This book had potential…and I don’t say that lightly. I was really interested in the idea of a woman leaving a relationship not because of cheating, but because she didn’t feel seen or heard. That’s a layered, real conflict, and it had the opportunity to show what it looks like for a couple to rebuild trust, improve communication, and come back stronger.
But we didn’t really get that.
The story felt like we were dropped into the middle of something already in progress. I kept wondering if I missed a previous book, because the emotional foundation of their relationship wasn’t fully established. I would’ve loved to see more of who they were before the breakup…especially the FMC actually expressing her frustrations instead of everything happening off page.
Now listen… the 48 hour warning? Yeah, that was sexy…I’m not even gonna lie. But when she came back, nothing substantial happened. There was no real conversation, no unpacking of what went wrong, no accountability. I needed to see growth. I needed him to acknowledge his behavior…especially the controlling tendencies and show some level of self awareness. Without that, it’s hard to believe anything has truly changed. People are creatures of habit.
I also wasn’t a fan of how Alexis was used in the story. Her role felt underdeveloped and unnecessary…almost like she existed just to reinforce a point that didn’t need reinforcing. The same goes for the rapper subplot; it didn’t add much to the core story.
Overall, the book felt rushed. What could’ve been a nuanced look at relationship issues outside of cheating ended up leaning into familiar “alpha” behavior without a strong enough resolution to balance it out.
For me, it was just okay. The foundation was there, but the depth and development needed to fully deliver the story just weren’t.
It was…okay. A fast-paced second-chance romance. If you can even call it that, because they were barely broken up. And Dai folded like complicated origami the second Pryce told her to come home. I really thought she’d stand on business a little longer. Dai had me frustrated in the beginning. She dragged how long she held on to the secret and why she was keeping it.
Still, they were always endgame, and I can’t say the break didn’t work in their favor. I did appreciate the conversation where she makes it clear why she needed space and him actually owning his role in the breakup. After that, you can see him making a real effort to being more considerate, not just defaulting to control.
Overall, it’s a quick, easy read with some solid emotional beats once they get out of their own way. Not the most memorable second-chance romance, but it delivers enough to keep you engaged.
I’m confused. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Adai left Pryce without a word, right? She didn’t explain anything. Then later she’s talking about how he’s supposed to keep his dick in his pants… but she left him and started dating someone else. That logic didn’t make sense to me.
Adai’s actions were the biggest issue. She never clearly said what her problem was. It felt like she was looking for a reason to leave instead of just communicating. Everything was theatrical with her. She called Pryce selfish, but she was the selfish one. She left him to deal with a more attention-seeking rapper who gets constant female attention instead of just opening her mouth and telling Pryce what she needed.
Then the pregnancy. At that point, she should’ve went home and figured things out, the same way she came back when he called. Instead, she’s in another state being petty, trying to prove a point while pregnant. First trimester is critical, and she’s playing games. None of it sat right with me
To me, Adai was the controlling one. She knew Pryce loved her and kept playing on that instead of compromising or being honest about her issues. Whatever Pryce did wrong wasn’t even shown on page, but everything she did was, and it made her look bad.
I honestly didn’t like her. Pryce deserved better based on what was actually shown.
And let me say, we didn’t need Alexis or Trill to tell this story. What was even the point in having them. They weren’t even factors. The couple barely broke up. The first book was waayyy better than this one, and I really had high hopes for Pryce’s book. I don’t know, I was expecting something more unhinged. This just wasn’t it.
The story itself needed more backstory because all we got from Adai was confusion and mixed signals. It just felt like nonsense most of the time.
I stopped at 92% because it was obvious how it was going to end. They got back together. The end.
These so and so Sullivan men are the truth because explain to me how Pryce gave out a 48-hour notice as if he is the landlord. Mr. Grumpy, aka Pryce, did not play any games when it came to Adai. He knew she was his person, although he had a few character flaws that needed to be addressed. He recognized the errors of his ways and started working towards improving them. Meanwhile, he was loving on Adai, ensuring he locked her down. He is a true Sullivan because he loves hard and out loud, just like his cousins. Speaking of his cousins, the scene where he was "sworn" into fatherhood was heartwarming. They gave true, authentic, raw advice that will take him through not only fatherhood but the relationship itself. The happily ever after hits differently when two people know without a shadow of doubt they are made for each other. Pryce and Adai were that couple.
These Sullivan men have been real in every installment. They are businessmen with a touch of unhingement. The one thing they all are consistent about is loving their women. I'm looking forward to the next installment in this series. Hopefully, Enzo gets to tell his complete story next. We have just been getting bits and pieces of his story.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: I love me a Sullivan from infinity to infinity ♾️!
Pryce is my lil boo. He appears so stoic & calm, but baby, there’s nothing chill about the ish running through his mind. lol I love that he’s a lil bit mean. It takes nothing away from his heart & character. That’s a good man. Miss Adai is so lovable. Even when she didn’t make the best decisions, it was all love from everyone around her. I was proud of how she stood on business. Forgiveness isn’t always easy, & it can be a struggle to put your pride aside. But they were honest, accountable, & chose each other over everything else. Their differences are apparent, but they still complement each other. There’s balance.
I’d recommend this to the Book Babes who enjoy: MMC who runs a strict program. FMC who looks like a cinnamon roll, but will gather you if necessary. BDE by the boatload. a pinch of tension & angst. “it’s only you”/my person. + cousin antics, & loving family vibes.
Hmmm, a relatable love journey & storyline. However, it’s never a dull moment with the Sullivan family especially those cousins 🤭🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️‼️Meanwhile, “The Pryce of Loving a Boss” (The Sullivan Family) - Book 3” was a great read. Both Adai & Pryce had valid, legitimate relationship, desires, concerns & or issues. Intimacy, love & or tangible expression of love it’s not enough to sustain women. Rather love them according to their desires. More so, I appreciated the confidence & maturity of Adai to extricate herself from her relationship with Pryce to reassess & examine her priorities & principles before she resented Pryce’s affection & love. ….a beautiful couple & family (immediate & extended) 🥰🤩‼️
4⭐️! One thing I’ll say the Sullivan’s will have you laughing!
“I love you. And wherever you go, just know that a piece of me will always be with you to keep you safe.” -Pryce
It’s just something about a grumpy MMC! We know Pryce from when he towed Danae’s car for Aura, even that night he gave off “idgaf” & “leave me alone” but we get to meet him in a different light with Adai & when she moves & leaves him after a mutual breakup.
My boy was sick to his stomach to the point where he couldn’t sleep & he gave her 48hrs to return home or he was coming to get her 🤭. I loved Adai’s character, even though she did something that was really messed up, she was strong & understanding. I love how she had that heart to heart moment & talked about trying again but on different terms, shows growth.
I’m not going to give too much away but this was a hard read for me because I felt like Adai was doing the most. Pryce adored her and she wanted to create drama where there wasn’t any. Keeping the pregnancy news from him for 6 months was not cool and I just couldn’t get past that. So the whole time that I’m reading the book, I had my lips turned up whenever it switched to her point of view. However, Ms. Nai is a good writer, so she kept it interesting but I just didn’t think this storyline had any substance to it. I’m looking forward to reading about the rest of the Sullivans. A family tree would be helpful to keep up with all of them.
The second book in this series is still my favorite. This one felt like i was missing context even though we were given everything. Alexis and Trill were afterthoughts imo and their impact just to serve back and forth made no sense. Like why did we mention him saying that he was excited to be a father and then do nothing with that. And why would Adai even believe homegirl was pregnant. Things like that took me out of the story but it was still a great read. I will say this ending was more complete in a sense where the others just ended but I did think it could have used some juice. But I’d read this author again for sure
I read this book up so fast. This book was so good I was not expecting to read this book in one sitting. Alex got what she deserve playing stupid game when stupid prizes hello!! Oh my God trill!!! I am so happy that she did not deal with that fool. Adai is my girl, her and pryce made this book fun to read!!!they are definitely soul mates!! I love how he protects her and love her..
I really love me some Pryce! I think more than Aura lol. That 48 hour warning was something serious. That made Dai get her rump back to NYC! She had no business giving Trill lame self the time of day! I’m so happy for them! They had their space and then got back together. The Grinch changed and realized what Dai needed while she was gone. I’m ready for another Sullivan Family book!
Pryce wasn't playing no game when it came to making Adai come back to New York. Trill was so lame I'm just glad he didn't last to long. Man Key got Alexis together real quick because you don't play games like that. I'm glad Pryce and Dai were able to work out there differences because I knew the whole time they loved each other, they just had to learn how to get it together. I enjoyed this read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5|🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 This was really good! I enjoyed the plot and the characters. I did wish there was some groveling and a little more depth but wasn’t too upset because it’s a shorter story.
Overall the spice was good and the characters were funny. I would recommend! (Could be read as a standalone) 💖
I enjoyed reading this book. I wish it was a little longer but it was still good. I just love drauma lol. But this book is really cute and I would highly recommend it. Sometimes you have to leave to show people what their missing. If you like second chance romances then this is for you.
I’m on the fence. This 3rd installment was the only complete story. We spent a book and a half with Enzo & Thyri only to get no closure for them, the kids, Kori’s & Sr… nothing. Each couple should’ve had their own book, own conclusion and an epilogue. I really enjoy this author and her style of writing but this is where the series fell short for me.
Ohhhh this has become my favorite couple out of the Sullivan family. Pryce gave big boss energy and Dai gave “mane stop playing with me and get some act right”. Without giving the story away, I appreciated how she mostly stood on business to be heard and not allow her voice to be drowned out and dominated by his personality.
This book was so funny them cuz’s had me dying I love when I can read a book and feel like I’m in it too lol. I don’t care what nobody say Pryce is bae 😍 that man didn’t play his family and I love how they all stuck together. This was definitely a quick read but it was good. I hope we get a book for keys that’s my girl.
I got a small glimpse of Pryce in book 2, but now I know he’s just like Enzo. Sometimes people need space to grow. That’s exactly what happened with Adai and Pryce. I enjoyed the entire Sullivan family. They are all funny and protective of their women, it must be a Sullivan thing. Byeee fine shhhiiii
You know what I like em mean but Pryce, even his smile was grumpy and I was here for it. He was full of no nonsense my boy needed a coke and a smile though. Dai really was something. I was with her mama and Ebone because girl what do you mean you wasn’t gon tell the grinch? I had a good time with the sullivans and hope we get to meet more
4.5⭐️.. Loving someone just isn’t enough especially when the other person feels like they need to be in control. Pryce and Adai definitely were eachother soul mate but baby Adai pissed me off a few times with how she was moving
As always well done author!! Can’t say which one I love best!! Just make sure you read all 3!!!the sullivans are a great family. Just stay in your lane. They not to be played with!! N love like no other!! Must read!!
It's been 189 days, you have 48 hrs to bring yo ass home! Pryce my type of man! Lol him and Dai were something else. But he got is shit right on together, to get his heart back where she belonged. 10/10 I'd absolutely RECOMMEND!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was such a great read, fine shiiiiii! That man said that was long enough, they were going to figure it out together after this! I just knew he was going to make a quick trip lol. I need Kysiris next, pleaseeeeeee🙏🏾🙏🏾🥺🥺🫶🏽
Adai knew Pryce was it for her; even with his stubbornness. I loved their story and the changes they both were willing to do to make it. Loved catching up with the rest of the crew.
Nai, I love this family. To see Pryce growth was just amazing . I love how this family pulls together. The fact that Dai chose herself to have peace was the healthiest thing. Pryce is so hilarious though the Grinch turned into a puddle. I love your pen.🤗🤗🤗
This is how love suppose to be. Drama, loyalty, growth, family, understanding, compromising, and sacrificing. I enjoyed it all. Price understood the assignment once he understood his error and Ari understood 48 hrs.
Book leads with the breakup. She moves to Houston, predictable hidden pregnancy. The reveal, clean up of old flings, baby comes and done. This is a micro read. Books are well written just not engaging enough to continue the series.
The Pryce of loving a boss (the Sullivan family book 3)
I'm so glad she returned back home because I would have hated to see Pryce come get her. Happy couple and healthy baby girl. The Sullivan's where back together again.
That first chapter spoke to my soul. I had to pause for a minute to make sure somebody wasn't peekin in on my life. (lol) Dope Book ... I didn't want it to end. Now, I need more Sullivans in my life. 🤗
