Such a sad story of so many troubled souls. My heart truly goes out to Kamina and Tasha because neither of them deserved what they got. The story had a lot of characters that linked up in one way or another so paying attention was a must to stay on track. I somewhat felt sorry for Darnell and his story is common even when all the evidence is right in your face....eventually he snapped!! Everyone else....got what they deserved.
There was so much turmoil, pain, and death in this book. I felt some type of emotion for all of the characters. I felt so bad for Darnell, Kamina, Renae and even Vinitra towards the end. I could not stand Brandon or Sherise lol that's how you know a book is good...when you're ready to punch the characters!
Wow. I have a mixture of different feelings after reading this one. The stories are not far fetched and really believable. You just wouldn't expect all of it in one book.
This book was the shit....I love the fact that it had a moral lesson behind it. Instead of the same old gangsta/ dope boy and hood love that desperately needs to be the last those of us who know about the hood need to hear. I honestly get tired of folk trying to glamorize the hood, there is nothing glamorous about the hood except the women that try so hard to lockdown dopeboys.... Only to find out they (ain't ) worth shit.
Such as sad story each person in the book dealt with their demons in their own way. Some caused the pain they went through on themselves such as Brandon and Sharese. One of the most touching books I have read in a while. I really enjoyed. The author did an amazing job.
This was a good read that kept my interest. I especially like the fact that you think the book is ending but the story carries on. The connections of the characters were amazing. Unfortunately, there were some sad moments as bad things happened to good people. Some of the characters I think got off too easy, as I would have liked to see them suffer more.
Kamina’s life was kind of hard growing up knowing your mother is in a mental institution. Then her father gets her mixed up in his mess. Darnell was such a sweet guy to bad Sherise messed that up. Lux and J money got what they deserved.
This story was touching and a real eye opener. The way young girls live there lives today is a disgrace. The men have no morals and will do anything to get what they want. A lot of things should have not been said is an understatement!!! Great read
Great sad read...this book kept me interested. However there wasn't any happy ending. I just kept getting so frustrated with characters they really should have known better
