Paříž, hotelový pokoj uprostřed odpoledne… Tak začíná dekadentní příběh Annabelle, mladé společnice z Paříže, která přijme poslední práci před tím, než se stane ženou mocného a velkorysého muže. Louis si Annabelle absolutně podmaní a ona si uvědomuje, že pravá svoboda přichází, jen když se plně odevzdá touze… Hotel v Paříži je lechtivý, vtipný, odvážný, smyslný román s detektivní zápletkou určený čtenářům, jež hledají něco víc než jen obvyklý romantický příběh.

If I had to choose one book to read for the rest of my life, this book would probably be the one. Much like a lot of art-house movies, The Usual Suspects, Twelve Monkeys, etc. there simply is too much process in order for it all to sink in the first time. This is one of those books that can be read time and time again, with each consideration revealing more than the last.
Elle is finishing her degree in journalism and in order to make ends meet is working as a high priced escort, that also provides other “services”. She is also trying to save money to pay for the expensive treatments to pay for the treatment of her mother’s quickly progressing cancer. When she meets David, the friend of a client, her world suddenly begins to change. They begin a whirlwind romance and within a few short months, they find themselves engaged and ready to walk down the aisle.
David Barlet is heir to a fortune and as the head of a major communications company, is a very powerful man. He could have his pick of any woman he wanted, but when he meets Elle at a function one evening, he is immediately taken with her and is willing to do whatever necessary to make her his wife. When his brother Louie appears and takes an unnatural interest in Elle, things become interesting quickly and what unfolds is a history of secrets and lies, of which Elle finds herself right in the middle of.
Right around the time Elle meets David, a mysterious notebook appears in her purse. Then she begins to receive cryptic, handwritten, sometime sexually explicit notes from an anonymous source. Often, the notes are accompanied by a key to Hôtel des Charmes and she is instructed to report there at a certain time. She keeps the notes and begins to keep a journal of her experiences in the notebook. What transpires is a life-changing journey to self-discovery.
Hôtel des Charmes is a high-end hourly hotel, which Elle, as well as her co-workers, use for their “after hours” services. Each room is themed with one of the great seductresses in French history. Throughout the book, Elle is “instructed” in the art of letting go of her inhibitions and finding out what it means to be truly liberated. Every lesson is a different foray into a sexual practice or sense, whether it is the touch of another woman, being watched, or experiencing the touch and pleasure of a masked stranger. Each provides the reader with sizzling eroticism and Elle the chance to find who she truly is.
Ms. Mars has crafted characters that are multi-layered and beguiling. I was immediately intrigued by Elle and her fascination with the hotel and the women from which its inspiration is drawn. David and Louie were equally compelling and watching their history unfold was captivating. Every family has secrets; but the depth at which their secrets were buried and the ramifications they had on their relationship seemed insurmountable.
The storyline is incredible. Romance, mystery, and intrigue are all rolled up into an erotic saga. There are elements of the story that you never see coming and this is a page turner, through and through. At nearly 600 pages, I found myself finishing this in less than two days because I just couldn’t put it down. It sucked me in and kept me there and by the time I had reached the final page, I was left breathless and feeling hungover.
Five stars are simply not enough for this book. Hotelles is not for everyone; it is not necessarily explicitly sexual. A lot is left to the reader’s imagination and it is unquestionably more sensual than a lot of what is marketed as erotica nowadays. Hotelles is most definitely literary erotica in the vein of Anais Nin or D.H. Lawrence rather than the more contemporary E.L. James. If you are willing to engage your senses and lose your own inhibitions, you will definitely enjoy this book. I just wish my French speaking abilities were strong enough to read this in its original language. I can only imagine that it would make it all the more beautiful.

Initial thoughts were absolute intrigue because this trilogy is penned as an Erotic Romance, so right off the bat if that kind of thing scares you, just calm down. To be honest, this first book isn't super erotic, at least not compared to things I have read before. Which admittedly, makes me sound like a total book slut, but that's alright. While there are parts of the story that talk about masturbation, and it gets a little kinky once Elle starts receiving clues for her "assignments", it wasn't as erotic as I thought it was going to be.
Instead, it's a piece of literary loveliness. It's an entire relationship forming in the slowest way possible. Yes, the book clocks in at 579 pages and I am the first one to tell you that there are some sections that could be completely cut out to at least get this thing down to 400 pages. With that said, please don't give up on the book. Yes, it's wordy. Yes, there are parts of it that you think, "My life is wasting away right now reading this.". Yes, there are points where you wish the author would just get to the damn point already. But in the end, when I got to the last couple of chapters and I'm seeing how all of the sweeping story line, all of the back history, all of the psychological warfare is playing out, I rushed to the end. So much so that I went back and re-read the last three chapters just to be sure it really was everything that I was hoping it was eventually going to be. And it was. And I about died when in the last two pages, Elle discovers she's only gone through room one.
579 pages = room one?! That's it?!
Oh yes. Because it is a trilogy and you know that there is so much more for Elle. She'll not get a happily ever after just like that. Nope.
Another note I want to make is that this book reads very similarly to the book Vox by Nicholson Baker, which I read when I was 16. Totally not appropriate reading material for a 16 year old, let alone a virgin. But the handwritten notes within Hotelles reminded me of Vox, which is essentially a transcript of sorts between two strangers who start out having phone sex but turns into a telling of fantasies and such. It's very strange, but the entire time I'm reading Hotelles, that's what I'm thinking of. Also, it reminded me of L. Marie Adeline's book S.E.C.R.E.T. in which the main character goes on "adventures", each one pertaining to a lesson to further her sexuality. Which is very much what is happening to Elle in this book. So if either of those were good books for you, you'll probably enjoy this book on that alone because it's the same basis, essentially.

Докато пътува човек с метрото, едното забавно е да чете телефонната кореспонденция на екрана на другарчето до себе си, другото - да чете упадъчна порнографска литература, създадена от дами. Няма да навлизам в чуденки защо съвременната порнографска литература е почти изцяло плод на женска ръка, но ще кажа, че надушвам ниша за кеширане.
А, да - хотели, ема марс, пълен боклук до ниво нечетивно. Някак си успява да бие дебилизма дори на нюансите, та го спрях рано-рано.
Само ще кажа, че Уилма Флинтстоун причинява повече тръпка от образа на лирическата героиня, а аз си падах повече по Бети.
За стил няма да говоря, защото е сходен с този на нюансите, тоест - отсъства напълно. Думичките са бедни, бледни.
Описанията на цветното са като прожектирани на съдран от буря екран в лятно кино в Созопол.
Препоръчвам Жюстин на Сад инстед.

Jako jediný klad tohoto příběhu vidím v originalitě, kdy se kloubí erotika s historií, nápad je to zajímavý, ale bohužel, pro šest set stránek málo. Erotické scény jsou dopodrobna napsány, ale těžkým a nuceným stylem.
Příběh nezachrání ani hlavní hrdinka Elle, která je nejen sobecká, ale hlavně malicherná. Sama neví co od života očekávat a nedozví se to ani čtenář. Většinou stinné stránky příběhu zachraňují krásní muži, ale i v tomto případě autorka Emma Marsová zklamala. Nabídla nám krásu kompenzovanou násilím a vulgaritou a v druhém případě bláznovství a škaredost. Ženy čtenářky tedy nemůžou při čtení chtít, snít ani milovat. Bohužel je tato kniha velikým zklamáním.

Prvých 100 strán som vôbec nechápala čo sa deje. Potom som prichádzala iba na to, že hlavná hrdinka nemá žiadnu úctu k sebe samej. Namiesto toho aby išla nahlásiť prenasledovateľa, ktorý ju vydiera, ona ide na ďalšiu noc do toho hotela, aby si ju mohol znovu nahrávať a fotiť pri sexuálnych aktivitách. Pričom ona o tom vie a príde jej to vzrušujúce, ešte aj keď tie svoje fotky videla vyvesené na verejných miestach (kde podotýkam, môže to zahliadnuť aj jej snúbenec), cítila vzrušenie aj strach, ach.
Nepovažujem sa za feministku, ale správanie hlavnej postavy išlo proti väčšine ženských práv, za ktoré aj ona ako novinárka bojovala. Jednoznačne trpela Štokholmským syndrómom.
Nasledujúcich 300 strán bolo veľmi náročných. Nemám rada milostné trojuholníky a to čo sa dialo v tejto knihe.. Spáva so snúbencom, ale uspokojiť ju dokáže len budúci švagor. Hlavné postavy mi veru neboli sympatické.
Potom som si už na to zvykla a asi mi to bolo jedno, ale pred koncom mi aj slzička ušla, keď hlavnej hrdinke zomrela matka. Ale na to že jej matka mala rakovinu, moc sa o ňu nezaujímala, aj keď to neustále spomínala.. Kto nechá vlastnú mamu bývať samú v rodinnom dome v pokročilom/konečnom štádiu rakoviny, ešte k tomu keď má snúbenca miliardára?!
Koniec bol príbehovo konečne zaujímavý, keď vychádzali klamstvá na povrch.
Čo sa týka erotiky v tejto knihe, bolo jej dosť. Časti, kde objavovala samú seba a svoje túžby boli fajn. Keď sa však objavilo v izbe 12 dier z ktorých trčali údy, to mi už fajn neprišlo. Aj keď celkovo nápad s erotickým hotelom bol super. V každej izbe zažívala niečo iné, nové.
Nepovažujem sa za feministku, ale správanie hlavnej postavy išlo proti väčšine ženských práv, za ktoré aj ona ako novinárka bojovala. Jednoznačne trpela Štokholmským syndrómom.

To be honest, I started reading this book because of the quote on the front cover. For ONCE it was not comparing it to fifty shades of grey. FINALLY!
Hotelles starts at the end. Once you have read the prologue, you get to find out how Elle gets to her current situation.
The start was a bit slow for me and I was tempted to put it down and forget about it all together. Yet I decided to sick with it because I wanted to know what leads Elle to the situation that she is placed in. How will see cope? Will her secret be revealed in the long run? Yes there was a long build up in this story, but after finishing I felt it was all worth it.
If you're after a dirty read, this may not be for you. This is more for a sexual exploration of the main character and what becomes of her sexual awakening.
Also due to the book being a French translation some of the names and locations were very confusing. If you know Paris and surrounding area, I guess that this won't be a problem. However I did learn a lot about French history and their culture, so that is a plus.
I'm not sure if I'll read the next one. I honesty didn't know that were was another one. I thought this was a standalone. The way it ends it could be, but time will tell whether I read the next one or not.

Well written encompassing an array of genres. Full of twists and turns, heavy on suspense and mystery. A page turner with characters full of charm and intrigue pulling the reader further into the narrative. Steamy erotic scenes adding to the narrative in just the right quantity. The reader will be curious as to what happens until you reach the end. Mars did a great job on all levels, very unique spin on romance. This is book one in a trilogy, looking forward to see what unfolds in the future. Original and inventive.

Surpreendeu-me! No início não me estava a prender, mas depois começa a criar-se o mistério e surpreendeu-me. Se tirarmos os pensamentos da personagem principal (escrito num papel pela mesma), que demonstram que esta tem um sério problema (meu deus, está SEMPRE a pensar em sexo!!!), o livro tem uma história que me surpreendeu :)

Pa ovo je zapravo mnogo dobro. Uživala sam. Jedan od boljih erotskih romana svakako. Ali, ali zašto pobogu svaki erotski roman mora da se pretvori u špansku seriju? Da nije te drame u Rubi stilu dala bih i 5 zvezdica i svakako uživala mnogo mnogo više.

I was amazed by the ending. This book is full of surprises and mysteries revealed by the two Barlet brothers. Full of sensations, love and romance. But I hesitate to read the next part.

Voilà donc le premier tome de cette trilogie érotique dont la venue est soigneusement accompagnée depuis plusieurs semaines. La nouvelle est d’importance, voilà une trilogie érotique à la française. Enfin ! Nous allons donc découvrir le savoir-faire incomparable des Français dans ce domaine où ils ne sont pas bloqués par le puritanisme américain, les frilosités des autres. Le livre est déjà sortie à l’étranger dont les Etats-Unis, imaginez un peu... Le résultat est un bon gros livre de plus de cinq cents pages que je comparerais à un gros gâteau de mariage sur lequel l’auteure ajoute meringue, chantilly et pour bien faire, un panier complet de cerises car une ne suffirait pas. C’est donc très indigeste et une puissante déception. A mon grand regret...
Commençons par ce qui est réussi au moins partiellement. L’auteure sait écrire, sait ce dont elle parle, a visiblement potassé son Paris romantique et la littérature érotique. Le style est très travaillé, peut-être trop mais tout est « trop » dans ce roman. Entre quelques mots précieux, des tournures vieillottes, des subjonctifs imparfaits, cela fait très appliqué et malheureusement rend la lecture plutôt froide et ennuyeuse. Si je reconnais le travail de l’auteure sur ce point, je n’ai malheureusement pas été très sensible à ces passages littéraires un peu appuyés, suivis de dialogues au langage bien plus familier. Je me suis finalement ennuyée à force de détails très précis sur les quartiers de Paris où l’héroïne va vivre, ceux qu’elle visite, l’hôtel qu’elle fréquente et dont les noms sont ceux de grandes courtisanes. Nous avons ainsi droit à des leçons d’histoire, des anecdotes sur tel ou tel bâtiment, sur les amours de George Sand, sur ceux de Joséphine et Napoléon, des détails sur l’architecture.... Tout cela est terriblement long, éloigne du récit et de l’intrigue, au point que, par moment, on se demande où elle est perdue dans toute cette dentelle littéraire.
Celle-ci finit par s’accélérer aux alentours de la trois centième page et faire avancer ce qui est mis en place depuis le début. Annabelle Lorand est donc une jeune femme de vingt deux ans, étudiante en journalisme qui, face à de bien tristes circonstances doit gagner sa vie en entrant dans une agence d’escorts. Lors d’une soirée avec un de ses clients, elle va rencontrer un ponte de l’audiovisuel français. David est beau, riche, possessif, il la veut et elle cède bien volontiers, sauf que le monsieur est un peu bizarre, cache beaucoup de choses et qu’elle va rencontrer le frère de David, Louis ( ben oui Lui, forcément !), qui la trouble et va finalement jouer un rôle profondément déstabilisateur. Cela pourrait donner un roman sulfureux et trouble sur la concurrence entre deux frères avec comme enjeu une jeune femme qui se connaît encore très mal du point de vue sexuel. Mais voilà Emma Mars en ajoute encore et encore, tournicote tardivement son intrigue multipliant vraies révélations et fausses pistes. Ce n’est guère passionnant, cela arrive tard et cette fausse manière de maintenir le suspense est encore une fois bien longuette.
Ajoutons que les personnages sont antipathiques au possible, surtout cette héroïne, cette Elle, plutôt snob qui accepte tout de ces deux hommes pour des raisons inexplicables, qui reste fiancée à un homme qui visiblement est passablement dérangé ( autant que son frère !). Passons sur cette future journaliste qui ne rêve que de faire de la télé et de vivre à Paris, elle qui a grandi à Nanterre, la pauvrette, en banlieue ! David et Louis ne sont pas plus sympathiques. Bien-sûr, tous deux sont enfermés dans un jeu destructeur qu’on nous explique mais ils apparaissent plus inquiétants et en grand besoin d’aide psychologique que pervers. Emma Mars ne prend pas la peine de nous expliquer comment et pourquoi Elle tombe amoureuse de David et est attirée par Louis alors qu’ils ont vingt ans de plus qu’elle et franchement montrent leur amour de bien curieuse façon. On frissonne que le surnom de Elle fasse d’elle une incarnation de la femme par excellence !
Il reste l’érotisme... Très inspiré des grands textes littéraires du genre publiés depuis l’antiquité, le roman leur rend hommage avec lourdeur et insistance et donne donc des scènes de sexe où nous comprenons qu’Elle se cherche, attend d’avoir trouvé la bonne personne et en attendant, nous raconte, ses fantasmes, ses séances de masturbation...Il y a bien peu de scènes entre les personnages principaux. Ce thème hyper classique de la littérature érotique est livré dans ce style très travaillé qui rend tout froid. On peut éventuellement apprécier la musique des mots.
J’en terminerai en disant que le roman complique tout, met des flashbacks dans des flashbacks sans aucune raison compréhensible, ajoute les petites notes de Elle sur ses fantasmes et désirs divers... c’est touffu et vraiment trop. Il y a aussi les références désuètes. Ainsi David est comparé à Gérard Philippe ( qui connaît et mieux, qui fantasme encore sur cet acteur décédé en 1959 ?).
Vous l’aurez compris, ce roman ne m’a pas touchée une seconde, m’a demandé un vrai effort pour dépasser déjà les cent premières pages et je m’interroge sur le public visé. La publicité parle de romance érotique, il n’en est rien. La romance n’est pas le sujet du roman et finalement ce n’est pas le problème. Ce qui l’est par contre est qu’on essaye de le vendre pour tel. Il me semble qu’il s’inscrit dans un genre érotique bien précis et malheureusement avec un public bien plus limité que la romance érotique depuis une certaine autre trilogie. Quant à moi, j’attends encore la série érotique à la française car pour moi, ici, le compte n’y est pas.

Tak toto nebylo zle, cekala sem jednolinkovou hlupouckou patetickou limonadu a dostala i celkem napinavy eroticky pribeh. I kdyz ramec je stejny- mladinka studentka a bohaty zhyralec. Jenze Elle neni nezkusene devce, je kurva. Teda pardon, studentka (resp.cerstva absolventka) privydelavajici si jako spolecnice. Na vecirku se seznami s Davidem, bohatym medialnim magnatem, ktery ji po par tydnech chozeni pozada o ruku za tech nejromantictejsich okolnosti (jachta na Seine, uplnek...). Ale neni to popisovano romantickymi klise vyroky na X stran. Elle nepropada vasni. Coz neni jeji jediny problem, delsi dobu ji chodi anonymni vzkazy, zenskou ich formou psane eroticke uvahy a vzpominky. Nejdriv ji to pohorsuje, ale postupne v tom nachazi paralelu sama se sebou a nakonec sama si do denicku pise pokracovani. Aby znepokojeni nebylo malo, vezme posledniho klienta, aby mela na darek Davidovi. Jenze klientem je jeho bratr Louis, ktery s ni nespi, ale zacne ji vydirat svymi pozadavky. Rozehraje s ni hru, kdy ji zve za pomoci balicku s rekvizitou do hoteloveho pokoje. Kazdy z pokoju v jejim hodinovem hotelu je venovan jine historicke kurtizane, ona musi uhodnout, ktery to je. A tam ji Louis postupne uci ruznym rozkosim. Sam se neucastni a Elle se uci laskat sebe, jine zeny i muze a ruzne zpusoby. Sex je popisovan docela napadite, bez tristeni se v orgasmu na zarici krystaly;-) Louis ji zacina pritahovat, ale stale ji desi. Zjistuje vsak, ze sovy nejsou tim, cim se zdaji byt. Je autorem anonymu Louis? Proc ji Louis vydira, nebo to neni natlak? Je treba pred Davidem tajit svou minulost eskortky? A co Aurora, davna laska obou bratri, co pred lety tragicky zahynula? Jsou oba bratri rivaly? I kdyz odhadnete v ci naruci Elle nakonec skonci, tak posledni tretina ma celkem napeti a kazde odhaleni je prec jen podivuhodne. Tady mi teda chybel vic ponor do Elliny duse, jeji preletavost nazoru pusobila chvilema, ze nevi, co chce. Ac vzdy k rozhodnuti dospela po odhaleni kroku skladacky.
Mne to prislo zajimave, napadite, ale porad tomu neco chybelo. Nejaka jiskra, vzruseni. Bylo to proste takove francouzske:-D

This book was not at all what I was expecting… it was actually much better. Hotelles is a unique and gripping story that is richly and effusively detailed. Each room she enters is described from the baseboards to the ceiling, and while that sounds like it would be boring, I can assure you – it is not. I have a feeling that this author could make a weekly chore list sound enthralling. I was entranced with the story, which is actually more romantic suspense than erotic, although those erotic elements are there, but not as much as you would expect in a story about an escort. Hotelles is elegantly written and full of subterfuge, intrigue, niggling clues, and blind turns. I was fascinated and couldn’t put it down, and since the book is nearly 600 pages long – my addiction to the story caused book hangovers, red eyes, and a few added wrinkles. After reaching the end, I immediately turned back to the beginning and read the first few pages again, aha! Now I must read book two Elle, without delay!

Será este mais um romance eróticos desses que se encontram às resmas nas prateleiras?
Hotelle - Quarto 1 é igual a tantos outros mas com nuances que o tornam bem diferente e único. Rico em detalhes, isso é, um festim para os sentidos e não apenas nas descrições dos momentos picantes mas em todo o ambiente que envolve Elle e o jogo de sedução e intrigas em que se vê inserida. É majestosa a descrição dos quartos que compõem o Hotel dos Encantos e, pessoalmente, adoro as curiosidades contadas por Louis sobre Paris e as personalidades conhecidas.
O mais interessante é que Elle nem é de todo a personagem mais interessante, embora seja a principal. Para mim, o interesse está nos irmãos Barlet, cheios de segredos sobre um passado que Elle vai descobrindo a cada capítulo.

Apenas li até à página 75, infelizmente não consegui criar empatia com a história nem com as personagens. A escrita é leve e lê se rápido mas como o enredo avança e recua constantemente torna-se um pouco confuso.

Der erste Satz
Ich habe nie zu den Frauen gehört, die behaupten, alle Hotelzimmer sähen gleich aus.
Meine Erwartungen
Ich habe aus dem carl's books Verlag nur sehr wenig Bücher gelesen. Um genauer zu sein nur zwei. Eins von den beiden Büchern fand ich super und das andere grottenschlecht. Das kleine Problem ist, dass es "80 Days" war, was ich so schlecht fand und schon angekündigt wird, dass dieses Buch so ähnlich sein soll. Ich dachte ich gebe dem Buch trotzdem eine Chance und wollte mich damit davon überzeugen, dass es auch erotische Bücher aus dem Verlag gibt, die mir gefallen.
Ich habe erwartet, dass dieses Buch sehr dramatisch ist, weil Annabelle nun mal ein Escort-Girl ist bevor sie dem reichen, gut aussehenden und mächtigen David begegnet, der ihr sofort sein Herz zu Füßen legt und vor allem, weil sie seinen Bruder Louis bei ihrem letzten Auftrag begegnet und sich total zu ihm hingezogen fühlt. Ich habe erwartet, dass es sehr viel und detailliert beschriebene Erotik gibt und, dass es eine verworrene Geschichte sein wird, die einige Überraschungen enthalte wird. Eben ein typisches Erotikbuch mit sehr viel Drama und einem Hang zur Romantik.
Meine Meinung
Die Geschichte
Bei Amazon steht bei der Beschreibung: "Pretty Woman meets 80 DAYS in einem Pariser Boudoir!" und genau deswegen war ich so gespannt auf die Geschichte. Ihr müsst wissen , dass ich "Pretty Woman" an die zwanzig Mal gesehen habe und ihn immer noch abgöttisch liebe. Ich mag es, dass Julia Roberts eine Prostituierte in dem Film spielt, die etwas viel viel besseres im Leben verdient hat und dann auf Richard Gere trifft, der ihr wirklich die Welt zu Füßen legt. Wie ich schon erwähnt habe, hatte ich mit "80 Days" ein richtig großes Problem, denn mir war die Geschichte einfach zu gefühlslos und unpersönlich. Ich fand sowieso, dass es dort meiner Meinung nach gar keine richtige Geschichte gab, da es die ganze Zeit nur um Sex ging und darum wann sie das nächste Mal wieder Sex hat. Ich hätte das Buch damals wirklich an die Wand klatschen können, weil ich etwas wie "Shades of Grey" erwartet hatte. Eine Geschichte mit Humor, Romantik und ganz viel Gefühl. Da wurde ich leider vollkommen enttäuscht. Deswegen hatte ich ein wenig Angst als ich gelesen habe, dass dieses Buch mit "80 Days" verglichen wird. Bevor ich aber dazu komme, ob es sich hier wirklich um eine Geschichte handelt, die "Pretty Woman" und "80 Days" vereint und ob ich hier genauso enttäusch oder sogar überrascht wurde, würde ich euch gerne erstmal den Inhalt ein bisschen näher bringen.
Die Geschichte handelt von der 21-jährigen Annabelle, die allein in Paris wohnt. Sie studiert Journalismus und das macht ihr auch sehr viel Spaß. Doch ihre Mutter ist sehr schwer erkrankt: Sie hat Krebs und den in einem fortgeschrittenen Stadium. Es bleibt nur noch eine Möglichkeit, um sie zu retten: Eine Spezialbehandlung in den USA. Das Problem dabei ist nur, dass diese Behandlung ein Vermögen kostet und sich Annabelle die nie leisten könnte wenn sie nicht einen besonderen Beruf hat. Und da kommt ihre beste Freundin Sophia ins Spiel. Sophia vermittelt Annabelle an eine Escort-Agentur und Annabelle denkt, dass dies ihre einzige Möglichkeit ist, um das Geld für ihre Mutter zu verdienen. Anfangs trifft sie sich nur für Abendessen und Partys mit ihnen doch irgendwann schläft sie auch mit ihnen, um noch mehr Geld zu verdienen. Doch dann trifft sie den reichen und gut aussehenden Medientycoon David, der ihr sofort sehr sympathisch ist. Die beiden treffen sich regelmäßig und David legt Annabelle die Welt zu Füßen, aber Annabelle kann nie ganz ehrlich zu ihm sein, weil ein so mächtiger Mann niemals eine ernsthafte Beziehung mit einem Escort-Girl führen würde. Deswegen nimmt Annabelle noch einen letzten Auftrag an... Dort trifft sie auf den gut aussehenden Louis, zu dem sie sich sofort hingezogen fühlt. Doch dann erfährt sie, dass Louis Davids Bruder ist. Annabelle muss sich entscheiden, ob sie eine Affäre mit Louis beginnt und ihr Verlangen stillt oder ob sie sich gänzlich von ihm fern hält und auf perfektes Paar mit David macht.
Die Geschichte hat meiner Meinung nach richtig Potential, denn sie ist spannend, weil man bis zum Schluss nicht weiß für wen sich Annabelle nun entscheiden wird. Sie ist anders und dadurch sehr interessant, denn ich hatte mit dem Thema "Escort" vorher noch nie so wirklich etwas zu tun. Allerdings fand ich, dass die Autorin das mit der Erotik ein bisschen übertrieben hat. Ich hatte das Gefühl entweder die Protagonistin hat Sex oder sie denkt an Sex. Das hat mich schon ein bisschen genervt, weswegen ich die Geschichte auch nicht so richtig genießen konnte. Eigentlich hat die Geschichte wie schon gesagt Potential, doch dieses Potential wurde durch andere Sachen einfach nicht voll ausgeschöpft. Nach dem Ende kann ich sagen, dass ich die Trilogie nicht unbedingt weiterlesen muss, weil das für mich ein zufriedenstellendes Ende war, dass meiner Meinung nach nicht nochmal neu aufgerollt werden muss. Ich bin nicht vollkommen enttäuscht von der Geschichte, bin aber auch nicht sonderlich begeistert. Ich weiß nicht so richtig was ich davon halten soll.
Die Charaktere

Leider hatte ich auch ein Problem mit der Protagonistin, was das Lesen nicht unbedingt leichter gemacht hat. Ich war nicht zufrieden mit den Charakteren und war wirklich ein bisschen oder sogar ein bisschen mehr enttäuscht. Ich finde das wirklich sehr schade, da mir die Geschichte sogar vielleicht ein bisschen besser gefallen hätte wenn die Charaktere mir sympathischer gewesen wären.

Sie war es auch, die Elle an die Escort Agentur vermittelt hat, als diese krampfhaft darüber nachgedacht hat wie sie 25.000 Euro für die Behandlung ihrer krebskranken Mutter auftreiben soll. Elle macht ihr Beruf eigentlich überhaupt gar kein Spaß. Doch irgendwie denkt sie die ganze Zeit nur über Sex nach und dann erhält sie auf einmal noch anonyme Briefe, die ihren geheimsten Sexfantasien entsprechen. Als sie dann David begegnet, ist sie vollkommen hin und weg von ihm. Sie kann sich nicht vorstellen, dass David auch mit ihr zusammen wollen würde wenn er erfährt, dass sie als Escort-Girl arbeitet. Und deswegen möchte sie aus diesem Millieu sofort aussteigen. Doch einen letzten Auftrag nimmt sie noch an und dann steht sie ausgerechnet Davids Bruder Louis gegenüber. Elle fühlt sich sofort zu ihm hingezogen und das macht ihr Sorgen und auch ein bisschen Angst. Eigentlich liebt sich doch David oder doch nicht ? Und dann ist da ja auch noch ihr anonymer Schreiber. Sollte Louis etwa derjenige sein, der ihre geheimsten Fantasien kennt ? Elle weiß gar nicht mehr wo ihr der Kopf steht. Sie weiß nicht für wen sie sich entscheiden soll. Entweder sie geht ihrem Verlangen nach Louis nach oder sie bleibt bei David und führt mit ihm eine Bilderbuchbeziehung.
Mich hat einiges an Elle gestört. Erstens, dass sie ständig an Sex denkt. Ich glaube es gibt kaum eine Seite auf der Nicht sexuelle Ausdrücke vorkommen. Und zweitens habe ich sie zwischendurch als ein wenig kaltherzig empfunden. Ich finde es toll, dass sie ihre Mutter so helfen möchte, aber irgendwie war sie mir trotzdem ziemlich unsympathisch. Ich finde, dass sie als berichtet und das irgendwie ohne Gefühle. Außerdem ging sie mir leicht auf die Nerven, weil sie sich nicht zwischen den beiden entscheiden wollte und am liebsten beide Männer "behalten" hätte. Ich konnte mich überhaupt nicht mit dieser Person identifizieren und kann sie irgendwie nicht ab. Das ist sehr schade, denn das hat mir das Lesen wirklich richtig erschwert. Ich finde es immer sehr schade wenn man mit der Protagonistin nichts anfangen kann. Dann ist das Buch eigentlich immer schon unten durch.
Der Schreibstil
Dies ist wahrscheinlich mein größter Kritikpunkt an dem ganzen Buch. Ich finde es so schrecklich wenn der Schreibstil nicht gut ist und genau das war hier leider der Fall. Ich hatte echt Probleme das Buch durchzulesen, weil mir der Schreibstil wirklich so gar nicht gefallen hat. Die Geschichte ist aus der personalen Ich-Perspektive von Elle geschrieben, was ich schon nicht so toll fand, weil ich Elle ja nicht sonderlich gerne mag. Dieser Schreibstil ist alles, aber nicht persönlich. Ich kam mir vor als würde ich einen Bericht in der Zeitung lesen. Vollkommen sachlich und gefühlslos. Ich habe auf diesen Schreibstil nach einer Zeit wirklich einen richtigen Hass entwickelt. Das einzige persönliche an dem Schreibstil waren die Stellen wo Tagebucheinträge von Elle abgedruckt waren, die natürlich auch nur von Sex handeln. Ich könnte mich wirklich richtig über diesen Schreibstil aufregen, weil der gar nicht das Potential der Geschichte aussschöpft. Die erotischen Szenen sind wirklich sehr genau beschrieben. Man könnte das Buch auch fast als literarischen Porno beschreiben. Ich kann diesen Schreibstil einfach nicht ab und es regt mich selbst so auf, dass ich mich deswegen so durch das Buch quälen musste.
Der Titel
Endlich mal wieder ein Punkt an dem ich überhaupt nicht meckern kann. "Hotel de Paris" ist der Name für die Trilogie und der passt wirklich sehr gut, da das das Hotel ist, in die Elle ihre Kunden mitnimmt. Es ist ein Stundenhotel, in dem jedes Zimmer einer berühmten Liebhaberin nachempfunden ist. "Stunden der Lust" passt auch sehr gut, da dies nun mal ein erotisches Buch ist und das "Hotel de Paris" ein Stundenhotel ist. Mit der Wahl des Titels bin ich vollkommen einverstanden.

Was soll ich zu dem Cover groß sagen ? Es ist rot. Einfach. Simpel. Würde fast zu jedem Buch passen und ist nicht sonderlich einfallsreich. Es sagt gar nicht über die Geschichte aus und weist meiner Meinung nach nicht unbedingt auf ein Erotikbuch hin. Ich finde es nicht so toll.
Mein Fazit

Bei der Wahl des Titels kann ich ausnahmsweise gar nicht meckern. Er passt wie die Faust aufs Auge und gefällt mir persönlich auch richtig gut. Das Cover ist meiner Meinung nach einfach nur nichtssagend und überhaupt nicht auf die Geschichte abgestimmt.

Meine Erwartungen
Ich habe aus dem carl's books Verlag nur sehr wenig Bücher gelesen. Um genauer zu sein nur zwei. Eins von den beiden Büchern fand ich super und das andere grottenschlecht. Das kleine Problem ist, dass es "80 Days" war, was ich so schlecht fand und schon angekündigt wird, dass dieses Buch so ähnlich sein soll. Ich dachte ich gebe dem Buch trotzdem eine Chance und wollte mich damit davon überzeugen, dass es auch erotische Bücher aus dem Verlag gibt, die mir gefallen.
Ich habe erwartet, dass dieses Buch sehr dramatisch ist, weil Annabelle nun mal ein Escort-Girl ist bevor sie dem reichen, gut aussehenden und mächtigen David begegnet, der ihr sofort sein Herz zu Füßen legt und vor allem, weil sie seinen Bruder Louis bei ihrem letzten Auftrag begegnet und sich total zu ihm hingezogen fühlt. Ich habe erwartet, dass es sehr viel und detailliert beschriebene Erotik gibt und, dass es eine verworrene Geschichte sein wird, die einige Überraschungen enthalte wird. Eben ein typisches Erotikbuch mit sehr viel Drama und einem Hang zur Romantik.
Meine Meinung
Die Geschichte
Bei Amazon steht bei der Beschreibung: "Pretty Woman meets 80 DAYS in einem Pariser Boudoir!" und genau deswegen war ich so gespannt auf die Geschichte. Ihr müsst wissen , dass ich "Pretty Woman" an die zwanzig Mal gesehen habe und ihn immer noch abgöttisch liebe. Ich mag es, dass Julia Roberts eine Prostituierte in dem Film spielt, die etwas viel viel besseres im Leben verdient hat und dann auf Richard Gere trifft, der ihr wirklich die Welt zu Füßen legt. Wie ich schon erwähnt habe, hatte ich mit "80 Days" ein richtig großes Problem, denn mir war die Geschichte einfach zu gefühlslos und unpersönlich. Ich fand sowieso, dass es dort meiner Meinung nach gar keine richtige Geschichte gab, da es die ganze Zeit nur um Sex ging und darum wann sie das nächste Mal wieder Sex hat. Ich hätte das Buch damals wirklich an die Wand klatschen können, weil ich etwas wie "Shades of Grey" erwartet hatte. Eine Geschichte mit Humor, Romantik und ganz viel Gefühl. Da wurde ich leider vollkommen enttäuscht. Deswegen hatte ich ein wenig Angst als ich gelesen habe, dass dieses Buch mit "80 Days" verglichen wird. Bevor ich aber dazu komme, ob es sich hier wirklich um eine Geschichte handelt, die "Pretty Woman" und "80 Days" vereint und ob ich hier genauso enttäusch oder sogar überrascht wurde, würde ich euch gerne erstmal den Inhalt ein bisschen näher bringen.
Die Geschichte handelt von der 21-jährigen Annabelle, die allein in Paris wohnt. Sie studiert Journalismus und das macht ihr auch sehr viel Spaß. Doch ihre Mutter ist sehr schwer erkrankt: Sie hat Krebs und den in einem fortgeschrittenen Stadium. Es bleibt nur noch eine Möglichkeit, um sie zu retten: Eine Spezialbehandlung in den USA. Das Problem dabei ist nur, dass diese Behandlung ein Vermögen kostet und sich Annabelle die nie leisten könnte wenn sie nicht einen besonderen Beruf hat. Und da kommt ihre beste Freundin Sophia ins Spiel. Sophia vermittelt Annabelle an eine Escort-Agentur und Annabelle denkt, dass dies ihre einzige Möglichkeit ist, um das Geld für ihre Mutter zu verdienen. Anfangs trifft sie sich nur für Abendessen und Partys mit ihnen doch irgendwann schläft sie auch mit ihnen, um noch mehr Geld zu verdienen. Doch dann trifft sie den reichen und gut aussehenden Medientycoon David, der ihr sofort sehr sympathisch ist. Die beiden treffen sich regelmäßig und David legt Annabelle die Welt zu Füßen, aber Annabelle kann nie ganz ehrlich zu ihm sein, weil ein so mächtiger Mann niemals eine ernsthafte Beziehung mit einem Escort-Girl führen würde. Deswegen nimmt Annabelle noch einen letzten Auftrag an... Dort trifft sie auf den gut aussehenden Louis, zu dem sie sich sofort hingezogen fühlt. Doch dann erfährt sie, dass Louis Davids Bruder ist. Annabelle muss sich entscheiden, ob sie eine Affäre mit Louis beginnt und ihr Verlangen stillt oder ob sie sich gänzlich von ihm fern hält und auf perfektes Paar mit David macht.
Die Geschichte hat meiner Meinung nach richtig Potential, denn sie ist spannend, weil man bis zum Schluss nicht weiß für wen sich Annabelle nun entscheiden wird. Sie ist anders und dadurch sehr interessant, denn ich hatte mit dem Thema "Escort" vorher noch nie so wirklich etwas zu tun. Som optimistka. Vždy si poviem, že vydržím dočítať každú jednu knihu, ktorú chytím do ruky, no tu som to nedokázala. Bála som sa totiž, že skončím ako zombie. Ináč sa to ani nedá. Človek si myslel, že po 50 shades už nemôže byť nič také... Ale áno, slečna/pani/prezlečený chlap Emma Marsová to dokázala. Srsly? Aby to nebolo len rozprávanie do vetra, tak poďme vypichnúť pár perličiek, ktoré som našla iba na prvých 100 stranách. (Naozaj, ako to môže mať tak veľa strán??? A ešte aj viac dielov??? *facepalm*)
„Nikdy ma neprestane prekvapovať, ako sa väčšina inteligentných ľudí nevie milovať. Je to pravdepodobne jediná forma poznatku, ktorá sa nedá nabifľovať a nevyučuje sa na súkromných či iných kurzoch.“
Milá dáma si dovolila škatuľkovať, tak poďme nato aj my. Z tejto vety len priam srší názor, že inteligentní ľudia sú tí, ktorí majú za sebou mnoho kurzov a pravdepodobne vysokú školu, poznajú cudzie slová a pár cudzích jazykov. Je postava (alebo snáď autorka) zakomplexovaná a nevie pochopiť, že existujú ľudia, ktorí majú kurzov za vagón a aj napriek tomu nie sú inteligentní? A že budú ľudia, ktorí nemajú ani len vysokú školu a popritom majú viac rozumu ako všetky jej postavy v knihe dokopy? Lebo mne toto príde ako názor dievčatka zo ZŠ, ktoré má komplexy zato, že dostalo dvojku, jej kamarátka jednotku a potom jej rodičia doma povedali, že je hlúpa. A ostalo jej to doteraz. Tvárme sa teda, že to je len názor postavy v knihe (lebo tak by to malo byť), aj keď tomu absolútne neverím... A že sa inteligentní ľudia nevedia milovať... No potrebuje toto komentár??? Už len blbosť o tom, že nato nie sú kurzy. Sexuálna šelma v knižke asi ešte neprišla nato, že existujú aj ľudia, čo sa zaoberajú sexuálnym koučingom. (Wooooot?)
„Viem, že to vyzerá hlúpo, no myslím si, že genitálie majú spriaznené duše.“ R U SERIOUS? To má byť akože vzrušujúce? Ooooh, už chápem. Asi zato sa toľko ľudí k*rví. Pretože hľadajú spriaznenú dušu pre svoje genitálie a tie človek len tak nenachádza na každom rohu...
Aby náhodou niekto nemal problém s tým, že sa rýpem v maličkostiach, tak poďme na hlavnú postavu. Taký ten element v knižke, ktorý je tak troška nosný a bez dobrej postavy je vaša kniha vlastne o ničom. Asi zato som mala pocit, že tá kniha je naozaj o ničom... Jesus Christ... Ja vlastne ani len neviem, kde mám poriadne začať. Lebo sa to ani len nedá bez toho, aby som nezačala hromžiť.
Okrem toho, že ďalšia trauma z inteligentných ľudí je naznačená aj v postave, ktorá AKOŽE pohŕda luxusom a zlatokopkami, a všetky ostatné by jej mohli závidieť, že? Ale ona sa nebude hrať na INTELEKTUÁLKU... :D No comment... Tak sa teda na ňu nehrá, začne sa vydržiavať bohatým chlapom a nasleduje happy scéna za scénou s miliónmi klišé. (Ktoré komentuje ako klišé aj hlavná postava.) Ale poviem vám jedno tajomstvo. Tým, že sa nad nejakou blbosťou v knihe pozastavíte a prostredníctvom svojej hlavnej postavy poviete, že sranda, aké to je klišé, z toho menšie klišé neurobíte... Písanie lvl základná škola.
To, že hlavná postava to nemala v hlave v poriadku, je jasné už od začiatku. Videla som fanclub na FB nejakej dámy, ktorá sa týmto živila a tá mala oveľa vyššiu taxu. (Aj oveľa vyššiu úroveň hejtu v komentároch.) A to sa bavíme o SR...
A čo sa písania týka??? Naozaj? Po stránke budovania príbehu je kniha úplne strašná, ale ani štýl písania neozaostáva. Pri niektorých vetách som prevracala očami a radšej ani len nekomentovala.
Top príklad z prvých sto strán: „Ružové zlato a diamanty, ako som si inštinktívne všimla.“ Whoaaah, zlatokopka už má očividne na drahé kovy vybudovaný aj inštinkt...
Bola som zvyknutá nato, že vydavateľstvá mali pri vydávaní kníh aspoň ako-takú úroveň. Nuž, časy sa menia. Bohužiaľ. Ja len viem, že túto trilógiu nechám na pokoji a už nikdy sa za ňou neobzriem. Škoda, pretože obálku mala vytvorenú dômyselne. Ale to je asi tak jediné pozitívum na tejto sérii.

Z tejto vety len priam srší názor, že inteligentní ľudia sú tí, ktorí majú za sebou mnoho kurzov a pravdepodobne vysokú školu, poznajú cudzie slová a pár cudzích jazykov. Je postava (alebo snáď autorka) zakomplexovaná a nevie pochopiť, že existujú ľudia, ktorí majú kurzov za vagón a aj napriek tomu nie sú inteligentní? A že budú ľudia, ktorí nemajú ani len vysokú školu a popritom majú viac rozumu ako všetky jej postavy v knihe dokopy? Lebo mne toto príde ako názor dievčatka zo ZŠ, ktoré má komplexy zato, že dostalo dvojku, jej kamarátka jednotku a potom jej rodičia doma povedali, že je hlúpa. A ostalo jej to doteraz. Tvárme sa teda, že to je len názor postavy v knihe (lebo tak by to malo byť), aj keď tomu absolútne neverím... A že sa inteligentní ľudia nevedia milovať... No potrebuje toto komentár??? Už len blbosť o tom, že nato nie sú kurzy. Sexuálna šelma v knižke asi ešte neprišla nato, že existujú aj ľudia, čo sa zaoberajú sexuálnym koučingom. (Wooooot?)

Aby náhodou niekto nemal problém s tým, že sa rýpem v maličkostiach, tak poďme na hlavnú postavu. Taký ten element v knižke, ktorý je tak troška nosný a bez dobrej postavy je vaša kniha vlastne o ničom. Asi zato som mala pocit, že tá kniha je naozaj o ničom... Jesus Christ... Ja vlastne ani len neviem, kde mám poriadne začať. Lebo sa to ani len nedá bez toho, aby som nezačala hromžiť.
Okrem toho, že ďalšia trauma z inteligentných ľudí je naznačená aj v postave, ktorá AKOŽE pohŕda luxusom a zlatokopkami, a všetky ostatné by jej mohli závidieť, že? Ale ona sa nebude hrať na INTELEKTUÁLKU... :D No comment... Tak sa teda na ňu nehrá, začne sa vydržiavať bohatým chlapom a nasleduje happy scéna za scénou s miliónmi klišé. (Ktoré komentuje ako klišé aj hlavná postava.) Ale poviem vám jedno tajomstvo. Tým, že sa nad nejakou blbosťou v knihe pozastavíte a prostredníctvom svojej hlavnej postavy poviete, že sranda, aké to je klišé, z toho menšie klišé neurobíte... Písanie lvl základná škola.

J’avais déjà lu ce livre il y a quelques temps mais je n’avais pas eu l’occasion de me plonger dans la suite (que j’ai pourtant depuis sa sortie), j’ai donc décidé de faire une relecture de ce premier volet avant d’attaquer les suivants. Et comme cela avait été le cas la première fois, j’ai adoré ‘Chambre I’. Je me suis à nouveau laissée transporter par ce roman bourré de qualités qui est pour moi un incontournable de la littérature érotique française.
Annabelle, qu’on appellera Elle tout au long de l’histoire, va se retrouver dans une situation un peu délicate. Elle rencontrera le charmant David Barlet et en tombera amoureuse. Celui-ci aura vite fait de la demander en mariage. Mais Elle ne veut surtout pas qu’il apprenne qu’elle a été escort girl, par peur qu’il la quitte. La situation deviendra compliquée lorsque Louis, le frère de David, la fera chanter. Il gardera le silence si elle se prête à ce jeu érotique étrange où il ordonne et elle obéit.
Ce résumé est assez réducteur. Il y a en réalité bien plus à cette histoire qu’il n’y paraît. Néanmoins, n’attendez ni du BDSM (le terme ‘soumission’ pourrait prêter à confusion), ni de la romance contemporaine (il s’agit bien d’érotisme, certains ont dû se méprendre, ce qui expliquerait les notes négatives que j’ai pu voir passer) et encore moins un banal récit érotique. ‘Chambre I’ est pour moi un ovni du genre mais dans le bon sens du terme. L’auteur nous offre un roman exceptionnel qui se classe en haut de mes lectures érotiques.
Si je suis plutôt habituée aux récits tabou proposés par la maison d’édition du même nom, je ne peux nier avoir pris un plaisir fou à lire le premier tome de la saga Hôtel.
Ce livre m’a surtout marquée par son ambiance et son contenu riche. Emma Mars décrit des lieux parisiens qui existent réellement, et offre du réalisme à son récit. Il y a énormément de détails intéressants et pas seulement sur les descriptions des paysages. L’histoire est travaillée et aucun élément n’est laissé au hasard. Rien n’a été négligée. Aussi, la plume de l’auteur m’a conquise. J’ai aimé son excellente maîtrise du français qui lui a permis de jouer avec la langue, mais également sa manière d’alterner entre récit classique et entrée de journal. Ajoutez à ça des personnages intéressants (ma préférence va à Louis que je trouve cultivé et fascinant, j’ai dévoré ses mots avec avidité), le brin d’Histoire qui nous est conté (même si je n’ai aucune idée de ce qui est vrai ou faux), l’intrigue, les nombreux secrets dévoilés au fil des pages et enfin, l’ambiance enivrante que confèrent les lieux au récit, et vous obtenez un roman envoûtant.
Ce roman érotique se démarque réellement des autres que j’ai lus. Il est plus subtil que l’érotisme brute mais plus osé que la romance contemporaine, le tout dans une ambiance parisienne qui apporte un charme unique. Ce qui est agréable c’est qu’il y a une véritable histoire avec des secrets et des mystères intéressants. Ce n’est pas juste de l’érotisme, même si on tourne évidemment autour du désir charnel. D’ailleurs, l’auteur a une très belle façon de dépeindre l’acte, j’ai beaucoup aimé.

Disgustoso, osceno, volgare, orribile. L'ho finito, a fatica, giusto perché odio lasciare libri a metà. Ma che parto! Uno schifo totale: personaggi falsi e manipolatori che ho disprezzato, dal primo all'ultimo, compresa Elle, innocente quanto Satana in fasce, arrampicatrice sociale sotto mentite spoglie da santerellina, quanto mi é stata sui nervi, lei e il suo continuo pensare al sesso, chi é più perversa tra lei e i due fratelli, non so, stile altisonante troppo ricercato, con lunghe e pedanti descrizioni, per non parlare del linguaggio, decisamente troppo spinto per i miei gusti. Tutta quella nomenclatura anatomica... era proprio necessaria? Mai letta una tale oscenità. Devo ammettere che l'avevo iniziato incuriosita dal fatto che dietro Emma Mars si nasconda un grande autore francese di bestseller, come Musso, uno dei miei scrittori preferiti, pensando potesse essere lui la penna misteriosa. Ora posso affermare con certezza che mi auguro non ci sia lui dietro questo obbrobrio! Inutile precisare che non proseguirò nella lettura della trilogia: c'è molto di meglio in ambito libresco che mi aspetta!
