Bound After Midnight

Rate this book
Three novellas of paranormal romance. There is something about the darkness that liberates our deeper, more sensual desires. Combine that with the power of true love and you have a recipe for perfection when the heart gets what it wants, and the body is satisfied through carnal stimulation. The ties that bind are not always visible, the universal concept of love, not always seen clearly through the eyes of the wandering traveler. This is no truer than in the case of Solan, a warrior with an unknown destiny in "Finding Eternity." Wounded on the battlefield, his rescue by a vampire who yearns to be his proves to be too much for a man with no concept of ownership. "Cream on the Crop" is a rather tongue in cheek, yet powerful story about a strong willed woman of privilege making her own way in the country until a specter appears and shows her carnal delights through submission of more than just will. Demanding blood lust fuels our characters in "Hunter's Bounty," a tale of rescue featuring a very unlikely type of shape-shifter as love interest for our vampire heroine. Each tale weaves the intricacies of kinky sensuality, sensual romance and story enough to keep you turning the pages of this hot collection. Perhaps you, too, may find yourself lucky enough to be Bound After Midnight...

Sascha Illyvich writes dark paranormal romance and urban fantasy where morally gray characters navigate dangerous worlds—and even more dangerous attractions.

His books feature fated mates with complications, enemies-to-lovers tension, alpha heroes who aren't afraid to show their claws, and heroines who give as good as they get. Whether it's werewolf mafia enforcers, vampire outlaw MCs, or detectives hunting interdimensional predators, Sascha specializes in stories where the romance is intense, the stakes are high, and the darkness is part of the appeal.

When he's not writing about supernatural creatures falling dangerously in love, Sascha can be found smoking fine cigars, listening to progressive death metal, and contemplating which Burgundy pairs best with plotting a character's downfall.

Current series:

Wolves in the Fae Court (Fated mates dystopian paranormal romance)
Undead Souls MC (Vampire motorcycle club romance)
Shifter Spies (Fated Mates meets Spy Action)
Bound by Blood & Fang (Dark mafia paranormal romance) - Coming 2026
The Frequency of Shadows (Detective paranormal thriller) - Coming 2026

Bound for Eternity is an anthology of three paranormal romances. As with any anthology, the level of writing is variable, with two of the entrees really good, but with some errors in the third. The three stories were:

Finding Eternity by Sascha Illyvich
In the first story, a vampire saves a warrior who fights the “Outsiders”, but dies herself because he cannot bring himself to admit he loves and “owns” her. When he loses her, he realizes that just fighting cannot remain his purpose in life; when offered the option, Solan chooses life-which brings Katherine back to him as they are now both vampires.
The setting was confusing-it’s never clear whether we are in the past or the future and the “magic” further confuses the issue. While this is a “love conquors all” type story, I would have liked a clearer picture of the setting and what was going on.

Cream on the Crop by Margie Church
This was a much better read. Neha Thompson, daughter of a politician, wants privacy away from the spotlight, and purchases a farm for her and her two horses, not knowing that the farm is haunted. Jamaal Cooper was killed because he was a black man pushing for the rights of African Americans. Unlike most ghosts in fiction, he can materialize at will and be completely real. He is also a Dom and finds in Neha the perfect submissive. This one contains some hot BDSM action.

Hunter’s Bounty by Bonnie Sansom
This was another good read-and a really hot story. Vampire Lana is a tracker and is hired by Devon to find his sister, who has been taken by a coven of vampires. The two connect sexually, but Lana remains closed off emotionally. She knows Devon isn’t human, but doesn’t know what he is until he joins her in the final effort to rescue his sister.

Overall, this was a good book for anyone who enjoys paranormal romance.

Bound After Midnight is a collection of three erotic, paranormal BDSM stories from three different authors rolled in to one page turning book. All three authors are new to me and each has a very original voice. This collection is definitely something worth checking out for those fans of the genre that enjoy variety (the spice of life) and originality.

Cream on the Crop starts off a bit spooky and grows into an amazing tale of fate, love and proper use of a riding crop. Both characters (Jamaal and Neha) are different, in too many ways to mention. But no matter the differences. What is meant to be will happen.

In Finding Eternity I found myself a touch confused at some points. But as I continued the reading, I was able to piece together the story’s meaning. If any two characters were ever meant to be, Solan and Katherine fit the bill to perfection. A good vampire tale that has the possibilities of greatness. Actually, I would enjoy seeing more of these two and their life together 

Hunter’s Bounty is my favorite of the three. It satisfied everything one looks for in a short and kept me engrossed until the very end. Very original and exciting with enough sex to feed anyone’s appetite. I loved the chemistry between Lana and Devon. They were both completely kick butt characters and REALLY belonged together. I would not mind meeting Devon. He’s a definite treasure of a hunk!
