This is Lisabelle's account of things that we didn't know she went through, while still at Public, and then at Golden, and afterward. We did not know she given to the Vampires of one of Queen Lanca's enemies, to perform a task, but it was more to get her out of the way, so they could kidnap Charlotte's brother, Ricky. She meets a Vampire she feels an instant attraction to, something new for her. The biggest thing you get to see is how her power is changing when she gives herself the tattoo of her wand on her arm, and then when she had to put on the black ring. I liked this book a lot, because it shows Lisabelle's personality, which I love, and her witty replies, which make me smile.
This seems to take place the same time as Book 8 in the Paranormal Public series. It's Lisabelle's story and it's told well. I like this character a lot and hope she wins her battle against darkness.
This is the timeline between Vampire lock being conquered and Ricky Rollins being attacked for the first time by demons. I hope the author does more of these from Lisabelle's ,Sip's and Lough's perspective.
Loved this series of books, but what about Ricky???? Are there more books in the future? I feel like a giant question mark, and wanting more. Disappointed😕
The brief blurb makes it sounds like this book parallels Elemental Darkness, only from Lisabelle's point of view - so I was anticipating a semester-long narrative that would show the truth behind some of that book's rumors. Instead, this is the story of one adventure, taking place over a week or two, which leads into the climactic battle that takes place at the end of Elemental Darkness. Alongside that, we get a flashback story from around book five or six, told as memories and dreams.
That's not to say this is a bad book. It gives some nice insights into Lisabelle's character, and it expands the world a bit, but all in all, I have to say as I start Elemental Light that Darkness Rules appears to be a completely optional story.
Maddy, this book, like all the others, was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Once I started reading it I could not put it down. Lisabelle is such an awesome girl and her story couldn't have been told any better. It did, however; leave me wanting more. Thank you so very much for writing this book.
