"I fear that we shall never see another Tozer. Men like him are not college-bred but Spirit-taught." —Rev. Leonard Ravenhill Great leaders are rare. Those who pray fervently, worship fully, and walk in integrity—who see God big and depend on Him humbly—are those trained in the way of power. Such was the case for A. W. Tozer, and Tozer for the Christian Leader shows you what made him exceptional. These reflections, grouped monthly by theme—like prayer, the personal life, and worship—are ideal for any Christian leader. Absorb Tozer’s wisdom. Be marked by his conviction. Let his keen eye for spiritual things cut through pretense and show you truth. Read Tozer for the Christian Leader and discover the beating heart of uncommonly great and godly leadership.
Aiden Wilson Tozer was an American evangelical pastor, speaker, writer, and editor. After coming to Christ at the age of seventeen, Tozer found his way into the Christian & Missionary Alliance denomination where he served for over forty years. In 1950, he was appointed by the denomination's General Council to be the editor of "The Alliance Witness" (now "Alliance Life").
Born into poverty in western Pennsylvania in 1897, Tozer died in May 1963 a self-educated man who had taught himself what he missed in high school and college due to his home situation. Though he wrote many books, two of them, "The Pursuit of God" and "The Knowledge of the Holy" are widely considered to be classics.
A.W. Tozer and his wife, Ada Cecelia Pfautz, had seven children, six boys and one girl.
What spiritual lessons can a leader learn during daily devotions? In Tozer for the Christian Leader, Moody Publishers presents a 365-day devotional with A. W. Tozer. This is an inspirational book, and each devotion will take less than 5 minutes to read.
Compiled by Ron Eggert, this book is a blessing. Each devotional opens with a verse, contains an excerpt from Tozer’s extensive writings, and ends with a written prayer. While any leader will benefit from these writings, they seem best suited for those who work in Christian ministry.
A Daily Dose of Leadership Lessons
Each month focuses on a specific aspect of spiritual leadership. These include your personal life, the necessity of the Holy Spirit, pastoral ministry, prayer, preaching, worship, the church, evangelism, revival, failure and success, spiritual warfare and sin, trials and pain.
This book is an excellent source of inspiration, a treasure chest of interesting quotes, and a simple way to find spiritual insights. Get a daily dose of leadership lessons from the “twentieth-century prophet.” Learn from one who knows what it’s like as a leader in the pursuit of God.
I received a media copy of Tozer for the Christian Leader and this is my honest review.

My Review:
Tozer is a favorite in our family. We really enjoy his synopsis and sermons and his overall thoughts and quotes. It can get right down to the heart of it most of the time. Tozer was for all accounts and purposes a very great man to follow and study. Tozer had this way of pointing out the simple things that were wrong and he would cause you to look inside and reflect on what he said and apply it to your life.
I have a special person that I plan on giving this devotional to. This individual absolutely loves Tozer but I really think that the fact that this is a devotional of his work is the best gift I can give them. He speaks to us and he can speak to the leader in us, as well. The devo is long enough for the entire year. Passages are short and sweet, usually only lasting a page long.
Based entirely on Scripture each entry is an entry addressing leaders in the church community. A great gift this holiday season for a minister or seminary student.

Many good truths and considerations for any Christian not just leaders in the church. Each day was short which is good if you don't have a lot of time, but almost too short for getting the full impact especially as Tozer has so much good to say.
So let's just start off by saying I am a huge fan of A. W. Tozer. I have been since I was like thirteen. I picked up one of his books after being told time and time again I needed to read something by him and was glued from page one. The words roll off the page and speak to the soul. I love, love, love, Tozer's works. And then when I saw a year devotional had been compiled I was like, heck yeah! This is a fabulous book, I really can't say enough about it. A lot of Tozer's works have been compiled, recompiled, etc, and as a result many books can have a smattering of the same thing, which isn't a bad thing. But this particular title is aimed towards leaders in the church and it's quite the book, let me tell ya. If you haven't read it, you need to. I know I've been raving about it. Literally, when I saw that Moody was putting out different Tozer books my mouth dropped open and I'm pretty sure I screamed. So, yeah, read it, it's a gem.

Christian leaders are at the vanguard of movements. They are looked up to by their followers. They set the pace at which people grow, learn; mature. However, the leader who does not learn and grow will be a leader that will, at some point, fail those being led.
In the book, Tozer for the Christian Leader, works of A.W. Tozer have been compiled to challenge leaders to remember the source of their strength and wisdom: God. Each day is set to remind a leader of the vitality that comes from God and His Word. To ignore God is to set in motion a leader's own downfall. Thus, this devotional is an excellent resource to remind leaders of why they lead and who leads them.

In all my years of attempting to follow a yearlong daily devotional, this is the first one I have completed. Though many of the passages are directed towards those who find themselves in pastoral roles of leadership, the insight provided is quite valuable and centering for lay people, as well. My only point of contention comes by way of the fact that the daily scriptures were written in King James Version, an outdated translation that I found distracting and confusing to the point of mentally checking out as I read them. The scriptures should never be something we check off as we read, and yet this became a pattern time and time again.
I love everything written by Tozer, but this 366-Day Devotional built around Christian Leadership sure does inspire with one gold nugget after the next. I will read and read again such words of treasure inspired by the Holy Spirit of God. No, I did not wander through this in 366 days. This was so good I feasted on this in two weeks.
I was regularly amazed at the insight this devotional has had on my life. Tozer speaks as a prophet into my life and the state of the church, though a generation removed. I wonder what he would think of our current status.
An excellent devotional even if you're not a leader. Each page has a bible verse, an excerpt from his books and a simple prayer. A good intro to tozer for those who are not sure where to start
