Those lines show the essence of Falling Again by Anjelica Rose, a slow-burn romance that blends finding your own way in life, as well as finding the people who make you happiest.
When I read the synopsis—"She didn’t plan to fall in love. He’s already falling. In the interconnected stand-alone of the Auburn Hills series— a slow-burn romance about two friends running from their pasts and stumbling straight into each other."—I don’t really know what I expected. The story opens with Sophie and Tyler already living in Auburn Hills.
Rose’s writing keeps the pages turning, balancing romance with friendship changes, and flashbacks that add depth beyond the surface of the main characters. While Chloe and Tyler’s budding relationship drives the novel, the supporting relationships are just as loveable. Chloe’s best friend Annika, and her boyfriend Reid add the feeling of a “core four” being present throughout the novel. Rather than feeling like distractions, these characters bring joy to the novel and give its emotional moments greater impact.
The romance itself delivers exactly what readers expect from the genre. Chloe and Tyler’s relationship develops through the entire novel, giving the reader ample time to keep rooting for them, and hope they get together by the end.
That said, the pacing occasionally works against the story. Some emotional moments feel dragged out, and left me wishing they would be over sooner. While the romance remains the biggest part, a few moments could have benefited from being cut from the story, such as some of the flashbacks to the past.
Overall, Falling Again is a charming contemporary romance that offers more than just a love story. Its strongest moments come from its exploration of finding who you are with your best friend, discovering yourself, and finding your person.. While some plot points could have used more room to breathe, Anjelica Rose delivers an emotionally satisfying novel filled with heart and characters worth rooting for.

The pair, along with Annika and Reid, have a tight-knit friend group. However, as Annika and Reid's relationship grows, Chloe and Tyler start to spend more time together alone. Falling Again follows two longtime friends whose relationship slowly begins to change into something more. I liked that the romance wasn't built on instant attraction or unnecessary drama. Instead, it grows through years of shared history, quiet moments, and the realization that the person you've been looking for might have been beside you all along. That slow progression made the relationship feel believable.
Friends-to-lovers is one of my favorite romance tropes when it's done well, and this one delivered. I found myself rooting for the characters because they genuinely cared about each other long before romance entered the picture. Their chemistry felt natural, and I enjoyed watching them work through the risk of changing a friendship they both valued. If you like romances that take their time and let the relationship develop naturally, this one is worth picking up. Falling again is a cutesy small town romance book. I thought that Chloe and Tyler were good together and their friendship built into a strong relationship.
However, I found that the writing style wasn't my favorite. It was very descriptive without creating emotional connection or impact on the overall book. The storyline got better as the book went on but the introduction of the character and world felt rushed. It lacked build up for readers to understand the main character emotional connection. While on the other hand the rest of the beginning 70% of the book felt slow. Then the main characters relationship felt fast in the end.
It was good once you got into the storyline but I feel like it could be developed better. If you are looking for an easy read, friends to lovers small town romance it is does accomplish that.

This was book two of the Auburn Hills series following Annika's best friend, Chloe.
Falling Again was an easy read with the same characters we came to love in Already Falling. I loved how we got to learn more about Tyler and his past. He is probably my favorite character in both books! I also enjoyed hearing more about Annika and Reid and their story.
There were some really well written portions of this book, but overall, nothing to really make it stand out from the rest of the contemporary romances out there.

This was such a captivating slow burn romance story set in a dreamy town. I really enjoyed the story arc of the four main characters, especially Chloe and Tyler whose perspectives the book was set around. The climbing backstory was really interesting and would have loved to have seen more of that side fleshed out in the story.
Overall highly enjoyed my time reading this book.

The book had great character development and made me feel connected to all of their hardships. I loved reading about Annika and Chloe’s friendship and seeing how deep their connection goes. I enjoyed getting background on all of the characters and how easily Tyler and Chloe transitioned into a relationship after recognizing they felt the same way.
