A warrior sworn to kill or die trying…
A woman going through a deadly transformation…
Can they reach safety together?
Or have both of them been Targeted for death?

Emily Brooks is just an unremarkable girl living a boring existence--she teaches kindergarten, has a small house on the north end of Tampa, and tries not to envy her sister's perfect life. But Emily holds a remarkable secret within--one that won't stay hidden much longer. She is about to become something and someone completely different--that is, if she lives long enough to undergo the transformation.

Tragar is a Beast Kindred with tragedy in his past. Pain and loss have driven him from the Kindred way of life and into a new career--that of a deadly Verrak assassin. The Verrak take an oath to kill every target they contract for or die trying. Now Emily is in his crosshairs but the moment he gets close enough to her, his sharp Kindred senses tell him something is different about this particular target. Emily is a Khalla--a rare female who some say embody the essence of the Goddess herself. She is a treasure beyond compare. Tragar is well aware that his own choices have left him unfit to serve her but at least he can protect her until he can find someone worthy on his home planet of Rageron.

But there are dark forces in their way. Tragar's oath to kill can not be broken lightly. And there is a shadowy figure rising from the darkness who wishes to claim Emily's life. Can the fallen warrior guide and protect Emily to the place she truly belongs? Or will he die trying? You'll have to read Targeted to find out.

She is thirty-something and lives in Florida with a husband, a son, and two cats. She had been writing erotic fiction for her own gratification for a number of years before it occurred to her to try and get paid for it. To her delight, she found that it was actually possible to get money for having a dirty mind and she has been writing paranormal and Sci-fi erotica steadily ever since.

Main characters: Tragar & Emily
Type of Kindred bonding: Beast Kindred & Khalla

Emily is your usual next-door girl. She is a shy kindergarten teacher, with low self-esteem who has just found out she is adopted. Tragic things has happened to her. When she was younger she was raped and after that she never wished to be with another man.
Tragar is a beast Kindred and a self loath paid assassin. He has his own tragic past to deal with, but he also has a contract to fulfill which involves killing Emily.
When these two meet, Tragar realises that Emily is a truly a goddess on earth, a female Kindred, a Khalla with a hidden second self waiting patiently to come out. Since he was a young boy, he learned that Khalla women are sacred and they have to be cherished and loved.
Tragar and Emily's story is well developed and it includes many elements that we have met in previous Kindred series' books:
-Exchange of a lot of body fluids
-The well deserved punishment of the rapist
-A pristess who is a real bitch
-A long super cool adventure which involves visits in several planets with strange customs and strange foods
-A sweet happy ending

Very little new here, including the typos (really? you STILL don't think you need a real editor?) There is another line of Kindred, the Wulven. I guess that's to capitalize on the werewolf fans who aren't titillated by the Blood Kindred. *yawn*

Most notably, though, instead of a new problematic penis, the poor woman is the freak, and her problem couldn't be less sexy. Apparently, the living manifestation of the Goddess is doomed to wander the world dripping "honey" from her vagina and giant breasts. Is it not enough to be the mother of a new race of Kindred? Just sounds messy and inconvenient.

Add in a power-mad priestess (I told you this was formulaic...) and another boring villain who won't go away, the same sex scenes we've seen for 15 books now, and the same complementary tortured pasts and hangups miraculously washed away when the happy couple finally comes together against insurmountable odds, and you already know what to expect. You can't even ruin these reviews with a spoiler because there aren't any. It's just a loop and only the names change.

why am I still reading these?

*spoilers*

plot for all 15 books:
man vs girl
weird 3rd party sexploit of unrelated characters from last book
girl suffers secret rape
boy must service girl to save her life therefor no guilt from girl
3rd party sexploit for next book characters
exert from narcissist bad guy scourge, darkness, dark kindred
more service
abrupt and disassociate ending.

I almost feel bad for reviewing this because I'm think this is a way to overcome feelings from sexual violence. There is a lot of guilt, every woman gets raped, every guy is very manly and emasculated. why are there so many unexplained types but only 3 major kindred. Lots of religious purging: somebody is mad at diety, diety is perfect and forgiving, boom redemption and major problem solving.

I do not know why I continue... I feel guilty for that.

I LOVE this series! I love the Kindred, I would like to be whisked away to another world or spaceship to bond with a gorgeous, huge (in all aspects.. giggles) male who makes me his top priority. They crave giving oral sex to their chosen female and could pleasure her for hours on end. Where can I sign up?

Ok yes no need to break out the restraints (just yet) I know it's just fiction.

But I love this complex world that is the Kindred. Every time I read another book I keep waiting for it to get stale but to my utter delight it doesn't. The world keeps building and getting more and more complex. Frankly I don't know how Evangeline does it. She is so freaking fantastic!

Targeted did not disappoint me in the slightest. We actually got something completely new this time with Emily being a Khalla. A Sacred Female Beast Kindred. This is the first book we have seen or heard of them. But that's ok. Like I said the story was masterfully written with so much emotion. LOVED IT!!!

I can not wait to see what is next in Forgotten....Sara

Another fabulous instalment featuring the Kindred and it brings the storyline bang up to date. Previously we learned in Enslaved that a young woman would be born who would become the mother of a new type of Kindred. This race part Havoc and part Kindred could lead the Kindred towards much greater things but there is an evil presence who will stop at nothing to prevent this from happening .
Tragar is an assasin working for the Verrak and his latest assignment takes him to the primitive planet Earth where he hunts down Emily. Not one to simply shoot and leave he takes the time to really understand his victim . When he gets close to her however he gets a huge surprise as Emily is the rarest of things , she is a Khalla! A Khalla is special and Tragar has been brought up to revere them and will not complete his hit. No Tragar will take Emily to safety but it's a journey thrawt with danger as Emily is changing and her inner Goddess is trying to claw her way out!
I'd almost forgotten about the vision that showed a rather unique female who was under a death sentence so it was lovely to catch up with Thrace who originally started the hunt to save the mysterious female . I loved that those loose ends were picked up here and expanded upon. What's even better is we meet a couple in this book who are about to star in the next story and boy does that sound like it's going to be a doozy . Sorry I digress but I'm so fired up from reading this book and now I am anxiously waiting to read more. That's what is so fabulous about this authors work, she has the ability to pull the reader into her amazing worlds and it's a joy to just escape there and wallow for awhile.
I am reluctant to say too much about the storyline lest I ruin the fun for other readers but will say that Emily is no little miss to simply give in and let her life changing event take her over. For this reader there was a little too much touching too soon as I prefer a romance to develop but those who enjoy the more erotic type of romances will find numerous hot scenes to tickle their fancy. Also I should point out that there are certain elements here involving spanking that some readers might object to .This couple have to face many challenges and it was simply fabulous to catch up with much loved characters from previous books but the end has left me desperate for more! Ms Anderson you are a truly wicked woman but I forgive you because at least I know there's more delicious Kindred coming my way. Now all I have to do is find one of my own!
Four and a half from me
I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review

Targeted is book #15 in Evangeline Anderson's amazing series "Brides of the Kindred". One of my favorite authors and this is definitely one of my top favorite series. When I sit down to start any of the books in this series I'm already thrilled and excited knowing I'm about to be transported into this fantastical world, I am never disappointed. It's time to indulge in another installment of this yummy exciting hot sexy thrilling scify romance series, so happy.
The story starts out with Emily, a kindergarten teacher having a really bad day. She's recently found out she's adopted and is having all kinds of weird physical issues. Strange hot flashes, her eyes seem to be turning colors, there's someone else looking back at her when she looks in the mirror. On top of that she finds out the man who traumatized her years ago is now working at her school. At the beginning of the story Emily is a bit meek, happy with her simple life. By the end of the book she has undergone major changes, she is a force to be reckoned with. I liked Emily more and more as her story developed, she goes thru one heck of a journey, a major metamorphosis, embraces love, and comes out strong.
Trager is a Beast Kindred, the same kind as in the first book Claimed. Having suffered an unimaginable loss, needing to somehow deaden his pain,he joins the Verrak, special assassins with unbreakable oaths to follow thru on their deadly missions.
Not being totally heartless Trager follows his victims before killing them, confirming that they are truly evil. His latest assignment happens to be a blond human woman, Emily. After following her for ten days and seeing she not only a good person caring for young children, her scent reveals she is also a Khalla, one that is said to be part of the Goddess herself. She is precious, sacred, his mission now must be to protect Emily and see her to safety. After explaining to Emily that she is in danger and that she is experiencing so many strange physical symptoms because she is in transition they leave for his planet.
From here the action packed journey takes off. The well developed plot and subplots take hold of your imagination and take you thru deep space along with the characters. The storyline (which was introduced in the last book) is well developed with several layers, a roller coaster ride filled with lots of twists and turns, unexpected journeys and realizations.

Of course there is attraction between Trager and Emily, forbidden exchanges, the characters slowly fall In love and thru that bond find redemption, forgiveness and strength (there are some deeper lessons here). The sex is really hot, this is Evangeline Anderson and no one writes romantic scify erotic romance better and in many cases with quite the imagination. I find these 5 OMG's rated scenes an awesome perk within fabulous books.

The main characters as well as many of the secondary are all well developed, you really get to know them and their backgrounds. I love how many characters from previous books have important roles in this book, and their stories all weave together. We also get to know the main characters for Book 16 very well and are treated to the beginning of Forgotten.

Loved this book and highly recommend going along for the fantastical journey of the Kindred Brides, reading the series in order highly recommended as well. There is so much creative imaginable aspects to this story as well as excitement, adventure, danger and dark forces, hope, love, romance, have ice on hand sex, it is an awesome addition to a phenomenal series.

I felt like not much happened for 537 pages, yet there was something going on in each chapter--it wasn't filler at all--so color me confused.

For all the focus on Emily being a Khalla (a special kind of female Beast Kindred), this book should have been called "Khalla", rather than "Targeted".

It definitely wasn't my favorite of the series, but I don't regret reading it. I never felt the development of a romance, just the development of erotica. The author wants us to believe that time and close proximity and some sexual acts were why they fell in love, but I really have no idea why Tragar likes Emily. Evangeline Anderson never claimed to write romance though (see her author bio), but for erotica to be marketable, the story is usually a romance novel. A reviewer wrote that Tragar is one of the most unmemorable Kindred, and now that I read that, I cannot unthink that & agree! (His name doesn't help either lol) I do get how it can be hard to distinguish the leads in each book since the same person will probably always write similar dialogue and interactions.

Saying all that, I am looking forward to reading "Forgotten". I think what I like most about the Kindred series is not the sex or romance but the worldbuilding.

I never noticed it before I started writing my own story and becoming more self-conscious of grammar: Evangeline Anderson doesn't ever seem to use commas to connect independent clauses, especially for "but", which is more well-known than doing it for "and". The name of one of the priestesses, Lit'aal, was continuously misspelled. Part of me thinks Evangeline doesn't read through her books and self-edit them because she's too busy churning out books and writing the next one.

Also, it would be nice for the heroine to not be plus-size but also not from Tampa!! I get that the author is from Tampa, but the brides called by the Kindred obviously aren't all from Florida!

Anyway, I really, really hope that Y gets his own book & a redemption arc!!

After putting this series down for several books, I decided to read the last two that have been published, Targeted and Forgotten. As expected it really is same ol' same ol'. Emily is a teacher and a rape survivor, and so has a repressed sexual response. And Tragar is a Beast Kindred that lost his family in a tragic event that has caused him to become emotionally unavailable and turned him toward the Dark Side if you will (sorry, just saw Star Wars) and he has become an assassin. Sent to murder Emily for the newest big bad, Tragar instead realizes that she is a Khalla, a revered and rare type of female Kindred on Rageron that travels the land "leaking" her breast "honey" everywhere she goes. Like that's not gross or inconvenient. He decides to protect her and take her to Rageron.

I found the story to be boring, which was disappointing because it sounded more intriguing than some of the past Kindred stories (admittedly, I have not read Divided, Devoured, Enhanced, or Enslaved but I did read reviews and have a general idea of what happened in each of the ones I missed). I did a lot of skimming. There was also yet again, another evil priestess of the goddess to contend with. Funny how so many priestesses of this wonderful and loving goddess, are conniving evil bitches that want to fuck shit up. Something is amiss with the story in that regard. Emily was yet another damaged woman who needed to be guided through her sexual experiences by Tragar, who is probably one of the most unmemorable Kindred men I've read about. I found his personality to be bland and pretty much everything about him to be pretty unremarkable, even with his tortured past. The sex is meh, and takes most of the book for it to even happen. Sure we get a lot of foreplay (read: breastplay) but that isn't quite the same nor is it as satisfying.

All in all, it seems not much has changed, in spite of me missing a few books.

I'm torn by Ms. Anderson. I enjoy her but this series in particular is almost comically formulaic. Without revealing too much, the heroine was a sexual assault victim being protected by a self-loathing Kindred who believes they can't be together because past events deemed him not good enough. Another ABUNDANCE of bodily fluids with a desire to consume them, and the villain holds a position of power within their goddess worshiping, religious order. Sound familiar yet?

One slightly new(off-putting) take is that in addition to the typical "fountain-esque" nether-regions the female inevitably has is that her breasts are also little floodgates. (Kudos for the slight variation in formula I guess...)

This is an author that puts out way more books per year than most, and perhaps the trade off for not making us wait years for follow ups is repetition. If you enjoy the familiar I suspect you will enjoy this installation as well. I'm not too hypercritical of the similarities because I suspect she's giving her fan base exactly what they want. I can't in good conscience give this a 5 star rating because despite a few minor word changes I've read this before, however, it's fairly well written repetition that stays true and faithful to it's predecessors.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. I have read all of the books in the series and loved them all. Emily and Tragar story is wonderful, I loved Tragar, he is strong and tiring to just survive from losing everything he loved in his world. It took longer for me to empathize with Emily, she causes most of the issues she faces because she is scared of everything. She starts out without a backbone and drove me and Tragar crazy thru half the story. Emily finely grows up and figures out she is her worse enemy, she finally got me to like her at that point, it was a close call. LOL. The story is never dull and I tried to complete it in one setting. I knew not every book is everyone's cup of tea, this is still a must read if you are a kindred fan. Happy reading.

This is book 15 in the Brides of Kindred series. This book is about Tragar and Emily.

Emily is a kindergarten teacher and has recently learned that she was adopted. At the beginning of the book Emily is in the bathroom and her eyes and hair are changing. She has felt this way before, like there is something else inside her, but it was years ago when something bad had happened to her. When she is called to the principal's office, she is face to face with her past.

Tragar is a Beast Kindred that has had horrible things happen in his past that have made him turn his back on the Goddess. He now has a new job as a Verrak assassin. The Verrak are even more dangerous because they take an oath to kill every target they contract for or die trying. Tragar accepted the contract to kill Emily but there is something about her that he just couldn't do it. He watched her for 10 days and couldn't do it. When Emily is attacked and Tragar actually comes to her rescue, he notices there is something very special about Emily. Emily is a Khalla. A Khalla is a extremely rare female Kindred that is said to embody the Goddess. Tragar knows he must keep her safe and get her back to his home planet of Rageron.

My heart hurt for Emily. She had been through so much and as the book went on, she had to go through so much more. I felt like she never got a break, she was always been shoved out of her comfort zone and not understanding what was happening to her. Tragar stole my heart. After having the things that happened to him in his past, I understand why he turned his back on the Goddess and why he didn't feel worthy of Emily. I love Emily and Tragar together. They are definitely one of my favorite couples of the series. Chapter 33, I cried my eyes out.

I absolutely can't wait for Forgotten (Brides of Kindred 16). I have a feeling I'm going to love Kate (short with curly hair like me) and I can't wait to meet Rone's Beast.

This is the first Evangeline Anderson book I've been unable to finish. I tried, believe me, but had to wave the white flag at about 30% in. My rating reflects a neutral middle of the road neutral rating because of that fact.

“Some Serious Story to this read”

Targeted Book #15 (Brides of the Kindred) Evangeline Anderson
Evangeline did it again with Targeted. I had a sneak peak of this book when she did the teaser at the end of Enslaved; it wasn’t until I picked it up and started reading that everything started coming back. This book had so much meat to it that it was almost impossible to put down because you just needed to see where things were going.
One of our main characters Tragar a Beast Kindred is a big, bulky, hot hot warrior with a tragic past and has been living with his self-imposed guilt for 10 years. His life style took a turn for the dark, denouncing the Goddess Mother of All and taking up a profession as a deadly assassin. His heart is cold as ice and hard as stone and he’s completed many a contract. So when he accepted a contract by none other “2” (god I hate this character) to kill a female who was supposedly dangerous and hurt innocents he thought nothing of it. UNTIL he saw his target, Emily Brooks, a kindergarten teacher. Tragar watched his target and for some unknown reason wasn’t ready to fulfill the contract. He wanted to see what was so dangerous about this female. From what he saw, she truly cared about the children and had a loving heart. He wasn’t seeing anything dangerous. He watched her for days and nothing.
His curiosity was piqued when one day he saw her running from the school in tears and tearing out of the parking lot only to be followed by a human male. Tragar followed them only to come up on a scene he totally did not expect. Emily’s horrific past came back to haunt her in the flesh and the proposition the human male offered her caused a stressed reaction in her and she attacked and fought for her life. Emily always knew she was a little different and thought she had an “other” (that’s what she called it) in her trying to get out. She had no idea what was happening to her and it frightened her. Tragar seeing what was going on came to her rescue and was ready to kill the human male. But Emily being Emily could not allow that so instead Tragar took care of the problem (and I mean by crushing every bone in his dominant hand so he could never harm another female again) then issued a threat and sent him on his way.
It was Tragar who finally realized what Emily was and explained to her what was happening. I know this description sounds vague but honestly I don’t want to say too much and so take away from this read. Seriously from this point on all I can say is OMG I’ve never seen so many twists, Ahhh Haaa moments, breath holding, heart stopping parts in a read. The last few chapters will have you crying and hanging onto the edge of your seat. Unbelievable story line. Especially the little tid bit revealed about Emily/Emallia and the Goddess Mother of All, that just so blew me away, but I still hate “2” who now is a chip in the body of “Y”. I know this is going to sound strange but there is something about “y” that I think is good. I’m hoping because he has feelings he’ll be the one to take down “2” or at least get that damn chip out of himself. The other two characters I’d like to bitch slap are Turra a wicked, jealous evil priestess assigned to Emily as her attendant and Mother Chundra the High Priestess. Oh wait until you read what happens with her. I loved it. My heart broke for Kate and Rone (I believe new characters introduced I don’t remember them from other reads). Now the prophecy mentioned in Enslaved makes sense and it will involve Thrace and Trin and Tragar and Emily. There is some serious story to this read I think everyone who picks it up will agree and you won’t be able to put it down until it’s done. I normally don’t read the chapter and teasers for the next book, but the way this book ended with such a big cliff hanger I broke my rules and had to read it. 5* and please give us the release date for Forgotten.

Overall: Emily is your everyday ordinary kindergarten teacher that has hot flashes, that changes her eye color and hair color. On one peculiar day she is feeling it more so and has no clue what is happening to her. Hoping to take a few days off of work she goes to see the principal and finds out that the new vice principal is the man that raped her in college. All while this is going on Tragar is apart of a assassin's group that takes out anyone for the right price. He is sent to Earth to kill Emily, but there is something about her that makes him pause. He sees her leave the school in a rush and than a male following her and he decides to follow them both. When he gets to her house, he sees that the man that followed her is trying to hurt her and before he can jump in and help Emily takes matters into her own hands and that's when Tragar figures out that Emily is actually a Khalla from his planet. He decides right than and there to take care of her and to get her to his home planet because a Khalla is a woman who is a true daughter of the goddess. After he "kidnaps" her, Emily starts to go into heat and Tragar helps her out the best way he can. After this point they head out into a journey of opening themselves to each other and also trusting each other to always be there. There is a lot of information given about the Beast Kindred and also a new kind of Kindred called the Wulvern. Emily and Tragar both deal with inner battles, but with the help of some new friends and the love they have for each other they are able to overcome anything and bond. This story is definitely one of my favorites from the series and I can't wait to read the next one.

Pros: I really loved everything about Emily's character. It made sense about the way she felt in certain situations and I was able to connect better with her because of it. I also really liked everything about Tragar's character because of the same reasons. There was just something about this story out of all in the series that was the most believable and realistic ( in some ways). I also loved that we as the readers got introduced to a new kind of Kindred and I hope there is a book written about them. I also liked that Ms. Anderson went back to the Beast Kindred and evolved their species and gave us more information about the Kindred. I know at the moment Y is a "bad" character, but I hope that he doesn't stay that way and he is able to find his own romance.

Cons: I personally wish that the head priestess would've gotten a harsher punishment than just having to leave the temple forever. I also didn't care for the very end of the epilogue because it left me with so many questions about the next book. Is it going to be a romance like the others is my main question. Other than that I really enjoyed the story.

Characters: Emily & Tragar

Page Turner: YES!!!

Series Cont: YES!

Recommend: Yes! I Highly Recommend this book and the whole series!

There are some surprises to this book. I love the approach Evangeline Anderson has taken on this book. This can be read as a standalone.

Emily Brooks is a female that lives on earth. She loves kids and teaches kindergarten. Do to something awful that has happen in her past she is unable to stand the thought of being with a man. So marriage and kids seems out of her future. She has always felt different. It is like she has another being living inside her trying to get out. This is very scary to Emily. She feels one day the one she calls the “other” will take over and she will be no more.

Rivin Tragar is a Beast Kindred that has renounced the Goddess after something awful that happens in his past. He has joined the Verrak and is now a hired assassin. His target is Emily Brooks. He has watched her for days and yet there is something stopping him from taking his target out. He is one that never misses a target. He always kills the one he is sent to kill. Then he smells her and realizes Emily is a Khalla. Beast Kindred are sworn to protect Khalla for they are very rare, precious, and consider a treasure. It is something imbed in their DNA that makes him want to protect her.

Targar and Emily find themselves are a dangerous journey while headed to Rageron. Emily has four stages that she will go thru becoming her Khalla. If these stages or not fulfilled and if Emily is breed to soon she could die. Tragar needs to help her keep from going thru these stages until they reach Rageron. He must due whatever it takes.

Targar is refusing his feelings for Emily because he feels unworthy. Emily is being very stubborn on who she wants as her mate. If she can not have Targar then she does not want anyone. Mother Chundra (FYI hated that woman) is refusing to allow Targar and Emily to mate. Will Emily and Targar ever end up together?

There is so many road block that Targar and Emily face. I must warn you that you might need a box of tissue when reading this book. This is one incredible book about true love, forgiveness and self sacrifice. Book well worth reading.

My Take on the Book
   HOLY Kindred Batman!!!

Emily Brooks may look like a normal everyday kindergarten teacher on the outside, but looks can be deceiving.

Tragar isn't the heartless assassin, he has strived to become.
Life for both these complicated characters will never be the same. This book takes the reader on so many twists and turns, ups and downs its a rollarcoast of emotions. Both fun and interesting, you root for the Emily and Tragar! The author knows how to build suspense and heat between the characters.
This is the first Kindred book I have read by this author and I have to tell you I fell in love with the characters! Both Emily and Tragar, and characters from previous books I have found a new author I will be reading the previous books and honestly I can't wait for the next novel in the serious to come out.

Very disappointed in general...

If you have triggers about belt beatings, you might want to steer clear of this book.

Too much squeeeee-factor to this for me to overcome, although the ending was good. I thought I had probably gotten used to the gross-out BDSM sex in this series by now, but this is basically as bad as those cheapo 'Milking for Daddy' type books, just 'interminably' longer. Aaaaand, it was just stupid with no raunchy fun.

There's a new/old villain and it just seems like that line from an oldie song, 'Meet the new boss, just like the old boss'. In this book the bad guy is living after his death as a chip implanted in an artificial womb created sycophant. We don't see either, but they are working their evil off-camera.

I had gotten behind on this series, so I had about 3 sitting on my Kindle. I'm going to read what I have already purchased (maybe), then I think I'm done with this. I have been reading BOK for years! I guess if I want to read the best of this series I need to go back to the first 10 or so. If I can stop reading ridiculous KA books, I can stop this too. I also have one or two others from newer Anderson series which will hopefully be better.

I've been reading this series for a few years now and what started out as a fun and sexy jaunt into outer space has turned into a bit of an - 'oh there's another book released. I must read it. Because I am a series-a-holic'. I did deviate from the series for a while but was drawn back with the offering of what appears to have been an explosion of new releases that I somehow missed. I started back in at book 14, which after a few chapters I could have sworn that I'd already read the book. So I pushed on. And yes. I am 99.9% sure I'd already read it. Unfortunately for the next book 14.5, I felt pretty much the same. So having already bought 15 and 16 it was all in or nothing.

Book 15, once again with the deja-vu thing, but I know I damn well hadn't read this book. I don't feel that it needed to be as long as it was (which is odd coming from me because usually I can't get enough). Honestly the whole bodily fluid thing icked me out and I'm a bit bored with the whole 'oh you have to lick my pussy to save my life' vibe. I have another book to get through and if I can't find any redeeming qualities in it, then I have to say that I think it might be time for me to put this series to bed.

Targeted is book 15 in the much loved Brides of Kindred Series. I first found this season luckily right back at the beginning and I haven’t looked back since. The whole series is an magnificent piece of writing, with each book telling a new story without repeating the same old, same old that can get tiresome.
I absolutely loved Tragar; so misguided and loathing in him self it brings out your protecting streak. He is sexy, smart, endearing and protective of Emily and was willing to die for her. Emily and her “inner voice” (I don’t want to spoil it for readers) are sweet and I couldn’t help to want to know them both more. Emily struggled with this part of herself but personally I would have been happy to know more about this other part of her. The only other thing to say about this couple is they are perfect for each other!
Another part of this book I truly loved was the introduction of Rone and Kate. It was like we had the bonus of two couples in one book and am absolutely counting the days down until the release of this next instalment.
Do yourself a favour, if you haven’t read this series yet buy it today as you wont regret it.

ARC for honest review
First of all, I would like to say that not only is Evangeline an amazing author but she is also my number one 1-click author. I never have to read the description of her books because I know that I will love them no matter what! And this book is no exception. Targeted is number 15 in the BOTK and is completely amazing as the first! Her stories never dip or falter and always keep you on the edge of your seat. When I finished reading Enslaved (#14 BOTK), she gave an excerpt of Targeted that left me wanting more. And boy, did she deliever! Emily and Tragar are the main characters for this book and she explores their back stories that leaves you really feeling for these characters. Not only do you fall in love with these people, but you want to fight with them when the fight, love with them when the love, and cry with them when they cry.
Evangeline is an amazing author and this book is another of hers that I would recommend 10 times over. Get it, you won't be disappointed!

Emily Brooks is an unassuming kindergarten teacher, with a price on her life. All is not as it seems, Emily is going through some dramatic changes, a dual personality fighting to take over. Tragar the beast kindred assigned by the Verek to take the contract on Emily's life, senses all is not as it seems and watches instead of killing her. When he discovers that she is a prized female beast kindred, nothing will stop him from trying to return her to her rightful home. As Emily's risky transformation progresses, they fight against the clock to reach Rageron in time. Can a plain kindergarten teacher and a disgraced kindred finally find happiness, of course! This is filled with action, romance, steamy sex scenes that will burn down the house. A fantastic next installment in this excellent series. Please note this is book 15 in this series. Because of recurring characters and ongoing story lines, this series is best read in order, starting with Claimed - book 1 in this series. A delightful book, well worth a read.

Honestly, I had to DNF it. The main heroine was just too much. I didn't get how the hero fell for her. I was with her until the voice witch. I think the prose could have been better at describing her falling under the witch's spell because it just made her seem overly trusting to the point of absolute foolishness. I liked the other novels in the series, but something about this one I just couldn't finish.

3.5 stars (not rounded up)

I'm a sucker for pnr sci-fi alien romance books so while I like the overall plots and stories in this series, the writing isn't exactly my cup of tea. The narrator is also a bit annoying to me and a 15+hour long audiobook book makes it fairly easy to get sick of the narrator and they way he brings the characters to life. I really hate when he whispers the thoughts of the MCs.

Soo I can honestly say that as much as I loved this book I can say that Emily was one step below irritating. I understand the fear she had of the Other, but at some point I felt like she was being contrary just to be so. On one hand I was like accept the Other and on the other hand I was like no one is giving this woman the full truth.

I love how this author continually introduces new villains, characters, and side plots. Can't wait to keep going thru the Kindred universe.

Wow Wow Wow

Another outstanding story from the Kindred series. This story is well written and the characters are very well developed. The addition of passion, hot sex, and loving romance just adds to the story. It's amazing to me how EA can come up with these wonderful storylines. Can't wait for the next book.
