About Me I believes the only thing sexier than a man in cowboy boots is two, or three men in cowboy boots. I also believes in love at first sight, soul mates, true love, and happy endings.
I live in the great Northwest region of the USA, with my gorgeous husband and soul mate, two boxer/collie puppies, one old biddy cats, and three fish. When I'm not being a mother to my six teenagers or cleaning up after my two 70 pound lap puppies, you can usually find me cuddled in bed with a book in my hand and a puppy in my lap. Or on my laptop, creating the next sexy man for one of my stories.

First Read 4-9-15 Man, I was really looking forward to Jonny's story. This was NOT what I had in mind for it though :( I HATED Russ. Jonny is too damn sweet to be with him. Then where in the hell was the groveling? Jonny forgave the bastard too soon.
This was an ok read but I thought Jonny forgave Russ far too easy - should have made him grovel a bit for making far too many assumptions! Didn't really warm to Russ either, he felt a little incomplete to me. His family were mentioned a few time as well but why did we never meet them??
Not my favorite but will be reading more of this series. Love Stormy, she is my guilty pleasure ;)
The 'Cade Creek' story I have waited for since Jonny appeared in book two is finally here! It’s not an easy romance between him and Russ, and all because Russ doesn’t think he is the right partner for Jonny. It’s been an entire year since Jonny moved to Cade Creek, and they still stumble from one misunderstanding to the next. And when Jonny finally decides to move on, the real trouble begins. Filled with suspense and a few surprises and twists, this is an entertaining read with lots of “sweet” to make up for the suffering Jonny and Russ have to go through.
Jonny is Elliot’s younger brother and has been horribly abused by their stepfather. He lives with Elliot and his partner Mitchell on the farm, but the man he is interested in is Mitchell’s best friend and business partner, Russ. Not that Russ reciprocates this interest in any way – to the point that Jonny believes Russ is ashamed of Jonny and what he wants. There is only one thing to do, and that is to gain some distance. Or so Jonny thinks – until he finds out moving into town was a real mistake. Some pretty awful men are after him and he needs all the help he can get to stay safe.
Russ is a quiet man, fierce and proud, and he is horrified by the thought of hurting Jonny after he has been hurt and abused so badly. When the attraction overwhelms him and he gives in to his desire, he is shocked by what he does, thinking he is a monster - and withdraws. By the time he understands that Jonny is more than interested in him it is almost too late, but Russ quickly comes up with a plan. The threat to Jonny from two thugs who don’t want to seem to give up only increases Russ’s desire to protect Jonny – whatever the cost.
If you like sweet romances hindered by stubbornness, fear, and uncertainty, if characters who need to learn how to communicate are your thing, and if you’re looking for a read that is as sweet and hot as it is suspenseful and angsty, then you will probably like this novella.

I had serious issues with this... Jonny being abused by stepdad goes to relationship in the bdsm area? Nope, doesn't work for me. And finding out (NO HINT) about Russ' proclivities after their first sexual get together was like from out of nowhere. It just didn't fit. Frankly, leaving it at Russ wasn't sure Jonny was ready for a relationship (how obtuse to not notice anything?) would have been fine. But then throw in, not ready for a relationship where he calls the shots and indulges in spanking and tie down.
I didn't get a great impression of Jonny really liking where this was all going. It felt like he was settling since he'd loved Russ for a while.
Oh and the drama at the end...as Jonny says himself in so many words... what a joke! If injuries are going to happen, the reason shouldn't be so flat. And why bother with it at all if the person responsible is an idiot?
This is my least favorite of the series. Bummer I was looking forward to what was holding them up. Now.... wanna go back and forget the sexual tension from the previous book.
I'm a little embarrassed to be enjoying these books so much. This one was different than the others in that they didn't fall in love in 30 seconds flat. They actually knew each other for a year. Of course, Russ was an ass to Jonny but still...When they finally did get together it was sex, I'm so ashamed, sex, let's get married. And where the kinky BDSM style stuff came from, I have no idea. It was a bit on the awkward side. Cute story though.
Jonny and Russ ! Jonny had a terrible time in his life last y at when Jonny and his family came to Cade Creek. Jonny wants Russ, who has kept himself at a distance. Russ did not want to push Jonny if he wasn’t ready.
Through a few issues, the men get together with a hot sexy night. Then Russ panics, thinking he was too much for Jonny.
There are finally communicating, and they have hope, all while two brothers who are bulling, are causing chaos.
I loved the concept of this story and the characters, loved Russ and Jonny. I like the fact that the story flowed so well but I did find that the story lacked, for someone who was abused he didn't seem too distressed or damaged at anytime really apart from when Russ pushes him away. The editing was not great and there was information missing. Also Russ has a tattoo done for Jonny but he never shows him, so what's the point in mentioning that. I so wanted to love this book but I didn't which is such a pity as the storyline had so much potential!
3.5 Stars ~ I liked Jonny and Russ’s story but I wasn’t blown away by it. Partly that comes from two men who had to be the absolute worst at communicating AND interpreting what each other did say. The sex was hot which was expected from Stormy. I do still love how Cade Creek comes together for its own.
Okay, so… I’m obsessed with this series. Like, obsessed!
In saying that….I have to say that Russ, in the beginning, is ridiculous! I understand where he was coming from. The things that Jonny went through at the hands of his stepdad, were terrible. No one should ever be subjected to abuse and torture like he and Elliot lived for so long… and Russ was there the night they showed up in the middle of the night, seeking refuge. He saw him beaten down and so afraid, waking up in the middle of the night screaming the house down from his nightmares… so I understand not wanting to take advantage, and I understand feeling like he wasn’t good enough for him….I got all of that.
BUT, the tinest bit of communication would’ve solved SO MUCH! First, Jonny had been an EMT for how long? And Russ didn’t know it? They lived together for goodness sakes. They lived with Mitch and Elliot and nobody ever brought it up? He thought what? That Jonny was out partying all the time, or what? Did he not have a uniform or even a shirt to wear home that displayed his job? I didn’t understand that. It never came up at the breakfast or dinner table? A bad night at work or something? That just didn’t seem plausible to me. Then… thinking Hank was a boyfriend, and when they finally got together, instead of talking to Jonny about what happened, he calls the police on himself for taking Jonny against his will? The R word? Really???? Who would do that? I wanted to slap him upside the head. Nobody is that stupid. Nobody. And those two guys who mugged Jonny?? Why did they just get away with it? They ripped his mom’s picture and held him at knifepoint and nobody even called the police? WHYYYY??? Of course they’re going to come back and do something drastic… why wouldn’t they? They’re terrible people who get away with being terrible people… unless you stop them, they’re going to continue to be terrible people!! Ugh!
Sigh…. so I’ll say this one frustrated me the most of the series. I was so excited for Jonny, I thought he deserved so much… and instead, we get a bunch of back and forth…. Russ was a jerk and what? Wanted to get on Jonnys good side, so he tries to make him jealous?... shows up wherever he is and then acts like a jerk and makes him mad…. Who taught you how to treat somebody you care about? All he had to do was be nice to him. Show him that you care about him a little bit. Don’t berate him or talk down to him. He was so worried about how Jonny was acting and crap, but he was the one being so immature…. And why did Jonny have to make a play and lay his claim? (Especially seeing how Russ likes to get down… shouldn’t that be his job? Laying claim?) RUSS is the one who needed to fight for them… needed to prove himself. Jonny had done that for the last year they lived in the same house… he told him he loved him for F sake. And then they get married before Russ can even tell him that he loves him? …… This one just really had me boiling.
However…. In saying that… once you get passed the pig-headedness and realize that Russ is just the way he is and Jonny for some reason seemed to accept it.. it works out. Not how I ever would do it, but to each his own. So, while this isn’t my favorite and made me more angry than feeling all floaty and in love, like the others did…. I’m going to jump into the next one.
This is book four in the Cade Creek series and continues with Russ and Jonny’s story. Jonny is Elliot’s baby brother (Farmer in the Dell). It’s a year later and Jonny has been in love with Russ since he and his siblings arrived. I loved how Jonny has changed from the scared young man to the focused, dedicated and strong one in this book.
Even though it was pretty good, there were a few issues I noticed with it. First is Russ had no idea what Jonny did outside of home. He knew that Jonny was in school but had no idea for what. He had no idea that he graduated and had a job working as a paramedic in Cade Creek. He (Russ) thought that Jonny was out all night partying and bed hopping which I thought was bizarre. How can you not know whats going on with a person who’s been living under your roof for a year whose brother is your best friend’s husband? How is it that you never had a conversation with Elliot or Mitch at some point about Jonny?
Okay, so now Russ find out what is really going on and realizes that he’s in love with Jonny. Instead of coming outright and courting him-which isn’t easy because Jonny is pretty ticked off at him—he enlists the help of their friends to go along with the dumbest scheme I’ve ever seen to win Jonny back. Russ proceeds with this play-hard-to-get, ridiculous and unnecessary silly little love games that one would expect from an teenager and not a grown man.
With that aside, I did like how they ended up. Jonny and Elliot deserved their HEA. The book didn’t have the insta-love aspect that the other books had because they already knew each other but that’s okay. I am really enjoying this series and the characters. I’m really glad the author decided to continue with this town featuring it’s other residents.
The books in this series have mild violence and may deal with issues such as domestic/family violence, physical and or mental abuse so if those are your triggers, I would recommend you skip those parts.
This book is part of a series and as such should be read in sequential order. It is recommended that your read the Blaecleah Brothers Cowboy series as their characters cross over into this series.

Jonny Be Good is the fourth book in the Cade Creek series by Stormy Glenn. While this book is part of a series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel with ease.
Jonny Foster is getting his life on track. He has a job that he loves and keeps him busy. He is getting past the abuse his stepfather put him through. The only thing missing is someone special share his life with and Jonny has an idea of who he wants to fill that role. Jonny is a man who has a strong spirit and is easy to care about.
Russell Bozeman is a farmer who works with Jonny brother Ethan. Russell has been attracted to Jonny since he met him but due to the abuse in Jonny’s past keeps him at bay. Also Russell does not go out of his way to find out any information about what Jonny does all day and seems to make assumptions rather than try to find out facts.
The connection between Russell and Jonny is blistering. I loved that both Jonny and Russell were not perfect and each had to struggle with their pasts and short sightedness. I loved how what Russell was shown how wrong he was, he goes out of his way to make it up to Jonny.
I found this book well written with an interesting plot. I enjoyed how the author incorporated romance and suspense in realistic and believable way. The main characters and the secondary characters were enthralling. The ending of the story was predictable but this story is more about the journey to the end than the end itself. Overall, this was a very captivating book and I hope to see these characters again in the future. This book was reviewed by a member of the review staff at Cocktails and Books. This book is part of a series and should be read in order. Also this is a spin-off of the Blaecleah Brothers series and takes place in the same town with characters from that series showing up.
Jonny has been living in Cade Creek for a year now with his siblings, after finally getting away from their abusive stepfather. For that past year he has been falling in love with Russ. When Russ rejects him again, Jonny finally makes the decision to move to town and become the roommate of a friend. Russ likes things a bit rough in the bedroom. He believes that Jonny, after his years of abuse, would not be interested in that kind of life.
The writing was great and there was a good flow to the story. The sex was a little bit kinky and hot. Something I have come to expect from Stormy Glenn. So there everything was spot on and did not disappoint.
However I never really got invested in their relationship. Both Jonny and Russ fell a little flat for me. These two never communicated with each other from the start. They both made assumptions instead of talking things out. It all leads to several misunderstandings and hurt feelings. It takes an outside force trying to cause trouble that makes them finally face up to each other.
So overall I enjoyed it to a degree, but it was definitely missing something to really draw me into the story. Neither character had whatever missing quality to make me root for their happily ever after. And I honestly miss that. I think without it this a just a well written book with a lack of emotional pull in my opinion.
Holy fabricated drama, Batman! These people go out of their way to not make their intentions clear and to incite misunderstandings. Apparently there’s no such thing as talking plainly and putting actual words out there. No, clearly the better plan involves a weird, long scheme that hurts the object of your affection more than a simple confession and apology right away would have. Kinda reminds me of what I might have thought was romantic back in my preteens before I grew common sense.
I have no idea what compelled me to pick this volume up in the first place. Because it fits the parent series' pattern to a t. Honestly, the whole thing is on crack.
Yet there are moments when I see the appeal and it works on me a little. There’s something to that completely mindless simplicity that may appeal to someone who has their brain stuffed full of things already.
And then we are back in crazyville with all the usual ingredients and I wonder what I am reading.
The D/s thing here? Uh. Pretty sure Russ’ lack of asking permission for anything makes for an unhealthy relationship (and really, why? what makes him so incapable of saying the words?), but this is offset by the fact that not only does Jonny eat it all up, it turns out he is able to take the reins when he needs to. Creepiness averted. Mostly, anyway.
So I will brave the next book, too. I must be in that kind of mood! o.o
Looking for a May/December romance with a gay man twist? Then the fourth installment in Stormy Glenn’s Cade Creek series just may fit the bill, at least in Russ’s eyes. Russ believes he is too old for Jonny. He refuses to see that the young man who ran to protect his family is older than his years would indicate. He pushes and pushes until finally Jonny has had enough. I adored how Ms. Glenn made Russ choke on crow once he got what he thought he wanted. I mean she wasn’t mean spirited about it but it definitely had her unique twist. And Jonny was willing to take only so much from the man who owned his heart. I loved seeing Jonny gain distance. And Iadored that Jonny didn’t make it easy for Russ to repair the damage he wrought. Being slapped down one time too many put the shoe on the other foot and now Jonny is afraid to give Russ his heart once again. He needed to learn to forgive. He had to learn that love involves taking a chance and courage is embodied in the simple. For meJonny Be Good by Stormy Glenn became a wonderful story about second chances and is well worth reading.
Jonny has been drawn to Russ, best friend of his brother’s husband and part-owner of the farm they live on, since he and his brothers and sister came to Cade Creek a year ago. He has come a long way since then, stated and finished school, got a job as a paramedic and starting to overcome the trauma of his abusive stepfather. The only thing that hasn’t changed is his attraction to Russ, but the man has made it pretty clear that he doesn’t want him. After a mind-blowing kiss and subsequent withdrawal from Ross the hot and cold gets too much and Jonny decides to leave the farm and move in with his friend Hank who has a room to let. Russ has taken one look at Jonny and fallen for the man. But Jonny has been abused by his stepfather and Russ likes his sex rough, as in tying his partner up and spanking him. Best just to stay away. But still, having Jonny leave the farm is tough – but probably best for both of them.
Finally Jonny’s book, I had been waiting for this and it did not disappoint. Entertaining read, hot sex scenes and we get a chance to catch up with some of the characters from the previous books.
After reading: "Well, that was a big ol' disappointment." *bad taste in mouth*
But, as a whole, this series had been sort of disappointing. I think Stormy Glenn's writing lends itself better to paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi type stories, as there are things that a lot of us are willing to accept/overlook for an alpha wolf shifter, vampire, or outerspace catman, that just won't fly in a regular contemporary setting. *shrug*
Oh Russ, how stubborn can 1 man be! UGH!! I liked Jonny a lot but I don't know how I felt about his relationship with Russ. Don't get me wrong, I liked Russ a lot, but I just didn't like the connection that they had in the bedroom. I didn't expect that kind of thing from Russ, and I was having a very hard time imagining Jonny being into it after everything that happened to him, so it was just difficult for me to get into this book like I was the other ones.
This was one of those books where you wanted to bash the characters heads together and get them to talk to each other. Some story arch’s finished and others to be continued.
I continue to enjoy this spin off series as much as the original. This book could have had a bit more grovelling from Russ and a bit more determination to make him grovel from Jonny.
Least enjoyable story in the series so far. Russell was too annoying for words and the idea that Jonny (who had been abused) would accept being spanked & tied up so easily seemed too far-fetched.
