When Cozy Mystery author, Patti Benning, isn’t busy plotting the deaths of multiple fictitious characters, she loves to spend time hiking with her rescue dog, Max, who is her bestest writing buddy.
Patti loves to cook and the food in her books has been tried and tested in her very own kitchen. She’s technologically shy, and stays away from social media a great deal, because it makes her feel more awkward and introverted than meeting someone face to face.
Writing is the perfect job for her because in her books, she gets to explore all the topics she loves, food, animals, crafts and reading. She loves her readers dearly, and is thankful for the opportunity to share with them through her work.
Bridget had a lot on her plate training a new store clerk and now dealing with the aftermath of the murder of one of the people who’d been asking to get back a consigned item that’d been sold and the consigner was already paid. Someone else in town was acting strange as well and when Bridget along with Lachlan finally figured out what was going on, they found themselves facing a killer who wouldn’t hesitate to kill again.
The showdown with said killer was a nail biter but it was great how that perp was taken down. Meanwhile Aunt Agnes had given Bridget some unsettling news which makes me more curious than ever to learn more about her. I hate to hope for her return because that probably means the series would be finished. I’ll just have to be patient but that Agnes is a real puzzle, lol.
Lots of twists, turns and questions. A customer looking for an item that has been sold, but no indication as to why its important. A new employee that Bridgett isn't sure is going to work out and her aunt stating that when she returns from overseas Bridgett will not only be out of a job but also a place to stay! So many unanswered questions, dilemmas and chaos. The next book should be very interesting indeed.
Just when you think a nice object has nothing to do with a murder. Well guess again. Good thing cool heads helped with this. But there is still the problem of needing a new job and place to stay in a few weeks! Yikes! Her aunt isn't letting her stay..
In this recent story in Patti Benning’s Nightsmith Novelties series, a music box that was consigned to Bridget’s aunt’s store becomes a troubling issue. The owner’s family comes looking to get it back, but it’s been sold. What’s so special about it? Also why does one of people looking for it end up dead? Can Bridget, with a little help, figure it all out? A perfect quick cozy mystery.
