Reflecting on 25 years of travelling around the islands of Scotland, the author of this book recounts the time he has spent island-lingering, from Shetland and Orkney in the north, to Islay and Jura in the south. The author calls for a more considered and caring attitude towards these landscapes, their wildlife tribes, and the human communities which inhabit them.

Beautiful, empathetic descriptions of Scottish islands with due regard for their occupants. Lyrical and passionate writing that makes you want to get on a ferry. Although written at the end of the last century, there is little here that needs changing - for good or bad. Only the colour resolution of tge copious photographs let the book down a little. A fantastic Oxfam find.
