I've been reading some life changing books lately. This book by Justin Jones-Fosu, is short and packed with one gem after another. It's a modern day retelling of the Tortoise and the Hare but told from the perspective of the Tortoise and how he got to the point of winning the race. I received the audiobook as an advanced listening copy. Justin reads his book with such passion and emotion that you can't help but tear up at certain points while reading this. This is another book I will be buying and sharing with friends.

While this is geared towards a business and work life audience, this story is a great personal self help book. If I could have had this thirty years ago, I think my life and career would have been a lot better.

Know someone who's struggling with burnout and chronic exhaustion? Who's chasing the hustle culture too much? Who's seeking approval and applause at every task and meeting? Who's looking for that validation that we all struggle with? Well then this story and book is for you.
The last part of the book is a guide to how to work this into your everyday life and work life. It's also a pitch for business teams to get coaching or hire him to speak. Hell, if I had a business I would hire him. I'm usually not buying extra stuff people are selling. But this pitch at the end was more for the business executive and leadership that is helping their employees to feel more warm and fuzzy. It really is a great tool for the individual just as it is.

Hands down one of the best self help books I've read in the last decade. I've read some wonderful 5 star ones this year, but this one is at a higher level. In fact I'm going to listen to it again tomorrow. This was just released on audio today 6-16-2026 I just bought a copy of it so I have it. He has other great books but this one is great moral storytelling at it's best.
