This romance had plenty of pining, heart, and just the right amount of chaos.

Jake and Jill completely won me over, and I loved their chemistry, banter, and the way these two stubborn souls slowly figured out what they wanted and found their way to each other.

Jake was such a lovable cowboy hero, while Jill’s journey of finding her confidence, opening up, and building her own found family really touched me. Their relationship had plenty of emotion and growth, and I especially loved the small-town atmosphere, friendships, and found family woven throughout the story.

And then there was Mac, who absolutely stole the show! That chaotic little pup brought so much fun and heart to every scene. This one had plenty of swoon and plenty of heart, plus one unforgettable little dog.

I’m definitely looking forward to spending more time with this found family.

I looveeeed this book…so much!

I adored Jake and Jill. These two couldn’t be more different, but they fit together perfectly. Jake is one of the highest-ranking bull riders in the country—charismatic, kind, selfless, and a total cinnamon roll underneath it all. He shows how much he cares through acts of service and is always taking care of the people he loves…just don’t make him jealous. 😂 Jill is a true NYC city girl who is just as selfless, but she’s spent years carrying the hurt of a complicated family relationship.

Both of them are carrying trauma and heavy hearts, and at times, this story really tugged at my heartstrings.

I loved their journey from secret friends with benefits, to no contact, to “we can only be friends,” to finally becoming everything. The pining was so good, the group chats were hilarious, and the found family meant everything.

And Mac, the cutest and most mischievous little Jack Russell Terrier, was the best little matchmaker.

Another banger of an ARC, and Konnor Manning is officially a new auto-buy author for me.

this was such a cute story 🥹 Jill and Jake were honestly so perfect for one another and it was adorable how down bad Jake was trying his damndest to get Jill to like him back after a misunderstanding at the start of their journey 🤭

it was so fun to see their own respective journeys regarding personal growth and finding out what the wanted in life. Jill comes from a successful family, but one where she never felt supported or love. she was able to find a new family in Montana, and the amount of support she received from everyone was so heartwarming 😭

Jack was having to determine if he was going to continue you bull riding or potentially transition into a different role. during this time, these two grew together and ultimately found their happy ever after 🥹

This is a great read. City girl Jill falls for the bull rider Jake. It is not that simple but it is, these two connect, hang out in secret, until an accident and he is injured. The two share a differing opinion.

The fling ends as she returns to New York. As he is a healing hermit for the summer, Jake ends up with a dog. Mac does not have the best manners; Jake needs a dog trainer, Mac needs obedience training. Can Mac be the matchmaker these two need?

Konner Manning is a new favorite author, she makes these two stubborn souls likeable. They are two halves to a whole and together heal much of their past hurts. The pining is good, the friends’ group and group chats are entertaining, and the found family is memorable.

I struggled with this one a bit. Going into it, it had many things that I would enjoy in a romance novel, but a lot of things didn’t connect, or make much sense.

Starting with their professions, specifically. Jill was a vet student but decided to be a dog trainer instead? Because Jake had a dog that needed training…
Jake is a former bull rider. Injury taking him from that profession, but he then goes on to be a teacher?
The whole thing had me scratching my head. I’m not sure which direction they were heading towards.

Besides that, the story was fast paced. It was entertaining at times, but Jake and Jill were very surface level. I had a hard time connecting with either of them. While their chemistry was very obvious, both characters would’ve benefited from a slower paced story to really develop them as individuals.

They both had their own struggles, but we never really got a deep dive into what made them like that, which is unfortunate because that would’ve made the characters more relatable.

With that being said, it wasn’t a bad read if you’re looking for something lighthearted and fun!

Grief has a funny way of working. It doesn’t hold out just for those who have passed. Jill and Jake are two sides of the same coin, both grieving folk who are alive and gone. Their grief may be similar but they’re complete opposites in every other way and yet somehow they work together so perfectly. I loved being able to see both these personas come alive in this story!

"Change My Ways" by Konnor Manning has its moments of tension and pining, but overall, I found it to just be "fine." My main critique is that the relationship between Jake (MMC) and Jill (FMC) feels like it happens way, way too fast. I know they both mention this several times during the book, but it's staggering how quickly they get attached to each other! I almost didn't believe it in the beginning. I also think this book is a bit too long. Several chapters could have been scrapped as they felt repetitive and unnecessary. Still, this is a solid book! Jake and Jill have both been subjected to traumas throughout their lives and are working through them. Jake's uncle unexpectedly passed away, which led to him wanting a freer existence. Then, his cousin died, and it irrevocably broke his family. The expectation was always that he would work on his family's ranch, but that began to feel more like a prison to him after those deaths, so instead, he became a champion bull rider, the best in the country. Jill's parents are both cardiothoracic surgeons who all but ignore her existence. Though her family has money and has no problem giving it to her, all Jill really longs for is a relationship, any single one, that will stick around. When the two of them meet in his small Montana town one night, there is an instant connection between them, but Jake is not looking for anything serious. After an unimaginable injury, Jill sticks around to help him heal, but a fight sends her fleeing back to New York before her veterinary college courses in Montana start again. When they reconnect, it's different this time around. Jake has realized he can't live without Jill. She consumes her every thought. Sadly, though, he refuses to say whether or not he's going to start bull riding again after his injuries fully heal. This is the main source of strife between the two of them. It's always looming in the background, but because of her reaction the first time around, he refuses to discuss his future plans, leading to potential problems being pushed off for another day. Lurking in the back of my mind, though, I kept thinking about how fast their connection began. Sure, their relationship deepens as the book goes on, but some doubt was always there, especially since Jake was essentially lying to Jill over and over. I have to admit, it was difficult to get over! Maybe my problem was just with Jake altogether (???). I did love the whole birthday surprise; that part really worked for me. I also loved the friendship connection between Jill, Callee, Marcy, and Devan, and how Jill eventually learned to open up to them about her life and circumstances with her parents. I also enjoyed the sibling-like relationship between cousins Jake and Cade. Other standout characters include the snarky Aunt Sharon and the lovely Fletcher and Ann, workers for Jill's parents who essentially raised her in absentia. I enjoyed Jill doing agility training with Jake's dog, Mac, and her leaning into her love of training. Seeing her learn to stand up for herself, where her horrid parents were concerned, worked for me as well.

🐎🤎 Sometimes Changing Your Plans Is How You Find Where You Belong 🤎🐎

Change My Ways by Konnor Manning gave me a cowboy romance with plenty of heart, complicated characters, and two people trying to figure out what they really want their futures to look like. Jake and Jill are both carrying wounds from their pasts, and I liked that underneath their attraction, this became a story about learning to trust, finding people who stay, and having the courage to change the path you thought you were supposed to follow.

Jill was the character I connected with most. She grew up with parents who could give her everything financially but never gave her the emotional connection she desperately wanted. That history made her fear of people leaving feel understandable. I really enjoyed watching her slowly let Callee, Marcy, and Devan into her life and realize that friendship could be something safe and lasting. I also loved seeing her stand up for herself with her parents and begin figuring out what she wanted instead of continuing to live according to their expectations.

Jake has his own complicated relationship with expectations. After experiencing devastating losses in his family, the ranch life planned for him began to feel more like something he needed to escape. Bull riding gave him that freedom, until a traumatic injury forced him to stop and reconsider everything. I enjoyed getting underneath the confident cowboy exterior and seeing the grief and uncertainty he had been carrying. His relationship with Cade was another highlight, and that cousin bond brought some really nice family moments into the story.

And then there is Mac! 🐶 I loved the dog-training element and how it brought Jill and Jake back into each other's lives. It also gave Jill an opportunity to explore something she genuinely loved and was good at. Between Mac, the birthday surprise, Aunt Sharon's snark, and Fletcher and Ann being the steady parental figures Jill deserved, there were several moments and relationships that made me smile.

My biggest struggle was how quickly Jake and Jill became emotionally attached. Their chemistry was easy to see, but I wanted a little more time for their deeper relationship to develop before their feelings became quite so intense. I also thought some of the conflict surrounding whether Jake would return to bull riding became repetitive because they continued avoiding the conversation instead of really dealing with it. A slightly tighter story would have made their emotional journey even stronger for me.

Even with those pacing issues, I enjoyed watching these two grow individually and together. Change My Ways is ultimately about more than a city girl falling for a cowboy. It's about realizing that changing direction doesn't mean you've failed. Sometimes it means you're finally choosing the life and the people that make you happy. 🤎🐎

First of all I just want to say thank you to Konnor Manning and Luna Literary for the ARC of Change My Ways, I really enjoyed this book :)

Jake and Jill... Y'all stole my heart from the get go. Second chance, city girl x bull rider (enough said), and found family... Sign me up immediately

Jake suffers an accident while bull riding. He's trying to put his life back together, like a puzzle, piece by piece. Jake and Jill have spent some time together without the knowledge of anyone else but that stopped after the accident because he pushed her away. Summer rolls around and Jill is on break from school and upon her arrival Jake realizes she was more than just a fling

One of the coping mechanisms Jake uses is to get a dog named Mac, and who just so happens to be the best pup trainer around, you guessed it, none other than Jill. He's pretty excited to have her around and the more time they spend together, Jill realizes she can't stay away from Jake forever, which is something she thought about doing but doesn't have the strength to, if that makes sense

Jake's showing up for her in ways that nobody ever has before, let's be real here... Will anyone ever know Jill as well as Jake does? The depth to their relationship is something no one can duplicate. When Jake decides to go back to bull riding, Jill takes that move pretty hard, who wouldn't though. Place yourself in her shoes, How do you think you'd react? She knows that bull riding will always be a part of Jake's life, which is why she let's him go. He's gotta do this for himself and for their future and trust he'll find his way back to her

There's a ton of emotion and heart throughout this whole book! My heart broke for Jill and all she had/has to put up with when it comes to her family. I felt like just jumping into the book and giving her a bear hug. She deserves to know how loved she is by the people who actually care about her, which should be her parents/family but that ain't the case. I did appreciate her brother standing up for her and having her back, that was great to see

The found family aspect of this book/series is pretty neat, from the girls at school to everyone on the ranch, Jill has her people, that's what's most important. Jake and Jill both deal with some heavy things during this story because you never know when life is going to throw you a curveball so excepted the unexpected y'all! The way these two fight to find their way back to one another is incredibly special. Everything Jake did or is going to do is all for Jill, that right there shows you how beautiful their journey as individuals and as a couple truly is.

One Final Note: Jake, Jill, and Mac are so freaking adorable! Those moments between them are precious, you cannot help but smile at them

*First of all, I just want to say that I feel like I did myself a slight disservice by reading the second book first, simply because of how wonderful this book was!! I promise this may have been the first book I have been lucky enough to read by Konnor Manning, but it certainly will not be the last!*

If you like books along the lines of “The Longest Ride” by Nicholas Sparks then boy howdy do I have the book for you!!
- “Change My Ways” by Konnor Manning is full of wonderful moments, some that will make you laugh until you cry and some that will have you straight up sobbing. Either way it’s not one that will be easily forgotten!!
- Jake and Jill have their ups and downs but he will stop at nothing to make sure she is happy and has her dreams!
- Jill has had a rough childhood and has been hurt before, but a certain cowboy and a rowdy little dog are out to change her life, for the better!!
- Jake Goldson has always been set in his ways, bull riding and buckle bunnies paved the rodeo road for a while, can he prove to himself that being a bull rider isn’t all he’s ever going to amount to?
- She has a dream and he literally builds it from the ground up in his backyard!!
~ I love all the swoony moments between the two of them but the relationship HIS family builds with her is incredible 😍
~ If you like funny group chats, sweet-talking cowboys, a rambunctious puppy, matching tattoos, nicknames, and a love story that will have you up until 4:00 in the morning, then “Change My Ways” is the book for you!!

I went in to this new to me author and new book after I found a post on bookstagram that compared this to an Elsie Silver book. And I’ll be straight up honest I had HIGH hopes coming in to it because of this 🫣

Unfortunately for me it fell flat. I would give it a 0.5 🌶️ factor and give it a 2.5 ⭐️

I hate writing bad or tough reviews, especially when I feel like there’s a lot of good potential but I also want to be honest.

I had a really hard time connecting with the main characters, Jack and Jill. Everything always seemed to be very surface level, especially Jill who had a lot of potential character depth and issues, those issues were only truly resolved at the surface or left as plot holes.

A lot of things seemed to change in a very short period of time. Jill goes home for the summer, where we start, and comes back and it’s over by thanksgiving, but within the late August to Thanksgiving we decide everyone needs to change career, ‘resolve’ major life issues like her relationship with her parents and also Jack’s issues about why he ‘needs’ bull riding. I think that’s why it felt surface level, there just seemed to be a lot of talk but nothing that truly went deep, like hanging up on your father and then thinking ok that’s it doesn’t usually leave a feeling of resolved for the reader. Getting a tattoo together but then I didn’t understand where the tattoo went??? First it’s on the left side of the chest and then it’s across or touching the heart?!? I had a hard time picturing things in this book.

Also note… this is a CLOSED door romance, going into this after seeing a review that compared it to Elsie Silver this left me super disappointed. The ‘hot and spicy’ hot tube scene that some readers are sharing via bookstagram is a make out scene and then we end there and pick it back up in the am. This is by no means the author’s fault! I would just rate this as a 0.5 🌶️ if that was me.

Typos/grammar, I just wish there wasn’t any, one or two here and there is fine but I felt like there were quite a bit. Ugh. Just a pet peeve.

Now there was a LOT of potential though, and looking at the author’s list this is clearly a new author so I am however intrigued to see what she writes in the future and how her writing evolves!

Overall I can see others enjoying this book but it just wasn’t for me, yet.

Give me a bull rider, a small-town romance, and all the cowboy vibes, and I'm sold.

Jake and Jill completely stole my heart. Their chemistry was off the charts, filled with tension, banter, and all the emotions. Watching these two stubborn people slowly figure things out had me smiling one minute and tearing up the next.

Our bull-riding man, Jake - is everything I love in a cowboy—confident, charming, a little reckless, but with the biggest heart underneath it all. After his bull riding accident, watching him rethink everything and find his way again made me love him even more. Jill was the perfect match for him. She didn't make anything easy, and honestly, I loved that she made him work for it. Their relationship felt messy, real, and so worth the journey. Mac, that cute little adorable fury ball!!!

Let's be honest... Mac is the real main character. That chaotic little bug completely stole the show, and I loved every second of it. The bull rider may be hot, but Mac was the real heartthrob. Change my mind.

I absolutely adored the love Jake and Jill had for each other. It ran so much deeper than just romance. The respect, the care, and the way they showed up for one another made their relationship feel so genuine.

This book had everything I wanted: small-town charm, cowboy romance, forced proximity, healing, found family, emotional moments, laugh-out-loud scenes, and a romance that just kept getting better with every chapter.

This crew….Devan - this girl is completely unhinged, and I already know she's going to be so much fun to read. And Sharon? I absolutely loved how she was everyone's safe place. Her home felt like the heart of this little family! I’m here for it all!

If you love cowboys who fall hard, strong heroines who don't give in easily, and the cutest puppy to ever steal the spotlight, you need to pick this one up. Konnor Manning absolutely knocked this one out of the park, and I'm already desperate for the next book in this series!

"Change My Ways" was such a great story with so many emotional elements that matched perfectly with the tension and banter between our two main characters.

Jake Goldson is such a perfect example of a golden retriever MMC that will do anything in his power to win Jill over again. After sustaining a serious injury, Jake begins working to piece his life back together, but he never would have expected Jill to waltz back into his life and begin to consume every one of his thoughts. As Jake and Jill spend more time together, he begins to reconsider who he truly is. He has only ever been "Jake Goldson the bull rider," but what if he was just "Jake Goldson the man that was in love with Jill Rosso."

Jill Rosso is a veterinary student who has built her walls up so high that she doesn't ever plan to let someone in. However, when Jill begins training Jake's dog, Mac, she begins to see those walls crumble as she falls for Jake. While past trauma constantly haunts her and threatens to invade all of her thoughts, she starts to realize that Jake may just love her for who she truly is.

Konnor Manning did an incredible job writing two main characters that had their own internal struggles to work through, but also gave them an amazing support group in each other as well as all of the side characters introduced throughout the story. She perfectly balanced the emotional parts of the story with the sweet and spicier moments which made the book so easy to read and fall in love with!

"Change My Ways" may have been my first book by Konnor, however, it will not be the last! I truly enjoyed every minute and I highly recommend this book to everyone!

Change My Ways by Konnor Manning was an amazing read - From the romance and wild chemistry to the friendships, found family and one very mischievous little dog, this book had me hooked! Jake and Jill were such an unexpected pairing, but I absolutely adored them together.

Jake is a badass bull rider that comes across as having plenty of confidence and swagger, but underneath it all he’s the sweetest man. He soon realises that actions speak louder than words and he shows her how he is thoughtful, loyal, protective and supportive of those he loves.

Jill is his complete opposites. She’s a NYC girl with a complicated past. She’s been hurt by those who were ment to love her and she’s just trying to keep her head up and finish her studies. It’s nice to see her walls start to come down and choose a brighter future.

Their relationship starts off rocky and they both try and play it cool but soon turns into something much more complicated when feelings get involved. I loved watching Jake and Jill figure out what they actually wanted and realise that the person they’d been trying so hard to stay away from was exactly who they needed.

The other characters in this book definitely created a sense of found family vibes. Their group chats here top tier!

And the way Mac brought them together - This wee Jack Russell was the naughtiest but cutest accidental matchmaker. He gave them a way to connect together and brought them so much closer throughout the book.

This was one of those books that gave me all the feels it was funny, emotional, swoony and full of heart — exactly what I want from a romance. I look forward to seeing what Konnor Manning writes next!!

✨ARC REVIEW✨ 4.5⭐️ oh Jake and Jill my hearttt! After suffering an accident while bull riding Jake is trying to put the pieces of his life back together. Jake and Jill had been spending time together without anyone knowing but after that accident he pushed her away. They spent the summer apart while Jill was on break from school but when she returns Jake knows she was always deeper than a fling. To cope with his healing he adopts a pup named Mac and the best dog trainer they know is none other than Jill. He’s happy to keep her in his orbit and the more time they spend together the more Jill knows she’s not strong enough to stay away from Jake forever. He’s showing up on the little ways that no one ever has for her before. Despite what may come when he returns to bull riding Jill knows that Jake will always be a part of her she just has to let him find his way back.

SO MUCH emotion and heart in this one! My heart absolutely ached for Jill and everything she went through with her family. I wanted to just wrap her up in a hug and show her she’s so loved by so many even if it’s not the people who should love her unconditionally. The family she’s found with the girls in her school and everyone on the ranch is truly beautiful. I absolutely ADORED Jake and little Mac!! Both Jake and Jill are dealing with some heavy things life has thrown at them but they how they find their way back to each other is so special. Everything Jake is doing is for Jill and it just warmed my heart so much!! Love this crew!!

Oh my goshhhhhhh. You give me a bull rider and some small town vibes I'm down for a good time 😛

Jake our bull riding MANNNN. After some damn good chemistry with our girly Jill and some conflict after an injury, it causes these two to split up for months. Jake got the cutest dog ever and Jill.....she had to help him train our good boy Mac🥹 Mac, the meddler. He said "youre my dad and youre my mom" and he was the bestest boy 😌 Star off the show 🤭 Jake was such a wholesome character. Having to switch paths in his life to heal, he found himself being pushed so close to Jill daily. Oh that sweet forced proximity hehehehe. I love that they became friends while fixing and mending what they had before. While she helped Mac, she tried to keep her feelings in check. Always guarded from being hurt in the past by those closest to her. I truly felt for her and wanted to give her the biggest hug😭😭😭

I absolutely adored their love for one another. It truly went so deep. The level of respect and the care was shown. The course? The birthday surprise? The tattoos? Oh my heart🥹 just so so beautiful .

I really struggled with this one. On paper, it had so many things that I thought I would enjoy but i was a bit thrown off as soon as I started reading the book. A vet student turned dog trainer, an injured bull rider turned teacher, and in the end it just didn't fully work for me.

The story had a quick pace and there were definitely moments that I found entertaining, but I had a difficult time connecting with both the plot and the characters. I never felt fully immersed in their individual journeys, which made it hard for me to become invested in their relationship.

Jake and Jill both had their own struggles and personal growth arcs that could have added a lot of emotional depth to the story. However, I felt like we only scratched the surface of what they were going through. Because we never really dove deeper into their backgrounds or emotions, the characters ended up feeling a bit one-dimensional to me.

Their chemistry was front and center throughout the book, but at times it felt repetitive and overshadowed the opportunity for more meaningful character development. I found myself wishing for a slower burn romance that would have allowed their connection to develop more naturally while giving us more insight into who they are individually even though it was a second chance romance.

That being said, this wasn't a bad romance by any means, it just wasn't the right fit for me.

Change My Ways by Konnor Manning was such an enjoyable cowboy romance, with plenty of chemistry, emotional baggage and that irresistible city-girl-meets-cowboy dynamic.

Jill and Jake already have a complicated history when the story begins. What started as something casual changed after Jake’s traumatic bull riding accident, and after spending the summer apart, Jill is determined to keep him firmly in the past. The problem? Jake is back at his family ranch recovering, and an unruly puppy brings Jill straight back into his life.

I really enjoyed the push and pull between these two. Jill’s difficulty trusting people gives her a believable reason for keeping Jake at arm’s length, while Jake has some big decisions to make about what he actually wants from his future. Bull riding has always been his life, but being forced to slow down makes him question whether the fame, travelling and adrenaline are still enough.

The puppy/dog-training storyline was such a cute addition and gave Jill and Jake plenty of opportunities for forced proximity. Their “just friends” rule was never going to last, and watching their feelings gradually become impossible to ignore was one of my favourite parts.

There’s romance, ranch life, emotional healing, cowboy charm and just enough angst to keep things interesting. I especially liked that underneath the chemistry was a story about trust, vulnerability and deciding whether the life you’ve always known is still the life you want.

A sweet, heartfelt cowboy romance that left me smiling.

I absolutely adored this book!! Jake and Jill completely stole my heart from the very beginning. Their chemistry was so good, full of tension, banter, and all the emotions. Watching these two stubborn people slowly figure things out had me smiling one minute and tearing up the next.

Jake was everything I love in a cowboy hero. Confident, charming, a little reckless, but with the biggest heart underneath it all. Seeing him after the bull riding accident and having to rethink everything made me love him even more. And Jill was such a great match for him. She didn’t make things easy, and honestly, I loved that she made him work for it. Their relationship felt messy, real, and so worth the journey.

But can we please talk about MAC?! 😭🐶 That adorable chaos gremlin completely owned this book. Every scene with him had me grinning, and the Halloween costumes had me laughing so hard. “Walking him like a dog” officially has a whole new meaning now. 😂😉

This book had everything I wanted. Small town vibes, cowboy romance, forced proximity, healing, found family, emotional moments, laugh out loud scenes, and a romance that just kept getting better with every chapter. I didn’t want it to end.

If you love swoony cowboys who fall hard, strong heroines who don’t give in easily, and the cutest puppy to ever steal the spotlight, you need to pick this one up. Konnor Manning absolutely knocked this one out of the park, and I’m already desperate for more from this series!

This book completely stole my heart! ♥️

From the very first chapter, I was hooked on Jill and Jake’s story. I absolutely loved the city girl meets cowboy trope, and the chemistry between them was off the charts.

One of my favorite things about this book was how much it made me laugh. The banter between Jill and Jake was witty, playful, and had me smiling the entire time. Their relationship felt so natural, and their back-and-forth made them even more fun to root for.

The romance was the perfect mix of sweet and steamy. I loved how protective Jake was of Jill, and underneath his tough cowboy exterior was someone with a huge heart. I also admired Jill for always wanting Jake to be happy, even when she didn’t always agree with the risks that came with his bull riding career. Their love story wasn’t always easy, but that’s what made it feel so real and emotional.

The small-town ranch setting and the adorable puppy added so much charm to the story. Every character felt like they belonged, and I found myself completely invested in their journey.

If you’re looking for a heartfelt cowboy romance filled with humor, sizzling chemistry, emotional moments, and characters you’ll fall in love with, I highly recommend Change My Ways. I couldn’t put it down and was smiling long after I finished. An easy 5-star read for me!

I thought the first book was so cute, this book was just as cute and cozy. This book is very much an opposites attract. He is a bull rider who grew up on a ranch his whole life and she is a rich city girl. He grew up with the best most loving family and she grew up with a nanny basically raising her. Two totally different lifestyles and two totally different ways of life but when they merge sparks ignited. You get a glimpse of Jake and Jill in the first book. This book starts off with a fight between Jake and Jill. Jake gets hurt riding a bull and is told by the doctors he needs to give it up, but Jake is not ready. Jill is scared clearly and wants him to give it up so they get in a fight. But life happens and they are brought back into each other’s lives over and over again. Jill ends up training/falling in love with Jake’s dog! The question is, will there past allow them to have a future? Will Jake eventually give up bull riding and let his future with Jill happen? Can they both get past their fears and traumas? This book is extremely good and is one of those books that just keeps pulling you in deeper !

Change My Ways by Konnor Manning eARC Review 💚

I have been waiting for Jake and Jill’s book after falling in love with both of them in Heal My Heart. It was absolutely worth the wait. And okay, I didn’t really have to wait THAT long because I read Heal My Heart a few weeks ago BUT Konnor is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine. I have fallen in love with her writing and storytelling and these beautiful characters that she has created.

I knew that Jake and Jill’s story was going to be emotional, messy and special all at the same time. Second chance perfection. The way this man YEARNS for her is something else. The growth that both of these characters experience throughout this story is incredible. Watching both of them open their hearts to each other after being so guarded for so long was my absolute favorite thing to witness.

All the love for Jake and Jill and the amazing found family at Goodson Ranch. I can’t wait for what’s to come in this series! 😍

From the start I couldn’t get enough of this book, and it lived up to my expectations. We have Jake our MMC Bull rider, who is torn between counting living his fast paced life or , to stay at home on the ranch and live a new life. Jill our FMC Vet and dog trainer, who struggles with her own dark past of not feeling loved or wanted.

We see them at the start of what they had and what could have been but that quickly falls apart with a heated fight that had Jill & Jake go there separate ways. Once Jill return home she sees Jake again, and then we’re on an emotional, chaotic and heart aching journey with him. Mixed with found family and some spice to had the cherry on top. Both struggle with their own personal problems which leads to insecurities , but we see them grow as individuals and as a couple.

I couldn’t put this book down and finished it pretty quickly. The pace is on the slowish side, but it’s done so well. It gives you enough time to really get and understand each of the character we get introduced to🤗

Oh Jake and Jill…

Please check the content warnings on these two, while Jake has overlaps with Cade, he does handle his grief differently. I also feel I should mention that the intimacy is mostly fade to black. There are a few explicit scenes, but a lot is still insinuated between these two.

I loved the heat between these two. The subtle touches, the visits stolen inbetween Cade and Callie’s courtship, Mac (all I should have to say there, he’s adorable).

Jake definitely uses humour as a mask, but he also has a playful side that is infectious and brings his friends and family together.

Jill is the stoic, in control FMC after growing up in a very distant household. She definitely teases and taunts Jake, which is entertaining to watch.

I’m always a sucker for a group chat (still fantastic between the girls and the guys). Jake’s birthday gift for Jill was perfection. The Halloween couple costumes sounded fantastic.

This close knit (found) family just warms the heart. I’m not sure who I want to see fall next, Miller and Marcy or Devan and Davis. Oh and extra bonus points for all the main character alliteration.

My first Konnor book and it won’t be my last because I definitely NEED to go back and read grumpy Cade’s story. Jake and Jill stole my whole heart. There was so much emotion and depth to this story, and to the two of them. Jill had grown up never being shown love (especially from those that were SUPPOSED to love her) and never feeling like she was good enough. She’s found her people, the ones who have chosen to love her, but she still struggles with not being enough and thinking everyone is going to leave. And Jake has used bull riding as an outlet to escape the loss and loneliness he feels at home. I wanted to hug both of them and never let go. The way they find their way back together, and through our little Mac of all, was something so special. The way they choose each other, open their guarded hearts to one another and get through the traumas of their past together, warmed my heart. I cannot wait for what’s to come with this series!

This was a really sweet story with two of my favorite tropes, bull riders and veterinarians! What a great combo. I really enjoyed the underlying plot of how grief manifests and the pain and anxiety it causes in everyday life.

I absolutely loved that Jill is studying to be a veterinarian and works with dogs in her spare time. She was so passionate about training Mac and it showed with how much she cared about him. I liked how resilient she was and that she didn't just fall all over Jake. I admired that she had some self respect and stood up for herself.

I really liked Jake. He was a down to earth character and had a entertaining personality. I related to the fact that he used humor to cope with the hard things. I enjoyed seeing his character grow and mature as the story progressed. He had just enough cocky cowboy to be sexy without being overwhelming.

This was an enjoyable and entertaining story. I loved the big family feel and the ranch setting. The supporting characters were likeable and interesting. The writing was descriptive and easy to read. I really liked it and would recommend it!!
