This book is recommended for readers 18+ due to sexual interactions and strong course language. As a child, he was told he’d never amount to anything, yet he continued to strive for more. Wanting to prove he was worth something and needing to make his parents feel pride in his accomplishments, Mike Lawdenski fought a losing battle.
Now, as an adult, he’s found solace in one thing…winning the battle raging inside of his soul. Between the wires of the cage and the love coursing through his heart, he knew there was a battle to be won.
One night is all it took for him to see and understand his place. He was no longer willing to obsess over something he’d never have. He made a decision that would forever change his path in life. Unsure where his future would lead, Mike removes himself from everything he’s ever known and takes a chance…a chance on someone he never saw coming.
Will Mike be willing to let go of the one person who has always been his support because of the pain she’s caused? Or will he open his eyes to the possibilities of a greater love that stands in front of him?
I’m a fun-loving, down-to-earth kind of chick who loves to laugh, smile, and have a good time. Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania in September 1979, I’m a true East Coast girl who loves the mountains and the beach. In Spring 2012, I became an avid reader and since have read over 300 books ranging across genres, primarily focused on romance and paranormal. Simply put, reading is my escape, a way for me to turn off the outside world and get lost in a new one. I’ve found a true love in reading and writing, and I never imagined I’d be where I am today. When I started writing my first novel in June 2013, I was anxious to see where my journey would take me. Becoming an author has been a dream come true. This is more than just a hobby for me, it’s my passion!!
It goes without saying th snyder is one of my favorite authors. I am honored to know her personally & professionally and am happy to be part of her journey.
This is the 2nd book in The Fight series and where we dive deep into Mike the best friend of Hank & Trenton. You'll fall in love with each character for very different reason.
Mike thinks having a one night stand with Traci will take his mind off the girl he thinks he loves and cant have. But that one night stand has him questioning everything.
This story has kept me on the edge of my seat for The Win. There were several new clues dropped but of course the CLIFFY QUEEN left us hanging once again. I highly recommend reading this series. And if you haven't already read her previous 12 books, what are you waiting for. You have alot of catching up to do.
I'm very partial to this author. She astounds me with all of her work. She makes me smile, laugh and yes even cry (which i rarely do from a book.) On a personal level, I'm honored to be a part of this series, this book, this authors life. On a professional level, the book is just damn good! I have been waiting what feel like FOREVER for this book and I love it more than the first! Mike is broken, or so he believes, when he realizes the woman he thought he loved is with someone else, someone close to him. He is devastated and rightly so, right ? Well, i cant really tell you all of that, you will have to read it ... Lets just say, Mike is sweet, nice, sexy, hot and so confused, but as we spend time with Mike, and he unravels all that is his messed up psyche, (and Libido) you are going to fall absolutely in love with him. Traci ~ (god i love that name :P), is a counter/reception girl at the gym "The Cage". She definitely has a huge crush on Mike, and is pretty hurt by his lack of attention. His little bits of sudden attention leave confused, sometimes a bit hurt, and lets face facts, horny as hell, but as they both discover bits and pieces of each other, and Mike discovers what he thought he needed wasn't even closed to what he wanted at all, sparks fly, and something starts to bloom. I love these characters. I was all about Hank to be honest. It was going to take a lot to change that .... .WELL HELLO !! you got me ... I'm so in love with Mike. I still like Hank, but Mike has blown me away. my heart now belongs to him. He's very well written and i feel his pain and want to make him all better. I like how Mike grows into a better man as he discovers himself. Traci is a pretty awesome female character. Shes right to the point and not a whiny mess that i want to smack in the head. The story catches me and keeps me and the characters have great chemistry. The side characters are awesome and the fact that you get some of Hank and Taryn, and some feedback on how their relationship is going. I enjoy that the characters aren't just forgotten about from the first book and they blend in with the second. She didnt cliffy us this time, which is actually a surprise but i loved how this one ended and I'm really looking forward to Trenton's story. This is a series i would absolutely recommend, and this is an author i would suggest you get on your TBR because all her series are amazing.... oh and she gives good cover :P
I've read all of this author's stories. Normally I'm a type of reader to wait until all of the books in a series come out so that I can read them all consecutively. This is not the case anymore with The Fight Series. This is Book 2, and for me it was much anticipated. I was caught off guard a little with where she went in this book, only because I expected Taryn & Hank part II, and this was not the case. I am not the least bit disappointed in the development of Mike's character. It's actually a pleasant surprise. I don't want to give too much away, but I'm happy things turned out the way they did and that Mike has a chance at a life and experiences that his childhood and his parents told him he was never worthy of. The Battle, in my opinion, has just begun and I look forward already to The Win and where it's going to take the characters and readers. The gorgeous covers are always a plus.
Mike's story is one that pulls at my heart strings. Too often we fall in love with the idea of something or someone. Our heart and mind plays tricks on us and for some, we become obsessed with it.
After realizing things aren't what they always seem to be, Mike decides to take some time and find himself...who he is and who he wants to be. Wanting to move forward with this life, he focuses on his training and upcoming fights.
When he least expects it, someone falls into his lap. Can he remove the pain from his past and move on or will he continue to dwell on what could have been?
I hope you enjoy reading this story as much as I have writing it :)
T.H.Synder has done it again. The Battle is the second in this author's Fight Series. The story is about Mike, from the three friends from the first book. Mike finds in the beginning that something he always wanted, is not going to be attainable. He tries to forget the pain with a hook-up. But feelings arise he didn't expect and distances himself from his friends. Story continues with him trying to find himself and if the things he really wanted were realistic. Hence the battle of figuring out who he is and is it possible to find someone that can handle him and his past at the same time.
The Battle by T.H. Snyder was awesome just like her other books. This book picks up right where the The Fight leaves off I love that you get to see everything from Mike’s point of view. Mike is sexy and you feel sorry for him at first but then you are happy because he is finally figuring out his own path which I love. Of course Miss queen of the cliffhangers leaves us hanging on the edge to see what happened with Mike and Traci, Hank and Taryn and what is going to happen to Trenton so can’t wait for The Win to come out.
After reading the The Fight I knew this book would bring a change. I wasn't sure about Mike's character in the first book. After reading The Battle I feel he is the weaker of the 3. I wasn't drawn into him as I had been with Hank. Mike lacked something although not sure what it was he was missing. It is a good read.
This book was really good, it was hard putting it down. Mike is such a awesome guy. T.h Snyder did such a fantastic job with this book and the series is definitely a must read one.
I love The Battle. I'm not sure how Hank stepped back the way he did, but it shows what a great guy he really is. He can try and hide behind his bad boy persona, but I've got him figured out. I feel bad for Taryn, not really, how could I, she has 3 hot guys in love with her, or least the thought of her. I'm glad Mike was able to work through his problems. He deserves someone that will put him first. Traci seems like she's someone that will keep Mike happy. They make a cute couple, or at least in my head they do. I love when I can visualize the words in my head, it means someone is doing something right. I'm sad for Trenton most of all, I hope he finds his happily ever after. I'm excited for his future. Maybe he can find someone that will take his feelings into consideration for a change. I think I'm #TeamTrentonToFindHisLove! Bring on The Win, I can't wait.
T.H Snyder is a great author who writes stories that draws the reader in! You connect with the characters and you become one with the book!
The battle is mostly about Mike and the love for the girl from his childhood Taryn... When one evening Taryn and his best friend Hank end up together Mikes questions his love for Taryn and his friendship with Hank and distance himself from his friends and seek comfort in Traci.... A girl who works at "the Cage" where Mike fights and train.... What will happen between Mike and his friend Taryn and Hank, and what will happen with Traci?! Read The Battle and find out!
I also have to say that T.H Snyder has the gift to take a cover and attract the readers with all the hot guys! Who wouldn't want to read about the naked, hot fighter or guy with all his glory on the cover?! Good work and bring it on!!!!
5 Freaking Stars WOW! I truly did not think Hank could be topped but I LOVE Mike. Mike has been in love with Taryn for as long as he can remember as has is best friend Trenton, after Taryn moved away to college they stayed close friends with Mike and Trenton making trips to see her regularly. While they knew each other was competition they never expected Trenton twin brother Hank to come swooping in a stealing the girl. This sets Mike into a rage and he finds himself spending time with Traci who works at the Cage, however he is surprised and concerned with the feelings he has for Traci and how quickly they are developing.
Of course the lovely th Snyder leaves with a jaw dropping ending that has us trying to find more pages that just aren’t there. Kudos to Ms. Snyder for making each character and book better than the last and leaving us wanting more.
t.h snyder is one of my all time favorite authors. I know going into a book that she has written, that I will love it. This one is no exception. The Battle is Mike's story, it picks up where we left off with Hank just through Mike's eyes. Mike's feelings are no secret but how will he react when he finds out he can't have they one thing he has wanted for as long as he can remember? The way this story was written I could feel how alone Mike felt and how heart broken he was. I truly felt sad for him but knowing how strong he was I knew he could pick up the pieces. I enjoyed reading about his inner battle with himself and his feelings and how he worked through them.
I am looking forward to book #3 getting Trenton's story and finding out where Hank and Mike end up.
This is the second book in the fight series. It's no secret that I LOVE this author and her work. She will always have me as a fangirl <3 with that said... My review is based on the story not me fangirling over her.
Oh mike... I don't know what it is about him but I just feel the need to root for him. Somehow he is now my fav and makes me want him to get his own happy ending!
Traci comes in at just the right time and what Mike thinks is a one night stand turns out to develop into more. Taking time to work past his broken heart he realizes that maybe he wasn't really in love after all. Allowing himself to open up to Traci he gets the chance to develop something new and I can't wait to see where it takes him!
I was excited to get this book because we get to know Mike story a little better. He came from a family that acted like he was never there. Mike has been in Love with Taryn since they were young or so he thought. When he is shown that he isn't the one she wants, it hits him hard. Wanting to drown his sorrows in the first person he sees. Traci has wanted Mike to take notice, she is the one person that Makes him see there is more to life then Taryn. I really like the way this story is heading. Ready for more.
the Battle is book 2 in a 3 part serial. This book focuses on Mike and his love for Taryn. Once Mike spends time soul searching he realizes his love for her is not as intense as he once thought.
The reader sees lots of different sides to Mike. We see him pissed off, lonely, and finally vulnerable to the possibility of a new love.
t.h. snyder writes another solid story with hot guys, strong women, and steamy love. She is guaranteed to make you want the conclusion of this epic battle.
I love T.H. I have followed her since she her first book, and her books never disappoint. I received a copy exchange for an honest review. This book really don’t disappoint. I think T.H. is a brilliant and talented author, I think I like this book better than the first book in the series. I love Mike. I don’t want to give any of the story away. Mike is a very loveable person. Very well written, 5 big stars for this book. Can’t wait for the next one. Great job.
This is the second book in the Fight series. Mike has to be my favorite character. I loved how well the story was written and how well the characters developed. T.H. Snyder knows how to draw people into the story. T.H. is one of my favorite authors. I highly recommend this series to everyone. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
Wow, this book was amazing!! I have read all of th Snyder book and I loved them all!! This book is no exception. This book revolves around Mike who has been in love with Taryn for all his life. When he realizes that she does not feel he is devastated. He comes to realize that what he wants is not what he needs. I highly recommend reading this book. I can't wait for the next one!
Loved the characters even more in The Battle. TH Snyder is a amazing, captivating, attention to detail writer! This is a must read..... Passion, story, laughs, tears...... I'm ready to read it again!!
I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was really good. T.H. Is a really good author. I recommend this series. I loved The Fight and this one. I really like Traci, she was very good for Mike. Good job T.H. Can't wait for more books!
Mike has always been in love so since he was a teenager, following around the same girl for years. He gets shattered when she ends up with his best friend. Betrayed and hurt he goes looking for someone to help the pain.. What he finds though maybe someone to heal him and teach him what love truly is. A good read
I like Mike and Tracia together . He was trying to get over his best friend and who he believed was the one for him getting together. Little did he know there was so much more there. Enjoyable fast paced well written.
I don't remember the style of book one, it may have been the same, but there was just something disjointed about the flow and dialogue. It felt emotionally robotic.
I've been waiting for Mike's story since the end of The Fight! I loved the first few chapters of this book, seeing inside Mike's head, and also inside of Taryn's. I felt horrible for Mike, but we all knew who Taryn belonged too, unfortunately Mike and Trenton didn't get the memo for all the years they have been friends.
Once Mike found out about Hank and Taryn, he goes back to the bar and finds comfort in Traci, who also works at The Cage. What he didn't expect was to find a connection to her. That one night together was hot, and then he up and leaves. I'm not sure how Traci forgave him as quickly as she did, but after he explained everything he was going through, I was happy to see these two give it a go.
As much as I enjoyed Mike's story, I wish we would have gotten more of the other characters as well. Especially Taryn, since she's the one all of these hot men want. I also wish we could have seen what is going on with her and Hank after the night at the apartment.
Mike's book is a great read, but I felt as if he was missing something, he seemed weak to me (compared to Hank), and as bad as I felt for him and Trenton in The Fight, I am glad he found the girl he's supposed to be with. I just wish he would have manned up a little more, and fought for what he thought he wanted (even though in the end it wasn't). I think he gave up too soon on Taryn and didn't even give them a chance to explain themselves, just shut them out.
This story is hot, and full of drama, but I wish we would have gotten a little more, I felt as if it ended too soon, and I will definitely be waiting for The Win to see how everything plays out with all of these characters. Mike's character definitely grew on me, and I definitely liked Traci! Now on to Trenton's story... hopefully we don't have to wait long for it!
Another amazing book from the equally amazing t.h. snyder. This is the second book in The Fight series and this is where we discover Mike's story. I dove right into this story and I'll try my best not to give anything away. Mike, Trenton, and Hank have been best friends forever. They do practically everything together, including fighting at The Cage, and they all love the same girl. Taryn grew up with these guys like they were her brothers but only did she see one of them as anything but a brother. Can Mike recover after he learns of Hank and Taryn becoming a couple? Will a one night stand with Traci from The Cage solve anything for him? Can it make him forget or move on from Taryn? Only time will tell!!!
Once again the Queen of Cliffhangers leaves me dying to read The Win!!! I adore t.h. synder and everything that I have read that she's written.
Favorite Lines: ***With the absence of parental affection, Taryn showed me how to love, how to empathize, and how to be happy. If not for her, I don't know that I'd ever have wanted to get up and do something with my life. She's always been my lifeline.
***She looks so damn cute standing there with an attitude and her resting bitch face smirk.
***Taryn Morris is not a battle I'm willing to lose, she will be mine.
***Let me handle them, nothing happened here tonight. There's nothing to explain...yet.
***Its always been the two of us fighting for Taryn's heart, Hank was never even a part of the puzzle. What the hell did I miss?
I loved the first book in this series so naturally I was all for reading next one and finding out what will happen next :) I definitely enjoyed reading the book through Mike's POV as it was quite interesting to see the situation through his eyes.
I have to say that I quite disliked him from the first book and also from the beginning of this second part in the series. I though that he was acting quite selfish and immature given that the way he was presented he always though first of himself without any consideration of the people around him. And I really though that his friendship with Hank will be blown to pieces because of Taryn. Well, I was definitely surprised with how things went down :D
I definitely enjoyed how Mike changed through the book. I loved seeing the way he finally grew up and managed to find himself, to sort his feelings for Taryn once and for all :) With all that he definitely managed to change my opinion of him :) and even though Hank is still my favorite, I can now honestly say that I quite like Mike :)
As a whole I really enjoyed this short read but I think the only thing I was missing a little bit was some more Hank and Taryn. In any case I loved it and I can't wait for the next book in the series :)
I a big fan of T.H. Snyders books! While Reading her books you can tell she pours her heart and soul into her writing.
The Battle starts out with Mike struggling to confess his love for a woman him and his friends, Hank & Trenton, have all had a thing for growing up. What happens one night at a bar, takes the story a completely different direction. With Mike taking some much needed "me time" to figure out what he wants, he can't seem to take his mind off of Traci, the one woman that that takes his mind off of Taryn. He is beginning to realize the love he has for Taryn all those years may not be as strong as he thought.
In The Battle, Mike goes from the "lost boy" longing for a love with Taryn, to angry pissed off Mike, to a sensitive Mike opening up to a woman he never paid any attention to.
After finishing The Fight, I couldn't wait for The Battles to come out, and I will say, WORTH THE WAIT!!
The author T.H. Snyder has a way to get you so into the story and makes it hard to put the book down. However, she is known as the cliffhanger for a reason, and this book is no different, lol. Good job, T.H. Snyder!!!!!
***I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Mike Lawdenski has known one thing beyond a shadow of a doubt, he is in love with Taryn. He has been the best friend she can count on, the one that has always been there, can he make her see him as more than a friend?
The Battle picks up where The Fight left off, thankfully, I had to know what happened between Hank and Taryn, how will Mike and Trenton react...all questions I had to have the answer for. How can a man survive losing everything he has ever wanted with one single act? Mike believes he is broken, that something is wrong with him. How can he move on? Can he ever see himself as worthy? Worthy of love? Worthy of winning the Battle?
I can't wait for The Win. I can't wait to see what T.H. Snyder has in store for her characters, and for us.
