find out the answers? If you are looking for a fast, refreshing read, I highly recommend this book to anyone. This is a book you can let your daughter read without worrying about sex, sex, sex that you see in so many books today. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against those books, but I don't want my daughter reading them just yet. Sam has done a fantastic job with a subject you don't read much about, but could easily happen in our everyday lives. If you haven't read anything by Sam, give this book a try. I was gifted a copy of this in exchange for a honest review.

Hm, I read the description and I was so ready to diss this. I mean, come on, the choosing between brothers cliche? Seriously. But I'm going to give this a try because the reviews are pretty positive and giving five stars.

Good plot but just an okay writing style. Could have been lot better if it was written in a more sophisticated manner.

I got like 10% in and had to stop. It felt like a first draft on Wattpad there were typos everywhere and the story and plot was super obvious and just so cliche.

My main issues were how forced and unnatural the dialogue was, the characters weren't believable, and basis of the story makes no sense... Because it's barely a love triangle she's only marrying the brother because her parents have forced her too (also apparently there was like 0 dating before the proposal as well WTF)...

I'm sorry to the author for how harsh this is, getting published is hard but I feel like this could have done with a few extra edits. Because there was a lot of potential for this story.

I like this book, it was a good in between book. What I mean by that is sometime when I am waiting for a book by a favorite author to come out, I read a shorter book by an author I never read. I liked the character of Connor, he has good book boyfriend potential and he loves dogs.
