Kallie Clark was ten years old when she met the dark-eyed stranger on a lonely road.
He should have been a warning. Instead, he became her secret.
She keeps coming back.
No matter how much time passes, no matter how far her life takes her, she finds him waiting in the same place. Unchanged. Watching. Like he has been waiting for her.
With Finn, she feels safe. Seen. Understood in ways no one else has ever managed.
And that is the most dangerous part.
Finn is a felon with a violent past, a man hollowed out by years of silence and things he can't undo. The only time he feels anything is when Kallie finds her way back to him.
She is the one thing he should never want. And the one thing he can't seem to let go.
The closer she gets, the more the truth begins to surface. About Finn. About his past. About the darkness that follows him.
Because it isn't gone. It isn't finished.
And if Kallie doesn't walk away soon, she won't just lose her heart to him.

One Impossible Moment is the story of a young girl named Kallie who is in and out of foster homes. She is lonely and has no connections to anyone. When she is 10 years old, she walks down a road where she meets Finn. She is immediately drawn to him but she's a little girl and he tells her to go home. When she's 16, she finds her way back to Finn and the strange town where he lives. This time she wants to stay but the town is no place for a sweet, innocent girl like Kallie, so he sends her away again. She spends the next 4 years trying to find her way back to him which she does. Overall, the story was slow and a little boring. I also wasn't convinced with the romance. I found Kallie desperate to have a family and to be loved. Finn was ok, we aren't given much information on him. The mystery of Everstill is never told, and we are left wondering what the town is. Now with that being said I do plan to read Moe's book at some point.
This is my first ARC review and I'll be as honest as always. This story is different than what I'm used to from this author in that it has a paranormal twist. I mostly read DK's motorcycle club series and really liked the last one, especially Just Heartbeats.
OIM is the intense love story between Kallie and Finn. Kallie has had a rough upbrining with a drug addict mother, living in & out of foster homes, and never feeling loved or wanted. When she finds herself in a strange town at the end of a road, she meets Finn and that's where it gets really interesting. Finn is a much older man with a violent background and a big secret. As always, these characters seem so real in their intensity; the love between them is heartbreaking and joyful at the same time. You cheer for them to defeat every obstacle throughout.
I can't tell much more without ruining the story, but suffice to say that this book kept me interested from beginning to end. I'm not sure how I feel about paranormal, but I'm interested enough to want to continue the series. The story ends on a HFN because we still don't really know what's going on in that town where Kallie and Finn met, or how safe they really are.
One Impossible Moment is the first book in a new series about the mysterious town of Everstill and the men who reside in it. We meet 10 year old Kallie, a foster child who only wants to be loved and have a home. She likes to take off from her foster homes and explore the area. One day she finds a weird town and meets a very much older man named Finn, who is shocked to see her. She leaves and comes back again when she’s 16, and Finn still looks the same. When an adult Kallie is just living her life, she tries to track down Finn and his town everyday, knowing that they belong together. I enjoyed this book and all the twists and turns. It has a slight sci-fi feel to it, which is different from what this author usually writes. The connection between the characters was real and you could feel the love they had for each other. I’m looking forward to reading more of this series and learning about the town and men that reside in it.
Have you ever wanted a redo? Ever wanted to be able to stop time? Maybe it isn't everything you thought it could be. Finn and Kallie both have a different thought on that until circumstances bring the uncertainty to them. Can a love survive a trip through time and a veil into a realm of suspense? Finn will do whatever it takes to keep Kallie safe from his life. Kallie will never leave Finn behind.
I've been reading Debra Kayn since her first published books. I particularly enjoy her MC biker books, but this one had a bit of a paranormal aspect to it. A rift in time, but not a full time-travel story. I loved Finn and Kallie, and the double setting. Can't wait to see where this new series goes.
Kallie meets Finn at a difficult time in her life, when she's vulnerable and lonely. He becomes the only person she feels she can rely on, but he's warned her he is a dangerous man. Yet she can't help but try to get back to him! One Impossible Moment is a moving and spellbinding tale of love and redemption.
Supernatural, kind of like the show “From” where people can’t leave the town. It was okay. Of course there was a huge age gap, made even bigger by time standing still in Everstill. Kallie seemed repressed and not exactly well rounded. Whereas, Finn had lived a life. Made their coupling a bit icky.
We learn about Kallie's background but nothing of Finn's other than what he went to jail for, not why. The town is still a mystery. I feel this book just set up the series. I think Kallie wanted love and Finn wanted to get laid so being a couple worked for them
Well the ending wasn't what I was suspecting, thank you Moe!!! The last few chapters kept me on the edge of my seat. Very good read and looking forward to Moe's book.
