Ivy Davis has truly outdone herself with Predator, the fifth installment of the King of the Mafia series. While it functions seamlessly as a standalone, it carries the high-octane energy and superb writing style that immediately draws you into a world of gritty, high-stakes alliances.
The story centers on Ciara, the daughter of the Irish Mafia head, who finds herself suffocating under her father’s overprotective rule. Her life takes a drastic turn when she is traded like a pawn in an arranged marriage to Marco, a man twice her age.
Marco, having recently recovered from a near-fatal betrayal, is hungry for retribution. He aligns himself with the Irish mob to reclaim his standing, only to find that the price of loyalty is a union he never wanted. Marco hired a hitman to kidnap his friend's sister, who is part of the Italian mob. Instead, the hitman took his bride-to-be and shot Marco and left him for dead. He survived, and now he has decided he needs to ally with the Irish mob. To do that, Marco must marry Patrick's daughter, Ciara, for Patrick to trust him.

Ciara is fed up with always having to have a bodyguard when she goes out. Her father has scared off every boy she had tried to get to know. But he's the head of the Irish Mafia so she doesn't have any say. Then he decides she's going to marry a man double her age, to help make their family more powerful. Marco has finally recovered from being left for dead. Teaming up with the Irish to get his revenge seemed like a great idea. Until he's told he has to marry Patrick's daughter to guarantee his loyalty. This wasn't what he wanted she's only twenty three, immature, spoilt and doesn't like being told what to do. But what choice does he have. Now her brother wants him dead. What started out as revenge now escalates into something more. This book follows on from Will and Gianna's story. What a great story it is. Not just about rivalry, there's brotherly love, trust, the need for personal choice and plenty of spice. Can Ciara ever be happy in a loveless marriage. Will Marco ever get his revenge. Or will he finally find something he didn't even know he was looking for. This is a brilliant series which all blend together perfectly but can easily be read as a standalone.

I had the privilege to read this story, and many others, by Ivy Davis. This fifth installment of the Kings of the Mafia series was superb. As with the others, it’s a standalone within an interconnected series. In this one, Marco hired a hitman to kidnap his friend’s sister who is part of the Italian mob. Instead, he took his bride to be and shot Marco and left him for dead. He survived and now vowed to align with the Irish mob. Marco had to marry Patrick’s daughter, Ciara, to gain Patrick’s trust. Ciara didn’t trust Marco and he saw her as an inconvenience. Then things get interesting… The characters are well developed and have banter, chemistry, and strong feelings both positive and negative. The story was captivating and full of twists and turns. Ivy has a wonderful way with mafia romances and this one is no different.

Marco was not happy when Enzo aligned the Italians with the bratva through marriage, he had attempted to kidnap Enzos sister Gianna for marriage but that plan failed. So he is in need of another aliance and that leads him to the irish mob and Ciaras father who offers her in marriage. Ciara was a spoilt woman who got what she wanted at tje click of her fingers only she couldn't be free of the life, and now shes forced in marriage to a man twice her age and one her brother wants dead. but will this marriage become more than just a formality for an aliance? Well engaging steamy fast paced age gap and more.

My first opinion of Ciara was not very positive as she just seemed to be another spoiled Mafia princess being forced into an unwanted arranged marriage. I watched her change before my eyes as she became a strong wife and partner to Marco Amato who found out he got more than he bargained for when they married. Marco never seemed to care about anything but himself and revenge until he learned to care for someone other than himself. Great read and a bit different than others in the King of the Mafia Series as each story just gets better and better.

I absolutely loved diving back into this series; the author has done such a fantastic job continuing the story, and the world-building and character development are truly exceptional. I was particularly impressed with how seamlessly all the books connect and how engaging the character interactions are. The author has masterfully crafted a captivating and immersive reading experience that kept me on the edge of my seat, and I found myself completely lost in the story. For anyone who enjoys dark mafia romance, this book is an absolute must-read; I highly recommend it!.

The story had potential, and I wanted to love it but I was so bored. The dialogue & internal monologue between the mcs was so repetitive it felt like reading the same page over & over. You want love, we get it. She wanted to kill you, we get it. You want revenge, WE GET IT. Omg. It was every page. It made me lose interest in the storyline.
Overall, it was a quick read. Its a short book.

This is the fifth installment of the King of the Mafia series. Revolves around the arranged marriage between Marco and Ciara. This Mafia romance is filled with action, drama, danger, shocking twist and turns and plenty of spice. Wonderfully written where the well developed characters come to life throughout the book and the storyline is fantastic. An enjoyable and entertaining read from start to finish. Definitely recommend reading. Look forward to seeing what Ivy Davis will come up with next.

Marco wants revenge again Will for shooting him and stealing his women. The only way to get enough power to do that is marry in to the Irish mafia, he is not a interested in the marriage but soon learns that she is more then a pretty face. However when it was announced she wanted him dead and her brother has tried several times to do that. Now she wants the marriage to work and Cormac her brother is still determined to kill his brother in law.

This story grabbed me from the first page and kept me connected to Marco and Ciara. He was out for revenge and to get it he went to a rival mafia to do it. An arranged marriage was not part of the plan and Ciara brought a depth to the story that takes it up a notch. The twists and turns are thrilling and had me cheering on this unlikely couple to get their chance for happiness.

Will Marco get his revenge and keep Ciara happy? We will see. I love how this story plays out between Marco, Ciara, and Cormac. Things get crazy between the three of them. But I also feel a bit sad about Marco and his brother Antonio's relationship. Antonio left the Mafia to keep his daughter and won't let Marco back into their lives. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

This is the fifth book in the King of the Mafia series. I enjoyed Marco and Ciara’s story. It’s an awesome age gap, arranged marriage romance. I loved how patient he was with her from the beginning. Great Book!!
I really enjoyed reading Predator, it was a great story and it sucked me in and kept me engrossed from start to finish. Ciara and Marco’s story was action packed, hot and loved the ending!!

I really enjoyed this one. The story brings a strong mix of revenge, power, and complicated emotions that keep things interesting from start to finish.
Marco’s drive and intensity add a darker edge, while the female lead’s strong will creates a great balance between them. Their dynamic is what really makes the story stand out.
