Knot Her Pack #5

Protecting Their Omega

Rate this book
As a rejected Omega, I swore I’d never trust another Alpha… until I met them.

On the run and desperate to protect my niece Cora, I’ve been moving from town to town, never staying long—until my car breaks down in Silver Falls and leaves us stranded.

I don’t expect anyone to help. I especially don’t expect three of them.

Everett, Cash, and Lincoln are Silver Falls’ most powerful Alpha pack, and after what my old pack did to me, my guard goes up immediately… but these men are nothing like what I’m used to.

They get my car to a mechanic, give me a job at the bar they own, and when they find out Cora and I are holed up at the shadiest motel in town, they insist we stay with them instead.

Fine. I’ll accept their offer because I’d do anything for Cora. But I know better than to let feelings get involved.

That is, until Everett sits with me in the dark and tells me I’m not alone anymore. Until Cash waits up for me after a bad date just to admit he couldn’t stand the thought of me with someone else. Until Lincoln gives me his shirt so I’ll have something that smells like him instead of the Alphas who broke me.

I thought being chased by my sister’s ex was dangerous, but falling for these three protective Alphas is even more terrifying than that.

Because it’s not just my safety on the line anymore. Now it’s my heart.

And when my past catches up to me…

I’ll have so much more to lose.

Ok. Done with the series. These are just the same story over and over again, but I still ate it up. They were cozy and I didn't have to think too much. Perfect.

It was an okay book. I did like the aspect of her running from someone and needing protection, that is usually a favorite for me, though. I also enjoyed the niece being mute and her learning signs to use with her and then the men picking up on that and learning online with her so she’d feel comfortable expressing herself whether with voice or by sign language and was so happy she could come out of the trauma that put her in that state.
Now, for the bits I didn’t like as much or were just not that greatly written from my point of view: the sex scenes were a little rough around the edges, maybe it’s just me, but it didn’t flow smoothly through the scene. Some of the scenes were better than others, but the dirty words they’d use were just awkward to me. To each their own, I suppose! I also was missing having more information on how she came to have her sisters kid. I understand her sister was shot and that it was a bullet meant for her alpha, but how did Cora get to be with her? From the beginning it was just them on the run and it said she took her from the hospital, but not much, if anything, else. That confuses me though because why was Cora at the hospital? Was she at the scene of her mother’s death? And if so, wouldn’t Geoffrey have known for a fact that Cora was at the hospital and been there? There just wasn’t a good flow of information on what happened with the sister and how Cora ended up with her. Who called her to get Cora, or who brought her to the hospital to begin with? Just very confused and my brain gets stuck on supporting details. It also confuses me because she was traumatized clearly, but unless she witnessed something happen with him being abusive, I’m unsure what would cause her to close off like that, she would be too young to understand much unless she witnessed it. And if she had, then in the scene where the alphas come home to find her in the closet and she says the bad man brought mommy out that way, she would’ve known who he was because she was with him for childhood, right? Or did I not understand correctly and they had left him a while prior and he just found her and that when all that happened and therefore Cora never got to know him? Just little things that don’t add up in my head and I think about for a good story line, but I also get that this story isn’t mostly about all of the bad previously in their lives, but rather focusing on comfort & small town protective alpha vibes. The “Who hurt you?” type of story. I gave it a 3/5 because it had a good base and the story had potential, and while I think it could’ve been rounded out around the edges a bit, it still kept me reading and on my toes about when the other shoe would drop so to speak and the bad things would come back for her. I did enjoy the ending and I particularly loved Cash staying up to make sure she was home where she belonged after her date and being jealous and then making her feel good and showing her what a good man is like! He had a way about him that was smooth and effortless! It eased her into things way better than I think either of the other two could.
I’m impartial, as of now, if I’ll read the other books in this series. I read the descriptions and I think I like the vibes being rich guys for, I think, 2 of them, I love a good rags to riches and let me spoil my omega vibe book, but I’m unsure about the cowboys one. I’m not much for cowboys, bull riders, MMA, any kind of fighting, biker gangs and all those types of books typically. I have read other books of Sadie’s, however, and enjoy several of her other works so I’m definitely willing to give it a go. I did realize that this is the newest one in the series, despite it being labeled book number one and that the rest were published first, so I’m curious what happened there too!

𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭.

Well now I think I have another new favorite author with this book. Holy hell this book was amazing. I'm not sure how I found it but I loved the book cover and downloaded it. I saw that it was listed as book 1 but then another saying it was book 5 then saw it could be read as a standalone.

Now let me tell you that I devoured this book. I devoured it. One chapter after another and then it was over. Just like that. I wanted more and didn't want it to finish. I lost a little time reading this but this book was so worth it that for me it deserves more than 5 stars.

I was hooked from the very first chapter and Harper's protectiveness over her niece Core and I wanted to know more about why she was running. There was so much happening in those first few chapters that left me with questions and I needed those answers. I love Harper, she has been through the mill and nothing else matters to her except for protecting Cora.

She doesn't trust anyone especially Alpha's after her last pack treated her so cruelly and made her think she was worth nothing. But when she meets one of the MMC's Cash on the side of the road and he helps her back to town. Harper and Cora are both traumatized and dubious about everyone, Cora no longer speaks and only communicates with hand gestures which broke my heart.

Then the book introduces two new Alpha's Everett and Lincoln and let me tell you that these Alpha's can do no wrong. Nothing. They are best friends living together as a pack and they are not searching for anyone to join them but after they all meet Harper and Cora they can't help but welcome them both into their lives.

The chemistry between Harper and the guys is intense and sizzling and the spice is🔥🔥🔥I love their relationship and the trust that is built between them. Its not instant and none of this is insta-love. Its a slow burn and the tension is off the scale intense. I freaking loved this book. I was dipping my toe into the Omegaverse and this book fell into my lap and it was sweet, spicy and ticked all the boxes for something that I love to read.

An amazing book and story. The writing was beautifully done, so much emotion. Heartbreaking at times and seeing Cora build that friendship and it was super sweet. I will be reading the rest of these books from this series. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sweet story

I debated over giving this book either 4 or 5 stars and ultimately decided to give 5 stars simply because of the child, Cora. I have a slight weakness for stories involving sweet kids, and it’s nice seeing her open up due to the safety the MMCs provide and the way they care for her. A majority of the book is about the FMC and MMCs healing from past trauma and how their presence helps them heal. Much of the spice doesn’t happen until towards the later part of the book as the MMCs show their green flags by saying that they will only do something when they FMC is 100% sure. By the time they do have sex it’s clear their relationship is already strong and it only helps the FMC heal more. The FMC’s past does return but it’s dealt with so quickly that it’s really just a blip in the story. It does however strengthen the relationship between the FMC and MMCs. This story is definitely worth reading and definitely recommend.

Not near as good as some of her other books.

Meh. It wasn’t anything special. It dragged and I found myself skimming a lot of the last 25% of the book (which I never do), especially during the spicy bits. 🤷‍♀️

I know it’s fiction but the law enforcement aspect of it was super unrealistic. Also, How was she found by the villain (even w/ him reaching out to her prior pack)? That doesn’t give him a location on her. They didn’t know where she was.

Also, The scene at the festival? With “explosion” noises from the fireworks? That’s never explained. She had a toxic relationship with her prior exes but nothing that explains ptsd from “explosions” (that phrasing bothered the heck outta me). She wasn’t there when her sister was shot so none of that made sense. Let’s just throw in a ptsd response for no reason I guess. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Just meh.

This one was fine but nothing special and had issues. The omegaverse aspect of it felt like it was hanging out in the back. I don’t even think we knew what everyone smelled like, and there was no mention of an actual nest room just her making one on her bed. Having a nest room is a staple for omegaverse is it not? Omegaverse felt very muted. The last 25% of the book kind of ruined it for me, you’re telling me he gets right out of surgery and he “needs” her so she gets on top? Come on. I get it’s Omegaverse and they want each other all the time but that’s a no for me. Then when the guy comes to find his daughter he doesn’t really look in the house because no way he doesn’t miss the toys, the room, the kids books.

The premise of the book was good and had potential. The plot was interesting but needed more work for it to all flow and make logical sense.

Oh man, this was such an interesting story! Harper and Cora were so adorable together while still having their own traumatized pasts. Everett, Lincoln and Cash were the perfect pack for them, despite the men also having rough pasts to contend with as well. Watching them all blossom together, and create incredible bonds with each other was amazing to watch happen. The town was so supportive while having those few bad apples hanging around. It was amazing to see how the alphas of this pack were able to move together and around each other in a way that only long time best friends could, knowing when to push or pull back, when to banter and when to allow time for silence. The ending was perfect too. I adored reading this book and am hoping for more in this series! Maybe Lainey next?

Sweet and Perfect

You have an omega and her niece in hiding and on the run when everything that could go wrong does. Then they get rescued by a pack of alphas that seem too good to be true and a town that can tell they need a helping hand and rally around them.

This book just wraps you in a warm hug and shows you that it’s ok to ask for help and to rely on others when you need them because sometimes there are people that are trustworthy and will be on your side when you need them most.

Harper and Cora ended up in the best place with an amazing group of people and found their family and their support. Such a great story of healing after trauma and finding love and trust after being told you were undeserving of it.

Heat- 3.5

While not quite a slow burn, it was close. There is no insta love here. Harper meets Everette, Cash, and Lincoln while in desperate straits and they feel compelled to help her. Their relationship is sweet and builds as they genuinely get to know each other. The pack’s relationship with Cora, Harper’s troubled niece, is the best part of the book.

It almost feels like Moss made Harper’s backstory too complicated while also not giving enough detail. She is on the run from Cora’s father but she is traumatized by her own former pack who rejected her. The problem is we never really see what made any of these villains so horrible. Sure, her former pack seem like jerks, but she never describes physical abuse that would leave her having panic attacks from loud noises.

While I enjoyed this book, I almost forgot it was omegaverse until I was halfway through the book and her heat hit. There wasn’t a ton of omegaverse elements for the first half which then made me think this might have been better as a contemporary romance. It was weird because I would forget and then the author would throw in an omegaverse term.

For example, Lincoln’s sister Lainey, is a big part of the story, but we don’t learn her designation or really anyone else’s except the one beta she went out onna date with.

Great read

I have been wanting to read this for a while and finally did, now I'm wishing I had sooner. Once I started reading it I could put it down.

I really like Harper and her men. They were so supportive of her and then way they just started taking care of her and Cora was wonderful. I like to read books were the men just take care of the women while letting them be strong themselves. this is definitely a book I would suggest to anyone wanting a heart warming book that will get you in your feels.

Loved It!

I absolutely love the Omegaverse. Super hot Alphas that want to love, support, protect and devour their Omega?? Sign me up every time! I loved how this story played out. The Alphas were so sweet and supportive of Harper. No pressure or assumptions and they did everything at her pace because he had been through so much and was clearly in need of time to heal and not feel the need to run. I was happy that Cora wasn’t taken from Harper. That was something that was stressing me out to think about.
So sweet, extra spicy and just an overall great read! ✨✨✨

unrealistic

I like Sadie Moss, but having been in the Law Enforcement world so long it really bothers me how unrealistic this book is. I am debating explaining but no one likes spoilers. Still, the story is sweet and the grammar is better than a lot of the e-books I have read lately. I liked it overall, just maybe do some more research before writing.

Not my favorite Sadie book.

First I have enjoyed most of the other books written by Sadie. While I loved the premise of this story and thought the plot was great; it had what I call a lot of filler, that made it hard to stay invested.

Don’t take this as a don’t read it, it’s definitely worth the read.

Harper and the pack and Cora

Emotional story. A little more slow burn than I like. Harper was in survive mode a long time. But the pack took her and her neice in and made a home and created a family. I wish we could have had more good and the HEA beings little more complete. The spice is good.

I have really enjoyed all of the books in this series, but I could not get invested in this one. I always have a higher bar for small town romances because the cliches are less salient for me, but I think chapters with the perspective of one of the MMC’s falling quickly would have helped? I still am open to reading other Sadie Moss omegaverse! DNF 35%

Love the found family

It’s nice but the pacing and the writing seems off to me. The found family is great though. The relationships developed really slowly then exploded but I felt kinda disconnected to the story.

What a sweet and spicy story. The writing was really good and the story kept you hooked. The spice was spicy lol just like I like it. I wish her old pack would’ve gotten some on-page comeuppance though haha

In my opinion the Omegaverse part of this story felt muted. It read more like your everyday why choose about 75% of the time. There was no mention of any other packs in Silver Falls. I agree the pacing was off but I did enjoy the characters.

I DNF'd at 53%. It was just dragging. We still only have hints of her past and while things have just begun to happen with the guys, their still is no openings up or communicating happening. Lastly at this point i totally forgot it was an omegaverse book. I couldn't do it anymore.

Normally, this would be right up my alley but this completely missed the mark imo. It’s multi pov but it’s basically Harper’s pov for 90% and then the guys for 10%. Idk I just didn’t care about anyone so 🤷🏻‍♀️

sweet story, 3.5 stars

I found the first 2/3 of this book kind of boring. The only reason I kept reading was because I love omegaverse and I was curious to find out what happened. I liked all the characters and thought they were well protected.

I can’t believe I’m the one saying this, but I think this was too horny. From the start of her heat to the last page, they’re pretty much always banging. Like, I ended up just skimming over the last few chapters because I was bored of all the screaming.
This book has changed me.
