I was gifted an early e-book of Rush, from the Author. This was for nothing more than my Honest Review. This review is my own and is therefore…. Honest!

What to expect
🔹Love triangle
🔹Age gap
🔹Forced proximity
🔹Pop star
🔹Self discovery
🔹Found family
🔹Banter
🔹Spice
🔹Drama

🔹🔹🔹My Thoughts🔹🔹🔹

RUSH- well this is a continuation from Collide. So if you have not read it, why are you here ? Go read it! Then come back!

Ok, firstly, I was undecided during book 1 if I was team Alex or Team Broderick, but now after reading Rush Broderick Has grown on me a little more! I mean he sounds like a dream, like literally perfection, Or is he too good to be true?

“I didn’t want to miss one of the most important nights of your life,” he says, eyes catching mine again. “So…I flew back. Just for tonight.”

Alex- that man is something else, was not sure of him in book 1 and now I’m questioning things, being in the public eye could there be more to him than he’s letting on! I am just not sure with this man!!

Even though Elena is still dealing with a lot I did enjoy seeing how her Character had developed within this book, seeing that unfold, was great. ! Her relationship with her sister was beautiful to see also. The bonding more, just beautiful.

I had giggles during some parts ,I mean let’s just say, locks., cactus, spiders, magically parts ha ha…… Then the spice, damn there was a lot! Let’s say Hot! I think there was something like 13 chapters of it 🥵

Riley, oh gosh I freaking still love her, she is awesome! She definitely needs her own storyline!

This was overall a good read. But WTF, that ending! Girlllllll come on!!

**Side notes**

Alannah can come out with some great lines ha ha. If u wanna know then, Read her freaking book!

ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED with the drama, the emotions, the banter, the relationships… AND DON’T GET ME STARTED ON THE SPICE 🥵. Legit screamed and threw my kindle AGAIN >>> This book resumes exactly where we left off in book one, so we get to see Elena wade through her grief, heartbreak and.. rebound?! Can sexy, tall, daddy Broderick be everything she needs? Will Alex come back? Will her career take off? Will i be able to handle the emotional whiplash?! FIND OUT IN RUSH

read if you love: banter • love triangles • size difference • secret sexcapades • he falls first • memorable side characters • sister healing • pop star shenanigans

TEAM BRODY UNTIL THE DAY I DIE. 🫡❤️
I'm sorry, but this man is absolutely perfect. No notes.
This was such a strong second instalment and I loved spending more time with Philippa and Riley. One of my favourite parts of this series is the female friendships, they're written so beautifully and are such a great reminder of how important your girlfriends are through all the chaos.
Now... because I'm heavily biased towards Brody (and I fully accept that 😂), I understood Elena's internal conflict and everything she's dealing with... but GIRL. I wanted to reach into the pages and shake her. Brody is RIGHT THERE.
This book also started pulling back the curtain on the bigger mystery lurking beneath all the romance and family drama. We only got little breadcrumbs, but they're enough to have my conspiracy board fully assembled because I definitely have theories about what's really going on.
The stakes are getting higher, the drama is escalating, and I am absolutely desperate to see how this all ends.
All I'm asking for is one thing...
Please let Brody get the girl. 🥹
Because this man deserves every bit of happiness in the world... preferably with Elena. 🤞❤️

A book worthy of getting you out of a reading slump… and then falling back into another because suddenly 600 pages have past and that still wasn't enough. You hope and pray for one secret chapter the author has yet to release.

Rush, the second book in Alannah Roberts series ‘Rhapsody of Heartbeats’ takes us back on our journey with our protagonist Elena, dealing with the recent heartbreak by actor Alexander, while also discovering feelings for rich hottie Broderick. Both characters we saw her fawning over in ‘Collide’ and yet somehow this author caused more yearning, more plot and more addiction to this series.

I was hooked from title page to acknowledgements. Every sentence dripping with meaning. Every scream, every tear shed, every moment these characters shared, I felt like I was right there alongside them.

The perfect book worthy of the playlist that is attached to the chapters names, the Spotify playlist on repeat, the songs I wish that I could hear truly performed by Elena Montgomery herself.

The perfect book for a cozy night in, a rainy day, a stressful morning where you just needed a 10 minute sit down.

A perfect book.

As a Team B girl from book 1 I feel like we have been well and truly FED by Alannah.
Rush has the perfect balance of dramatics, humour and spice and if you’re not reading it, you are missing out!
It was very focused on why Elena feels the way she does but she has me ripping my hair out especially in the later chapters! Her relationships all around were expanded on in such a realistic and tasteful way. My love for Riley has grown even more, she is the comedic relief but I really felt like we start to see the Riley behind the laughs.
Alannah well and truly knows how to write and has improved (even though she set the bar so high already) so much ready. Not ONE character feels flat, even Alex even though I cannot stand him 💚 respectfully. Deserves all the flowers for her talents
I’ll be sat and ready for Fall as I feel it’s going to be a rollercoaster.
Alannah really needs to be imprisoned for her criminal cliffhangers though💀

Who’s sending them yellow gifts… 👀🏵️

Respectfully, Broderick can ruin my life.

Alannah absolutely crushed it with the next instalment in the Rhapsody of Heartbeats second instalment putting me firmly in team Broderick.
The chemistry, the tension, the twists - I’m obsessed!

The tension between Elena & Broderick that was in Rush spills out onto the pages from the first chapter & had me turning pages until the end until I was like Alannah, why would you do this to me?!? I’m now staring at the wall questioning my life’s choice to bring me here

Rush had me feeling every damn emotion under the sun.
I was invested in Elena & Broderick like my life depended on it.
I’m definitely still not okay

If you love genuine romances where you could see the story in real life, you’ll love Rush.
Alannah, I’m sending you the bill for my therapy

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rush completely blew me away. The balance between the spice, tenderness, friendship, sisterhood, self-discovery, and self-doubt was executed flawlessly. Every emotion felt authentic, and every relationship—romantic or otherwise—added something meaningful to the story.

If you thought the first book was good, prepare yourself, because Rush is at least twenty-five times better. The character growth, the drama, the tension, and the emotional depth were all taken to another level. And that ending? Absolutely devastating in the best way possible. It leaves you reeling, desperate for more, and exactly where the author wants you—counting down the days until the next book.

If you’re looking for a contemporary romance filled with drama, personal growth, self-sabotage, forgiveness, found family, and characters you’ll become completely invested in, this series is for you. The trilogy may not be finished yet, but it’s already shaping up to be one of the best contemporary romance series I’ve read.

*Received as an Advanced Reader Copy*

I couldn't put this down. After speed reading book 1 (again, as a refresher; it didnt disappoint), I CRUISED through book 2. Just when I thought Elena turned the corner with her feelings, the love triangle prevailed. The spice is *chefs kiss* and there is clearly something that we weren't being told about between Alex and Madison. Broderick has the patient of a SAINT and should be rewarded accordingly, while Elena makes me want to wrap her in a hug and also shake her senseless in some moments. Riley and Pip are the real OG friends and I want some of my own.

The way this series will live rent free in my head until Book 3 comes out this fall, is unmatched.

Hot new bombshells are entering the villa as Elena’s intricate love story continues in, Rush, and it is just that…a total rush. It’s a whirlwind filled with more great banter, juicy drama, thick tension, good spice, and a dash of chaotic fun as lines start to blur. It’s an intense journey as Elena finds herself torn in different directions while she navigates her upcoming success and mends her broken heart. There are moments that are hilarious, swoony, and a little messy amongst these characters and I loved every second of it. I can’t wait to see how Elena’s epic romance concludes after that mic drop ending…who will she choose? 🫠

Thank you Alannah Robert’s for this ARC 🫶🏻

Whhaaaatttt?!?! Another cliffhanger?! Come on, Alannah! Jk I love you.

As with Collide, this book was very well written. The characters were complex and the voice was 🌶️spicy🌶️. Have to admit, I’m a little frustrated with Elena.

Did she grow in this book? Absolutely. BUT some of the choices she made were not my favorite, shame shame. Will it stop me from reading book 3? Hell no. Now I just have to wait for that one, too.

Great job, Alannah!

Firstly I would like to thank Alannah for this ARC and once again I devoured it whole!

Rush is probably my favourite 5 star read of the year (not sure how it can be beaten) and honestly I didn’t want it to end. It was the perfect pick up from Collide and I feel like my soul has been ripped from my body, the way this was written is phenomenal - it’s emotional, torturing and heartbreaking all at the same time. I honestly could not put it down! All I will say is Brody the man you are, I’ll take 14 of him.

I'm just so invested in this story! The ending of this book was DIABOLICAL!!! The writing is amazing as always, the banter, the spice...all top tier. The story is captivating and so entertaining....finished this book within 24hours! Obsessed with Brody....He's pure and deserves so much happiness. There should be no choice but I have a feeling that Alex will have a redemption arc in the next one though. I feel he did sacrifices for Elena that will prove his love for her as well. God the Mindf*CK!! I need book 3 IMMEDIATELY!!!

Rush by Alannah Roberts devoured my weekend in the best possible way. As an ARC reader, I went in expecting a ‘ruin-the-friendship’-romance and came out emotionally w.r.e.c.k.e.d. This book is chaotic, heartfelt, ridiculously addictive, and messier than any group chat (or Elena Montgomery forum) on a Friday night—in the absolute best way.

From the first chapter, I was hooked on Elena’s whirlwind life. She’s juggling heartbreak, skyrocketing fame, ruthless public scrutiny, complicated family ties, and feelings she did not sign up for. What I love most about Alannah’s writing is how effortlessly authentic everything feels. The world feels so lived-in. Throw in the social media posts, articles, graphics, and playlists woven throughout, and suddenly you’re not just reading—you’re living inside Elena’s very dramatic existence.

Spoilers ahead:

Hats (and pants) off. Highly, highly recommend this read.

Book 2/3 of the Rhapsody of Heartbeats series.

This is a continuous series and you must read Collide first.

I have been waiting for this book for months and it did not disappoint. If you liked Collide then you are going to love Rush. This a love triangle and normally that is not my thing but I couldn't get enough. The first book had me ping ponging between Alex and Broderick and I couldn't decide who I liked more. This book has a clear winner but I don't know if my heart can handle what is to come with book three. Did I mention the cover? *Fanning myself. Then there are the colors and aesthetics of both books... I feel like they are just perfect and fit so well.

Elena continues to advance her career and is really starting to make a name for herself in the music industry. While RISING to fame, she must confront her feelings of inadequacy and mend the relationships around her. There were times where her indecisiveness had me pulling my hair out but how does the saying go? The heart wants what the heart wants.

Then there is Broderick...The definition of "If he wanted to he would". He is more than meets the eye. He is selfless and generous (a generous lover *wink) and would give you the shirt off of his back. He loves Elena and will take whatever she is willing to give him even if its just scraps.

The banter and witty comebacks are off the charts. I love Elena and Riley's relationship the most. They are always there for each other and have each others backs. That is a friendship I wish that I had. It was also nice seeing the new and improved relationship with Elena and Phillipa. There is nothing like having a sister that you can look up to.

Overall, I can not wait to continue the story. It is going to be torture having to wait. I enjoyed everything about this story and I am hoping in the next book we see a little more of Riley and that special someone. I am intrigued on how the pieces are going to FALL into place.

Thank you Alannah for giving me a chance to continue in another successful book.

I am equally floored and delighted by where Alannah took me with this book. Rush picks up right where Collide left off, and trust me—you need to experience it for yourself. So instead of telling you what happens, I’ll tell you how it felt. Whirlwind. Heated. Addictive. The kind of highs that made me kick my feet in the air and the lows that made me want to shake Elena awake.

Growing up Filipino, I was raised on telenovelas. Then came contemporary romances, and now I live for fluffy romances with a heart. Alannah delivered all of it: the drama, the glamour, the yearning, the fluff, and the ache (headache, heartache, ache from down under iykyk). She creates an atmosphere so vivid it feels like you’re right there with them. And that love triangle? Oh, it tipped toward the side that MATTERS to me. No competition here, right Elena?! But where’s the fun in that? Alannah knows exactly how to make me sweat and beg for the safety of my team 🤭.

Rush follows our fmc as she continues living la vida Elena. And then comes Mr. Brody. This book left me swooning, raging, and completely in awe of the growth, the journey, and the found family woven through the side characters. Ahhh to be 23, chasing the breakthrough of a career while swimming with the sharks e.g family drama, media scrutiny, heartbreak. And if you want to ask me about the spice? 5/5 chilli peppers I tell ya.

This series just keeps getting better and better.

And that ending…

Rush completely consumed me because this book had me laughing, swooning, stressed, emotional, and genuinely losing my mind by the end, Elena’s growth throughout the story was so satisfying to watch as she slowly starts finding herself while still carrying so much pain, and her relationship with her sister added such a soft emotional layer to everything, but Broderick Schwartz… that man honestly stole the entire book for me, emotionally guarded and married to his work but still somehow the most attentive, protective, devastatingly perfect love interest, the chemistry and banter between him and Elena were unreal and every moment between them felt intense in the best way, while Alex still has me side-eyeing him because I genuinely do not know what to think about that man, and then you’ve got Riley bringing chaotic energy and making me desperate for her own story, plus all the random moments with locks, cacti, spiders and absolute chaos that had me giggling between all the emotional damage, the spice was hot but still felt meaningful instead of overdone because the tension carried everything so well, and that ending?? genuinely offensive, I was staring at the wall afterwards because how do you leave things there, now I’m just impatiently waiting for more because this series has me completely hooked.

Alannah has done it again. Written a book that has consumed my entire soul.

Rush is book two in the Rhapsody of Heartbeats trilogy so make sure you read Collide first!

This book has you sucked in from beginning to finish and has everything you need, banter ✅ spice ✅ an MMC who lays his soul bare for the FMC ✅ ✅ ✅.

A direct continuation of Collide, this book had me giggling, squealing and sobbing. Alannah’s writing grips you from the soul and makes you feel as if you are Elena herself. She manages to effortlessly have you sobbing on one page and breathless the next.

This book is wonderfully balanced as well, you’re not slugging through endless meaningless smut, the scenes have depth and feelings, and honestly I could write a whole damn novella on how perfect Broderick is both in bed and as a MMC but I’ll let the book speak for itself.

Overall, Rush is the perfect continuation of Collide that leaves you wanting more of not just Elena’s story but of everyone.

Alannah, woman. You are a queen and honestly I will be obsessing over your books for the next billion years. I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next.

P.S I need a spin off of Riley like 6 months ago. Thanks. 🤣

ARC review: Thank you so much, Alannah Roberts, for giving me the chance to read RUSH, Book 2 of The Rhapsody of Hearts. This is not a standalone, and you have to read COLLIDE before you read RUSH.

SOME SPOILERS

After re-reading COLLIDE & FLOAT, I couldn't wait to see if Alex had a redemption arc. RUSH continues where COLLIDE left off. While getting over her breakup with Alex, Elena's music career is on the rise, and she is getting ready for Phillipina and Andrew's wedding with Broderick, the best man. Elena is trying her best to get over Alex, and you know what they say the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else. Well, Elena & Brody become friends "who F like champions" with some ground rules to keep it casual. Sure, setting ground rules ALWAYS work in these types of things 😄

Now, I will say I did flip from Team Alex to Team Brody. Yes, he's a BIG guy 😉 with a heart of gold and a dirty mind, but when I saw Leon Bridges' Beyond on the SECOND mixtape, he made for her 😊❤️ 👏 I literally giggled, smacked my Kindle and kicked my feet.

MAJOR SPOILER AHEAD

RUSH ends on a cliffhanger (Madness indeed), and the finale FALL does not have a release date yet, and I am so excited. I can only hope we get an Elena and Brody HEA. While we all wait, possibly more from Riley and Luca, a holiday novella, perhaps 🎄??

OVERALL 4.75 ⭐️ 3.5 🌶

Rush by Alannah Roberts completely ruined my plans, my sleep schedule, and honestly my ability to care about real people for 48 hours.

I opened this book thinking, “I’ll just read a chapter.” Cute. Embarrassing for me, really.

Next thing I knew I was giggling, kicking my feet, whispering “OH MY GOD” at 1:37am, and emotionally attached to fictional characters who now pay rent in my brain permanently.

The banter? Delicious.
The chemistry? Illegal levels.
The tension? I aged three years waiting!

Alannah Roberts somehow wrote a book that feels like a warm hug and a personal attack at the same time. It’s funny, swoony, chaotic in the best way, and full of so much heart.

Anyway, if anyone needs me, I’ll be recommending this book to strangers, coworkers, and probably my barista for the foreseeable future!!!

I can’t wait for the next one!!

i can't even..... I was under the impression that Alannah wasn't going to leave me on a cliffhanger after Collide. And yet, here we are.....

1. Riley is still my spirit animal
2. How anyone can still be team alexander at this point is actually mind boggling to me. Broderick can take me wherever he pleases in whichever way he desires
3. The amusement park scene is absolutely a million times better than the aquarium scene (which also had me crossing my legsssss) and I feel like we need a 'float' like rendition of that from the parks POV (maybe stuffed animals in stalls that are prizes for games or something - I don't know I'm not the writer here)
4. THAT ENDING THO!!!! Riley is gonna be SO pissed when she finds out.
5. WHERE IS HE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I'm struggling and I require book 3 to be immediately in my hands. I am not ok.

Oh my goodness! This book is just so good. Starts where book 1 left off and I don’t even know where to begin. I do not want to spoil anything with my review so will just rant and applaud this book.

I feel like my emotions were put through the ringer. I was happy and laughing then in other parts felt like my heart was ripped out. But I just could not put this book down.

There is growth and also a live triangle and even though that is not always my go to read, I mean why choose am I right?, this is written so well and I am just enjoying so much.

Are you kidding me with that cliffhanger? I cannot wait for the next book!

Alannah. Alannah. Alannah. What have you done?! 😭

Rush is the continuation of Collide and wow. I loved how much we got in this book, it felt like the perfect length (although… if only there was one more chapter, because girl…wtf was that 😅). So much happened in the plot, and SO much spice!!! But what really stood out to me was how real, raw, and relatable so much of the emotion felt. The heavier moments were balanced so well by a strong, sassy female character and some genuinely funny one-liners that had me smiling and giggling.

This was truly one of my favourite romance reads in quite some time!

Another epic cliffhanger! I didn't want it to end!

Once again Alannah Roberts has pulled me in with unique and eloquent writing. The descriptions and relationships are written in a way that captivates.

The turmoil Elena goes through is palpable. Riley is there as her ride or die, injecting humour and always supportive. There is complex family dynamics and then there is Broderick...

It's a rollercoaster of emotions as these characters grow and develop. The tension is brilliant and the spice is divine. I am being deliberately vague so I don't spoil anything but this is a must read.

I need the next book ASAP!

Well i am floored.
Directly following the events of Collide we are thrust into a world full of bad decisions, flashing lights, lust and heartache.

When I say this was a ride... it was like the steepest rollercoaster that makes your stomach drop, and hit your throat at the same time.
You're equally rooting for Elena's happily ever after, and simultaneously want to throttle her.

Alannah this was such a masterpiece, I fear I'm going to continue to spiral until Fall comes out.

Please read it and crash out with me.
