From Amazon bestselling author Nicole Fox comes a STANDALONE billionaire, office, mafia-lite "Beauty & The Beast" x "Indecent Proposal"
My boss is in love with me. I’m in love with his dad…
Five years. That’s how long I’ve worked at Lazarev Global. I work myself into the ground to make life easy for my boss. Even if that means I have to reject his advances. I just need this job too much.
But I don’t mind the long nights or the endless overtime. Not when it means lingering in his office… And catching glimpses of the man who truly owns this His father.
The real Lazarev. The one with the lethal smile and the reputation no one dares speak aloud.
I thought my boss was scary. But when I find out his dad is in charge of something way darker, I realize I’m in over my head.
During a charity auction, they get into a bidding war over a date with me. The hammer slams. Five. Million. Dollars. And just like that, I’m going on a date I will never forget…
BOARDROOM SINS is an interconnected STANDALONE novel set in the world of the Lazarev family. You don't have to read the other books in the series to love this one (but it definitely doesn't hurt)!
Billionaire hero Age gap romance Love triangle Auction romance Morally gray, scarred, silver fox bad boy Mafia-lite Boss/employee office CEO romance Forbidden love / forced proximity Grumpy / sunshine Untouched heroine Possessive/obsessive alpha male "I Can Fix Him" Only Soft for Her
Nicole Fox writes smart, sexy mafia romance novels. She is a crazy cat lady in her late 30s with a coffee addiction, an overactive imagination, and a husband who somehow puts up with her impulsive need to keep buying new plants for their house.
Rae Everette works for the CEO of a major company and he drives her beyond reason until one day he comes back when she is working late. He attempts to seduce her, almost overpowering her when they are interrupted by her bosses father, the real boss.
Before she knows what happened, her desk is moved to the fiftieth floor out side the office of Lukas Lazarev, the owner and ultimate head of the company. She is given a raise in the exact amount she owes the rehab facility that her brother is detoxing in.
I would like to say that this was romantic, but it was just weird. There’s a lot of hot and cold between the two main characters as well as inconsistencies in their reactions. At about 62% it gets scorchingly hot, then weird again. It seems to have a happy ending, but overall this book was very disappointing. Two stars for the well written spice.
DNF 52%—- this is long and drawn out with so much repetitive internal monologue I just had to Give up… there were parts that were interesting but literally nothing is happening… and we have to read the same scene 3 times because we get the h’a POV then next she retells the whole scene to her bff then we get the H’s pov… and to make matters worse NOTHING IS HAPPENING!
First book by Nicole Fox and definitely NOT my last… I was genuinely surprised in the best way ⭐⭐⭐⭐ We’re talking mafia / billionaire / office / age gap romance 😏🤩 Rae Everett has been working at Global Lazarez for five years, and for the last 18 months she’s been stuck as the assistant to Kir Lazarev—a complete nightmare of a boss. No boundaries, no respect for her time, her energy, not even her birthday… But Rae can’t afford to lose this job, no matter how bad it gets. So she takes it. All of it. Way more than she should… until one night, when everything changes and Lukas Lazarev steps in—moving her to the 50th floor 👀 And Lukas… he’s a whole different story. Powerful, controlled, intense. A man shaped by his past, carrying secrets that are dangerously close to the surface. Torn between what he wants and what he must hide… but how long can he really resist? Highly recommend this beautiful story 💔🔥 Because Mr. Lukas? He’s EVERYTHING—big, intense, fire and ice… and that self-control? dangerously attractive 🤭😏😛
She was never supposed to want the man who could destroy her.
Rae lives in survival mode, keeping her head down, her feelings buried, and her life stitched together with work, loyalty, and sheer force of will. Wanting the wrong man is dangerous enough, but wanting one who is older, colder, and more damaged than he lets anyone see pulls her into something darker than attraction. Once Lukas Lazarev turns his full attention on her, control starts to feel intimate and obsession starts to look like protection.
Lukas is the kind of man who owns every room he enters and still feels haunted inside his own skin. He doesn't know how to want gently, so every instinct twists toward possession and restraint, even when what he feels for Rae is painfully real. As old secrets press closer and the pressure around them builds, their connection stops feeling like an escape and becomes the one place where neither of them can keep lying to themselves.
Rae begins the story emotionally clenched shut, but being with Lukas forces her to stop treating desire like a flaw and start choosing what she wants instead of only enduring what life demands. Lukas begins as a grief-ridden man who hides behind control, but loving Rae strips that down and forces him to face the difference between possession and devotion. Their relationship shifts from forbidden tension and power imbalance into something obsessive, intimate, and psychologically raw.
This is an ultra-steamy, age gap, workplace romance with a morally gray billionaire, grumpy sunshine tension, forced proximity, and a possessive streak that cuts deep. At its core, it's about what happens when forbidden desire collides with grief, guilt, and old damage, and whether two wounded people can choose honesty, intimacy, and each other before fear ruins everything.
The Elevator Pitch: An overworked assistant gets pulled out of her careful, survival-driven life and into the orbit of a colder, older man whose power hides grief, violence, and a hunger he can barely control. What begins as forbidden attraction inside a ruthless empire turns into a dangerous unraveling, where obsession and tenderness keep trading places and every secret pushes them closer to the edge. As family loyalties fracture and buried truths begin to surface, she has to decide whether loving him means losing herself or finally stepping into a life that is fully her own.
Lukas (MMC) is CEO of a major corporation, which is also a front for the Bratva. The portrayal of the Bratva is only lightly touched upon. This novel speaks of the two interlacing but doesn't focus fully on the Bratva as a storyline. His son, a secondary yet important character in the game, Kir, and Lukas seriously clash due to past problems. Lukas meets Rae (MFC) through her boss, Kir. The fireworks between them begin.
I very much enjoyed this novel, even more so because it was a stand-alone. So enjoyable! It's easy to get tired of hanging onto duets and trilogies in a series. This novel had the unexpected slow burn and the emotions it invoked I wasn't expecting, even though that portion of the plot I had figured out very early in. I hope for more of these stand-alones very soon. With that said, there were instances in the plot Rae should have packed up early and moved on. Did she so easily forget the grotto/pond incident? The horse? The red flags were never-ending. She just kept coming back for more. I couldn't help but feel Rae and Kir would have fit together after he recognized his wrongdoing. And why would she not forgive Kir? She did some pretty airhead things. What's another? Age-gap is not an issue for me, though this one hit too close to home for me, and I just couldn't help but do the math about how young she'll still be when he may potentially pass. While I did touch upon a few highlights to explain the characters' relations, I do hope it was not enough to ruin the read as some reviewers are prone to putting out play by plays. They just don't get it - don't offer an entire synopsis, so there is no point in reading the novel. *I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
There were a number of inconsistencies and typos throughout, this could have done with another edit.
This whole shebang started with Kir coming onto Rae and confessing his long-suffering crush on her. Later Kir exclaims that the reason his father is so besotted with Rae is because she’s a dead ringer for his deceased mother. The implications here are icky.
Also I thought Lukas was closer to 50, not 60 😅
Love that we glossed over (I.e. completely forgot about) the fact Lukas ordered Rae’s best friend murdered? 🤷🏻♀️ And that he was found innocent of a not-murder… but was never held to task for the lifetime of actual murders he definitely did commit? Honestly if you think about it too much, it all starts to unravel.
I actually don’t know what to say about this book. I finished it last night and I’m still struggling.
To start this book was LONG for what it was. The FMC is a 25 year old virgin and the MMC is 60 I believe. It was all over the place. Like literally nothing happened until like 60% and the MMC is meant to be Bratva and he’s an absolute golden retriever in the end.. it was just a bit meh if I’m honest
Omggg! Whole new meaning for a daddy. He gets what he wants even at th cost of his son. And what he wants is her. But his back story isn’t always what it seems. She has managed to break down all of his walls. This was such a good story!
MMC was an asshole who was obsessed with the FMC being identical to his dead wife (and dressed the FMC like her/in her clothes), FMC was a virgin doormat who was continuously helplessly aroused by an MMC who treated her like shit
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Let me fix this real quick: change age to 30, change relationship history to insignificant but actually there. Don't change MMC 180 at the 80% mark just so the HEA plot makes sense. Make FMC not insufferable. Nope.
This is a standalone age gap steamy romance between Lukas and Rae. There’s a lot of tension between them and a slow burn before it gets steamy. The characters were very well written and Lukas’s backstory is heartbreaking. Cannot wait to read the second story of the series.

This book was definitely a slow burn in my opinion. That’s not one of my favorite tropes. Nicole Fox is one of my favorite authors, and this book did have some high points but it’s definitely not my favorite of hers. Still a good read though, but not a duet like most of her books.

Rae has the weight of the world on her shoulders. Taking care of her younger brother after losing their parents, trying to make ends meet, and juggling her job as the EA to a powerful CEO…it’s a lot for one girl. The last thing she needs is more complication so when she catches the attention of Lukas, the CEO’s father, everything gets serious very fast. He’s darker, dangerous, and completely unreadable but for some reason she just can’t seem to stay away.
My girl Nicole is back with another banger and man this one had me on edge the entire time. There was so much push and pull between Rae and Lukas, and it really kept me locked in, constantly wondering what was going to happen next. It’s definitely a slow burn but you don’t feel it cause of how much tension builds along the way.
“I saw you, Rae. Only you.”
Let me start off by saying that I really liked Rae! She was so easy to connect with cause she’s just trying to survive, to keep things together for herself and her sibling, and that made her feel very real. I loved that even with everything stacked against her, she still had a backbone. She didn’t just roll over to Lukas or lose herself in the situation so yay for an empowered FMC. She’s used to putting everyone else first and it made it so satisfying to see her slowly start to have someone show up for her.
Lukas, Lukas, Lukas. Oh yeah, he was a tough one at the start, like I genuinely did not like him in the beginning. He was cold, hard to read, and I couldn’t figure out his intentions at all. But I think that’s what made his character work so well. His walls weren’t just up for Rae, they were up for us as readers too. And when he finally started to let those walls down, oh the shift in him was so big. Seeing that softer, more caring, almost reverent side of him when it came to Rae completely changed my opinion of him for me.
“We’ve stepped sideways out of time and space and found a safe little pocket that’s ours and ours alone.”
Their chemistry really builds over time which I appreciated so much. And that scene in chapter 54? Let’s just say I was fanning myself so hard when he talked her through it…I was not okay haha. I also really liked the dynamics of other characters, namely Kir. The relationship between Kir and Lukas added another layer to the story and made things even more interesting, I was so attached to this father son duo and just wanted them to desperately talk through their issues with each other.
And can we talk about how creative some of the writing choices were? The Apple Watch activity summary had me giggling, it was such a creative way of showcasing what Lukas and Rae were up to hehehe, very cute. And the epigraphs? I usually don’t pay much attention to them, but here I actually looked forward to reading them every chapter. Such a nice touch. This is what I’m saying, Nicole really went the creative and different route with this one, not only in the writing but also the fact that this is an interconnected standalone (which she normally doesn’t do!) and I’m really excited to see where she takes it next…especially Kir’s book, hit me baby, I’m ready!.
Boardroom Sins (Boardroom Billionaires, #1) by Nicole Fox
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Rae Everett has only been in her position as Kir Lazarev’s assistant for eighteen months, and she already might be the headline in tomorrow’s goss as ‘the CEO’s whore’. After a late night in the office, her boss has come onto her, and with only a college make-out session in her back-pocket, she finds her boss’ new wave of interest as a ‘highly-anticipated’ jump in her romance world. Yet, his new interest slowly becomes slimy and as Kir continues to put his hands on Rae, she is filled with rue. Luckily, Lukas Lazarev—founder of Lazarev global—saves the day, and disrupts the two from having a night of regret. Whilst Rae is embarrassed that the founder of the company has watched her about to have sex with his son. Lukas, just like his heir, finds the assistant interesting and intriguing. Hence, he moves Rae up to floor 50 and invites her to become his assistant. Yet, in the world of Boardroom Sins, an invite and threat are synonymous. Readers are taken through the tumultuous love story of Lukas and Rae in this novel, the extremities of the highs and lows are exciting and thrilling to read.
The suspense in this novel is like no other. Whilst mystery behind Lukas remains to be discovered, the Manhattan elite society exhibit behaviours that are questionable and readers only get a glimpse of it through small extracts at the beginning of each chapter.
Lukas and Kir have an interesting relationship throughout the book. The author makes is explicit that they are son/father, but diction such as ‘I should’ve taught him better’ and ‘I don’t share what’s mine’ confuses the nature of their relationship. It’s not until ending nears that readers come to understand the secrecies of the Lazarev name.
In the midst of all the suspense, Nicole Fox executes a comfortable humour that allows for fractions of respite. I am absolutely in love with the little extracts and entries at the start of each chapter, establishing context or humour to what can be a sinister, or lighthearted chapter. Nicole Fox is extremely intentional and relatable with her entry choices, that you cannot help but admire the way it pulls the reader back into reality when the story can sometimes get haywire.
As ending nears, emotions are heightened to an extent that is un-explainable. Nicole Fox articulates the concept of grief and love in a beautiful manner, where self-sacrifice feels almost inextricable to the latter. The audience witness Lukas in an extremely vulnerable manner, an emotion that is very uncommon in dark romances. Her articulation, diction and voice is consistent, mature, and never doubts the depravity of Lukas’ past. His honour to his loved ones is admirable, and Rae’s yearning for the man is heartbreaking. ‘Boardroom Sins’ is a classical example of intertwining mafia and contemporary together. The writing is rich and engaging, with plenty of human experience to pull the audience in—highly recommend.
I went into Boardroom Sins not entirely sure how I’d feel about a 60-year-old MMC and a 25-year-old FMC… but Nicole Fox made me believe every second of it. The tension was there from the start and never let up.
Rae's boss is Kir. But one night at the office things take a bit of a turn, and Kir's dad, Lukas steps in. As a result, Rae is reassigned to work for Lukas, the hardened, powerful, and always in control billionaire. But she slowly begins to unravel him. When he organizes her to be auctioned off for charity, and then publicly outbids everyone to claim a date with her, things only escalate from there. Watching Rae get to know the real Lukas, beneath the ruthless exterior, was incredibly satisfying.
I loved the dual POV, though I do wish we had gotten a bit more from Lukas’s perspective because those glimpses into his thoughts were some of my favorite moments. Seeing him shift from “Tenderness gets people killed in my world” to “Sweetheart, if you so much as shivered, I’d set fire to everything I’ve ever loved just to warm you up” was incredibly satisfying.
Rae was easy to root for. She’s spent her whole life taking care of everyone else, so seeing Lukas be the first person to truly stop and take care of her hit me right in the feelings. And the relationship between Rae and her brother Gideon added another emotional layer. Especially knowing what hard times they've walked through together.
Overall, this was a fast-paced, tension-filled, surprisingly tender romance that kept me hooked from the very first chapter. It wasn't heavy on the mafia business, but definitely check the trigger warnings. If you love age-gap romance, powerful heroes with hidden soft sides, and page-turner pacing, this one is absolutely worth the read.

Rae has worked hard at Lazarez Global as an assistant to help fund her brother's rehab and her living expenses since her parents' death. On her birthday, her boss Kir, demands she work late doing research for him. Reluctantly, she agrees even though she';s not happy about it since she needs the money and cant afford to lose her job. She is stunned when Kir turns up about midnight and starts making advances towards her. Fortunately, his father, Lukas, shows up and admonishes his son for his actions. Lukas commands a room when he enters and tells Rae that she no longer works for his son, but that she is to report to his office on the 50th floor and will now work as his assistant. Rae finds herself invited to the yearly Lazarez Charity Ball. Lukas tells her to go shopping for what she needs and gives her a credit card. Luckily, she has her bestie Jillian, who is also a reporter, to come with her. Rae finds herself put up for the auction, much to her horror. Kir makes a bid, but his father outbids Kir and another bidder. Rae finds herself dreaming of Likas and knows he is a bad man, maybe involved in some mafia stuff. She knows his previous wife disappeared and was never found. Jillian is trying to use her investigative skills to solve the disappearance of Lukas's wife. But will this put Jillian and maybe Rae in danger? Much as Rae dreams about Lukas and what he might do to her, he goes hot then cold, and she cant figure him out and what he wants from this relationship. Will Rae ever get the HEA she deserves? I received an arc from Booksprout for a voluntary honest review for NN Book Blog. If you love a Dark Age Gap Mafia Steamy Romance with lots of angst, then you will enjoy this book. However, this book may not be for everyone; therefore, heed the author's trigger warnings before reading or purchasing this book.
Boardroom Sins is one of those addictive reads that pulls you straight into a world of power, tension, and messy emotions and I was hooked way faster than I expected. It has that perfect mix of high-stakes corporate drama and intense romance, where every conversation feels loaded with meaning. The writing leans into that dramatic, slightly over-the-top tone in the best way, making it easy to just sink in and enjoy the ride.
Lukas absolutely dominates the story in that classic brooding, powerful way, but what makes him interesting is that he’s not just cold and untouchable. Beneath all the control and authority, there’s a constant sense that he’s holding something back, and it creates this tension in every scene he’s in. He’s sharp, commanding, and honestly a little intimidating but that only makes the moments where his guard slips feel that much more intense. His dynamic with Rae is where he really comes alive, because she challenges him in ways no one else does.
Rae, on the other hand, is such a great counterbalance. She’s not easily pushed around, and even when she’s clearly in a tough position, she holds onto her independence in a way that makes her really compelling. There’s a vulnerability to her, but it never feels like weakness it just adds depth. Watching her navigate Lukas’s world, especially when she refuses to fully bend to it, is honestly one of the most satisfying parts of the book.
Together, Lukas and Rae have that electric, push-and-pull chemistry that makes you keep turning pages. Their interactions are full of tension, miscommunication, and moments that feel like they could either explode or turn into something softer at any second. It’s dramatic, a little chaotic, and very entertaining. If you’re into romance that mixes power struggles with emotional stakes, this one delivers in a big way.
As soon as I saw that Nicole Fox had a new ARC available, I ran straight to download it. Once again, she has shown me exactly why I keep coming back, every single time. I swear, no matter how many mafia romances I read, I always end up right back here. Her books just hit the spot. Boardroom Sins was such an easy, addictive read. I flew through it, not realising how far I'd actually got. The whole corporate x mafia vibe made it feel different, but it was still very much her style, which I loved. The chemistry was evident from the beginning. There was so much tension, good banter, and that push-and-pull dynamic that Nicole always does so well. It was messy, a little chaotic, and just really fun to read. I was fully invested in them the whole time, even when they were being frustrating. I also really liked the overall pacing. There was always something happening, whether it was drama, tension, or plot twists, so I never felt bored. It had that classic Nicole Fox feel where you just keep turning the pages because you need to know what happens next. The only reason this isn’t a full 5 stars for me is that I do feel like some parts could’ve gone a bit deeper. A few emotional moments felt slightly rushed, and I just wanted a bit more development in certain areas to really make everything hit harder. I also feel as if he went from being rude and pushing her away to being gentle and completely wanting her in a whiplash instant. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this. It was addictive, dramatic, and everything I expected from a Nicole Fox book. I will definitely be reading whatever she releases next (as always).
“I just kissed you on live television in front of a hundred reporters,” I say. “I think we’re past the ‘walking-away’ part.”
Rae just wanted to do her job, preferably with fewer hours than her current boss, Kir, wanted from her, when she was accosted by him late at night. Enter Lukas, Kir's father and now Rae's personal saviour, as he not only gets Rae out of there, but he also offers her a different job with higher pay. Not that he gave her much of a choice. Lukas proves to be hot and cold when it comes to Rae, first seeming like he wants her around, then acting like she's a nuisance. So after Lukas bids five million dollars for one date with Rae, so Kir can't take her out, they end up spending a long weekend in France, where mixed signals continue. But Lukas has been accused of killing his wife, and just when things heat up between Rae and Lukas, he gets arrested as Rae's best friend was the one to break the news.
Rae and Lukas get their happy ending in this standalone book in a series.
Unlike many of Fox's other works, this one doesn't seem to be a duet and doesn't leave off on a cliffhanger of any sort. Yes, there is a big question as to what was going on at the end between side characters, but the main characters were happy and together, which was odd compared to the other books I've read by this author. I do wonder if Kir noticed that Rae looked like his dead mom at all, or if, because it had been eighteen years, he couldn't remember her that well. It would be interesting to know if there was any familial relation between Lukas' wife and Rae's family for the resemblance, or if it was purely coincidental.
I received an advance review copy from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the story of Lukas and Rae. This is an age gap romance with Lukas at 50 and Rae at twenty five years old. I’m not a huge fan of age gap romances but at least this author made her older than eighteen!
Lukas is a business owner and mafia and very, very dirty. He’s murdered and tortured and done anything and everything to get people out of his way and to ensure his own success. Rae is only twenty five but has seen a lot. Her parents died early so she had to take over care of her younger brother, pay the bills and keep a roof over their heads. When he falls into trouble with drugs and becomes an addict, she works three jobs to pay for his stay and treatment.
Then she gets a job with Lukas’ son Kir. It’s a hard job but she buckles down through all his antics and fits and stays until he corners her one evening and tries to sexually take advantage of her. Lukas catches him, stops him and immediately removes Rae to the fiftieth floor to work for him. And the trouble begins. Lukas doesn’t just want her to be his assistant… he wants her for himself.
This is a very good book so far. I am completely taken in by the characters and plot. This may be the best book I’ve read by Nicole so far. And I’m pretty sure, I’d like to punch Lukas and possibly multiple times 😂. What a d’ck he’s been so far! He’s been an unfeeling, stoic pr’ck.
Well, Nicole has changed my mind about Lukas. This was an amazing story all the way to the end. This is a slow burn romance and I wasn’t sure she could redeem Lukas, but she managed. There were twists and turns and everything wrapped up nicely with a HEA. Really good book and one I would definitely read again. 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Sometimes I stumble upon books being advertised on other sites, decide to check them out, and end up falling in love with the author’s writing, prompting me to buy more of their work. Nicole Fox is one of those authors for me. I expected an intriguing drama with mafia and dark romance, and while this story didn’t quite deliver the level of intensity I was craving, it kept me engaged with its entertaining romance and characters that were easy to invest in. If you’re after a lighter mafia romance with great chemistry and an addictive, binge-worthy storyline, this one hits the mark. Rae starts out working for her boss, Kir, but after a late night at the office takes an unexpected turn, she ends up reassigned to Kir’s father, Lukas — a hardened, powerful, and always-in-control billionaire. Slowly, Rae begins to break through his walls. When Lukas arranges for her to be auctioned off at a charity event and then publicly outbids everyone to win a date with her, things quickly escalate. Watching Rae discover the real Lukas beneath the ruthless exterior was incredibly satisfying. She’s spent her whole life caring for others, so seeing Lukas be the first to truly take care of her was touching. The bond between Rae and her brother Gideon added another heartfelt layer, especially knowing the difficult times they’ve faced together. Overall, Boardroom Sins is an engaging and emotional read with well-developed characters and plenty of drama. However, given its length, it doesn’t quite deliver the depth or resolution you might hope for by the conclusion. It’s a great pick for fans of angsty romances, though you may be left with a few unanswered questions when you turn the last page.
“Look, but don’t touch, they seemed to say. Dream, but don’t hope.”
I did not think it could get better… Boardroom Sins is my Favourite book written by Nicole Fox and that says a LOT since Ive loved everything so far Ive read of this author.
Boardroom Sins to me is one very-very complicated story wrapped up in a novel that would glue you to the pages and make you think about the people in it for a while longer. Ive loved the characters even when I should have doubted their "love-ability".. Rae is a wonderful person. I find no fault in her. yes she is human with flaws but overall she to me is strong in her silence and very very brave throughout. Lukas is a giant of a man in essence. You need to follow his character development. I'm NOT spoiling it for you. Kirill I would definitely say a product of his upbringing and I felt for him more than once. Jillian is a strange one… I have very mixed feelings. Here is where I would defer to R ae.. she knows her best. Gideon.. I LOVE that boy and I hope he gets a book. I think he would make a wonderful story.
Boardroom Sins is a Darker Romance but I found it had so many layers. The overall love and life story but one with layers of healing and trauma and so much more.
Lovely read and an easy 5 stars from me!!
ps: so many spicy gems xxx
*By Day 3, I’ve lost count of how many times we’ve done it. Somewhere between “a lot” and “girl, how are you still standing?”
Okay, so overall I did enjoy this story. It started off really strong but the age gap kept messing with my head. It was just a little to big for my liking. It made Lukas come across a bit of a creep and it didn't help that he was kind of a jerk for a lot of the story. The middle dragged a little because of that but the ending made it all worth it!
Overall I liked Rae. She was sweet and had a great personality. There were moments though that she really needed to be a little smarter. She saw red flags and just wrapped herself up in them. I wish she had questioned Lucas more and really stood up for herself. I did enjoy her sarcastic wit and found myself laughing at the things she thought up.
Lucas really pissed me off for most of the book. I was starting to believe he had no redeeming qualities when he finally changed my mind. I actually liked Kir and I wish the relationship with Rae had been reversed between Lukas and him. I could have gotten behind that dynamic much easier. Plus Kir showed some actual empathy towards Rae.
I will say that this book did make me cry towards the end. I was really surprised by how emotional it ended up being. It was the defining moment in the book for me because my whole perception of certain characters changed after that. I loved that it was a standalone and that the story stayed intense right up until the end. The writing was great and very descriptive. The humor is always perfectly placed and just right. I would recommend it!!
Normally love triangles wouldn’t be for me but this book certainly didn’t feel like it because it was clearly obvious who had Rae’s heart from the very beginning and that was Papa Lazarev.
Rae has been working for Kir Lazarev for quite sometime now and hadn’t realised that her boss harboured a crush so to speak on her, until one evening he makes it very clear. But his declaration is interrupted by the man who actually holds Rae’s heart and that is Lukas Lazarev, Kir’s father.
When Lukas sees what is unfolding he has Rae transferred as Kir’s assistant to his own. Now Lukas is a man who holds all his cards to his chest but one things for certain, he knows exactly what he wants and that is Rae. Since the passing of his wife 13 years ago Lukas’ heart was a hardened shell so to speak and he was quite surprised of the emotions that Rae brought out of him. The only thing that troubled him was more of less the age gap since he was twice her age but he soon got over this.
Lukas also holds quite a lot of secrets and it was due to these secrets that his relationship with his son was quite damaged, even to the extend that Kir tried to warn Rae away from his father.
I honestly loved this book the twists and turns and the couple’s chemistry was impeccable and the charity gala auction moment oh that was just the cherry on top🤭.

Power. Control. Obsession. And I enjoyed every second of it!
I didn’t just read this..I felt it. Sitting there wondering why I was so invested… and why I couldn’t stop.
From the first chapter, the tension is immediate and completely addictive. I told myself “just one more chapter”… and suddenly I was all in.
Lukas absolutely wrecked me. A man who’s denied himself for years finally giving in? The control, the quiet obsession, the way it slowly unravels…it’s intense in the best way.
And watching it all center around Rae? Even better.
Rae felt real. She’s thrown into a world far bigger and darker than she’s ready for and you can feel every bit of her uncertainty and pull toward something she knows is dangerous. I was rooting for her the entire time.
Then add in the son… The ego, the tension, the constant power struggle, it kept me on edge and completely invested.
But the real hook? The dynamic between all three of them. Messy, complicated and impossible to look away from.
The chemistry is consuming, the kind that lingers in every scene and builds until you can’t take it anymore.
✨ Age gap tension ✨ Forbidden office romance ✨ That “only soft for her” energy
I expected dark and spicy… I didn’t expect to be this emotionally wrapped up in it.
Boardroom Sins is the first story in the Boardroom Billionaires series. It is another amazing story from this talented author. Unlike most of her previous stories this one is a standalone. It is so well-written and I devoured it.
Rae is an administrative assistant who works for Kir. He gets drunk one night at the office and makes a pass at her. HIs father, Lukas, comes in and stops the situation. Lukas then moves Rae's position of working for his son to working for him. When Lukas decides she needs to be auctioned for charity things get very interesting when he and his son bid on her. Lukas doesn't back down.
The more time Rae spends with Lukas she realizes he is much more than she originally thought. She had heard rumors that he killed his wife. There is so much more to Lukas.
I loved the chemistry between Rae and Lukas. This was an amazing age gap story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I look forward to the next story.
Rae has the responsibility of taking care of her brother and needs the money to support his rehab. So she needs this job working as a executive assistant. Working for Kir has its challenges, especially when he makes a pass at her. Rae is naive when it comes to men and isn't quite sure how to handle it in the best way. Lucky for her Lukas stops it for her by turning up at the right time, but this is where it becomes more chaotic for her. Rae is now to move up to top level to work for Lukas and has no idea what she is suppose to do. Lukas and his son Kir have a difficult relationship that goes far deeper than any normal family should go through. Lukas and Rae's relationship develops to more than a platonic relationship but it is just what Lukas needed to overcome his past trauma. It is a different kind of story for Nicole Fox but as enjoyable as always.
