When a young woman finds herself thrust into another life and time, a new world begins to unfold in ways which she could never have imagined.
As her destiny reveals itself, Gwynne begins to adapt to her astonishing new circumstances and all that they hold. But she quickly realizes that this life will be one filled with danger, passion and conflict, complete with two gorgeous men who are a mix of passion and strength.
And she wouldn't trade this life for anything.
This is the complete bestselling Sought by the Alphas saga, five books compiled into one Boxed Set for the first time.
Before I start on my review, let me start with I went into reading this really looking forward to these books. However, If I could give this little series 0 stars I would. Not only were there huge plot holes in ALL of the books, but the characters personalities were beyond annoying.
Let's start with our Heroine. Gwynne. Overall, she was beyond frustrating. She was annoying, in regards to . She did prove to be a good mom, but overall I just disliked her character with a passion. The back and forth, back and forth with her was exhausting.
For example: "I can connect to Lachlan so well" "I WILL BURN YOUR FACE OFF" "I shouldn't have done that and now I'm going to bang Rauth" "YOU ARE TEARING US APART" "I love them both so much and they will change" "YOU ARE DEAD TO ME IF YOU TAKE MY BABIES" "He was super right. Damn. He blames me" "GET OVER IT AND STOP TEARING US APART"
Exhausting. So hard to keep up with her moods. And that brings us to Lachlan and Rauth. The two most frustrating Alpha males I have ever read about. On the one hand we have, Lachlan. Sweet, in touch with his emotions, focused on her happiness, very smart and OBVIOUSLY ridiculously handsome. On the other hand we have... Rauth. Fierce, cold hearted, selfish, and just plain old dick-ish. I actually really liked Lachlan when he wasn't going along with Rauth's plans. When . Maybe I'm the asshole here, but I doubt it.
What just completely ruined it for me though was the ending. They all went through a ridiculous amount of drama just for Rauth to lose his shit. Proclaiming that HE is the alpha for the ENTIRE series and then he somehow acts like more of a grade A Asshole. Seriously, .
Long story short, this series was horrible. I love romance novels and, wouldn't you know it, I love steamy graphic sex scenes. This book had plenty, but I found myself just skimming them because I had already made it so far that I needed to know the ending. Which was also disappointing. Overall, this author is most definitely not for me.
I rate this series 2 stars because while I was able to finish reading it I will never waste another moment of my life reading anything else by this author. There weren't just plot holes there were plot craters in this series. Gwynn is supposed to be a reincarnation of sorts of Gwendolyn whom died in the 1300's, then it is revealed that Gwendolyn was her older sister, but then Lachlan will say something like 'you smell and taste just like her, you even talk and sound the same.' So a woman born in the late 1300's in Scotland spoke like a 21st century American woman? Yeah, totally believable. Not. And at one point Rauth tells Lachlan 'you know it doesn't work that way' when Lachlan expressed the wish to go back in time and keep the twins from being kidnapped. Why the F wouldn't it work that way when that is the entire premise of the book? Lachlan brought Gwynn and her 'mother' forward in time to prevent her from being killed by her father and then brought her back in time in order to help them win a war that they would lose otherwise and would ensure the extinction of shifters in the future. Don't write a book about time travel and changing the past to protect the future and then have a main character say time travel couldn't be used to save their children. That was so unbelievably frustrating. Then at the end of the last book Rauth, Lachlan and Gwynn laughing talk about how their daughter is old enough now to have 2 mates of her own. I understand the ménage relationship in this book was set up because they were co-alphas and had to be accepted by the pack as a single unit, blah blah blah, and I'm no prude (just look at my book list

The story is actually really interesting, combining time travel and werewolves. However, the characters drove me a bit nuts. There are three main characters - Gwynne, Rauth, and Lachlan. Out of the three, Lachlan was the only one I really liked. Rauth was a jerk from the beginning of the book, with only a few redeeming moments. He treated Gwynne like property most of the time, and also didn't seem to think she had many brains in her head. Gwynne was the mot annoying. She was completely spineless 90% of the time. She let Rauth walk all over her, even when he was being pretty awful to her. Evidently, Rauth's good looks made up for his personality. I would have enjoyed this series a lot more if Rauth and Gwynne were more likable.
A BBW who doesn't know she's a tame-walking shifter ends up in medieval England with 2 Alpha shifters who apparently are her mates! And there are all kinds of people/shifters trying to kill her! This is almost 400 pages of smoking hot, action-packed suspense, drama and sexy medieval Alpha shifters competing for the love & body of their snarky 21st century unknowing shifter-to-be, mate-to-be. Individually, all 5 novellas are fantastic reading … but together this set takes readers on a great adventure. I very highly recommend this reading experience and am anticipating reading more about this family!

Wow! This is one of the most captivating stories I have read in a while. The author has taken the shifter era to a new dimension which includes a bit of time travel and many unique characters and talents. Modern day Gwynne is looking for answers. She has recently lost her father, and her mother left when she was only ten years old, never to be seen again. She has left the shores of New England for those of England, and a small village of Trekilling, hoping to find the answers she needs for closure, as well as finding her roots. What she finds is whole other world, full of mythological characters and time travel, but wait! Are they truly mythological? And why have they been looking for her? Lachlan has been seeking his "lost love" for many centuries now, walking the ruins of Dundurn, waiting for her return. Not only is she his lost love, but also the key to the success of their pack and peace amongst the humans of the world in the future. But even if she does return, the question always on his mind will be "will she agree to their terms"? Intriguing, captivating, full of suspense, love, passion and pain, this book will have you feeling so many emotions you won't know where your heart lies at times. Beautifully written, the author gives us a tale we are not likely to forget. Definitely worth the read!
Paranormal shifter Romance it's both intriguing and sexy
Lachlan and Rauth are alpha dire wolf shifters are trying to save the shifters and humans in their time. They can travel through time through portals. Their mate, Gwyyne is from the future. She has traveled from America to the Cornish lands and her ancestors.
Lachlan brings her back to his time where the two Alphas must perform a ritual to save their people. Gwyyne take that two lovers to her bed. What she doesn't realize that this ritual change her into her dragon shifter.
There is a war going on between the wolves and another fraction which consists of bird shifters and a dragon, who is her father. Her father wants to kill her because he doesn't want to share his power. , The story continues with the characters, their personalities, the drama from the war, and the sexy interludes among the Alpha and their mate. Time travel makes the story work.
I initially had the series involving the daughter from this story in my TBR list, so I thought I'd better read the series leading up to that one first.
This was ok. I wasn't a huge fan of the characters, nor the way this story reads over the series. But it wasn't horrible.
This book is a five-part serial and is book one in the Alpha Seekers series. Gwynne goes to her mother’s homeland of Cornwall, England in her quest for answers and finds a startling portrait in a pub. The woman in the painting, the lady Gwendolyn, looks exactly like Gwynne. After she learns the local legend about the lady, a gorgeous man saves her life at the ruins of an old castle. Lachlan turns out to be a wolf shifter, and he knows more about Gwynne, her past and future, than he lets on. Though he gives Gwynne very little information and skirts around her questions, she decides to follow him through a time portal where she has to mate with him and another stranger in order to save the men’s pack. Lachlan and his cousin Rauth are co-alphas of their dire wolf pack, and they’ve been waiting a long time for their mate’s return. Lachlan loves her and has forsaken other women while in wait for her, but Rauth sleeps around and sees his future mate as a means to an end. Once Gwynne finally arrives in 1348, the men are ready to impregnate her, needing children from the union in order to secure the pack’s future. I liked Gwynne for the most part, but I don’t understand why she never demanded answers from her mates or why she let them lie and withhold information from her. Other than that, she was a strong, capable woman who adjusted to time travel and living with shifters very easily. Though Lachlan kept Gwynne in the dark about various facts, he’s still a kind and respectable man. Rauth, however, is arrogant, sexist, and rarely seemed to think about Gwynne as more than a tool he needed to use. Despite both men’s lies and Rauth not caring about Gwynne, she continued to sleep with them because the sex was incredible. I was confused about how Gwendolyn/Gwynne could be the same person. Gwendolyn lived, fell in love with Lachlan, and then died in the 1300s. Gwynne’s supposed mother (who is supposed to be pg with Gwynne) traveled from the 1300s to 1990, raised Gwynee for ten years, and then abandoned her. How can Gwendolyn/Gwynne be in two places at once, living two different lives, since they’re supposed to be the same person, not two people? Since Gwendolyn is dead in the 1300s, the men have been waiting for years for Gwynne to arrive at the ruins of Dundurn Castle sometime in the future. How long did they wait? As for the writing style, it’s written in third person and the POV jumps between several characters. Some words are spelled in British English, others in American English. There are some grammar typos which were a little distracting. Overall, I enjoyed the shifter wars, the erotic sex scenes, and most of the secondary characters, especially Freya and Ygrena. Gwynne’s children were pretty awesome too. The villain was appropriately evil and served well as the antagonist. 3 Stars

When I started this story, I had high hopes. The first chapter was really good as was the second one. Things progressively went downhill after the beginning though, which is definitely a shame because there is such potential for the story idea.
There were major plot holes and I wonder if the author had beta readers check the story for them, as well as judging character development and all that. If she did, she needs to get better ones! If not, it might be a good idea to get a few.
**Some major issues hidden behind spoilers**
I personally found there were a lot of issue with the story and the character development that may have been prevented if some good beta readers (who focus on things other than grammar and spelling) had had access to this story before it was published.
I finished this because I'm stubborn, and I had no other books jumping out at me. Also, it was free, and it was a bundle... meaning it was 'a book' instead of a series of chapters.
Anyway, it actually started really good. But after it did the whole 'let me think about this bizarre, life altering decision... I really must think about it', which is EXACTLY what she should have done. To then have her go 'yes please', with very few questions and then keep tumbling forth into further chaos (enter alpha 2) with still few questions, less answers and more disturbing commands... Well, it pretty much lost me. It could have been good if it kept any brains or integrity, but it was just a tumble they the cocks book with a little padding.
Now, I see this is a bit of a series one to the next series about the daughter in a similar double mating situation... but as half of this series was focused on how the double mating is not actually the way of the wolf and was never meant to work and was going to have to change and there was even a bit of a dig at her from one of the mates about it not being normal... until there was a convenient intervention, I'm not sure why they would even be considering it for their daughter. Or the whole 'ritual' thing, which was to activate her dormant side, where the daughter is not dormant at all, so again, why?
This series is one of the best shifter series I have read recently. It encompasses two worlds, modern England and 1300's England. Time travel, magic, and a woman awakening her own shifter. To awaken her shifter she had to take two mates, Dire wolf cousins and perform the ritual. Gwynne was born in New England, or so she thought. Her parents were not her birth parents and she was really born in the 1300's. She faces so much in her new life, it is almost as if her old life were a dream. She is the salvation for all shifters and this will affect the modern world if she fails to stop the Drake who is hell bent on destroying all the other shifters and humans for his own enjoyment. This is a definite must read for anyone who loves romance, shifters, and history.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story! I had read it before but I had forgotten. So... I read it again. A modern woman finds her destiny in the past. She finds out that was to mate a pair of alphas that are dire wolves then finding she is something unique. A dragon with a phoenix's abilities. In other words extremely powerful. Of course the villain just happens to be her father trying to kill her. Great writing strong characters and story with a little steamy tucked into it.
Hops between paranormal and erotica (a ménage in case the cover wasn’t a hint). None of the single “parts” are great reading and you really do need to read these as a set here for any of it to make much sense. At the end of the day, I just found the characters and storyline to be too one dimensional. As I read, one of the villains cackled in my head like a bad cartoon character. I’m certain that’s not how he meant to come across. That was the result, however. In some sections, spanned across too much time with not enough detail.
This book, or books as this is a set of books, could have been better. There is the basis of a good story in here. Unfortunately it is held back by the writing. Too often the author switches from the main character's view point to one of the two main male character's then back to the main character's in the length of one or two paragraphs. Which only disrupts the flow of the story. Worse she did this mostly during the more intense parts of the story, mainly the sex scenes. So the story is good, but unfortunately the writing style drags it down to only ok.
A good tale of a young woman brought back in time to mate with two powerful alpha shifters. The three must find compatibility, while struggling not to extinguish that which makes each the powerful individual that they are. Their relationship adds to the story's plot of defending the local human population and the shifters from another shifter who wants to rule all. Looking forward to reading the next boxed set in this series.
If you like a shifter/fantasy genre that is as predictable as it is unbelievable (even for fantasy), then perhaps this book is for you. I found it to be redundant and uninspired in its erotic passages. Additionally, it was poorly written in general, although I will say that the writing improved as it moved along. Without attempting to insult further, I will just end in saying, I’m generally puzzled by the ratings it has received thus far.
This story had potential but I was extremely disappointed. The dialogue was something to be desired. I also had a hard time with the characters, who were not developed well. Some of the wording pulled me out of the story and made it difficult to keep reading.
Thoroughly enjoyed this box set!! While I found some parts a little long winded I found that the adventure, romance, and general story was great. With dragons, wolves, Phoenix and crazy family, opinionated mates, and missing parents there is so in here. Glad I got the box set as you have a complete storyline...which leads wonderfully into the next one!!
This is not your average love story. This has two alphas sharing their queen, and everything else. Being alphas makes it difficult. And the queen is a time traveler, making her have a mind of her own. But I loved the story, and was disappointed when it ended.
This is amazing and can't wait to start second one about Lily. Wonderful balance of sex and action..I also love the change in point of view often happening. Just the author is amazing.
What a fantastic series this is. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the idea of this book or books was so different from anything I have read before. Carry on with the great work now I'm off to start the next book starring Li!!IANA.
Engaging, interesting and ... sexy. That you're treated to book after book is a change rather than a one book tease. The plot line is captivating enough to keep reading forward and the characters are enjoyable. I'd recommend it :)
Something for pretty much everyone. This series has romance, shifters & time travel. Follow our 21st century heroine as she discovers a totally new life in the 1300's .
Read the Complete Boxed Set as was free on Kindle as opposed to each individually; however, I added each individually on here (as well as together) because I rated them differently. I thought all of them together tended to make it drag on a bit.
