Drasin Knight is one of those books that made me realise how much I enjoy getting lost in a well-built fantasy world. As the second book in the Drasin Kingdom series, this one takes us deeper into the story through Lucian and Thalia, and honestly, their journey completely won me over.
Thalia’s story was probably one of the parts that affected me the most. Knowing everything she had endured since she was young and how much she had sacrificed just to protect the person she loved made me understand her character on a much deeper level. She may come across as strong and independent, but there’s so much pain hidden beneath that strength. Her character development was definitely one of my favourite things about this book.
And then we have Lucian. This man really stepped into his knight-in-shining-armour role and I am NOT complaining. What I loved most about him and Thalia was that their relationship wasn’t simply about one person saving the other. They became each other’s strength, supported one another and slowly built that trust between them. Their chemistry felt natural, and I genuinely enjoyed watching their relationship develop.
The world-building is another huge highlight for me. There’s so much more to explore this time around the different kingdoms, magic, political conflicts, dragons and everything happening behind the scenes. The fantasy elements made the story feel much bigger, and I could easily visualise the places and situations while reading.
One thing I really enjoyed was author Bella Chu’s writing style. Her descriptions are detailed enough to help me picture the scenes clearly, but the writing never feels complicated or overwhelming. The words are simple and easy to understand, which made it really easy for me to get immersed in the fantasy world.
And THE FIGHTING SCENES?? So detailed 🔥The descriptions made it incredibly easy for me to picture what was happening. I could literally imagine the movements, the surroundings and the intensity of each scene playing out in my head hehe. Especially during the bigger battles, I felt like I was right there watching everything unfold. The dragon scenes were definitely a bonus because… DRAGONS 🐉
I also appreciated how the story gradually reveals more about Thalia’s past and the people behind the conflict. There were moments that genuinely made me emotional, while others had me desperately wanting to turn the page because I needed to know what would happen next.
Overall, Drasin Knight was such a satisfying read for me. The combination of fantasy, romance, magic, dragons, action, political conflict and emotionally complex characters worked really well together. Author Bella Chu has created a world that is easy to immerse yourself in, and her writing made the experience even better for me.

if you love a green flag, green forest, the whole amazon forest guy, yep this is it. Lucian is the guy. plus the interaction between Thalia and Lucian is just sooooo cute! they have my heart 🫶
first impression from the introduction is ‘it’s giving merlin series’. genuinely i feel so excited sebab my favourite character from that series was Morgana, which was the misunderstood villain. and for me, Thalia is giving me that impression.
the main character’s background is strong. she and her nai was kidnapped, she was tortured since 8 years old and forcefully trained under her enemy. she was special, a hybrid and a serpent summoner - in which i was expecting her character to be super strong. she’s an assassin and she fought a dragon after all, in which she won the tournament.
meanwhile, the male lead is a knight. his father is a general in which he was trained since he was young. plus, he was sent as a spy to the enemy kingdom, Drasin for 3 years - where he met his fated one, Thalia.
however, reaching the end of the book, i feel a bit disappointed on how the characters turned out to be especially Thalia. despite having such background, i feel like her character was wasted just because the author wanted to include/highlight the romance. there were few parts where she was subdued and caught during her mission by Lucian whereas i just find that very frustrating, considering she fought a dragon and won. how can she be so easily subdued by Lucian without fighting? also when she was caught during her “bride selection’ mission by Lucian, hm i don’t know. i kinda expected her to be more sharp and smart? after all she was trained under Lanov since she was eight years old.
as for the romance, i just feels like the feelings between Thalia and Lucian feels forced. though there were parts that had me kicking and guling-guling because it was sooooo cute, but honestly i cannot deny that theres no romance build up. theres no tension, in which should’ve make me look forward on how the romance gonna unravel itself between them. in which, it had me question “this is how it is?” so for the next novel, i do hope the author create the tension and build up the romance between the main characters, slowly but surely so the readers can follow along and feel excited on what’s coming.
my favourite part of the book is the friendship between Lucian and Alaric and also Ethan. kudos for Bella Chu sebab i always ended up giggling whenever their scene came up. and i was even hoping for a longer scene, sebab its cute huhu. but i kinda wish theres a little more details on Jerico and Hector parts sebab by the end of the book, they do have a role. i just feel like its nicer if they were mentioned more so it won’t feel foreign and macam tiba-tiba sangat whenever they muncul.
sejujurnya, i wasn’t prepared for ethan’s part at the end of the book. cuma i rasa sayang sebab why that part was not in details when it was actually the most heartbreaking scene in the book. i wish the author let us explore more on that, so we can feel more and suffer more. but yep, still so sedih especially when Lucian broke down after reunited with thalia since only the two of them knew just how kind ethan was.
genuinely, i am glad i gave this book a chance. i will surely recommend Drasin Knight to my younger siblings sebab i know if i am still in my high school, this book is just chef kiss. i will for sure, love it so much. after all, i was once at the age of wishing for knight in shining armor on a white horse - in which i found all of that in Lucian. and only if you read the book, you will understand how much respect i have for the author to actually wrote this kind of book because medieval fantasy is not an easy story to write after all, peak imagination 🫶

The first book completely won me over, so it’s no surprise I went into Drasin Knight with sky-high anticipation and it didn’t disappoint. Bella Chu’s writing carries a sense of maturity that lingers beyond the pages. It is refined, composed, and effortlessly evocative.
Thalia is still such an intriguing presence. She’s closed off, a little elusive, and it makes you want to peel back every layer just to understand her better. There is a remarkable depth to her character. She is resilient in a way that feels both subtle and powerful to me. I dare to say she is one of my all-time favourite heroines.
The fantasy world-building in this book is also exceptionally well done. The way it is described feels so vivid and immersive that it’s easy to picture every scene unfolding in your mind. The storytelling is so well-crafted that the setting comes alive effortlessly, making it feel as if you are right there within the world itself while reading.
💯A solid five-star read, in my opinion.

Firstly, I wanna say congratulations to Bella Chu for her second child! And let me tell you—her writing and plot development for this second book has improved quite a lot and I couldn't be any prouder. You don't know how long I've been waiting for this book to come out and I was so enthusiastic when I got to read it for the first time!

Drasin Knight unfolds a story between Helena's older brother, Lucian, the knight of the Drasin Kingdom and Helena's friend, Thalia who was painted as as traitor in the previous book but is Thalia truly a traitor or was she forced to become one?
I used to feel betrayed by Thalia’s actions in Drasin Kingdom but her backstory revealed in this story just shifted my perspective and I find myself connecting with her. While Helena gives off very strong girl crush type and the fact that she grew up in family filled with affection made me wish to have a life like hers. But Thalia’s story has deeper emotional weight to it that hits much closer to home. The world keeps being unfair to her—she was being manipulated, exploited for her power and yet she continues to stand strong as if nothing could ever break her because all she wants is to protect the only family she has left—her grandmother, Nai and that what makes it hurt even more 💔
And comes Lucian, the knight in shining armor. At first, he’s just doing his duty, spying on the enemy to protect the kingdom’s safety but the moment Thalia catches his eyes, everything changes. He started to pay extra attention on Thalia. From planning to catch her doing suspicious acts to slowly catching feelings lol even he himself didnt see that coming and istg hes become uncontrollable when he starts to reveal his true identity and feelings to Thalia.
I can say that I didn’t feel cringe at all and enjoying Lucian and Thalia’ chemistry way more—a fiercely independent woman who doesn’t need anyone to save her and feels like she’s undeserving of love meets a man who would burn down anything that dares to threaten her safety—thats just cherry on top. But what makes it even better is that it’s not your typical damsel in distress cause Thalia is firm in what she wants and Lucian respects her for it. And it’s not just Lucian protecting Thalia, she becomes just as protective of him too (we stan protective strong woman *insert meme with one finger between the teeth*).
If you miss seeing Ghazi and Malik, they’ll be making cameos too, along with several new dragons (theyre very cute and funny). But this time i found myself especially attached to Thalia’s serpent, Syifa. I love how loyal and protective she is towards Thalia and how the author also goes into detail explaining her powers.
And during the battle to take down the enemy, Lanov and his Abid al-Shams colony, something happens to Lucian and Thalia (and prince ethan 🥹💔). And now that Thalia’s true identity has been revealed to Prince Alaric and Helena, what would happen next? Will they survive, save the kingdom and find their way to each other again?
Well i can’t spoil much cause yall have to read the book to find out. even if you dont like romantasy, you’ll enjoy this too. please trust me and go grab it now 🙂↔️

but before i forgot, theres one thing id like to highlight—no matter how hopeless the world may feel, a day will come when love, kindness, and happiness find you at the end of the darkest tunnel just like how Thalia finds hers 🫂

Congratulations to my now favorite author, akak Bella! I've read the first book, Drasin Kingdom, TWICE! Therefore, I know I would also love her second child, Drasin Knight.
Personally, I would definitely rate the book 10/10 🌟! This is one more book that I want to keep on reading but at the same time I would feel bad if I ended it too fast. But I did anyway... In a few days..
So, let's go through one by one. It will be lengthy, please bear with me.
First, I wanna talk about the writing style, as in the language and words used. For me, it's perfect, very detailed, especially the fighting scene. I was definitely imagining the scenario hehe. Not only that, the words used are very easy to understand. So, saya menyeru, siapa-siapa yg teringin nak baca buku English, you can try these loves.
Second, the characters. We have our hero, Lucian, a dragon wielder and guardian, and also knight in shining armour. Then, we have our strong heroine yg I sgt lurve, Thalia a.k.a Alia, a serpent summoner. Also, the main antagonist, Lanov, a very cruel character. Each of them have their own distinct personalities which brought more colors to the story. Personally, I really love Thalia's character. She was forced to be strong since she was just a kid, just because she wanted to break free from Lanov and his crazy rituals, but in order to keep her Nai save, she had to become the villainess. My poor girl. Moving on to Lucian's character. He's a very honorable man. Not only he's loyal to his kingdom and family, he's also loyal to his new wife. And perhaps, some even overlooked his sacrifices. He was just a boy when he lost his mother, but he had to stay strong for his dad and Helena. Plus, how much pain he willingly endured just for his kingdom, family and people he loves. That's why I called him an honorable man. Next is Lanov. He's a very well written villain. I definitely hate him. I wish I could just go over to their world and choke him to death for torturing our heroine.
Third, the storyline. Honestly, since I've read the first book, I think it's easier for me to understand the flow. But, I'm not really sure for those who didn't read the first one. Since in this second chapter, the main focus in on Thalia and Lucian. So, certain events may be a bit vague and confusing for those who don't have clear context. But most part is fine because like I stated, we focused on the pair. So, they started as enemies but slowly got close and became husband and wife. Oh, and there are tons of plot twist too. I was shocked, okay! Like that thought didn't even crossed my mind. And there's also parts that I cried, laugh my ass off and so on. Let's just say I went on an emotional roller coaster the whole book.
Fourth, the main leads chemistry! Argh sangat lurve yer! The best part was there is no such thing as misunderstanding in their dictionary. Yes, both of them are strong, like hell strong. But at the same time, they care for each other more than they want to admit. You can actually feel how much they love each other's company too. Perfect couple of you asked me. Fated mates. Oh and they trusted each other. So so much ye.
Urm.. I think that's all from me. I am now patiently waiting for the third book. Fighting akak Bella!

Bella Chu did a great job in Chapter Two, especially in tying it back to what happened in Chapter One. It really adds depth, and you’ll find yourself enjoying the story even more—especially when you notice the connections between Helena and Alaric’s storyline.
I personally love how Bella Chu writes her characters. Lucian comes off as arrogant, but you can clearly see how much he cares for the one he loves. Thalia, on the other hand, feels mysterious and guarded, which makes you want to learn more about her.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading Chapter Two and getting deeper into their journey to save the Drasin Kingdom. And yes—Malik the dragon makes an appearance too!

I dont have and read the very first book from @bellachu but Chapter II really get my attention as I love Thalia and Lucian's chemistry. I don't feel any cringe with their lovey dovey words because their love towards each other looks very pure. Thalia who previously is a fiercely independent woman, do not need anyone to save or protect her but here's come Lucian, her knight in shining armor. Come to protect Thalia and save her with all his heart. They protect each other, they support each other.
The fantasy world-building in this book is honestly one of my favorite parts. Everything is described so beautifully and vividly that I could easily picture every scene playing out in my head. The world feels so alive and immersive, almost like I was stepping into it alongside the characters. I wasn’t just reading about the places they went or the things they experienced but I felt like I was right there with them, completely lost in the world the author created.
And I’m so glad we finally got to see the dragons in action, especially during the final battle. It was incredibly satisfying and such an adrenaline rush. And that plot twist leading up to it? I definitely did not see it coming!

This book highlights on Lucian Agana, brother of Helena who is a knight and best friend to Prince Alaris, the next heir of Drasin. Lucian has been on deep undercover at their neighbour country, Nimboria. A secret group lead by Lanov which is Abid al-Sham is trying to disrupt the coronation of Prince Alaris and invade Drasin.
Thalia, a new character introduces in this book is a citizen of Celestial Kingdom and had been kidnapped by Lanov, a ruthless Ninborian commander along with her grandmother Nai as leverage into blackmailing her doing his bad bidding. Thalia is a very strong lady surviving the horror and violence inflicted. I could hug her anytime for all the pain she had endured.
Lucian always thought Thalia is Lanov’s real daughter and planning to use her as weakness but later discovers the truth behind their relationship. I am invested with their interaction. We need a novella of what happens between chapter 59 and 60. The longing and how both of them build the life that they dreamed of is definitely going to be anticipated. Honestly, I'm still reeling over the book. There's so much things happened towards the end of it that left me with so much emotions and thoughts. Before reading it, I did not expect it to be better than I thought. I love the writings! I often forgot that this book is written by our local author while reading it. The world building with dragons and serpent in it are 🤌🏻💋 I freaking love it!
Thalia is built with so much fire yet tender at the same time makes her a really cool and loved character. She is so selfless even though people paint her as heartless and dangerous. Lucian? What else can I say about him but purrrfect 😩😍 While reading, I was wondering if Ethan ever got his own story, but sadly no ☹️ His character is so intriguing.
I still recommend to read Drasin Kingdom first before reading this book though. Even though it's a spin off, for me it still feels missing. The events that I believe took place in Drasin Kingdom in this book are usually in summarise form and that left me with unfulfilled feelings. I think the timelines between the two books compliments each other. Reading both would make you understand the storyline and the world building better.
Not that it wasn't good reading Drasin Knight alone, but in my experience it did make me confused sometimes.

had a hope for book 2 since the first one is a so-so for me, and it didnt dissapoint 👏👏
book 2 sits in the same timeline as book 1 but its more detailed about who's the villain, luce & thalia POV. patutla rasa book 1 macam 'eh gitu je?' explanation pasal who's the villain tapi rupanya ia diceritakan dalam book 2
cukup rencah. gelak,sedih semua ada. i can feel the tension between lucian & thalia as the one who shouldn't end up together but fate has another way
unlike book 1, idk if this is about the pacing or what but i think in book 2 baru boleh rasa flow cerita dari permulaan - rising action - climax - falling action and so on. buku 1 takde sangat
dan buku 2 ni bagi saya ada improvement banyak. takde dah dialog2 cringe, relying on telling too much and stuffs
the villain and the cult group idea was good too. didnt expect that
and the tension of lucian and thalia is CHEF KISS. KITA SUKA
and also i often find myself had to close the book because the plot is plotting. kita sukaa

Firstly, congratulations to Bella on her second book! I never thought that one of our local author can create a beautifully written fantasy world that involves magic, dragon and fae? This book indeed blows my mind as I finished it at a fast pace!
For your information, I didn’t read the first book. But, I immediately understood the lore of how the world works as the storyline and plot are easy to follow, eventho I didn’t read the first book. But, I’ll definitely get the first book to see how the author builds the world that I’ve known now.
Next, as a romantasy lover, I really enjoyed the enemies-to-lovers trope, potrayed in this piece. No other words can describe how curious I am to see how their love blooms and how strong their sacred bonds ties. And the ending? Definitely a great one!
Congratulations again to Bella for creating this masterpiece. I’m so proud of the idea produces by our very own Malaysian author. Please keep on writing and creating more world beyond our imagination!

aahhh, how i’ve missed reading about the Drasin Kingdom! now that i’ve finished this, i’m so happy to catch all the little references to the world-building from the previous book 😆 though i noticed the author didn’t elaborate much on certain things since this is more like an additional chapter to the previous book, told from another character’s perspective. hence, i think you definitely need to read the first book to fully understand and appreciate most of the references. also, i miss Helena and Alaric so muchhh!! i feel like Thalia and Lucian haven’t had as much fun banter as them 🥹 the fight scenes are also less frequent in this book, but i really like how the author attempted to write another story that connects back to the book she previously wrote 🫶🏻🫶🏻
p/s: you just have to trust Bella when it comes to writing a massive green-flag man and a powerful woman 😆 thank youuu, Bella Chu!! I’ll definitely be waiting for more of your work in the future 🥰

Sincerely to kak Bella Chu, i love u kak, sumpah!! such a beautiful story, how you connect all of those characters and between novels.. half novel and i think i need to restart and read both of the novels together. I always had my empathy for Thalia, even though i hated her in your first book. But no cap, Thalia and Lucian deserve each other 😭
