Jersey girl born and raised, April-Chrystal defines herself as a storyteller; from a young age, she was drawn to the creative life with a big imagination and countless stories to tell. Now she’s writing down her stories to share with you, starting with Cruel Summer.

April-Chrystal received her master’s degree in history from William Paterson University and her bachelor’s degree from The College of New Jersey. Her major was in communication studies with minors in marketing and graphic design. While attending undergrad, she studied abroad at the University of Sydney. She also holds 30 credits of coursework in psychology from Drexel University.

April-Chrystal loves her home in Morristown, New Jersey surrounded by family and friends. She is obsessed with her cairn terrier (just like the Wizard of Oz’s Toto), Susie. When time allows, April-Chrystal enjoys exploration, both near and far, playing field hockey, knitting, and reading.

We meet Georgie, Fearless and her family again. Georgie spends as much time with Fearless as she can. Unfortunately, on a walk to the creek, something happens tp Fearless
In dealing with her emotions, Georgie runs off to France with December as Stone gets settled in Seattle with her parents help. Benji comes home from school.
I absolutely loved all the twists and turns. I cannot wait to read the next book

Invisible String is a heartfelt coming-of-age story that explores grief, friendship, and healing with compassion and hope. It tackles the difficult topic of losing a beloved pet in a way that feels genuine and age-appropriate, making it a meaningful read for middle-grade and young teen readers.

While this wasn’t a perfect fit for my personal reading tastes, I can absolutely see why young Taylor Swift fans would love it. Every chapter title is inspired by a Taylor Swift song or lyric, and the story is packed with clever Easter eggs that fans will enjoy discovering. Even as someone who isn’t a Swiftie, I could appreciate the thought and care that went into weaving those references throughout the book.

The writing is descriptive, engaging, and easy to follow, making it an excellent choice for readers in grades 5–9. If you have a young Taylor Swift fan in your life who is navigating grief, friendship, or the ups and downs of growing up, this is a book worth adding to their shelf.

I do love this book so much! It is was touching and impactful makes me feel connected this story. I feel understood all people’s grief, isn’t easy for first time. Mahogany I love that girl who was sweetest best friend ever! I had small emotional moments in these moments some pages impacted me that I feel seen.

I do love how an author, called these dog’s name of Taylor Swift’s album songs plus the title of each chapter.

Writing style: it is easy read paced that I understand easily. This is perfect for people who isn’t first English language, or 5th grade to middle school. This is perfect for who want to read short, touching, and warm makes you want to cuddle dogs.

That’s my honest review that I gave four stars. Thank you for giving me opportunity so I read and share my thoughts review.

Taking the trip down the path to healing with Georgie was such an enjoyable ride in this book. Georgie is a young girl that has every bit of those teenage, young human emotions that are so difficult to grow through as you're learning to navigate life in general. Add in a devastating loss of the most important thing to you?? Gutwrenching.

You're guaranteed to feel all the feels when taking this journey with Georgie. It's a wonderful coming of age story of how difficult it is to deal with life and loss in those late teen early adult years.

This is a great series for teens learning to deal with emotions and friend relationship struggles and loss.

Book 2 follows Georgie on her path to healing is both moving and deeply engaging. She embodies the full spectrum of teenage emotion—confusion, hope, frustration, longing—and her journey becomes even more powerful as she faces a heartbreaking loss.

The book delivers a compelling coming-of-age narrative that explores how difficult it can be to manage grief and personal growth during the transition from adolescence to adulthood. I found myself feeling all the feels with her as it was relatable and brought back my own life changing memories as a teen and even in adulthood.

I was not prepared on how this book touched me emotionally. April’s writing made it seem that I’m side by side with Georgie as I read this book. I related to Georgie in many ways. Being a teenager was already a challenge within itself, but going through grief drives another wrench in the complexity of growing up. For those who have experienced the loss of a loved one, grief is dealt differently by the bereaved. Dealing with thit isn’t always going to be the traditional way. It’s a sweet, and heartfelt story that may teach us a life lesson as well.

This book does deal with pet loss so if you’re sensitive to pet loss, this book is not for you.

This book had me captivated from the beginning and as a swifite, I love the use of her songs throughout the book and how the dogs were based on Taylor Swift songs as well.

Getting on a plane to Paris is CRAZY BEHAVIOR THOUGH but I also get it because grief makes you do some crazy things for those you loved including pets.

Georgie pulled me in right away and kept me there. What I loved most was how specific and real it felt, from the Taylor Swift details to the family dynamics and Georgie and Stone’s relationship. It all felt warm, personal, and genuine.

I wish I had this book back when I was 19 years old when I loss my spirt cat Smokey James this is something I would love to give to anyone to help them with the loss of love one or even a fur baby.
