The Truths We Find is a sweet, entertaining, and emotionally satisfying romance that balances second chance love, workplace tension, personal growth, mystery, and spice. It's an easy to read story with lovable characters, strong chemistry, and enough twists to keep us hooked until the end.

The story follows Dani, a determined and career focused journalist chasing the biggest story of her life, only to discover that her new boss is Gavin, the ex boyfriend who broke her heart years ago. As they are forced back into each other's orbit, old feelings resurface, unresolved questions come to light, and both must confront the past if they want a chance at a future together.
One of the strongest aspects of the book is the chemistry between Dani and Gavin. Their relationship is a slow burn second chance romance, filled with lingering tension, emotional moments, and undeniable attraction. I can feel that these two never truly got over one another, making their rekindled connection especially satisfying.

This was a solid read. The characters really jumped off the pages. I particularly liked both our main characters & the flawed mentally of Gavin’s protective side was a nice touch.
I certainly recommend and I’ll go a step further by saying I’m really interested in following this author and seeing what the future holds.

(⭐️⭐️ 2/5) Look, I did really want to love this book because I thought the premise had a lot of potential & I love me a second chance romance, but I really struggled to connect with Dani & Gavin, their relationship, & the intentions of certain decisions.
Personally, the biggest issue for me was that so much of the story hinged on Gavin keeping Dani at a distance & lying to her in an attempt to protect her from an outcome that happened anyway for the whole duration of their time apart which was kind of a big deal considering what was being hidden. That made a lot of the decisions throughout this feel frustrating & more hurtful to look back on. The lies just felt too big for me & Dani’s lean back into Gavin’s trust knowing how he ended it just didn’t make sense & after knowing the truth, I’d be extremely hurt that I wasn’t told prior & even sooner after being reunited. Gavin’s actions imo were truly hard to move past when he claimed to love her & want to protect her. This is one where the urgency for the truth FAR outweighed the rest & keeping secrets made it worse. I certainly wouldn’t be as forgiving as Dani was after finding that out.
The writing was good & I think there’s a lot of potential with this series and author. Dani & Gavin did have a lot of sweet, genuine moments and I could feel their chemistry for sure. Unfortunately, this one just wasn’t for me. I was very excited to be able to read this arc & would still love to continue reading this author in the future.

The Truths We Find was absolutely brilliant. This story had me hooked from the very beginning to the end. I couldn’t get enough of Dani and Gavin.
Dani is one very hard and talented worker. She’s worked very hard to be in the position she is in. Her love in journalism is absolutely incredible. She’s in a relationship that her bestie doesn’t approve of. When she is passed over a promotion she never imagined her new boss would be the one that broke her heart ten years ago. Gavin and her share a past and it didn’t end well. Now these two must work together. You’ll see from the start that feelings are still there. When working on a very big story you see how much they still care for each other. How much he supports her and everything she does. How much he still knows everything about her. It’s great to see such a strong connection between these two. When she is finally single and ready to dive back into another a relationship with Gavin you see that the chemistry is undeniable. This second chance of love came at the right time for them. They are learning and leaning towards something special. Secrets will be revealed and everything Gavin has done will show that he did everything to protect Dani. You’ll see all the highs and lows between these two. You’ll be rooting for them from the start. This story had so much heart, laughs, tears and everything in between. I enjoyed this story so much and I honestly couldn’t put it down.

Second chance, semi-enemies-to-lovers? Yes please!
The last place Dani expected to see her ex was when he was announced as her new boss- a job that she had been in the running for. Gavin was just as surprised to see her there as he thought her dream job was in a different city, but they had not spoken in ten years since they broke up. Their first meeting didn't go that great, nor did their second. It's evident from the beginning that Gavin wasn't sharing everything, but the two of them worked to be friends as Dani was dating someone else. That is, until they broke up and Dani immediately jumped into Gavin's bed. Now Gavin needs to figure out how to tell Dani everything, especially after it comes out that Dani's ex wasn't the upstanding guy that he appeared to be.
Gavin and Dani get their happy ending in this standalone book in a series.
This was such a great book! I loved how much confidence Dani gained over the course of the book and how Gavin stood beside her rather than over her, even as her boss. I do have to wonder if Dani's ex really would have been that cruel and released the tape he had, or if he cared just enough after being with her for a while to not want to hurt her. Though the way he talked at the end made it sound like he would release it. I can't wait to see if Emmett and Alexa get their own books and what kinds of happy endings they get.

Absolutely devoured this one in one sitting! A truly interesting second change romance story. The plot was 10/10 for me and I would’ve never guessed things would go the way they did. This has a good mix of tension, yearning, chemistry, mystery, a touch of spice and heavy of emotion.
I loved Dani! She is so ambitious and I really enjoyed seeing her growth. The way she learned to stand up for herself was impressive. I never would’ve guessed the reasons why her & Gavin’s relationship ended. And due to the way you think it did I really wanted to hate Gavin. But he broke down the walls I built just as he did Dani’s. I love that he is such a golden retriever. He cares so much for others and puts others needs above his. The chemistry between these two is totally undeniable. It’s intense even all these years later. I truly felt it when Gavin said fate brought them back together. Even if the circumstances were a bit crazy. I mean who doesn’t want to lose out on a promotion only to find the person who got it is her ex?!

This was such a cute read, and I loved this intro to Donna Bollen!! I loved Dani and getting to see her fight and drive for what she wanted in her life! I enjoyed getting to see her open her mind and begin to heal so that she could accept the love and happiness she deserved! And Gavin's journey of finding his purpose and his passion was really gorgeous to watch! Added along with the way he so effortlessly protected and supported Dani and her friends made the whole story so perfect! Getting to watch these two come together so beautifully was just incredible! Plus getting to meet the side characters who made this whole story so much better, was the icing on the cake!! I am super excited for the next book to get more of Emmett's story! Overall this one was really great and I just adored getting to see these characters bloom and this story unfold! 4.5 stars; 3.25 chili peppers

I can't believe this is a debut novel, it's absolutely fantastic!
Dani and Gavin's story had me hooked from the very beginning and if work and sleep hadn't gotten in my way I would've devoured it in one sitting. I couldn't wait to get back to them. I love how we only get snippets of the story at a time, it created some wonderful mystery and the suspense had me craving more.
I'm just over here thinking about the plot twist like I'm Elle Woods getting the alibi and telling everyone it's really good without sharing it.
Their story takes place in the world of journalism and it was a riveting topic, one that I haven't read a ton of. Such great story and characters, I can't wait for Emmett's book!

Fate seems to always intervene when the timing is right. From the beginning you want to hate Gavin. Dani rightfully should have gotten the job but they hired from outside and low and behold it the one man that devastated her 10 years prior. Gavin is just as shocked to see Dani and who Dani was currently dating. Lies and omissions have a habit of being revealed in unexpected ways. The men in Dani's life are holding secrets, will Dani be strong enough to face them head on or will she retreat. Dani and Sam are lackluster, Dani and Gavin are HOT! It was fun watching them rediscover each other and forge their place in the world. This was a good read that had me rushing to the end to get her the big secret.

The truths we find was so good I finished it in a few hours!! It was such an amazing sweet contemporary romance with a good amount of spice.
This is a slow burn, second chance workplace romance where the fmc is career driven and chasing the biggest story of her career, enter Gavin her new boss but formerly her ex boyfriend who broke her heart to ultimately protect her.
I feel like from the beginning you could just tell they're meant to be. They had the sexual tension and those little moments that made your heart melt.
The truths we find also has mystery and secrets which will have you on the edge of your seat.

This book wasn’t it for me. The only reason I didn’t DNF was to find out the “secret” they kept hinting at for 80% of the book. When it was revealed, I was underwhelmed. Sam felt more like a cartoon villain rubbing his hands together than an actual bad person.
I found myself skimming the smut scenes (which I never do) which didn’t even start until over halfway through the book. I liked the Hot Guy falling for the Curvy Girl but I never felt their connection on the page. Also Gavin calling Dani “girl” when they’re in their 30s didn’t sit right with me.
I was asked to give an honest review and this is my honest review.

I absolutely DEVOURED this!! I received it as an ARC, and I couldn’t put it down!!
The writing was wonderful, and the banter between characters was so fun.
Dani is such a badass, Alexa is hilarious and the bestie we all need. Gavin, trying to do the right things for the right reasons, but still seemed to fall short, and Emmett, little chaos monster we all love.
Also, big F U to Sam. You turd. Hated him from the beginning.
Loved the story line, loved the tension, loved the ending! Can’t wait to see what happens in book 2!

I loved this story. I’m a sucker for second chance romance. Felt like the story kept me engaged the entire time. My mind was working out what the secret was. Did not expect it to be what it was. Could definitely feel the connection between Gavin and Dani. Wish we got more of their story from before. I loved their meet cute. Would recommend this!

I loved this story! The second chance of love gets me every time ! It’s a slow burn with the right amount of spice, and the mystery in this story will keep you hooked not wanting to put this down really made you feel in the story I love books like that ! Can’t wait to see what comes next in book 2!

This was the first book written by @authordonnabollen and it was a wonderful start. It is so easy to fall in love with her characters. The book is perfect for someone who likes to read second chance romances, books about the legal system, and stories of strong women. I can't wait to see what book 2 holds but don't worry, this one does not end on a cliffhanger.

If you like second chance, sweet, contemporary romance, I think you’ll like this book. It has a little bit of a mystery element throughout and has some great side characters that bring some fun to the book. This is a second chance romance with some good spice. Overall, a short and fun read.

I am so happy I read this book as an arc. I was emotionally sad and now I’m emotionally happy. Only great writing can do that and this book has it. Relatable main characters, funny asf side characters, and true friends. Absolutely loved it.

This was a solid 4 star read. I got a little lost towards the end and had to re-read a small bit to process where they were in the story, but overall a great start to a series! Can't wait to read more!!
