My stepbrother was supposed to be my downfall, not my addiction.
When my father marries into America’s most powerful family, I’m thrown into a world of cruel smiles, ruthless rules, and one dangerously beautiful stepbrother who looks at me like I’m everything he wants gone. Roman Devereux is cold, grieving, and impossible to ignore. Then he finds out my darkest secret. Now we’re bound by blackmail, trapped under one roof, and tangled in a war of obsession, power, and forbidden desire. The more I fight him, the more he sees the parts of me no one else ever has. And the more I hate him, the more I want him. Roman could destroy everything. That should be enough to make me run. So why do I keep craving the fire?
• Enemies to lovers • Forced proximity • Old money x Outsider • Secret Double Life • Blackmail to Obsession • Grief-Stricken Anti-Hero
EVERY SINGLE TOUCH is a dark, emotional enemies to lovers romance for mature readers. obsession, mental health themes, grief, intense chemistry, eventual healing, and hard-earned Happily Ever After.
This book features a truly ghastly set of characters only relieved by the MFC, Priya, the 17 year old daughter of an Indian diplomat who has married into a rich Californian family. She and her stepbrother Roman attend a school for entitled kids with rich parents. Being English I am afraid but i find it faintly absurd that 2nd or 3rd generation rich American families have this idea of a settled heritage.
However all these kids are revolting and racist, including Roman who has an enormous chip on his shoulder. He shows some sense of responsibility at a party and after this he and Priya enter into a form of intimate relationship.
The writing is intentionally dramatic all the way through, which can be quite a strain and the book needs some lighter moments to balance it out.
